When you use the elite skill for twilight for example you should cut the edge of reality, leaving a space between GW2 and real life. A Limousine comes out and then chuck norris as he instantly defeats everyone, instead of getting downed however, there characters are deleted and a fist comes through the screen instantly killing the player. Then you are awarded 1000g and a super model comes to your house to marry you.

Look, the point I’m making is that the OP’s statement is false. Not everyone plays Asura. Not even in the higher brackets.

OP’s hyperbole might have been off, but his point remains valid – Asura have a noticeable advantage when you consider how many pets some current viable builds can field, the fact that they have entirely different animations for the same attacks when compared to other races (which means memorizing 2 animations for each attack), and how hard it can be to read said animations.

Its also funny that Male/Female Asura look the same while your fighting them. However they both have unique animations for each attack. So if your fighting a male or female asura you may get confused because of what one does. But there bodies look exactly the same.

I can make a very manly looking Asura female, or a very feminine looking Asura Male. Confusing my foe even more.

One of the best warriors: Defektive plays a female Asura because of this.

Skull Cracks animation for example is different on male/female asura… lol.

I like the idea, or at least the thought process behind it. I, however, like EP as it is, and I sit on 3k armor.

Why? You could reduce damage by 50% for 8 seconds instead, and your 3k+ armor would actually help to reduce it even further. If you had protection it would reduce it even further.

So you used 20 initiative… um… you realize we only get 12 right?

This was obviously over a long period of time, the guardian had plenty chance to react. In fact from how many attacks you did, you had many chances to react. Why didn’t you dodge? Why didn’t you use any of your invulnerabilities/shelter? You know a thief can’t hurt you when his initiative is down right?

Yeah…while the 10 seconds are somewhat excessive I agree that Swiftness just makes more sense than the ominous “50% speed increase”….which apparently isn’t 50% anyway but rather 33%…which is exactly what Swiftness grants.

The reason why they probably didn’t make it Swiftness is because as a boon it is prone to modificators like “boon duration” .

That in turn might result in Thieves having quasi “perma-Swiftness”, which while nice, goes against the “temporary boost” nature of boons.

You mean “boon duration” would actually matter for us like it does other classes? Le gasp!

I mean, getting boons from our boon tree that increases boon duration and claims to be acrobatics.

Warriors: Please Use Banners

Warriors absolutely are a buff class; if you do a numbers crunch you will see that guardians and engineers actually deal more than warriors, but I’ve brought that up numerous times and it’s besides the point of this topic. A 25% party increase is a 25% party increase regardless of the total DPS of said party. It also costs you absolutely nothing to bring; I have run DPS warrior myself and have packed two banners. In fact, if you do not otherwise have banners, it actually increases your own DPS more than any other utility you could be bringing in their place.

I have seen groups with three warriors where NO banners were being dropped. That is an absolute waste. I can’t imagine what utilities you need so badly that of nine utility slots between three players, not a single one of them can be spared to drop a banner to boost the party’s damage output by 15%. When I mentioned this I was told to bring the banners myself, because of course the engineer should be the one putting warrior buffs on everyone.

In case anyone is curious, an optimally-specced DPS engineer under the effects of two banners outputs about 8k DPS. A guardian outputs about 7.5k, and a warrior gets about 7.2k. Warriors are just more consistent about being able to apply their own boons so their average DPS looks higher.

Luckily we are getting damage nerfs to compensate for this lack of damage.

Warrior or Guardian for PVE

Hey guys, I have both Warrior and Guardian and like both of them but for the life of me can’t decide which one to go with as my main, here are my basic needs if helps advise me on which would be better for me:
1. Survivability/durable ( very important )
2. Good Damage
3. Mainly PVE and Dungeons
4. PVP is not very important but like to try it from time to time.

1. Survivability/durable ( very important )
Kill it before it kills you. No sustainability. Warriors have the durability of a red solo cup in a party. AKA, have a blast before your thrown away.

2. Good Damage
Warrior is the best damage in the game, if your enemies stand still, to bad that isn’t the case, if the enemies move the Guardian does more damage.

3. Mainly PVE and Dungeons
Guardians are a required class in most high in fractals because of how good they are.

4. PVP is not very important but like to try it from time to time.

This is for open world, its meant to be slower like keg brawls, other things.

Duel
1v1: Fights are slower to make fights more epic.
1 Each player/pet/minion takes 50% less damage/condition damage.
2 No downed state, when the player is downed he is defeated.

Brawl
Group vs Group: Fights are slower to make fights more epic.
1 Each player/pet/minion takes 50% less damage/conditon damage.
2 No downed state, when a player is downed, he is defeated and out of the fight. When all the group is defeated the other group wins. It would be very team oriented, losing one teammate makes you 4/5 less effective in a brawl.

This would be like super smash brothers, could have cool fights in epic places, like the giant bridge in Caledon, and be awesome for role-play.

Nerf Altruistic Healing.

