I think Dadnir summarizes the issues of a pet best.

Either give rangers
1. the ability to have more control over its unique pet mechanic , or
2. The option to remove it at will to prevent unintended consequences

I will try the leyleecher with passive mode. hopefully that helps. Thanks again

Ranger needs the option to stow their pet permanently.

The mechanic is poorly designed and breaks the game. I am not even asking to give bonus dmg or speed.

the pet is a huge liability cuz it doesnt know how to dodge.

in pve you have instances where you could not progress due to this mechanic. The leyleecher in the most recent living story is an example where you could not win because the mob would just leech the life of ur non responsive pet to get back to full. in wvw a necro could epidemic off ur mindless pet and spread it to the zerg, and in pvp people just get free stealth off the pet…. This is not a skill thing. it is poor design…

WE NEED the OPTION to stow!!!please do it!

for a solo ranger it is impossible because the pet wont die and the boss keeps leeching life off it…. gg

Hello,

I’ve been experiencing connectivity issues for a couple weeks. I live in the North East United States. I’ve been fine for a whole week, and this morning the issue has returned.

Severe lag followed by a disconnect. The type of lag where you activate an ability and it just flashes but your character does nothing.

I wont bother posting my system specs, because I know that this is an issue outside of my Computer/Wifi. When I use the shared internet on my phone to play GW2 I have no connectivity issues.

Is anyone else in the Northeast United States having this issue? I’m thinking something wrong with a hub or something.

I also have this problem after the patch 03/22/2016, a lot of lag and disconnections , it’s not funny at all :c. I checked in different pcs and different places too , and is only this game that present problem.

As you suggested i made the test , but i don’t understand too much about it. Could you explain me?

On the left you can see packet loss percentages. You have a lot of packet loss starting at your ISP and trickling down through. If this was Anet you would see the packet loss start at ncsoft.com. This is something you will have to take up with your ISP.

So does this mean its ISP and not ANET? Like everyone else i only seem to have problem with this game. Speed test.net shows ping is actually very low on average

GW2 ping is really bad lately. Im in Canada, and the ping from speed test is fine, but in game the ping spikes up to the hundreds range

History has repeated itself. Ranger during the original game’s beta used to be great… ANET nerfed to the ground due to knee jerk reaction… now the druid is getting the exact same treatement… This makes me sad

This is why it is important to have more than 1 beta… I hope ANET is still listening to the community. The attention we are getting post launch is very minimal (excluding the knee jerk nerf attention if you count those).

after using staff 3 skill and weapon swapping, you are put in combat and you are put on weapon swap cooldown. Pretty sure this isnt suppose to happen … anyone else notice this?

Gonna rant about what i Like/Dislike about druid so far :P

Pets
I love the smokescale and bristleback pet
The attacks are well thought out. The damage is good. And bristleback becomes a godzilla with signet of wild!!!! Love it!

Potential bug: not sure if anyone notices this but taunt doesnt seem to work on the new pets all the time. The Icon comes out on the tooltip but they still charge at me.

Traits:
Love the ancient seed and natural strides (please dont change them). these two skills synergizes well with the core ranger as well as the druid.

Skills:
Glyphs have too short of a range. They are also non instant cast, making it not that great. I think it either needs a larger range or make it so it is instant cast

Nothing is more annoying than to try to interrupt someone but having to watch ur druid flail his arms around before the tides come out… Worst yet, because the cast time is 1/2 second sometimes i get interrupted on my skill that is meant to interrupt… very ironic..

I can deal with a slightly longer cooldown if it can be insta casted

Noticed that natural strides dont work… I dont feel any faster when traiting that

i tried it out and then ported to the asura town…started running, then hit a switfness skill…and it didn’t seem like a went any faster….once swiftness was over, its didn’t seem like i slowed down.

so it must work sometimes…..maybe its buggy you equip and unequip the trait in the same zone.

Oh yea, kinda buggy… but it works now…
had to port out and back in .. wierd..

Gw2 new game mode ideas (using pve gear, but no food allowed)

1.Conquest mode
Each team consists of 5 players to represent

There are 5 regions available (fire, water, mountain, forest and dessert themed) each with specific unique terrain advantage and disadvantages for each map

Each player can choose one region they would like to fight in (limit one player per region on a first come first serve basis)

teams do not know which members of the opposing team has selected which region, until all members on both sides have selected a location they would like to fight in

Players are pitted against each other in a one v one duel format.

These fight has a time limit of 5 min

Surviving players at the end of 5 min duel will b transported into center of the map to reunite with team members for a last stand battle against the opposing team.

Team who has all members dead is the losing team

2.Duel

1v1 on demand request at one of the specified maps listed above

I would really love to see dueling implemented into the game…
Items also should to be tradable…
Stats and effects on weapons and equipment should vary slightly to give the game some customization.

The end game content is not there without these components IMO

Roots in Entangle is still unreliable… It can still be stealth out of and blocked and missus when user is blinded. sometimes ppl can even walked out of it randomly… I think entangle needs to be an unblock able skill (it’s a root shld work like traps). Also the root should not be able to be blinked out of… Ie if a thief shadow steps with root on him the root shld still be on him until it’s broken…

I believe the new mm gm trait should increase ALL projectile speeds jnstead of just longbow. Axe particularly needs to be a bit faster. Read the wind should also increase all projectile dmg by 5% like eagle eye.

Next eagle eye needs to apply increased range to short bow as well. On top of what it does already.

And finally honed axes trait should increase axe throw range to 1200 on top of what it already does.

These three changes will go a long way in making power rangers more viable without directly increasing their dmg.

