I can confirm they were account bound before… dunno what made them change their minds. Oh well though it always gets re-account bound when you forge it in the Mystic Toilet though so if you want it on a different character, upgrade it and change it over?
I feel like it’s pretty obvious the truth of the matter is that the Sylvari people ARE actually just the jungle dragon’s minions that have been… given (?) or acquired freewill while the jungle dragon slumbered. And now that it’s woken up the Sylvari are going to have a big battle of follow your true master or find your freedom amongst the wreckage.
Which is what I think drove Scarlett mad in the first place: finding out that she was slave to the dragon all along. A puppet. A cruel irony considering her fascination with marionettes.
Ok so the FIRST option for the watchknight is the CORRECT solution. The second solution is the combat solution and the third solution, I guess, is neither (the robot just blows up). I had previously thought that the third one was the correct option for “solving” the puzzle (since you didn’t have to fight the robot) but my friend just told me that’s wrong.
So, I guess the problem here is the achievement isn’t really clear on WHAT OPTIONS are combat and which are solving the puzzle.
Which I’m guessing 90% of the people experiencing this “bug” are experiencig — they’re simply using the wrong options to complete the puzzles without any indication that they are wrong.
From the lack of a reply for Anet I’m just going to go ahead and call this a, “Screw you guys that were affected by this. We don’t care.”
Same issue here. Can’t port to floors 2 or 3 even though I had previously unlocked them.
I 100% support making the GS #2 skill a blast finisher. Honestly it’s a little ridiculous we don’t have a blast finisher on anything besides 1 pet we can’t control which is probably dead 75% of the time!
We need to get more attention on this thread and get a ton more /signs!
/signs a million times
I put up a thread about this not long ago about needing the rez skills to have the ability to revive from dead (currently I think only 1 or 2 can do that (snipped)
I don’t think any skills in the game can rez from dead. I know all the ones listed can rez from DOWNED, but if you’re actually dead-dead the only thing that can rez you is waypointing or a player standing over you and rezzing you… at least, as far as I know.
Can anyone confirm/deny if there are any rez-from-dead skills in the game?
I also agree, that they should have a rez-from-dead skill in the game; even with an absurdly long CD (5 minutes?) — even if they made it an elite skill for ALL classes (like the mistfire world. :P) it’d be balanced and fair, and with that long of a cooldown + taking up your only elite skill slot, it would be balanced imho.
I know for a fact the ele rez skill can rez from dead, it might be the only one but I thought there was another. I know it works because I just did it last night, so unless they changed it since then, it can rez from dead.
Rez a player from dead? Wiki says downed only.
All rez skills can rez NPCs from “Dead” because “dead” for an NPC is equivalent to “downed” for a player (since NPCs don’t have a downed state and can’t rally but can never actually die either.)
Probably C.

Well, you have a few minutes before loot disappears… if you can’t reasonably get to the loot in 2-3 minutes then what the heck are you doing? It doesn’t even stop combat to loot or anything.
I agree that maybe they should add an auto-pickup option for loot for people that want it (like, you walk over loot, it auto-hits the F key for you) but other than that…
I don’t see them re-designing the loot system just to appease a few players.
Anet really should add a “Report for abuse” or something similar to that affect. Seriously, this is just horrible behavior and people that do this should be banned permanently from the game.
Make sure to report them, and maybe even file a ticket, and include names of everyone involved. Anet wont ban on a first incident but people that do this kind of crap surely do it all the time and if they get a few reports of the same thing happening, they WILL get banned.
This is actually because when you enter a dungeon, that dungeon “belongs” to them and the character you seen in all the cinemas is THEM. Wouldn’t make much sense to be able to play someone else’s story without them, does it? Same thing as if you are following someone into a personal story mission; it is their instance, their story, it belongs to them. They leave, everyone else has to leave too.
This is coded at the core of the instancing system so changing it would probably require an overhaul of the instance system, and with the long list of bug-fixes and content, is unlikely.