Altruistic Healing is almost on every guardian build, it simply heals way to much and heals for more then most ‘6’ skills.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Merciful_Intervention is also bugged and healing for three times, so not only do the guardians get a second healing skill, they have an almost full heal get out of jail free card.

Add an internal cool-down of 1 second to Altruistic Healing and increase the healing slightly to balance it please, 5 guardians with AH/Might on Crit builds can pretty much never die, even with 40 people beating on them. (as seen in videos.)

When every tree is 0/0/30/0/0 you know something is wrong with the tree, it offers high damage, high survivability, high sustain all in one package. I also think the 30% Critical Damage should be traded with the Virtues tree.

0/0/30/30/0 should not have the high damage it currently has… Its kind of ridiculous actually.

Separate Pistol Whip into 2 Skills.

Pistol Whip needs the first/second part separated, the first part should be smacking them with your pistol, which should be a fast casting melee attack that you can use on the move, the second part needs to root you and slash repeatedly while evading.

3-1 Pistol Whip (¼ Cast/Strike) 2 Initiative
Pistol-whip your foe, stunning them.
Damage: 302
Stun: ½ s
Range: 130
Can use while moving, when you use this skill it opens up “Sword Flurry” for the next 7 seconds.

3-2 Sword Flurry (½/Channel/Root) 3 Initiative
Evade attacks while slashing your foe repeatedly with your sword.
Damage (4x): 1,262
Evade: 2 s
Range: 130
Rooted/Evades attacks while Channeling.
If you move while channeling the skill, it cancels both your attack and Evasion.

A lot of the traits we have are too weak and need to be remade to be on-par with others, we really could use a fresh start and new traits and playstyles for every class is the awnser, we need more metas and new builds, i’m tired of doing pvp and seeing the same build for every class, there just isn’t enough customization.

I wanna see all utilities used and fun ways and traits and boons for every class, every class should have access to a boon or something some how as long as it makes sense, we could even add in new sigils and improve runes to make up for that, and offer new choices for players.

(Sorry, i’m just tired of seeing the same builds/players now, and it doesn’t look like there can be anything else done, its been 6 months of the same, and interesting ideas that are found are usually nerfed, so there is so little choice now…)

Balance is fine, but everyone must realize that no game has balanced classes, there is no way you can make all classes balanced, classes should be balanced to there roles and what they are able to do, not exactly perfectly to what people want them to do. New traits bring a fresh eye on things and would add new rock-paper-scissor gameplay, especially if we focus more on conditions as well as other things, people complain about bunkers and just ask them to be nerfed… why not give some classes more condition-type traits to deal with bunkers? or offer new weaponsets? Why always nerf nerf nerf? We want more choice, not less!

Those rewards are a bit too high, but I do agree with the idea in general of giving him better rewards. My reward schedule would look more like:

75% Health
1 guaranteed rare
2 exotic boxes
15% chance at an exotic weapon

50% Health
1 guaranteed rare
2 exotic boxes
25% chance at an exotic weapon

25% Health
2 guaranteed rares
35% chance at an exotic weapon
4 exotic boxes

0%, You successfully downed him.
6 rares and 2 guaranteed exotic weapons

Have you ever played a game like Lineage 2 with big open world bosses (Antharas, Baium, Lilith)? Those required alliances of guilds to take down, aka hundreds of organized players. Tequatl is like these bosses. He’s not content designed to be facerolled.

Do you honestly think the people who have killed him before are going through the trouble to forge alliances, coordinate dozens of players from various guilds, to take on a 15min bossfight that might very well still fail.

Just for a regular boss chest, with a very small chance of a reskinned ascended weapon? Yeah, im thinking, nope.
And im willing to bet those big world bosses from LA2 did infact drop some pretty big-deal items. Am i wrong?

Antharas/Baium etc dropped boss-specific jewelry items which were considered among the best items in the game. I absolutely support increasing the rewards for Tequatl INSTEAD of nerfing him, but I do think the OP’s suggested rewards are excessive.

They really just want the mob nerfed so its easy-mode. Something is gonna give and I fear they are just going to nerf it.

Nobody is going to bother forming a raid for a 0.005% chance of good loot.

They will kill it once for achievement, then never do it again.

No they cannot bunker. They don’t have any good condi removal, protection, or source of sustain. Its better to go all DPS.

Who the kitten even cares about healing signet, you think making healing signet on par with anything else any other class has would fix Warrs? LOL! So for 15 minutes of content, you want four (4) chances at getting a random Ascended weapon? I don’t know if this is Entitlement, or just a troll post.

45 minutes for all 4 actually.

If it was 15 minutes, it would be 1 chance and a very small one at that.
25% divided by how many sets there are. It would be around 2.5%.

2.5% sounds VERY REASONABLE to me.

The chances sound high, however when you actually randomize that chance again, the chance of getting the stats you actually want are very low.

The Condition Duration for the weapons does not work.

One-Handed Giver’s weapons have 10% and so do two-handed.

Make the stats work, and give Two-handers 20% Condition Duration.
