I amazed this hasn’t been stated yet in this manner.

Steath is overpowered AND cheap

Reason being?

There is no counter for stealth

You heard it, the thief can land all the damage and get hit all they want but they won’t appear. There are no anti stealth fields, you can’t get lucky and hit them with some kind of attack and reveal them. Stealth to me was bearable back when the target didn’t drop when they went invis. That to me was a good period….it was kind of like a stealth counter. You knew you still had them targeted so you could react accordingly..

Stealth will not be overpowered AND cheap when there is a legitimate counter mechanic introduced to this game. Until then every profession that can abuse stealth has a hug leg up on the rest of us

There is no counter for stealth? Really? So when your opponent stealths, you just sit there with your thumb up your kitten and give up? Do you know how many classes and how many weapons have cleave attacks? How common AoE is? That you can apply conditions on someone before they stealth, causing them to bleed out. Or have you noticed that when a person stealths, they don’t magically teleport 5000 yards away? Just literally attack in the direction the enemy stealths. Did you know that many stealth skills have a cast time anyways (Mesmer Elite: 1 3/4 seconds cast time. There’s cast time on a theif’s heal.).

Did you know that stealth lasts on average for about 3-5 seconds and that if you can’t do anything else because your mind has literally blown up from amazement, you can easily pop protection, put up invulnerability, dodge, make distance from where the enemy stealthed, put up retaliation, put up aegis, or do literally anything that ups your defense? Because this game is dynamic and the combat in this game is dynamic so if you expect to just sit in offensive mode and not have to actually THINK, then you’re going to have a bad time and make yourself look stupid. So excuse me and all of the rest of us that don’t want GW2 to be about mindless guardians and warriors spinning around with greatswords (no offense intended.) and would actually enjoy interesting mechanics.

So if its a class you play, its counterable? However if its something like what we have, which we have hard counters like “Blind, Poison, Aegis, Weakness” its not counterable?

Puzzle PvP - PvP Map Idea.

Basicly, you have a huge map that is basicly a bunch of squares, these squares would change colors, each colors acted like auras, some of them give conditions, some of them give boons depending on the color.

However, some times they would blink, and if it blinks too much it simply falls off, this makes the map change constantly. Your team has to constantly watch the ground and jump tiles because the map keeps changing.

The objective is not to die, when your team suffers 50 deaths the other team wins.

Blinking Tiles (Any Color.) – This tile is about to fall off, better get off it.
Yellow Tiles – Normal
Green Tiles – “Green Regeneration: +300 health every second.” – Buff
Red Tiles – “-25% Movement Speed” – Debuff
Purple Tiles – “+25% Damage Reduction.” – Buff
Orange Tiles – “+25% Damage Taken.” – Debuff
Blue Tiles – “Cures a condition every 5 seconds.” – Buff
Black Tile – "-300 health every second. – Debuff
Skull Tile (Rare) – “Turns all Boons into Conditions.” – You might wanna avoid this.
King Tile (Rare.) – “Turns all Conditions into Boons.” – You will probably fight for this.
(Each tile has its own symbol, for colorblind players.)

This is all random.

Why is this fun?
The map is constantly changing, and it doesn’t matter if your enemies bunker or make clunky specs like instagib ones, some of the tiles offer significant damage reduction, some offer more damage, your team can use cc to freeze or immobilize people on falling tiles, or they can use the map to lure bunkers into +25% damage taken spots to kill them.

What this map offers
- Strategy.
- Fun.
- Good Replayability.
- Good use of all class abilities, CC, Portals.

Thieves are being removed from the game, calling it now.

I hope they just totally change the profession into the assassin from GW1 like they should have done in the first place. Honestly, stealth is never a good idea in an MMO even though it’s far more balanced in GW2 than any other.

Stealth is far more balanced in GW2 then any other? Are you serious? WoW vs GW2, a class that can only stealth with skills for a limited time, can be broken out with DoTs or AoE. Vs a class that can invis whenever the thief pleases.

Rogues have indefinite stealth and tons of defensive abilities, bro.

