I am sure a lot of the feedback on the forums right now is hard to read as a developer, we are merciless critics.

I can however understand the villain Scarlet in your minds when you created her with all the story was a good villain, however when you just came into it and saw this lady who is suppost to be a genius, doing all these dumb things… It just does not seem believable.

I actually like Scarlet and wanted her to be a successful character, but even after reading everything about her (which hould of been in the game 3-4 months prior.) she feels rushed. She could of been so much more, and the story could of as well.

This is why you don’t rush content. I know your trying to keep a good schedule of new things to do every 2 weeks, but why do them for the story when its … well.. I don’t want to say anything that would make a developer cry, because I know how much effort people put into story making.

We could surely use a trait revamp, currently we have several traits that only benefit one area, this could surely be improved some how and probably needs to happen.

Each Trait change has an explanation by it.

Dagger Training – Dagger damage is increased by 5%.
Dagger Training – Damage is increased by 5% if wielding a dagger in your offhand.
This improves S/D, P/D’s Power Damage, and does not just affect D/D, S/D and P/D needs a power damage improvement anyways.

Pistol Mastery – +10% damage with pistols.
Pistol Mastery – Damage is increased by 10% if wielding a pistol in your offhand.
This improves S/P, P/P, D/P a bit, which they need improving anyways.

Currently, Dagger Training only improves the damage of Death Blossom and Pistol Mastery only improves the damage of Unload, even though it says 10%, 5% damage with pistol/daggers, because they are dual skills, it doesn’t do anything to them, this is kind of wrong, because it GIMPS sets that are not base.

Deadly Arts:
Combined Training – Dual skills deal 5% more damage.
Combined Training – Dual-Wielding two weapons improves damage by 5%.

Reason: Why is a master major trait so terrible and why does it work with 1 skill, there are almost no other traits in the game that work with 1 skill, nobody is going to trait for this deeply unless they have some kind of weird build.

Critical Strikes:
Combo Critical Chance – Dual skills have a +5% chance to critical hit.
Combo Critical Chance – Dual-Wielding two weapons improves critical chance by 5%.

Reason: Same as above, why was a master major trait made that only benefits one attack? nobody is going to trait for it when there are things that improve all attacks damage right next to it.

None of these trait fixes benefit whats overpowered, in fact if you see these changes, I would argue you would see more variety of thieves besides D/D Backstab, D/D Deathblossom Condition, D/P Condition Thieves.

Because Thief traits are so limited, it brings us to trait for only a few weapon slots, why do you think people use D/D+Backstab, because well, most of our traits ONLY work for D/D+Backstab!

Please think about nerfing Larcenous Strike, it is a very balanced skill right now and if you take away its utility it will be a very bad skill.

A warrior with Healing Signet (and possibly Adrenal Health) can have protection and regeneration put on top of all that to make him a very difficult target to kill. Other classes do not have the same level of access to passive health recovery in the form of non-boons that stacks with boons.

Overall, I still think Healing Signet needs a small nerf, and ANet need to fix Sigil of Paralyzation.

It needs a big nerf. Its passive heal should be mediocre unless geared for healing power. If it required a lot of healing power to reach the numbers it currently has, then I would say that is balanced.

No, because then its not balanced to every other piece of gear in the game.

You can’t balance a skill around gear, otherwise it wouldn’t be a skill, it would be a niche, and NO OTHER CLASSES have niches, warrior skills SHOULD NOT Be either. THIS game was NOT made for a single type of gear and everyone having the same traits.

Give Warriors Perma-Vigor, Perma-Protection, Perma-Regeneration, Spammable Blinds, Stealth, Aegis and I will agree with you, however until that day, Learn to Play.

Mending should be a Physical Skill, Weapons should be revamped.

Skull Crack needs changed, however if you nerf stun and do nothing else, it will be a weapon nobody uses. Same with HS.