I kind of agree… there’s no REAL challenge for the group because it’s hard to design challenges for groups of 5 people without the “holy trinity” group dynamic. The fact that aggro changes so often and whatnot means that pretty much any mob can’t 1-shot a squishy dps character without people raging.
I dunno what kind of challenges they can add to the game but personally I’d like to see more interesting boss mechanics that take timing or skill or group coordination to win instead of just “pointy end goes in the boss” and “dodge when the boss does this animation” which is what 90% of boss fights in the game are.
So, Anet recently added the daily to the side-panel so you can easily keep track of your daily, which is great and all…. but how about you give us a toggle button on ALL achievements that will go in your sidebar and let you keep track of whatever you want?
Want to keep track of your dailies? Check the box and track it. Want to keep track of your giant slayer achievement? Check the box and track it.
With the groundwork for tracking achievements pretty much already in the game, I don’t understand why this isn’t already a feature.
I think a lot of what you’re saying is true. I also think the devs know this and are trying something different with the living-story content which will play out over a long time and have many things to do and events to come.
On the other hand I do think a lot of the events have very little impact on the world besides this waypoint not being teleportable to or you can’t buy stuff from this temple etc. I think it’d be nice if they had more large events like the karka event which had really good rewards and I think they could even make those events run once every week or something and it wouldn’t be too imbalanced.
They could even make some large-scale events that take like 50 or 100 people to queue up like the start-up events do in WvW and that’d be cool because with the guesting system the way it is now, people could oragnize raids (oh yeah, raids) to do them like, for example, the dragon bosses only on a grander scale.
I have a dream of a large-scale PvE map LIKE WvW where cross-server people could go to fight a never-ending opposing force (the dragons?) and camps and things had to be constantly guarded and stuff and where depending on how the battle was going it’d actually affect the world…
Then again, that might be really hard to implement and a lot of people might hate the idea… maybe I’m just rambling.
I agree that the reward is pretty lackluster, but it goes against the devs philosophy of “play the game how you want” if you HAVE to do the story to get some EPIC reward. You can pretty much play and do whatever you want and be an equal to anyone else so if anything gave “better” or “more epic” rewards than anything else, it’d essentially be forcing people to do whatever it was.
Not that it’s not 100% balanced… like when it comes to fractals and the new laurels system that are (currently) the only way to get ascended gear… but they’re working on adding more ways to get ascended gear so that eventually no matter what you do, you will be able to get all the best gear (besides legendary weapon which isn’t better in stats, just looks, so technically it is not an advantage at all.)
The blueprints are soulbound , you can’t give them away
Actually there is a workaround for giving blueprints awy — if you take them out (they become a bundle) and then drop the bundle, someone else can pick it up and stow it and it goes into their inventory.
+10000000000000 to this. Sometimes my pet does more harm than good so being able to store them permanently would be a godsend!
Plus I think they should have a trait/ability that gave you a bonus to your damage when pet is perma-stowed so that you don’t lose TOO much damage with no pet or in situations where the pet is useless anyways (jumping puzzle fractal, I’m looking at you!)
I put up a thread about this not long ago about needing the rez skills to have the ability to revive from dead (currently I think only 1 or 2 can do that (snipped)

If this was to happen I think it would require a system that showed your true armour class in PvP, you say you can rcognise it from skills but you shouldnt have to wait for you opponant to have played out several skills at you before having any idea what they are, and if there are 5 of them? which on is which? How can you concentrate fire on one class when they all look the same (you know this would be abused). Lotro had a cosmetic armour system which let you do this but it would only show your true armour in PvP which was better.
Though I would like to make my rifle warrior to look like a samurai or a pirate, you can’t beat a pirate, especially with my pirate runes making me shout ‘yarr’ and summon parrots…
Are you talking about sPvP or WvW? Because they could just make it unable to be applied to PvP armor. As for PvE, your argument has no basis.