Thief is balanced completely around stealth unless you’re a unicorn thief, and rogue is balanced around plenty of survival tools outside of stealth. It’s totally different, but rogue also gets 3s vanishes that act the same way as GW2 stealth except they have way more abilities like 4s stun, a long dot, burst damage, sap, etc.

Indefinitely stealth vs unbreakable stealth with many bonuses such as condition cleansing (even the base heal stealth cleanses all DOTS), movement speed, regen, as well as having multiple opener options.

As well the thief can be in a single spec and be useful in most areas of the game and both AOE and single target damage. As well the thief is much more escapeable and tons more mobile. Thieves also have a multitude of defensive skills, most just don’t use more than 1 or 2. Their inherent stealthing and mobility abilities make them not need to.

Don’t cherry pick X vs Y. It doesn’t work that way.

It does not do enough to have its cost, it needs a huge damage buff or the initiative cost to be lowered, it should deal as much damage as swoop at least.

Shadow Return should be free and its bugs should be fixed.

I know it seems overpowered with epidemic, however for what they want us to bring to the fight, I think its balanced. Even though it could be ridiculous in some situations… so can other classes evades/stealths/invulnerabilities.

a key stroke is a keystroke. it doesnt change if u hotkey it. i know what you mean. but other classes have a few more abilities than thieves. would be nice to have an f2 f3. not that we need them to be certain things. just nice to ahve a lil more option. we use everything in the first 5 seconds of battle. :/

yes but having a free shadowstep and a free refuge is alittle too good.

its not free tho. its just being moved. so we can use other utilites on our utility bar instead.

Um it would be free as you’d get them without spending skill points and without using up utility slots.

As for daecollo’s statements that these make the profession, thats not true there are plenty of people that don’t use them and use other things, they are very good utilities but they are not needed to perform well, but doubling a thieves utility because you want them for free just reeks of overpoweredness.

Uhh.. name one thief that does not have shadowstep or SoS in there hot bar, I want to proceed to laugh.

I did feel that my little warrior could heal himself awfully well when ‘full with pie,’ so I’m not surprised that there came the ‘Infamous Pie Nerf of ’13.’ I was disheartened to see that everyone basically had to be berserker/dps, and not use any defense or shouts, etc. (I liked my asuran’s polite shouts – it was the prime reason to make a male Asura)

What? Warriors and guardians use shouts all the time…

I hope this means they’re edging us out of pure dps, all the time. That was boring – it really was.

Maybe they could cut down boss health pools then. I tell you what is really boring – barely being able to notice the health bar going down on a very easy boss.

I tell ya what sucks, having to re-roll on a character I have 700+ hours logged on :/

Make it soul reaping’s new ‘5’ point minor trait, and lower the stability to 1 or 2 seconds (I think 2 would be overpowered, 1 would be fine.). This would make it into a highly skilled trait to use to counter stuns.

This would make Gluttony the new Grandmaster Trait:

Gluttony
Increases Life Force gain of all skills by 100%.

(This would make way for Dagger/X spectral builds…)

Increase of increasing burst damage, it could add sustain.

Warrior is healed for 0.1% every second, per trait point spent.

This would add a unique play-style for the Warrior, the longer the fight goes the more in favor it goes to the Warrior, however it favors a more tanky play-style rather then the usual “Kill it before it kills you” play-style the Warrior has.

It would go well with what the warrior as advertised as “We want the Warrior to have a sturdy body” the problem is the stable body part, they not only have lack of condition removal, but a weak body due to lack of protection or boons.

Jon, I would love it if instead of using so many particle effects we instead used more weapon trails and .swh effects.

They are just as pretty (A lot of them in the game seem /hand painted/) and don’t clog up the entire screen with explosions.

These are Grandmaster Traits
This is to encourage people to not go into just x/x/x/x/30 and they can be viable without it. Switching to these greatly improves your stats to make up the loss of stats you get from being an elementalist. For example attuning to earth with Aspect of the Golem puts you in heavy armor like a Guardian, while attuning to fire makes you like a Necromancer.