Warriors do not have the defensive traits other classes have, we don’t have a ‘5’ or ‘10’ point trait that cures conditions passively, we don’t have perma-vigor, we don’t have cheese stealth or get out of jail free cards, WE don’t have teleports and We don’t have any grandmaster traits that keep us alive LIKE every other class does.

Thief needs a 2-handed melee weapon. (Staff!)

A melee staff would fit the acrobat line of the Thief perfectly. Thief Acrobat is deeply ingrained into the older editions of table top RPGs. A staff or quarterstaff is a great thief weapon, it doubles as a pole to vault with, use for balance, trip and disarm foes and is basically a concealed weapon in the right hands.

I could see the staff being a fast hitting weapon with a daze attack, a leap and an evade. The fighting style would look much like Darth Maul, and the auto attack would chain much like the rangers sword attack (which is actually quite interesting to fight with once you learn the chain).

FINALLY, somebody gets it!

Darth Maul Style Combat.

I figure to make it work more with Venoms, thats why the skills don’t have dazes and such already, it has swiftness, this way we can load up with venoms and use them without paying the -25% movement speed penalty.

The constant revealed debuff keeps the thief out of stealth, but also gives them fury/swiftness to make up for it.

(This would have to be a 5/15/25 Trait in the defense or discipline tree and easy to access, blinds punish us more then any other class and I would like us to have a form of “Blind-Hate” to punish those who spam blinds in aoe.)

The pistol’s autoattack should be 0.5, currently it is 0.9ish.

All Pistol skills need a base damage increase for lack of mobility.

Pistols need a piercing trait as well as its bouncing traits fixed.

Unload needs 1-2 parts and be split into 2 damaging / utility skills like Flanking Strike did.

Adrenal Surge and Signet of Precision, because of the way they work, they would only count as “One Bar.” even if they fill all three. This was just an idea, but there would no doubt be a small internal cool-down to keep things like that from being used over things like “Berserker’s Stance.”

The converting makes a lot more sense, because Warriors have no initial boons themselves, much likes thieves do not so they simply steal it. With all the new boon hate coming to all classes, the idea is balanced to that. Since its conditions being converted, it would bring Warriors back up on par with Rangers and Guardians in bunkering, just in a different way. It also has a good counter. Boon Removal, Boon Stealing, Not applying condition based attack, and also wells would still convert the boons that are made into conditions, so it does nothing to Necromancers. Its just a very balanced idea.

The fact that it "converts’ conditions to boons makes it stronger AND weaker, because now the boons can be stolen or converted to conditions again.

The Mechanic would make us stronger against Guardians and Elementalists, but much weaker against Thieves and Necromancers. This is IMO how I think it should be, we should be strong against the Lighter-minded classes and weaker against the Darker-minded. Warriors should be easily tricked by thieves and weakened by necromancers.

You also have to remember that we are nerfing our own HP/s from Adrenal Health because we would be constantly using Adrenaline.

Why is Spiked Armor weaker then other classes minor ‘5’ traits?

Example here…

Guardian
Tier Adept Type Minor
Vigorous Precision
Gain 5 seconds of vigor when you deliver a critical hit. This effect can only trigger once every 5 seconds.

Warrior
Tier Grandmaster Type Major
Spiked Armor
Gain 5 seconds of retaliation when struck by a critical hit. Cannot trigger more than once every 15 seconds.

Isn’t there something wrong with this picture? Spiked Armor is so weak comparingly to this trait it doesn’t even make sense, both are toughness traits, either something should be done to fix and improve spiked armor, or traits like Vigorous Precision should be moved into their respective major grand-master trait alongside altruistic healing.

Here is my idea.

Spiked Armor
Gain 5 seconds of protection and retaliation when you deliver a critical melee hit. This effect can only trigger once every 10 seconds.

The first thing I would like to say is the animation for using an axe in the offhand should be a bit different, the axe is held “way to close” to the face, anyone could just knock the axe back into your eyes, you should be holding both weapons out more offensively.