For WvW I think it’d be even better! Think about it. You could be a squishy running around in heavy armor and people would leave you along thinking you were a warrior or guardian and go after the squishies… XD Or! You could be a bunker guardian in cloth armor who everyone tries to kill but they can’t! HILARIOUS!

Ranger does not mean ranged fighter.
They’re a little like various real-life ranger professions, everything from park rangers to army rangers, and a lot like the DnD Ranger class and Aragorn from Lord of the Rings (which is the basis for rangers in pretty much all fantasy).
Essentially they’re a nature based profession – they reply on their own wits and resources and the environment around them to provide what they need to survive, through building traps, summoning spirits and taming wild animals to fight with them.
Rifles don’t really fit with that. Before anyone says it I’m well aware modern army rangers and even some park rangers use rifles. But in GW2 guns are still new technology, and they’re only really used by those who are interested in new gagets.
Also because they wanted to limit how many weapons each profession can use as part of giving them some variety.
Then why can a Warrior, who equivalently in your lore would be dumb and brutish, use a rifle which is some new and strange technology?
Your logic is flawed.
Where does it say that warriors are dumb and brutish? Also, how much intelligence does it take to pull a trigger?
I mean in your stereotypical idealistic fantasy world where rangers are naturalists and all that (your explanation of the ranger). In that world, warriors are also bloodthirsty, brutish, dumb, barbaric. Not that it requires intelligence to fire a gun, but you said, “But in GW2 guns are still new technology, and they’re only really used by those who are interested in new gagets.” Words out of your own mouth, so to speak. Warriors are suddenly interested in new gadgets? Uhh… no. Engineers, yeah of course. Warriors? Dumb, brutish, warriors, interested in a new technological gadget?
As I said, your logic is flawed. Warriors should be no more interested in rifles than rangers. Only reason I can see that Warriors got rifles is they needed more ranged options — or more classes that used rifles so it wouldn’t be JUST Engineers.

Warrior DPS is straight up broken. No class can compare to a greatsword warrior with not only the ability to put up huge numbers, but also to do so with cleaves on pretty much all of their attacks. There’s a video on youtube of a rifle warrior critting other players for 20K with kill shot at range, which effectively one-shots almost any class. That’s just stupid powerful, especially considering all of the abilities warriors have to get out of trouble, and high armor, and high HP. Auto-attack is doing 3-4K. Either they need a nerf, or other classes need some buffs, because as someone who plays a warrior, thief, ele and mesmer, warrior does twice as much damage as the thief and ele, and 4 times as much as the mesmer.
You’re forgetting about the poor Engineers and Rangers that are doing even less than that damage in full Zerkers when the Warrior is in tank gear —
I agree with your suggestions. Additionally, I don’t like that the first person in the instance controls whether the entire group stays in the instance. It should be the person who starts the group or else someone who is “voted” the leader. The last person invited to a group can end up being designated the leader. That is a bad mechanism.
Well actually see the problem with that is that the person that takes you in is playing THEIR story. They couldn’t do it any other way because that’s just the way it works. If you wanna be the un-kickable person, TAKE THE GROUP IN. 90% of the groups I join no one wants to walk to the dungeon or pay to port, so they enter the zone and stand there until they get pulled in. Fair enough but they’ll never be party leader that way!
As for the OP, I would agree on 3 people being needed for a kick but NOT 4. If it took 4 people then you’d be able to get locked-down by some troll and his buddy ruining your run. As it is currently, 2 trolls CAN kick everyone else in the group and that’s not cool.
I think it should take 3 votes in a group of 5, 2 in a group of 4, and 2 in a group of 3.
So, in essence, the only thing that would change currently is making a full group of 5 people take 1 more vote than it currently does, and everything else stays the same.
I strongly suggest to remove dungeon reward restrictions.
You should get full reward for every single path completed, regardless how many times you repeat it during the same day. Just because you do certain path the second time, it does not become any easier than it was for the first time. With fractals around it’s very hard to find a team of players for regular dungeons. And if that wasn’t enough, you also need to find people who hasn’t finished the path you want to do. That is just ridiculous.