I would like to see ranger playing an interrupt disrupter role …
More dazes and stuns, and have skills that deal more damage to people who are interrupted or under a cc ( this would promote more skill and less spamming)
If we go this route, Devs need to address for the fact that asura has an extra long daze compared to other race for possible balancing concern

I think some race has superior abilities … Technobabble for example is great for rangers due to how great it compliments with moment of clarity …
Norns elite leopard also seems so much stronger than all the other races elites due to it’s stealth and dash.
I would like to suggest for other races to have similar capabilities to maintain racial equality
Another suggestion is to offer some new racial skills that make it worthwhile for the other classes to be picked as well… Sylvari seems seriously lacking in particular.

I’ve experienced twice where none of my attack buttons work

only utilities with intsa cast seems to work (ie u can still use judges intervention, quicken zhepher etc..) but all non instant cast are not regestering…

this usually happens after interacting with enviornment (either thorugh drop pickup or conjure weapons…)

its really annoying as my character would be completely disabled until i relog

this is not lag or delay (the buttons do not flash, and i can swap weapons and all)
defineatly a bug…

Idea to make shortbow more fun

Shortbow atm is a boring pew pew weapon with mediocre damage and the low range…

if shortbow skills could stack in intensity and then be activated on demand for a larger burst damage that would be interesting…

what i have in mind is a two part weapon change:

1.) Change skill #1 on shortbow so that when you hit someone you could stack “potent poison” charges on enemies. These charges would do nothing at first but could be built up to a maximum of 25 stacks.
2.) the #2 skill poison volley would be reworked to another skill. for the time being we will call it “poison catalyst”. Essentially the idea is this skill would work as a burst for rangers. The base damage of this skill would be exactly the same as skill #1 but for each stack of potent poison charges on the enemy you will deal additional X damage (scales with power).
if the attack hits, the enemy stacks would go back to zero (and you would have to stack it up again if you want to do another burst damage)

of course the numbers need to be tweaked, but this could be interesting…
what do you guys think?

Melandru is the set I should be running on my Ranger and Warrior, and I would run it on my Necro too if I didn’t like the Travelers runes so much.

I know what you mean about Traveler runes. Now that they don’t have Magifind I feel able to proudly say I’ve been using them for nearly a year. I’m actually a bit saddened as to the change in the effect for the sixth rune. It used to give a flat +5% speed boost on top of Signet of the Hunt, which is what I ran it for. I miss my perma +30% speed boost. Well at least I have one more utility slot to use, I guess.

i dont think speed stacks like that… u prolly jus run 25% cuz gw2 takes the higher of the two and ignores the lower one

Buff the shortbow damage coefficient! we got a reduced range, i want to see it do more damage for the increased risk.

since the range got decreased by 25%, we should see an increase in damage by 25% to make up for that.

Entangle is working as intended. The immobilize will trigger on any foe who gets trapped in the vines, even if they teleport out. If a player stays in the vines, the immobilize will keep stacking. If a player teleports out of the vines, or destroys the vines, the immobilize will still stay on that player. If a player uses condition removal, the immobilize will be removed, but if that player stays on the vines, a new stack of immobilize will trigger on that player.

Entangle stacks 1.5 seconds of immobilize on a player, every 1.5 second. So if a player gets vines on him, and then immediately teleports out, he will still have 1,5 immobilize on him. If you increase your condition duration, this will of curse be higher.

I know entangle is working as intended, but what im trying to suggest is that the intended effect is a little underwhelming…
the entire mechanic of the root applying immobilization in a periodic interval has many loopholes… since the game treats the root as an npc unit, you could easy bypass effect either through stealth, teleport, blind, regular condi removal or even reduced condition duration effects from runes.

Consider the following: if you happen to cast grasping roots or entangle on someone who have lemon grass nourishment plus melandru runes or rune of sunless… your supposingly 8 sec immob suddenly turns to a 1 second one because the immob pulses every 1.5 seconds to apply a 1.5 second immob.
since the target enemy has condi reduction, they have to only stand still for 1 second, and then simply walk out of it before the root pulses again… I think this is complete bullkitten for a 150 sec ult.

So what i was hoping for is a more reliable skill that would actually cause the person under the effect to need to destroy the root to get out, or simply make that skill a 4 second immobolize without a buggy mechanic

I want to see entangle get fixed for next patch…
Currently the mechanic is easily bypassed (ie. any type of teleport makes it useless)

This problem could easily be fixed if the vine teleports with the person trapped in it, so they actually have to destroy the vines to get out like advertised by the tooltip. (same mechanic as the karka broodlings where you still get the condition on you until you break free from it)

also the vine could have a bit more health in my opinion (since one chop from a warrior gets through it…)

but the trade off is kinda big, since i have no use for the condi duration and the boon duration part of it…

I use it for solo trapping in wvw. It allows me to have good mobility while using 3 traps, sword/dagger, and axe/torch.

Oooo good idea… i actually thought of that, but wasnt sure if it is effective enough to drop the condi dmg runes

Concept 3:
Remake the stealth concept where you can see within a 250 range INFRONT of us (180 degree radius) stealthed units….

This way thiefs actually need to “sneak around” , sort of like WOW
also prevents ppl from nuking them down before they get near (since i have to admit they are kinda squishy..)

promotes awareness of the non-thief characters, and forces you to use skilll instead of pew pewing them from a distance…

So i’m working on the personal story quest with my guardian, and i am stuck.
The part where there should be a cinematic tequatl coming out of the waters is missing tequatl…. The actual dragon is missing!! but the sound is still there… kinda odd…any ways… i just wasted 15 min doing a stupid quest that i cant finish… since there is now no objective to complete …

Just out of curiousity, I wonder if Anet deleted the orignal story animation model for tequatl when they patched it…
he’s too busy being op at sparkfly? Guess ill have to finish this when it gets fixed….