Vitality of the Pheonix
33% of your condition damage is vitality when attuned to Fire.
10% of all burning damage additionally heals the elementalist when attuned to fire, this is not affected by healing power. Lose 25% of your health when you swap attunements.

(I just realized, I could light up several players and heal for a lot, so I lowered it from 33% to 10%.)

Aspect of the Golem
33% of your power is toughness when attuned to Earth.
Earth Spells are instant cast and do 25% more damage while attuned to Earth. Lose all armor for 3 seconds when you swap attunements.

Claws of the Ice Wolf
33% of your healing power is power when attuned to Water.
Chill opponents for 1 second when struck by a critical hit. Cannot trigger more than once every 2 seconds per opponent. Chill and Burn yourself for 6 seconds when you swap attunements.

Tornado Armor
33% of your power is precision when attuned to Air.
Gain a charge when struck and disabled while attuned to Air. At 25 charges, you are invulnerable for 2 seconds. (You lose all charges on down or attunement swap.)
Damage: 681 (1.75)?
Knockback: 250
Combo Finisher: Whirl
Range: 400

Stun yourself for 3 seconds when you swap attunements.

Its simple, they nerfed a lot of things that made certain builds viable, and now they are no longer able to sustain. This leaves a bad taste in many mouths since those classes above didn’t really get anything to compensate for it, and some of those classes have no bunker builds to keep that sustain they want.

Basicly the developers did exactly what they said they wouldn’t do, change things quickly, it left a lot of bad taste in many players mouths and they simply do not wish to play anymore, or do anything besides the daily and the world events. They still like the game, but really… they broke things and can’t take it back now, they just have to fix it, or give up on the game.

So, we have had months of people complaining about F-U, now they do something to address that issue.
And now people suddenly seems to think that F-U was the most awesome and perfect path ever.

ArenaNet really can’t win.
If they don’t change stuff people complain that the world is not changing and stuff is bad, boring and don’t get fixed.
If they do change stuff people complain that they fix stuff and that the bad, boring and unfixed stuff was good as it was.

I hatedkitten however I absolutely loved the lore around it. It deserved a better story and the Fae-Sylvari and the Courts deserve a better story. Did you ever STOP AND READ the dialogue they have in that story?

Signet of Rage should be changed to give its Fury/Swiftness/Might over time rather then all at once to counter boon-hate/stealing/removing classes, it was made before a lot of that was around and is far to…

Its just not good, having REALLY long boons in pvp is no longer viable. Signet of Rage is the longest 3 boons in the game.

So nice update.

- Less people doing dungeons.
- Less viable builds.
- Almost impossible to do at the rated and recommended level.
- Nerfing things without feedback from the players and nothing to compensate. (Aka nerfing builds.)

I’d say this is very successful.

The statement at start is even ridiculous. “Standing there in full berserker’s tanking named with the food?” make a video and prove it to me, all the dungeons I have done unless your talking about old AC and CoF Path 1-2 (which are so easy, anyone can still do that.). I am in full “Knight’s Gear” (Which apparently has more toughness then berserkers! that should mean more survivability right?) and often I would have to cancel to dodge out of the way of AOEs and knockdown mobs because they would just one shot me before I could do anything.

To be honest, if the zones you designed are that easy, its not the foods problem, its yours for making the AOE not significant enough, its called “bad design.”

Which is exactly what I think of when I go into CoF and old AC, it was stupid easy anyone could do it.

But saying they could just face-tank named when there is tons of CC/Knockdown/Anything dangerous like in harder dungeons and fractals? That is ridiculous. In berserker gear, any burst dps would destroy you.

If you wanted to nerf the food, you could of done it in many ways. I will give you one right now! “make it scale good with toughness!” that way it doesn’t benefit full zerkers as much but benefits tanks a lot more! Toughness could use a buff anyways!

This is simply my feed-back though, however I don’t have any desire to step foot into a new dungeon since my play-style was destroyed, unless warriors gain some sustain i’m pretty much done playing one, its not simply fun anymore. (I could also beg a Guardian to come help me, since that is apparently what i’m suppost to do now…)

Interesting Food/Mechanics/Runes/Sigils/Builds and Customization keep people in the game, and all I see from you guys are basicly cookie-cuttering everyone into 2-3 builds, its very lazy and sloppy in my opinion. PvP/PvE will never be balanced unless you make everyone the same.

