I love the idea of the Great Houses and would love to see more of their culture.

Only the Tethyos Houses are mentioned and their motto seems a bit limiting for playable characters.

They would be my number one choice as a new playable race- also under water region whoo-hoo.
Underwater combat would have to be overhauled though because not everyone plays an Engi :p

I have been very happy here since beta but like Oogabooga.9138, I have been looking at other games since the last patch made me feel very alienated.

GW2 is a beautiful game and I love love the combat- up until April 15 it was the best game in the world for me- haven’t really touched even single player games much in 2 years

- what you needed to do was give unique items, crafting materials, skills and skins for running events.

I realize this is a game, and we all have things we would like. I realize this is ‘teh internetz’ but when and why has that ever made it ok to be a self absorbed, pretentious kitten?! That is not ok, and I think its about time that some people learned some manners (and I seriously think the forum moderators need to enforce it)!

If you don’t like what they are giving you… fine, you say thank you with grace and move on. You find something else to do in the game, or you find a different game that is more to your taste. You don’t start rolling around on the ground in a tantrum like a spoiled toddler, demanding that you be given what ‘you want.’ Many of you claim to be older, mature adults….start acting like it!

OMG I want to slap a baby over and over rather then level another alt… Lol if anyone out there does this for fun then what are you doing to level.. Me and my friends just cannot do it.

I only level through open world pve. I like it.

I don’t fancy slapping a baby over and over, though.

I also level through open world PvE- I am leveling my 6th character now- well I have another one sitting at level 42 but she is an Ele and I just get fed up with her after playing for 30 min.

What I do is pick a map that I like and just roam through it gathering everything in sight unlocking everything, running any DE’s that look interesting, climbing some stuff and poking my head in some holes that look promising- mopping up the hearts that are left over after that.

It goes very quickly and I always have fun seeing what I can do and not do on a character- I have had some really epic, unexpected battles and also met quite a few nice people like that

oh oh and the coconuts with the gallop emote !

Most of this stuff is just bring us up to date with the Chinese client

I am very mixed about it- because while I understand their position I am not that thrilled about a lot of it.

Frankly I would have liked to see improvement on our game.

yes the mega sever made you late because it put everyone on the same train
- not only that
at each stop, it randomly changed all the passengers and in some cases the actual stop because now the station was no longer open.

- no one on the train spoke the same language and your neighbor, who got on with you went missing.

there are so many people on the train you can’t see the train let alone the stop

halfway through your journey you disembarked from the train, only to find- when you get back on that it is now a different train.

by the time you got to work – you seriously thought about taking the long way in the car next time.

The animation had been changed several times since launch- I actually prefer the latest one since it seems much more natural that the strange boxy arms/ wierd hop my females had previously- looks much more normal imo

I agree with the OP- posting about something you do not like and making suggestions on how it can be improved is all good and fine but hate post towards the devs and personal attacks are just not on.

I feel for Josh Foreman- especially since he says that he feels like he let the company down because this patch shows bad numbers.

I don’t think for what it is worth that the numbers have anything to do with SAB this time around- he just had the misfortune to have his content released in the same patch as the latest Ascended “perfect storm”

The game is not very good at giving information related to the game in the actual game.

I have given my feedback in this thread already.

In a nutshell- I have tried for more than a month to live with what mega server has done to a game I love- I cannot.

No this is not something that I will “get over”

Essentially megaserver ruined a game that I was meaning to play for years to come.
With megaserver I can no longer enjoy the game.

I like Kasmeer and Marjory- I was interested in Kasmeer’s story since she showed up so spectacularly during South sun.
Marjory- I love her dry, sarcatic, flirty manner that hides her mind- she is also a real bad-kitten in a fight.
I have never liked Braham and Rox just doesn’t speak to me at all.
Braham pretty much proved to me during the last update that he should just keep his mouth shut
Taimi is too unknown to me to have any impact.

I do prefer this cast to Destiny’s Edge though- omg don’t get me started on that bunch of angsty teenagers- I would slap everyone of them silly if I could.

Except for Logan- I like Logan

If they did say ‘we are aware of the issues and are looking into it’, do you honestly believe that people would stop posting / whining about the same thing on a daily basis?

No.

But what if they said “We’re open to ideas, but parts A, B, and C are not going to be open to change. What can we do to parts D and E to make this work better?”, they might get more useful feedback.

They will also get tons of comments from people that want A, B or C. Asking why they are not being treated " fairly" or they might feel that only players that want D, or E are being listened to bla bla bla…

Since someone kindly linked me the German community response, I know that they do not.

Much as I have loved this game in the 2 years I have been playing it everyday- I will now no longer do so until Megserver returns my experience to me- if it cannot or will not, I have to call it a day.

Today I got a beta key for another game that I previously had no interest in because I was invested in GW2- now, I am in the market for a new game.

