To be honest, gw2 will never be able to come back, even tho it has perfect balance system.

The biggest reason is “the time that anet rekt their game” was too miraculous in terms of the release of Blade and Soul.

Many people already moved to that game so it become 3x harder for anet to recover its past glory. And soon even Overwatch by Blizzard releases, and Black Desert Online..

Thus such own business mechanic suggested by OP will only rise with new gw3, and hope anet does that perfectly in the future without being p2w or b2w game, which we see now.

Anet need to sell HoT, thus they will always make elite spec generally OPer than core spec.

To just sum up,
what anet did is simply described as following that, they removed diversity from the game and i see this game is currently no different than those game with no build diversity (or very limited), such as BnS, Tera and etc..

And think, here is a real important point,

if there is no build diversity which was special merit that we can only see in this game uniquely, but not in other games, then what’s the point of playing gw2 since balance is even worse than those games with no build diversity? As gw2 is also same game that forces people playing meta to let them win matches, and has no build diversity since elite spec is OPer than core.

This is why i am taking long break from gw2 until i see equality and diversity between core and elite spec.

But even the diversity allowed, removing build like dd cele ele was wise decision, or they could just nerf dd cele ele a bit more not to make all dd cele eles completely quit the game instead of completely removing cele ammy.

But anyway, this is already “done project”.

The reason why you guys have frequent 50% winrate is becuz you guys share meta build.
This game is also called Build Wars 2 build. Build does affect minimum 33% in your winrate upto 70%.

This is real reason.

To have more than 50% or less than 50% depends on how you can run build very well and also, rotation, personal skills and etc. but mostly build.

if you want to have like clear 70%~or sometime 80% winrate, develop amazing build yourself, and never share.

anothr way to have more than 50% winrate is getting premade with good skilled friends.

BnS is pretty good (read: awesome compared to GW2).

Actually that is problem of gw2. GW2 seem having huge balance issue everytime they implements something new patch due to so many classes and so many build diversity.

BnS is quite simple as compared to gw2, but idk, i found that game no depth as compared to gw2, but much more balanced than gw2. Becuz it is hard for ncsoft dev to balance as long as their game remains simple.

If you were dev what would you select?
1. Implement diversity, and have balance issue everytime you implement something new, resulting in people quit the game. But generally, game with diversity is more fun than simple game when balance is perfect.

2. Make game simple, less build dependant game like BnS or LoL.

well idk. Having diversity is good and the main point why we play this game but sometimes it is disaster when it gets too complicated for even devs to balance their game.

Problem it is not sometimes, balance issue has been already 4months from the release of hot last year. In this case i think dev has no capability to balance their game, so they have to make their game simpler like BnS.

this balance suggestion makes most sense so far, but no “banner finishes downed enemy”? Endure pain to 45 looks little op, 50 would be fine. but Berserker stance from 55 to 50 as well.

And yeah, tactics minor 10% revive speed should do something more in terms of support. That need to be buffed.

Game is dead. Pro League players are only sticking around because they’re getting paid. Streamers such as Helseth, Tdm, and others who play GW2 enjoy BnS more. Almost everyone that I know have quit this game.

yesterday i was watching TDM’s, i believe tapdatmouse, twitch and he said reason why he doesn’t play gw2 was becuz he just don’t want to participate in esports stuff.

I think he pretty much like to just have regular pvp without esport level of seriousness and some duels.

Well i kinda agree.

Becuz if the game pushes its people to get into esports, it will be a lot harder for steamer to show his/her win to his/her streamer, unless the streamer is real real pro-gamer.

So implementing esports stuffs unless the game has like league of legends level of player base wouldn’t be good idea.

Btw TDM also been doing amazing job in blade and souls as well. Haha

game is not dead yet but become worse state than before. What made anet to such state i guess is following:

1. Anet made core part open to f2p users and HoT for p2w users exclusively. This will never make new players valuable but become a feed of p2w users. Thus it makes f2p meaningless cuz under this logic anet cannot welcome their new users.

2. They mostly balance their game with their guild chat with their restricted esl players or reedit (from my guess). And i see many opinions going there is biased. Resulting in game unbalanced, therefore many thief, warrior players quit the game during season 1.

3. Too many changes, in last 2 years they kittened shoutbow, dd ele builds as well as lots of new builds came out. This changes made many common user result in exhausted in this game, cuz they don’t wannna spend new more time to be familiar with new build for this 4 years old game.