Quickness used to be a huge part of the game, but it seems like it was slowly phased out. Why not make it a boon that isn’t as strong?

I wonder if there is a way we can bring back quickness, but make it more like Might, where it is like this:

Quickness
Skills and actions are 1% faster.

Stacks up to 25 times.

Then we can have more attacks that give quickness since its a lot more balanced as a skill now.

For example, a new thief trait:

Swashbuckler
Gain quickness on a critical hit with a sword. Lose all quickness when you enter stealth.
Grants 5 seconds of 1 Quickness.

The idea for the massive stat gains is to make up for what you lose by being an elementalist. The balance is you have less armor and health for being an elementalist. However these traits force you into 1 or two attunements. Meaning such things like.

Earth Attunement: You now have plate armor like a Guardian.
Fire Attunement: You now have health like a Necromancer.
Air Attunement: You now critical like a thief.
Water Attunement: You now have some damage and more crowd control.

In-Character reasons

Why lose all your armor temporarily?
When your golem armor falls off you are vulnerable.

Why Chill and Burn yourself?
Your body isn’t used to the cold anymore.

Why Stun yourself?
Your dizzy now.

No Sustain buffs, I suspect this is all falsity. We need buffs that heal us. No point in playing warrior over guardian now that our damage was cut down to be lower then theirs.

Reducing our heals cooldown by 5s won’t do anything.

It’s naive to measure the balance by those pure numbers. Certain professions fulfill certain roles in a team. Synergy between professions matters.

This is a list of the warrior healing skills, I think they should be greatly improved to be on-par with other classes. As you know the warrior has no access to protection and currently no abilities to reduce damage and has one of the highest health pools as well, all this in the mix of the worst ways to remove conditions. This means they need better healing. The healing is based on the max health of the warrior with lack of damage reduction in mind and no ways to evade conditions.


Healing Signet (¾) (Cooldown: 20 s)
Signet Passive: Grants regeneration.
Signet Active: Heal yourself.
Healing Signet: 600 heal per sec
Healing: 8,275 (2.0)?


Healing Surge (1) (Cooldown: 30 s)
Heal yourself and regain all adrenaline.
Healing: 14600 (2.5)?
Adrenaline: 30


Mending (¾) (Cooldown: 25 s)
Heal yourself and cure a condition every second for 5 seconds.
Healing: 11120 (2.0)?

Mending is now a physical skill, however it does not gain anything from +100% damage, but the cool-down can be reduced by 20%.

Introducing Traps in World vs. World
Traps are fiendish items that can be purchased from the new Traps and Tricks Outfitters on each WvW map. We’re starting with anti-stealth fields and traps that remove supply from enemy players, but in the months ahead we’ll introduce even more ways to spread mayhem in the Mists!

So pretty much means that there are traps specifically made to counter our class mostly?
Can we get some traps that makes clones/phantasms unable to spawn or one that removes the ranger’s pet?

Don’t fix yourselves, fix the class that beats you.

Honestly, lower thief burst, but raise average DPS by double what it is, thieves do horrible DPS over time compared to other classes, they just have High Burst. ((we are the worst class in PVE atm, due to being unable to help our allies and having worse damage over time then a necromancer, in a 30 minute fight our damage is POOP compared to every other class due to initiative and how it works.))

Pistol and Most Sword Skills are broken and worthless.
Nobody uses Traps because they are worthless.
Nobody uses Venom because they are worthless.
Half of Thieves abilitys are worthless, and only the backstab ones really shine because really, Dagger Dagger Shortbow is the ONLY viable build you can really make as a thief.

Also… Learn to play please, thieves do not have any utility besides damage and running away, take away those and you might as well delete the class, they don’t have AOE Healing like other classes, they don’t have high DPS like Warrior, they don’t have High Defenses like Guardian, they have the ability to burst you down and damage you really fast. (punishing new and poor players who have no idea how to trait and rune against burst damage, which IMHO, you should because everyone does it.)

