Halloween Rewards "Candy Corn Gobbler"

Maybe it was a way they found to make candy corns have kittene after halloween, they were too many on TP on the first year event.. And as a Gobbler owner, I can tell you it becomes useless, because it consumes SO many candy corns… and you get a random buff, sometimes you don’t even get the buff you want (karma seems to be very unlikely to come).
I usually carry a stack of candy corns but most times I end up with hours of exp boost and 15 minutes of the buff I actually wanted. Not to mention that it requires the player to be out of combat.. let’s say you wanna use it during fractals.. people won’t really wait 10 minutes while you click on the Gobbler until you get the buff you want. If you get it on the first tries, consider yourself lucky lol.. You will soon get in combat (willingly or not), and won’t be able to consume it..

EDIT: I forgot to tell you it has a long cooldown for something that gives you random boost or random tonic forms.. you can’t even click fast on it until you get what you want >.>

If they bring it back :/ I hope they rework this combat idea and the amount of time on exp boost over other boosts….

Asset Downloader Crash

Hello, I think I found a solution for this issue !

My friend hasn’t been able to log for more than a month, we tried everything you can possibily think of to try to update his client, I even sent him a copy of my own .dat file so he could play until the next update (which was the LS3).

On the LS3 release though, the client didn’t update and I thought that sending him the dat file every time would just be a band-aid on the issue.

So there are two solutions:

1) Have a nice friend to send you a copy of the updated client and you can play right away

OR

2) Bypass your http proxy using a program named Ultra Surf. This program is used to change your proxy, you can find many guides on the internet/YouTube on how to use it. Make sure to use a proxy from some other country, you can find these public proxy on internet as well.

Using Ultra Surf and a random public american proxy on it did solve my friend’s issue regarding the client update. So he updates the client through the program, and after it he resets his proxy to default and play on his regular internet.

I hope this can help others : ) <3

Bug on The Ascension Backpiece ?

Today I finally made my Ascension backpiece, but when I equipped it on my asuras though.. It covers most of my characters face when it is wielding a weapon, like the wings are curved down.. please fix it(

Mine vanished too, the achievement is still on the tab and showing it is complete but the chest itself from the home instance.
Up on this topic because this home instance item is waaaaaaay too much expensive to make to just simply vanish…. >.> but I hardly doubt they will look at it as a priority taking in consideration how many bugs are in need of fix..(

I’d like to ask if there will be a way to transform the Mighty Infusions (those with 5 power and +5 AR) on the upgraded versions of them like we can now with the versatile ones (5 AR only)..

To make one it requires:

20 Mystic Coins
50 Philosopher’s Stones
250 Passion Fruits
100Vial of Powerful Blood (which is why I am asking, it is expensive to make them)

I made them prior to the expansion patch but now it seems like they will be out of place, when I will need more AR for the higher tiers of fractals..

I know I can remove them but seems like they will go to waste this way? Or at least give a way to reverse the recipe( Other people may have the healing infusions, or precision, those are expensive too to make..

you can unequip and re-equip the backback, he’ll start talking again. once you leave the area/instance you have to do it again though

thanks! but still id like to have it fixed, i know there’s more severe bugs on the game atm but this isnt a free item..its a paid one :/ people buy it because it talks and now its silent lol

it did work re-equipping it but it sucks to do it all the time :s anyway thanks a lot, im less sad now that it talks again, sort of.

Trying to promote my T5 materials into T6 using the formula given on wiki, somehow today I couldn’t promote Vial of Potent Bloods into Vial of Powerful Bloods, I’m sure I used the right recipe because I did it to all other kinds of mats that I had, bones, claws, fangs etc. Just the powerful blood recipe seems to be glitched, when I try to add the mats on the mystic forge, it doesnt allow me to forge.

1x t6, 50x t5, 5x philosopher stones, 5x crystalline dusts.

I can add the t6, t5 and dusts but it wont let me add the stones.

The new system is good for those learning, but for those that are already used, its a bit messy, to scroll over a list to pick up the last trait, its a bit of an annoyance …

IDEA>>> how about leave the list on the side for the new players BUT still keep the old hover thing on traits for old players? cause I was used to pick stuff quick while doing dungeons, now theres this list i have to keep scrolling up and downzZZZz…

I don’t know if there was a warning about trans splitters not being on the shop anymore, but today I wanted to buy one and apparently it’s not being sold anymore.. yet repair canisters that will be less needed from now on are being sold still..