4. Pro league with tier system. this is honestly just fail. This will never work. I saw many twitch streamer quit gw2 for this reason a lot, and what they say is mostly like “idk, i just don’t play gw2 becuz of anet starting esports or whatevrr, i don’t want to esports…” this kinda thing and they went to Blade and Soul.

Our HoT exoansion also applies both p2w and b2p, since you need to have expansion to play its content and also increase your winrate. but since we talk about balance stuffs on pvp forum, we disregard pve stuffs, which is about b2p, thus only p2w remains. Thus is p2w.

But anet doesn’t require you to buy a copy of their game to play normal pvp?? And 90% of the elite specs are ON PAR with cores specs. So how is gw2 anything like COD or heartstone or Lol.

And on xpax increasing your winrate?? Where is the data?? Lordseth. Shin, and most pro on twitch have being alternating between elite specs and cores specs and their winrate hasn’t change that much if anything it has improved ( especially gs hammer build).

It is already proved that having HoT greatly improves your winrate against Core. if you cant believe just go dueling arena with core spec and try to duel reaper, druid, scrapper or rev. specific data doesm’t even need to be measured becuz it is just too obvious. If you can’t even distinguish the OP difference between core and HoT, i wouldn’t say a thing becuz that is your level.

Chrono and berzerker are sucks at lowest tier level even in elite specs, thus they will not find that much difference by switching between elite and core spec if they play zerker or chrono. (but i believe elite spec of those two is still slightly OPer than core)

However, when it comes to other than those 2, such as scrapper, rev, reaper and druid, the thing become too obvious that you should realize. If you can’t realize i wouldn’t say a single thing for you.

HoT is both buy2play and pay2win since it does include anything other than pvp stuffs.

Since we re focusing on balancing stuffs on pvp forum, we disregard pve content which is b2p, thus is p2w.

personally, in terms of balance, i think anet only check specifically from their guild chat and reedit mostly, that’s it.

Writing anything specifc here, anet dev doesn’t even look at it that specifically but only forum moderator see that to delete it or not.

what anet dev only look in the forum is that i guess bunch of posts created by so many people arguing the same thing, like last year all people said nerfing dd cele ele all together.

So i think whatever specifically you said in this forum willl not delivered to anet, but they will mostly listen to their esl players which anet have in their guildchat (e.g. phantaram and etc)

play reaper, druid, rev or scrapper. If you can’t beat at least warrior, your personal skill is problem over your build.

Warriors are fine-ish , the major issue is that they don’t accomplish any rol better than any other class in the game so is hard to have a spot in the meta that way.
It needs a trait rearrange thoug , they messed up everything when trying to kill shoutbow/hambow.

Since ShoutBow dead as settler/cele gone, there is none of warrior support build.

Since banner can be combined with shout, however, healing amount is still bad since shout healing nerf. Even with banner + shout heal, it is still worse than druid heal.

Therefore, to make support warrior somehow variable, people in warrior forum suggested like following banner trait for warrior, that is,

" Banner finishes downed enemy when summoned directly on enemy’s body" or “banner’s 5th skill (plant standard) while holding banner finishes downed enemy”.

Personally, i think warrior itself now is trash (except berserker), but, if warrior would have such unique trait, then i guess people anyway use warrior even tho warrior is very bad at everything other than that finishing job.

Hammer is very much defensive (by cc to make them un-attackable) &supportive (by making enemy CCed to let your teammate stomp) weapon than offensive.. You will feel as much as you play it. It cannot even burst huge dps that much fast like axe. So combining hammer into zerker set is not really good idea. (thus it’s not really a good idea) And like above people says, it is very telegraphed.

recommended weapon set for hammer therefore is, from my perspective
1. Hammer/mace-shield
2. Hambow probably? Outdated tho

Actually you could do extra dps while they are in stun, but after HoT expansion, many people now have almost perma stability such as reaper and berserker and etcm thus hammer or mace that has stun ability has become not really useful than before.

In terms of pvp, well support warrior is 100% dead since shoutbow gone. The only way which i see the future form of warrior support is absolutely banner + shout form. But i don’t think no one gonna use this unless banner have some unique function like finishing downed foe when summoned and shout heal restore back to its previous healing amount.

You guys better to take berserker build, at least berserker build can now perform similar to tempest and chrono since it got buffed.

I had 30 more duels on various classes in last 2 days after first date of this post but i still think rev is in top OP tier along with reaper, even tho rev got nerfed.