If you don’t want people to grind the dungeons for some reason, then at least make it so you can get full reward three times a day, regardless of which path you finish. That way it won’t be so much of a pain to find a party (however punishing people for playing as much as they want is a failed design to begin with).
Please do not bring up gw2 lfg site, that argument is invalid. Game should be designed in such a way that you are not forced to use 3rd parties sites in order to be able to play.
Well, first off, you can get full rewards 3 times a day — you just have to do 3 different paths.
" Just because you do certain path the second time, it does not become any easier than it was for the first time."
No but other paths are easier/harder. If you could get full rewards 3 times for the same path, people would ONLY ever run ONE path in each dungeon (the easiest/least time consuming). Just because a path is harder does not mean it shouldn’t ever get played! Anet didn’t design the game to be “do the easiest/minimal amount of work for the most/maximum reward” and they’re not going to cater to that mentality!
Oh and also Anet is working on improving the in-game LFG feature so that we wont have to use a site anymore. Development of features takes time.
/do not support
I support this idea. I’m not much of a minis collector but there is one that was a gift from my girlfriend so it is kind of special to me.
; If I could have it out all the time I would. A mini equipment slot would be great for that purpose.
This is mostly a reply I typed up to https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Are-accounts-flagged-for-good-bad-loot/first#post1344407 and decided that I had written enough to put it in its own post to maybe get more readers/support.
There is currently a problem within the dungeon system that I feel a lot of players agree with: They don’t feel rewarding. I think that it feels a lot more rewarding to work towards the purchase of an item with tokens than it does just getting lucky and/or unlucky and having to grind out a certain boss until you get that lucky drop — at least gear-wise it feels this way. I’m not complaining at all about the gear system, for clarification.
A LOT of players are NOT happy about the random and often craptastic (yeah that’s a word) loot you get from chests. People will grind the hell out of dungeons often times simply for the paltry sum of gold and chance at ectos from the token-gear and this makes if feel very unrewarding because it’s all luck based — IE getting lucky vs. earning your reward through tokens.
The solution I’ve come up with is simple: Allow Ectos and (each dungeon’s specific) Lodestones to be bought with dungeon tokens. Now, think about it. People grind dungeon X to get cores/lodestones out of chests (with each dungeon having a certain lodestone that is a common-ISH drop) and, of course, buy the gear they don’t want just to salvage it for ectos… which really is sort of an abuse of the dungeon system since, aren’t you supposed to be earning your way towards your goal (for many people, a legendary) instead of grinding away endlessly?
Now, granted, research would need to be done to find the “sweet spot” of cost of tokens for such items in order to maintain balance (or restore balance, rather) in the market and allow people to feel rewarded for their time spent (something not easily obtained) but I feel like this would be a much more satisfying solution to the current problem with dungeons.
Feel free to leave comments/suggestions/improvements/whatever. Thanks for reading.
Open 5 chests.
Kill a dragon. (Dragon events)
Kill a world boss. (Fire Elemental, Shadow Behemoth, etc.)
Complete a meta event chain.
Rally 5 times.
Complete a dungeon.
Honestly I don’t really see why everyone sees a BRAND on a HORSE and immediately assumes MLP reference.
Horses existed before MLP. Brands existed before MLP. What’s the big deal?
I honestly don’t think Anet’s intention was a MLP reference at all. Moreso I think it’s that they “own” the unicorn —
First thing is first, an ascended amulet.
After that, probably going to outfit a new set of +gold ascended gear (for dungeon runs)…
After that, I dunno, maybe the tonic or the mini pets, although I don’t collect minis and tonics are all fun but probably not worth it save for the, “LOOK AT ME!” factor.
Not really, no. No real reason to ever go back. The mobs are too hard, rewards are too little. You can make much better money in dungeons and better rewards/resources in Orr.
No. I don’t feel like more levels = more gameplay. I’d rather see new zones, stories, legendaries, new things to fight, etc. Especially considering the fact that exp from events and whatnot scales, if they added more levels it would be inconsequential to actual gameplay and would just result in a higher max-level of gear which would essentially make worthless all of our current gear and progress.