Again, Rubble Piles only count once per account in the Meta. There are 40 piles spread out across the map. You need to visit “unique” locations to get credit, so doing the same piles that you already visited will not count.

I was missing 8 heirlooms for the AP and I got 10 in a row but the achievement didn’t progress, did anyone notice this too today? I’m sure I didn’t get heirlooms last night after reset btw, as I interacted with the piles I got 1 heirloom, it just didn’t make any progress.

The mechanics are awesome, for those that enjoy learning new things from every patch, that wanna improve their skills, to have a new challenge to do.

These people are being punished though, because in order to get their achievements, or just to succeed the event, they have to expect that the people who are clueless about their role on the game succeed doing their job.

This sort of worked on Scarlet’s invasions because it mixed what this kind of player usually enjoy, the mindless grind and fast reward, with the events that would turn into achievements. So they’d come there and kill things and succeed. It wasn’t really something that required some skill from anyone, people were just tagging things. This doesnt work with the marionette though.

What I see now is people not even minding the aggro that spawns near the portals, they wanna kill the lane aggro that comes on front, and just keep changing lanes to get more keys.

It’s nice that the developers wanna raise the average player skill by giving them challenges, but that should be their option if they wanna improve or not, and if they decide still that they wont change their utilities to be more helpful to other people or retrait, that this wont affect other people that actually do that..

A lot of people here just get on to become uncle scrooge, farm champ, farm nodes, play TP, earning money without learning how to play with a team .. and its their choice to do that.

Now if the idea is to teach players to be better, then its not a challenge in specific that should be put there for them to be faced.. then the whole game should be more challenging, this way they would be ‘forced’ to be better every day til theyd succeed… make them learn to dodge since low levels, make them know that they should trait their characters to different situations, make them not be able to put all 5 signets together would be nice also >_>"" (maybe give a limit to this idk…) because then theyd be forced to fill other slots with something else thats not for just themselves, maybe give people a limit of how many times they can rez because i see parties on dungeons that rez rez rez people from the ground til the boss dies, no strategy, one just rezing the other one. So whyd they dodge if someone can get them any time? the death penalty doesn’t seem to be enough to teach people to dodge attacks, since they know someone will get them up if they dont dodge and eventually get on fight to survive..

Some ideas from GW1 should have been brought here, the 15% penalty on your health there made people understand that dying too much is bad and u gotta do something about it or you will fail everyone. Getting to 60% would be insta failure for everyone, so people had to learn to succeed.

Making the game in general harder would maybe make people to learn how to coop with others instead of play for themselves.

One week has passed, I got to face lane 5th challenge 2 times only, been trying it everyday for a couple hours everyday, and I didn’t get my achievement, because people did not improve this whole week apparently..

Story Mode Requirement
This serves no purpose. I will never do story mode for any dungeon, and I know many players who wont. Not only that, you want me to do it on every character? Everybody around is already skipping this. “LFG Need Opener”. Someone else with Dungeon Master is going to open the dungeon for us anyway. People are just disbanding groups and kicking each other until they find someone who can open, they are not going to do story mode to unlock the dungeon unless you buff the reward for story mode. Cant this mechanic simply be removed and giving us access to explorable mode when we reach the required level?

I’m quite sure this is for people that likes the lore? Also to give new players some idea of what they will find on the explorable modes (for beginners). If everyone shared this thought of not doing story modes, no one would do explorable too..

Soulbound Equipment
Why not make everything Account Bound instead? This makes the game really alt-unfriendly. If you get a dungeon-only sigil on the character that is running the dungeon, it is Soulbound on Acquire, meaning you cannot even use it on a different character. Account Bound equipment already exist in the game, such as Ancient Karka Shell. Another issue is deleted characters, if you placed a Soulbound Equipment in your Bank, none of your other characters can ever take it out. Arenanet already took the first step towards removing Soulbound Equipment with Infinite Gathering Tools, why not just do the rest?

Then people would farm 1350 tokens for a set and never come back to dungeons or
come to it less often.. since most people use exotic things yet.

Having less people doing dungeons every day, the amount of ectos available on the trading post would be less, also less exotic insignias and inscriptions available (making it harder for those that wanna level up jobs).

Less ectos on TP would make them more expensive, meaning you would have to pay a lot more for something that requires ectos, such as crafted armors/weapons, or legendaries that uses a lot of them..