Fix yourselves before you attempt to fix another persons class, and also play against real players, not random pugs you meet in spvp testing a new build.

And please… Every class can survive that burst if they gear themselves correctly, even an elementalist.

Get Runes of Earth, Get Toughness or Vitality, Trait for Stun breakers, THIEVES do it to protect ourselves against each other, why can’t you? ((also, if you go full glass cannon, expect a thief to punish you for it by killing you, that is what we are there for.))

((And please, don’t whine about “HAVING TO GEAR towards Thieves burst!” I gear towards the burst of all classes, not just thieves, if I didn’t have the gear I do, I would die to every burster of every class I see, like Warrior/Mesmer.))

These are powerful traits, they should probably go into the grandmaster tree if anything, these are just ideas for fun and useful traits that could aid the Necromancer.

Soul Reaping
Soul Search:
Every 3 seconds, you lose 3% Life Force and Gain 3% Life.

Curses
Reversed Deterioration:
Poison is now a boon, poison now increases healing of the necromancer by 33% and heals the necromancer.

Blood Magic
Lust for Blood:
Applying a Bleed heals you for a small amount.

Death Magic
Marked for Death:
Mark of Blood hits twice.

Spite
Necrophobia:
When a minion dies, the target that killed it is feared for 1 second.

Random Trait Idea
Consume Essence:
Consume Conditions now recharges 20% faster additionally converts all conditions into boons of the same duration.

Mind Rot:
Applying Poison also applies confusion.

30/30/30/30/30 Warriors with 4 weapon sets are hard to kill.

As far as I can tell (and I admit, gw2skills.net may be wrong), 0/0/20/0/0 is enough to get you Adrenal Health AND Cleansire Ire….

Cleansing Ire isn’t immune to blinds.

Can we change Endure Pain?

Well its takes ALLOT of armor/toughness to get 50% damage reduction (i think its not even possible..)
And you do get Immune to damage now for 4 seconds..
So if you dont get allot of toughness you still do a nice damage reduction for 8 seconds, people run high toughness will benefit more.. but hey they do less damage also.

And about the 10k from thief.. its an example.. i could also say 2k from normal attack.
Or 5k from shattering clones.. dunno. its an example for the calculation :-)

It would not be overpowered. That is how damage reduction works.

That is why we can’t currently bunker without protection, because protection works ALONGSIDE toughness, its pretty much an extra set of armor. Which is hilarious that cloth classes have quite-a-bit more armor then heavy armored classes.

It should bump a player 20 levels regardless of their level.

There is no reason otherwise since every level past 20 is the same experience/events to get.

Allow each character to pick voices, these voices allow the toon to say different things, and have different voice actors saying them in combat, the mood of the voices sets this as well.

This is kind of an idea from everquest…

- Cheerful “We will win for sure!”
- Righteous/Valorous “Remember %T!!” “Save everyone!”
- Vengeance “I’ll Butcher you…just like you’ve butchered my kin!” “Cleave them in two!”
- Sinister “Fool, out of the way!” “Your wasting my time.”
- Brute “HEH! You dink yew can beat meh!”
- Insane “Hahaahah!” “DIE DIE DIE DIE!” (laughing like a madman!)
- Flirty “Your cute… but out of my way!”
- Sly “You can’t touch me…”
- Tranquil “We must fight for peace.” (very very quiet and calm.)
- Noble/Snooty “Follow me, peasants!”
- Intellectual/Genius “I’ve no time for this, I’ve things to study!”

It doesn’t have to be set to race, there can be racial ones and multiple races can have some of them.

Apparently a lot are ignorant of the true offensive capabilities of the guardian.

the problem is that you are using wvwvw video and stats allocation is different and not balanced

The reason we are getting a huge nerfed is WvWvW/PvE. I am just showing you what a GUARDIAN can do in WvWvW/PvE

You can’t find a Warrior SPVP Video, because we are not allowed in Tournaments because of how bad the class is.