So, essentially, no, NOT EVER.
Snipped for space
Why they refuse to implement a super majority vote kick policy is beyond stupid its blatant incompetence.
yup should take every one in the group except the party getting kicked saying yes before kicking should be possible.
Well, see the problem with this suggestion of taking 4 out of 5 people to kick anyone is fundamentally flawed based on the fact that if 2 people joined a group together, they would be impossible to kick. Even in the case that they were horrible players, refused to follow the group, aggroed every mob possible, didn’t follow the game mechanics, caused constant wipes to the group, and were disrespectful to everyone else in the group, they would not be able to be kicked. THEN you would have people complaining in the forums about THAT and begging Anet to fix the kick system.
Personally I would say that 3/5, 2/4, 2/3 would be a good compromise, which really is only changing the situation in a full party and remains exactly the same in every other possible group composition.
So, instead of saying, “super majority” how about we just ask Anet to make it 3/5 instead of 2/5?
Personally I’ve always disliked the idea of 2 random people being able to join a group and kick everyone else. Especially considering the fact that anyone can invite anyone else to the group, 1 person could join, invite their friend, and the 2 of them could proceed to kick the other 3 people in the party — that’s not fair or balanced.
As for the issue of abstentions counting towards their vote is a moot point. People being kicked are not made aware that there is a vote going on, and they do NOT get a vote in the game as the whether or not they should be allowed to stay. That is a fact and is not up for debate.
Why they refuse to implement a super majority vote kick policy is beyond stupid its blatant incompetence.
It’s already a majority vote. Think about it and do the math: There are 5 people in the group. One person votes to kick one other person. The person voting to be kicked obviously doesn’t get a vote because: A)They can’t see that they are being vote-kicked and 2) If they could vote they would obviously vote no. So, since they person being kicked doesn’t get a say in the matter, really there are only 4 maximum possible valid voters in any given situation. It requires 2 votes to kick someone. 2 out of 4 is what? 50%.
Super majorities are defined in the American parlance as a two-thirds majority, or 66%. Do the math, 50% does not equal 66%.
Yes, cut off my quote there and completely ignore everything else I said in my post. Good job.
Why they refuse to implement a super majority vote kick policy is beyond stupid its blatant incompetence.

Unless you’re saying that it should require 3 votes to kick which would be a minimum of 75% to kick…
Although then what would happen when the group only has 4 people? It’d be 100%.
And when the group has 3 people? Then you couldn’t kick anyone.
And well, if the group has 2 people and you’re trying to kick the other person, you’ve got problems and you should really just leave group instead.
As the system currently is, if there are 3 people in a group, the other 2 people can kick the last person if they so wish.
As for the main topic at hand, this has always actually been an issue with Fractals and well, all dungeons in general. Although I am pretty sure Anet’s stance on this is that kicking people at the end of a dungeon is a punishable act although they don’t ban people on their first infraction. If this happens to you, I’d just report the people in the party and move on. Eventually people that do this as common practice will get perma-banned from the game for it.
All I’m reading in this game is dooms-day and nay-sayers. Give Anet time! You guys aren’t even giving them adequate time to flesh out the game you’re just like, “GIVE ME WHAT I WANT NOW!” and when they don’t you QQ.
TLDR; good things come to those who wait.
While I do agree they should add more ways to get ascended gear, I personally don’t feel like FotM is where they should add it. Due to that fact that a lot of people (myself included) have already farmed tons of relics and many just sitting around, if they added anything to FotM now then we could easily just buy it since we already have the tokens. They want to add NEW ways that everyone will have to do and experience so that no one can just immediately get it from things they have done in the past.
If they added amulets to FotM then that wouldn’t give anyone a reason to do anything to keep playing the game so it’d be counter-productive to the game environment and the players themselves would get bored quicker.