This would have a huge impact really if things were account bound. Not to mention you’d be bored soon because you’d run out of goals in game faster..

Characterbound Dyes
Specially with the new gemstore dyes, this is a daunting task to get the right colors for your characters. I want to make a Warrior with the same colors as my Guardian, but getting the same dyes I currently have on my main would cost 300+ gold. This is just for dyes alone. Half a precusor worth of dyes. Just estimating this makes me immediately give up on making a Warrior, which means I will not be buying Gemstore Armor for my nevermade Warrior, along with so many more items(Transmutation Crystals, Makeover Kits) that I will never buy from the gemstore. This reduces your profit and my fun. How about we both benefit from this instead?

A lot of people dont buy gems to support the game and keep it running, special dyes on the shop and other things they add there help it to keep running without charging us for monthly fees.. If it was acc wise, they’d earn less money. They offer us some quality service there for something that you only pay once.

This mechanic alone has caused more grief to players than any other out there. I can have Ring of Red Death and Ring of Red Death(Infused) equipped at the same time anyway… This mechanic has caused more work for your support team to fix than any other. Is this mechanic’s sole purpose to provide work for your support team so you can claim to have good customer service? At least 1 person in map chat complains about having bought the wrong ring every week. What is the purpose of this mechanic really?

Please only discuss the purpose of each of the above mechanics, and the reason for them to exist.

reason behind it it’s because of the offensive infusion slot .. being OP with versatile mighty infusions isn’t for everyone cause its pricy to make them right now.

ep getting disconnected the same way after the whole verification :/

Reading on really old posts from the forum, i saw someone from arena net saying something like

make a new shortcut from gw and add /clientport 80 outside the " "
like -> “D:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” /clientport 80

it solved my issue :} no more disconnects with this

Try to:
Check the game for errors and repair it

  • Close your game completely.
  • Next, make a copy of your Gw2 game shortcut and rename it “GW2 Repair” or to something that you will recognize it for being only for running a repair on your GW2 installation.
  • Now, right-click this “Gw2 Repair” shortcut and click on “Properties”.
  • On the “Shortcut” tab look in the “Target:” field, you should see:
    “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2” or wherever you have Guild Wars 2 installed.
  • After the closing quotation marks in this line put a space and then add -repair
    It will look like this but with your GW2 install location:
    “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2” -repair
  • Hit OK after making this change.
  • Run this repair shortcut. Your game will run through a repair cycle and fix any damaged files it finds.
  • After it runs through, start the game using the normal GW2 game shortcut (not the repair shortcut) and see if your game runs properly.

Well I guess I’m not the only one, other people share the same thought apparently..

I still didn’t have a chance to get the 5th lane achievement because people can’t dodge on lane 2 and it goes to 3, 4 and eventually it fails… and I spent a good amount of time ‘relying on others’ to get it. I’ve been on other lanes to help so maybe I would get to see the 5th lane phase 2, but nope.

Or maybe the description should have been clearer then, if it’s the case of having to succeed the whole thing in order to be getting the dodge achievements, instead of just saying dodge it to get it.

Or maybe make just one achievement worth for all, “All or Nothing (135)”.

Yea since yesterday’s patch I’ve been getting random disconnects whenever I try to load on a different map, or leave an instance or switch to another character.

This goes back to the fact that this forces you to come back to do something you would be done with already..

If they want to keep people playing the content it should be because its fun and not because someone else can’t keep themselves alive during the event.. They’re making you come back for the wrong reasons then..

Imagine if daily dodger demanded your entire group to succeed dodging too so you’d be able to get credit for it. And if someone failed you would have to start all over again.

Not to mention that the achievement that you have to beat her already includes cutting the chains.. Aka succeeding on lanes

It’s not crying over it, if your fast you get it if not then don’t get it.. This forces you to do over and over something that you would be already done with if this only mattered your skills.

The point is that dodging has nothing to do with the other people success on lanes.
You guys, Cina and Phoenix, are just twisting it.

The achievement you get by beating her yea I agree, if one fail then no one should get it, but it’s a dodging achievement.. No reason to not allow it.

I understand that to get these achievements every platform must succeed on the event, but the achievement is supposedly something personal.. (or at least I thought it was, until then).

If I dodge it correctly it should give me the achievement. What does it have to do with other people failling on their lanes? This isn’t fair.. The achievement is about not getting hit by the marionette attacks, not about succeeding the platforms.. (?)