Currently there is no reason to use Axe off-hand over Mace/Shield, it offers little to no benefits.

Dual Strike -
(Remove the Fury.)
Lunge at your foe and strike them with your axe. (Range: 900.)
Also Add Combo Finisher: Leap

Whirling Axe -
Additionally reflect projectiles.

Anet – You will get reveal debuff everytime now when leaving stealth. We did this because it is imbalance in WvW although we said we weren’t going to make balancing decisions based on what happens in WvW. Suckers!

D/D Players – wtf man, this nerf will hit us hard! kitten you Anet!

S/D Players – Oh stfu D/D players, learn to play.

D/P and P/D Players – Who cares…

Signet of Malice: Buff/Nerf

It’s already probably the best S/D tank heal in the game. Traited, it’s cooldown is only 12 seconds and it gives you a 5 stack of might. Combined with sword’s cleave proccing it up to 3x per attack makes it just perfect. We already have 2 good large castable heals, these changes would only pigeon-hole our class further.

Any smart player would realize that it has a hilariously long cast-time, making it prone to almost all CC, which is why nobody in tournament play would ever use it as such. Withdraw is almost 100x better then it is atm for that.

These are my feelings of the notes if they are true, if they are not, which I pray to the developers they are not, please listen.

First of all, let us talk about the “Healing Buffs.”

They didn’t do crap to our survivability. We will still go down just as bad as before, worse now that we don’t have anything to deal with these new conditions…

Healing Signet even after changes is poor and does not fix its problem. The signet is meant to have a very powerful passive and active, but with a very long cool-down, used only as an emergency, look at my picture below to see how stupid it is now.

Adrenal Surge should of simply been an 8k-12k heal that gives you 30 adrenaline. Requiring us to have a set of adrenaline simply puts MORE “Oh you use this and your punished” that other classes don’t even have, What other class gets so punished like this? None. Thieves have a heal that simply stealths them and gives them regeneration.. what if it did less if they had less initiative… What if Necromancer heals healed less if they had less lifeforce? Its a stupid mechanic.

Mending should remove all conditions and heal for each one, or have its cool-down lowered to 15 seconds to fill the active gap Healing Signet had, because it would be a much better “active heal” and fill in that spot, where Healing Signet should be the passive.

We did not get any healing added to our traits… Lawl…

The changes are not sustain either, none of these increase our ability to stay in the fight, healing signet is a now a total joke not even Kefka would find humorous.


Second off, lets talk about the “Condition Removal”

Useless, it goes off AFTER you use your burst, you need it before that, not after… I need to remove weakness and blindness immediately or I won’t be able to do anything to the enemy, this just further puts us into one EASY to counter roll, enemies can easilly predict when you burst and take precautions to simply avoid it and win.

The new condition removal also does not go well with Adrenal Health, in fact it lowers our HPS of it now that we are constantly going between stages instead of staying at full. Why wasn’t this changed as well as Berserker’s Power/Heightened Awareness? Did it not appeal to you that we would care about it anymore? Now it has NO SYNERGY with our new trait, NONE, natta, zilch. It is now a waste of a 15 slot.


CC Nerfs:
5 second leg specialist nerf… wow… haha… wow… good bye to warriors in SPVP I won’t even bother commenting on this.


Damage Nerfs:
Looks like we lost a HUGE chunk of our ability to hybrid AND deal damage… that gaurdian (looks at notes for guardian… sees damage buffs and knows they did great damage before… also knows they have much better and reliable well thought out passive condition removal and sustain and boons to keep them alive.) whistle.. I know what class I may go to next!


Real Warriors know that this whole thing was actually more of a nerf then a buff, and an unjustified one at that if it is true, we are trash in SPVP and now we are less then trash, none of the things that were talked about were added.

With a lot less damage, and Guardians doing more damage, adding more CC, better team support. Why bring a War over guardian?

Not only does it prevent the conditions and damage, but it lets you completely mitigate them for a long period and helps your allies. Not to mention a much much lower cool-down.