Sure, the new dailies have recieved some backlash but I think doing anything is a step in the right direction as long as they keep listening to the player’s and try to make the game as best as they can I don’t think anyone can really get mad. After all, they ARE still adding content and developing for the game so GW2 definitely has a long future ahead of it.
usually every other MMORPG i have been around and trust me i have been around just about every major release. when patch day comes around there are tons of class fixes whether it be buffs or nerfs.
the only time you see ONLY bug fixes is when a class is considered fairly balanced. with a big company like Anet and only us getting bug fixes this tells me to them the classes are fine where they are.
The devs have already stated they want to fix all existing bugs in all of the classes before they do any major adjustment as far as damage/redesign skills/whatever goes because there’s no way to know if a class (or a certain skill) is really weak or over powered if a bunch of other skills don’t work at all or work but aren’t doing what they should because of a bug. Once all the classes are bug-free then you can go ahead and expect buffs/nerfs but until then just expect a lot of bug fixes and minor tweaks here and there.
The only thing I can suggest to Anet on this matter would be if you are transfering from a higher population server to a lower population server, I think you should get a discount. So like right now it is 500, 1000, 1800 right? So say you are in a very high server and you are transfering to a medium server I think instead of 500 gems it should give you a 50% discount so it’d only be 250 gems. This would encourage people to transfer out of the larger servers and fill up the less-populated servers if they were not happy with their server because then the servers that are very taxed by all the people playing WvW would get a break and the ones that don’t have enough people that WvW would get some more eager players to participate.
Since obviously WvW is the only reason to transfer (everything else can be done through guesting) then it’d eventually even out all of the servers to being medium to high instead of a few very high and a few low.
You know, Anet should really make a setting for people like you to be able to disable to “glops”. If they did that then everyone could be happy… ha… haha… hahahaha…. XD
Personally I think they’re just really trying to discourage all those WvW guilds from jumping ship every week. If they made it too low them it’d be a joke.
Plus with the addition of guesting, the only thing you CAN’T do on EVERY server out there regardless of your home server, is WvW.
So really, why should anyone want to move servers now? Period. PERIOD. There’s no reason to other than to play WvW on a different server.
Good job Anet! I welcome this change whole-heartedly. Now people have to stick to a server for better or worse. This will finally actually build up community around the servers as being a HOME.
It appears they do not come with agony resistance.
I think they should make them come with agony resistance. Just 4 stats on an infusion is next to useless. Who is really gonna waste their time with just 4 stats?
A better idea might be the ability to transfer XP from one character to another. There are lots of ways of doing this, but one might be equipping a special item that when activated, “absorbs” any experienced gained. This item can then be transferred and consumed to gain the amount of stored XP.
This is a “feature” in a LOT of Pay-to-win MMOs and it only imbalances the game because then paying players can “instantly” level a character from 1-80.
I highly suggest Anet NEVER introduces Exp Orbs or anything similar or equivalent.
It will launch at some point before 23:59pm PST. Anet is based on the West Coast, so as long as they launch it before midnight PST, it’s still considered to be January 28.
It’s great that they give dates according to where they’re situated, it might even appear to make sense. However, a huge part of this game’s player base (half by rough estimation) is located in non US timezones.
Those players will see the 28th and they wont think, “oh, wait, ANet is West Coast so that means according to timezone differences…”. No, a player will see the 28th and obviously expect the content on that date, they’re 28th. When the update finally hits the 29th, the non US players will feel cheated.
Yes because a company is supposed to give a date/time for every timezone in the world to better accommodate the player’s schedule instead of just sticking to their own.
Makes sense.
Wait no.
If you ask me they might as well just say, “Some time before January ends.” JUST BECAUSE of people like you that COMPLAIN when they do give a date. THIS IS WHY they don’t give dates out for most of the stuff they release!