Why punish everyone because some people couldn’t survive their phase 2?
I mean I’m having to repeat this over and over even dodging it right because other people can’t do their job :/

For example Tequatl achievements, even if everyone wipe during it I can still dodge the tail attack, it doesn’t require me to beat Tequatl to have the dodge tail AP.

Can we have a change on this please?

Yesterday while I was in a level 38 fractal, my party and I got a bug at Mai Trin stage.

We removed her stacks, to be able to hit her, everything went just like it should until the first cannon wave would end (when she hits 75% of her HP)..

Horrik disappeared and started the cannon waves again, endlessly, while Mai Trin was below with us. There were no electric fields from him to remove her stacks so she was pretty much invincible.

We wiped to see if the bug would just go away, but she behaved the same way after the first cannon wave. And we even tried to remove her stacks ASAP after the 2nd wave before she’d glitch again, but it was hopeless. It happened as soon as the cannon wave ended, we had no time to do anything, Horrik already went away and the endless cannon wave started.

I thought maybe it was a bad day.. Today I tried again, level 38 fractal and sadly I got Mai Trin again as final stage. She was again bugged, running around while the cannon waves were going on endlessly.

Please take a look at this bug, it’s really frustrating to go all the way through fractals that are longer than a regular dungeon path, to not be able to finish because this wasn’t tested before release.

We will be downleveled on fractals and it will become account wise.
Why not make the agony resist account wise too? Like MF Karma and Gold find?

My point on asking this is because most people already don’t have agony over 40-45 on one character, even more on multi characters.
If fractals will get harder it will be even harder for people to get to 55 AR, and probably disencouraging to do it on other characters as well.

I have 5 different classes on lvl 80 but I can only play on higher levels on 2, because it’s just too much effort / money to make the 55 AR on them all, and rewards, let’s be honest, most times, aren’t worthy the 250 ectos you put in your backpack.

A change from Procedural to Serialized drama

We have been receiving patches every 2 weeks for a while now, keeping people busy until the next patch, either with the living world achievements that comes with every patch or the mindless zergs on champions in the middle of the trash mobs…

It is nice that ArenaNet is trying to keep content coming but, is it good content? Is it worthy to do it? Is it fun?

I mean, I rather wait for longer to receive something more interesting to do later on.

The story seems to be going anywhere for a while, and in my opinion, it’s no different from other entertainment things such as TV shows, movies etc. If you don’t come up with something interesting soon, people won’t want to keep going with it.

Before, while waiting for for the story to continue I’d keep myself busy with the achievement points.. I was an avid person for the AP’s for every patch, like on the the Sky Pirates update, it was great, and quite challenging, worth to be called an achievement. I’d gather friends to keep trying the hardest achievements, but lately, anyone and anything goes, most are grinding AP’s, just follow the zerg.

Since Scarlet’s patches came, it seems like that most AP’s are for grinding.. kill 100 of this and that, kill something with a certain buff, now kill the same ones on different maps, attend to invasions which were a grind feast for champions. Queen’s Jubilee patch was like the beginning of the boring AP’s with the kill things in the pavillion with the specific buff.. I know it doesn’t take long to do them but really, it’s not fun to follow zergs killing things, using brain muscle not brain power.

Not to mention this makes new players think that everything on the game is just jump in the middle of things and press buttons, because thing’s die in a heartbeat with zergs. I had a couple friends that started on the game recently and they are already with a few lvl 80 characters (due to leveling up tagging things on zergs for AP’s) but they have no idea how to use their class to help the party or themselves when it comes to dungeon for example. Because then it’s not 100 people it’s just 5.

Where are the challenging AP’s on every patch to keep people busy? Before I’d take a week to complete them, and lately I get them done if not on the same day, on the next… I believe I’m not the only person who is disappointed with these sort of AP’s on patches..

Not to mention this bug crashing people while they try to do dungeons (that are still fun for those who dont enjoy living world). I know this started now and that ArenaNet is working to solve it but, this really made me think that maybe 2 weeks isn’t enough to bring quality content and even more, to test it.

Here I am writting all this while I could be doing fun things in the game, but I already finished yesterday’s patch AP’s and I can’t join dungoens with my friends from other servers, or anyone at all..

I really liked how it was before, because I used the key to find the closest target quite often, for example to find a flower to rally in TA. But now… it just targets whatever it wants .. aka boss or vets..