I am taking my breather during the SAB content addition. It’s not that I dislike SAB, but the major reason I did it before was for obi shards and not so much total enjoyment of the content. The ascended weapons/crafting to 500 has left me disappointed and disheartened. My guild left en masse over a couple of the issues on the latest patches.
I log in to do the dailies and kind of wander around. I do a scarlet invasion if one pops up. Or I log into a little alt to level and not worry about all the high level gear I won’t be getting for my mains.
I wouldn’t call it burned out yet. I would say it’s just a loss. I’m a little too low on time, a little too low on mats, a little too low on gold, a little too low on guildies.

The game has changed and my playstyle is not really supported any longer. (Multiple main characters, changing builds/gear to refresh the older characters, getting max stat quickly as possible and then work on cosmetics slowly)
I don’t want to give up or give in just yet. I have accepted it and am going forward. It just feels like such a slog compared to the wonder and enjoyment it once was.

I never thought I would agree with you on anything but I feel pretty much the same even if the particulars differ
The game has changed, some of it has been for the better but the focus of the game seems to me to be worse.

I have been called a fanboy and white knight so many times on these forums but this last patch just knocked the stuffing out of me.
I have lost all desire to log in.

I can do all the things I have been doing- my question is why?
I can see that the game will eventually not support my play style anymore.

I didn’t even buy the permanent tools for my other main that I have been waiting for, simply because I couldn’t justify buying gems- that is a first for me.

I have an Engi which I love- she hit 80 about 2 weeks ago and I feel the lack of skins for engi’s very deeply.

Not that I am all eager to get a legendary but I can see that if you went through all the trouble to get one you at least want to see it.

I use Pistols, flame thrower and grenade kit. it would be great if an equipped legendary changes the skins on the kits ( someone mentioned that it does for the grenade kit?)- heck even just getting different skins as you level would make my day.

I don’t like Quip, I will never like Quip- while we are at it a nice pistol skin would be great- any skin, it does not even have to be Legendary, MF would be fine.

if it’s ever added there need to be some anti-abuse systems.

• option to decline all duels (default)
• inviting the same person not more than once every 30 seconds
• harassment-reporting option (which currently only works via email)

apart from that, I’d really like something to do while waiting around for large scale events like tequatl or great jungle wurm. maybe the feature pack patch will solve some of these problems, but right now I’m standing around for over an hour for each wurmtry and about 30-45 minutes for tequatl. if I could do something during that time whithout leaving the map, I’d be glad. duelling would certainly be a good way to fight the endless boredom.
I think it’s very shortsighted to say dueling has no place in pve. in fact, it’s just the opposite. dueling only really works if people are not enemies already (like in wvw) and both have to decide they want to duel. only then can it ever work as a friendly match.

but that is why we have costume brawl

never mind the boxes of fun, tonics, toys and naked dance parties.

at least that is what we do waiting around for events

I have no idea how they plan to do this but after chugging 500k worth of jugs the other day to buy boxes- to click more and buy more boxes, I am not in a hurry to do that again.

I like the jugs but I have a problem in judging how much I need on any given character an often overshoot.
Having Karma or anything really all in one place is awesome!

I’ve played many games that allowed unrestricted challenge dueling. In all cases, it was a very, very thin slice of the population. Most times the serious PvP people I knew laughed at it, or dueled privately solely to check builds.

In my experience, this small population of “dewlists” had a core group that enjoyed being as annoying as they possibly could. Sometimes not actually dueling, in SWG it was popular to duel with level 1 launcher pistols, which generated insane amounts of lag, were used solely to produce that lag, and never damage each other.. Sometimes enough would get in on the act to actually cause zone crashes.

Roleplayers and people just attempting to converse were prime targets. If you asked the duelists to just move… you ended up with 6 of their guildies showing up to duel on top of you as well. Any minor difference in opinion led to the “yah, dewl meh, then” followed by the usual epithets and cat calling if someone declined to.

People will duel in any area, unconcerned of anyone else there. I don’t want this at the Trading Post, Bank, Crafting area, etc. I don’t want it in towns, period.

If it is indeed such a valuable pastime, surely it would not be an imposition to travel to a dueling venue. Make it have a free WP even.

And even if it comes in, never, ever establish KvDs, Leaderboards, track numbers in any way. Dueling kill counts and KvDs are the most cheesed statistic, in any game that tracks numbers and allows unrestricted open world dueling. Too many places to hide and exploit.

GW1 never allowed it except in Guild halls. I think it was a wise decision then, and a model to be followed IF they allow it here.

I don’t get the lack of compromise. Dueling in a venue would allow dueling, and still show some respect for people who feel it has no place in towns, banks, craft areas, etc.
But, I guess its “let me dewl anywhere, anytime, I don’t care if it annoys people, they can log if they don’t like it”

We have no option to get out of megaserver, except to stop playing.

we have had a year of LS arc that we know is coming to an end- we know after that we have a features patch…
I am very interested to see what the LS does next

We also know that the LS teams are a fraction of the resources of the company- so- I must wonder…

I love the Sylvari.
I started out with 5 human characters and at this point I only have 3 humans but I have 4 Sylvari’s.