IMHO: GW2 jumping puzzles are meant to be challenges of the mastery of the controls of the game and your character. They aren’t designed to be just jump-jump-jump-finish. Certain ones will test your skill in avoiding enemies, making difficult jumps and/or knowing when you need to use a speed boost skill to get that extra foot so you don’t fall to your death. Furthermore, as the name suggests, some of them will be flat-out puzzles on how you are supposed to complete them, and that’s all part of the fun. Personally I’ve loved every single jumping puzzle in the game save for 1; the more difficult the better in my opinion. So sure, the camera is wonky and sure some of the jumps require split-second timing, but that’s all part of the fun and challenge. To take those aspects out and to water them down to the point that anyone can complete them without falling a few times and learning something would be so bad, they might as well just remove them from the game at that point.
Upgrade Emerald Pendant to Ascended Knight Amulet.
Upgrade Ruby Pendant to Ascended Beserker Amulet.
Upgrade Sapphire Pendant to Ascended Shamens Amulet.Upgrade Triforge to a uniquly named Ascended Celestial Amulet. (That shouldn’t be obtainable elsewhere easily).
I want to know whats going to happen to weapons like Foefires Essence and Volcanus, as these require a lot of resources to make and would be tedious if they stayed as exotic. IMO these should be easily upgradable to Ascended.
Well, see, the thing is, those weapons are SKINS. You can easily get a junk weapon with the same stats with a crap skin for WAY less. So honestly, you’re not paying for the stats, you’re paying for the SKIN. When ascended weapons come out you’ll have to earn one JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE and if you want, you can re-transmute the skin back on to your ascended weapon.
That should say dynamic level adjustment system, way back in the day we called that the sidekicking system and that snuck through to the website.
How it did so without any of us noticing is an enigma wrapped in a paradox, surrounded in a mystery.
I’m guessing the name came from the idea that a lvl 80 toon could go wander around with a lvl 10 toon as their “sidekick?”
Actually it was the other way around, that a level 10 could join a party with a level 80 and be upscaled as their sidekick. This idea was ultimately scrapped.

i’ve done all monthlies since launch but won’t be doing this one at all. **** finding 30 puzzles… no playing gw2 to alt/tab youtube every 5 minutes.
You know you don’t actually have to do the jumping puzzles to get credit, right? You just have to go to the beginning area of the puzzle. Also, you can do each puzzle (walking to the beginning) on each character you own. Also, overflow and regular maps count as different puzzles so they both give credit.
Knowing all this, you could take each character you own to the 3 puzzles inside LA (takes all of 3 minutes since free ports!) and get 3 JPs done per character. If you do this in overflow and regular that’s 6 JPs per character. If you have 5 characters that’s 30 JPs done. There you go, monthly done.
You’re essentially asking for us to predict the future here. There’s really only 2 options: either you need an exotic amulet and some other ascended materials to craft up to ascended; or you don’t need anything but some ascended materials (like fractal relics and junk) to craft ascended amulets. If it’s the former, then having the tri-forge pendant to up-craft is the only way. HOWEVER, if it’s the latter, get the tri-forge pendant will essentially screw you out of a LOT of hard-earned gold.
If you want Anet’s official response that they’ve used many times about this issue, is that people that obtained/bought/whatever X item/feature/whatever before it was obtainable by/replaced/made obsolete by whatever had the advantage of using that item before whatever did whatever it did to make old item hereby easier to obtain/obsolete/replace. So, by adopting early you’re pretty much always screwing yourself.
Case in point although somewhat different was when they put the digital deluxe edition on sale, people complained because if they had waiting then they would have saved money. Anet said that since they bought the game at full price earlier, then they had the benefit of being able to play the game prior to the other people and therefore got a lot of benefit (such as experiencing the halloween, lost shores, and wintersday events) out of the game.
In other words, if you buy the triforge pendant now and then it becomes useless later, you’re not going to get any sympathy/refund/etc.
TLDR; wait, or prepare to suffer. Your choice.
Have you done the math to compare selling the potent blood and using that money to buy more powerful blood instead of up-crafting? You might find that you save time/money/skillpoints by just selling what you don’t need and buying what you do. Just a thought.