What’s the purpose of having a key that is supposed to look for the closest target that does not show you the closest target? Really? :S

1) A more useful mini map – For example, on GW1 you could see the aggro dots on the map and their range towards you. Currently all you see are nodes and npcs, party members and commanders.

Some people don’t even look at drawings on it while inside instances because they are used to it being kind of useless.

2) Give us a specific option to go straight to Traits tab? I believe a lot of people would like to have a button assigned to the Trait window, because during instances people do change traits

3)Weapon sets – Because opening the hero tab to change my combination of weapons is just a killer, huge window popping whenever i wanna change

World 2-1 Hidden Rooms

As I get inside the first hidden room behind a waterfall right in the begining, there used to be a red bauble there, but theres not. (tried to get it a couple times)

As i get inside the second hidden room behind the other waterfall for the small JP over geysers, they dont show.. whats going on? Anyone else having this problem?

Once a friend bought full CoF armor set for medium when he wanted it for light. He sent a ticket, they said, unfortunatelly there is nothing that we can do about it. That is why every time you buy something from these vendors it asks you if you want it before it purchases.. but still happens :/

Sick of the bugged partys!

Once when I reported a problem I got an answer like this : Post it on the forum so everyone will be aware of it and this way something can be done about it.

Today I lost one hour in front of the game trying to be able to see my party (and so did the others in the same party) by relogging, logging out and in again, leaving and reinviting in the party, sometimes this witchcraft doesnt even work. You’re just bugged come back tomorrow.

This bug in particular kills a lot of the time that you may have to play during your day just because the party members won’t show on your screen.

I mean I could still play without seeing anyone, but I wouldnt know if theyre downed to help, or if theyre moving ahead.. sort of kills the purpose of being on a party?

I appreciate that the dev team keeps working on solving glitches such as people exploiting walls inside dungeons and things like that but maybe put a little more effort on this one now? It’s not like if this is something new.. from the last update or something.. it’s been a few months like this..

510/511 waypoints

New way points that I found after last update (march 1st i think?)
I had 100% of all maps and today i was with 99% >:(

1- at Plains of Sshford, heading south from the Guardpoint Deciums Waypoint
(it won’t show on map unless you get inside this place.. then it will suddenly show you that you got a new waypoint)

2- at Brisban Wildlands, around the Gallows Fields..

Both of them leads to guild puzzles.

I miss Carrion items as well.
I wrote to the support guys on “Feedback” ticket, telling them I feel really sad about the Carrion items being removed from the ascended gear, asking them why is it not there?

The answer was…… show your opinion on the forums so we find out what others think as well.

I dont think it’s difficult to see that others will feel disappointed with the ascended gear not matching their build / character because the item attributes combination just won’t exist anymore.

I thought maybe it’s some kind of nerfing so people don’t stack too much power vit condition dmg? But what’s wrong with that though? Because berserker people will keep stacking more power precision and critical damage as well? It’s not like if it would be something unfair, some will have more direct damage some will give more condition damage and some will have more health or more toughness?

But maybe its just a way for them to say “Ok guys, you’ve played a long time as a carrion/valkyrie gear toon and now its time to move on if you want to get the new ascended gear” ?

I’m happy they want to add other attributes combinations to people so they can try new builds to adapt their character / build to ascended gear… but why not let this be a decision made by the player ? If he wants to stick with the build and gear hes already playing or if he wants to try other ones with different?

It’s like a bad joke … You want more condition damage don’t you? We got ascended items.. but you will have to forget vitality forget power if you want it.. Instead we give you free toughness that you never wanted and a few precision points that won’t add anything to your condition damage!! Great deal isn’t it?

In my defense, I play as a necromancer ever since the beta, I really love the condition damage being like a plague on monsters.
I still play as a necromancer even though sometimes I don’t even get credit for killing things on my own like if I never damaged it, because I chose to be a condition damage character (example: veterans, solo group events, champions etc.).. even with this happening at times i’d still want to keep with my necro as a condition damage…

But now im forced to move to other kind of gear if i want ascended items and have a bit more of condition damage for my character. So its basically like if im wearing an ascended item of one useful attribute. I gain but I lose, while other kinds of gear still have the 3 attributes as something useful for their character..

I take longer to kill things since im condition so it was lovely to have vitality together and power..
The items that seems more likely to be used now for a carrion user, are a mix of toughness, precision and condition damage.

Please bring the other items back too!!
Arena net, please let us choose instead of restrict us?