Guardians recieved no nerfs, warrior’s damage if the notes are true, got cut out by almost 20-25%.

Perplexity does not exist in sPVP.

Arcane Abatement can only be used near a ledge.
Perplexity only applies if you actually interrupt an action. Just stunning someone who runs through static field doesn’t apply Perplexity.

Perplexity is also pretty broken.

All interrupts apply Perp.

Only if they’re doing something when you interrupt them. Thus the term interrupt.

When is someone not doing something? Most people smash there face on the keyboard.

Elementalist is not a very good 1v1 dueling class.

I suggest using staff and using Crowd Control.

Staff has Stuns, Pushbacks, ways to get people off you. Many people underestimate the AOE CC of Staff.

I don’t suggest taking on a warrior 1v1, you would have a much better time 2v2 or 3v3

Its troubling because of the high-skill cap and the spammy nature of Ele, they should probably get some kind of revamp to make the class easier.

You’d be surprised I actually play a warrior too. Shockingly, I main a guardian. But I have had my share of “kitten , I just got rolled and I can’t think of any other way I could have done that differently.” But that’s the beauty of the game. This game isn’t based on 1v1 so it’s necessary to rely on other classes for support. I actually think warrior should have their offensive abilities and weapon damage boosted to make up for the lack of sustain.

Giving them protection and calling it a day though, is far from balancing.

Warriors don’t need protection, what we need is better healing (I could argue the need to double all of our healing abilities, and triple some of them while lowering cool-downs because we have little to no access to condition removal AND lack protection.)

We should be monsters who are hard to kill, but not by dodging/evading/protection, but by soaking/healing through the damage.

Another nice feature for shield would be a change to shield 5 so it acts a bit different.

4-1 Shield Block (½) (Cooldown: 25 s.)
Block attacks.
Duration: 3 s

4-2 Shield Bash
Cancel shield block, bash your foe with your shield and stun them.
Damage: 302
Stun: 1 s
Combo Finisher: Leap
Range: 300

5 Shield Stance (½) (Cooldown: 5 seconds.)
Block attacks, lowering damage taken by 40%. Each time you take damage you lose 5 endurance. You can still attack while blocking. If you run out of Endurance you can no longer block.
Duration: 99 s (As long as you have endurance, it will last forever.)

You fight like you have your shield in-front of you.

Anyone who told you it’s bad is stupid. Don’t listen to people who say condition spec or healing spec on warrior is bad, because they’re all WRONG. It takes 5-10 people to kill me, my pindown does almost 20k worth of bleed damage, my combustive shot ticks at nearly 1k per tick. No one will live through that.

I think this is your “Super Secret Build” running “Dire” gear with Health/Toughness, because honestly anything else with a condition spec would be fool-hardy due to how limited builds are.

This build is absolutely worthless in SPVP, due to not having the Dire Stat. You also said you have 2000 condition damage, which means you need 30 points in the precision tree. Since you bleed so much as you say, you probably have “Furious” to build adrenaline 3 times faster then you normally would.

Grats on telling me your build though, it wasn’t very hard to figure out. However this build is absolutely worthless against Necromancers, they will give you back and cure your bleeds off so fast its not funny. It also fails against Sigil’s of Generosity.

Now that everyone knows the strengths/weaknesses of the build, good luck. Your a really good 1v1 and dueler though!

Nerf Protection from 33% to 25% and buff Toughness’s Effectiveness?

This will give toughness a bit more of an advantage to toughness over health.

This will make people who have toughness/protection about the same as they are now, but also increase people who just have a bunch of toughness more effective, without making protection+toughness so powerful.

1 Remove the 916 base toughness, Armor should be your only starting option, however Armor and Toughness are the same.

“A hormone secreted by the adrenal glands that helps the body meet physical or emotional stress” – this basicly makes you pretty crazy and awesome…

Also laughing like a crazy maniac would also fit if you gained alot of it really fast…