I have never thought of them as tree elves- but rather sentient plants modeled loosely on human form because of the Pale Tree’s interaction with humans.
Also I like to think that when she birthed the Sylvari she wanted humans to feel a kinship with them.

Personally I prefer the more non human Sylvari’s running around and I don’t actually like Caithe’s face all that much because it is a bit too human for my taste.

My 4 all look different from each other and they are all beautiful to me

Sylvari’s definitely have the best customization in the game- I will probably make more in the future

It’s buying things in store that allow new content to be added. RL cash via gems supports this game.

Game sold over 3 mil, think that’s enough for new content and what we got? only fractals half a year ago. Im not paying them more so they add mini jumping puzzles and create more miniatures…

It is fine -I buy gems so that you can play for free and complain on the forums.

I love all these instruments and it is amazing to see how good some players are.

Unfortunately I don’t have a musical bone in my body- maybe they can ad air guitar for the likes of me

I would have to say that if the game is only 3 days old, just create a toon an a different server. You couldn’t have possibly gotten too far in the game.

All your characters are bound to your home server- you cannot create alts on a different server.

I see spontaneous costume brawls often and as soon as one starts many people join in. Someone throws a cauldron and next thing you know it is a free for all dance party, fireworks, box of fun BRAWL with people zooming around naked on broomsticks.
It is always great fun and people love it.

I have yet to see anyone in game saying at a costume brawl- oh this is silly I wish we had duels. Or anywhere else but these boards for that matter.

You keep returning to Caithe and Faolin, and you being ok with them.

They are not a romance, their relationship is over before the game even starts and they are both Sylvari- so it hardly matters.
They are also not prominent.

Marjory and Kasmeer are human, and pretty and their relationship is part of the story- because you are their friend you spend time with them.

So basically you are saying you are not ok with one same sex relationship in game

I have been a pretty big supporter of both the game and Anet- so I don’t think you can accuse me of complaining every patch

Nothing I have seen have in any way implied that I will get back the game that I loved, since I no longer enjoy the game at all since Megaserver was introduced why should I play it?

I am really glad you guys liked the Molten Facility.
I would have loved it if it was scalable like Barham, Rox instances, or for that matter Tixx’s toy shop.

You see I am one of those you seem to dislike because I cannot complete my personal story or the Molten Facility, because it requires a 5 man team.

Before you start bashing me that this is an MMO, just make a party, easy mode etc like I have read in this thread, let me stop you.

For various reasons my RL does not allow me to spend large chunks of time in a instance without the ability to afk at a moment’s notice, sometimes for an hour at a time.
So I do not group with strangers because it would be extremely unfair to them.

I would love to do the content and I had really high hopes when I could do the Barham and Rox instances solo, sadly only to find out the story I had been following for these months will end without me.

So please Anet- a dungeon would be awesome end to the SouthSun story, just please make it scalable. That way everyone can enjoy the content.

I have been playing since the start- I am never bored I will give you one example why:

Last night I’m running around Bloodtide coast leveling my Ranger when I accidently aggro a champ.
Since it is fairly close to a waypoint I think why not and I attack in earnest- it’s health doesn’t dent by much but I stay alive so I keep going at it.

In wanders this little Asura that lays into the champ just as I die- I respawn run back and for the next 20 min or so we had the most amazingly epic battle.
Just us, we were too busy to talk and we were running for our lives but at the end I said that was awesome and the Asura whispered me back: Indeed it was.

Moments like this never get old

Same here- I enjoyed it but I won’t see the end now.
I was really hoping that the end dungeon scaled like the Rox and Barham instances because I just did those solo those no problems.

As for the OP- I would love to see a male/ male relationship in the game.
Problem is I see no place for it atm and no candidates at all- at least not in the prominent NPC’s

Heck I have enjoyed Kasmeer/ Marjory and Penelopee/ Boomaloo so much, that I now want more romance- it just makes the characters more real and normal to me, like they have a life that is not tied to kill kill kill all the time.

Even though I was against Player character romance before- like some people suggested- I feel left out now :p
I want my little home and a companion- I would be more than willing to try find Trahearne’s emotions

I think the fact that it makes your character blue/unearthly/ ethereal looking sort of balances the skimpiness.

Often I have typed something, only to think later- what?- did I just type that with my feet?
If someone ends a sentence with a period, I’m not sure I would even notice let alone think it is arrogant.

Anet made decent loot appear so rarely that players became akin to starving people, desperately gorging on champion boxes in the faint hope that something appeared in them. The champ train was a symptom of player “reward starvation” and a large amount of learned helplessness. Why do complex events like tequatl and 3 headed wurm when those give next to nothing in return. Far better to simply run round in a boring circle while watching tv and to collect a hundred champ boxes in the hope of something by raw force of numbers.

GW2 is built around giving nothing and taking all our time and the culmination of this is events like the new queens gauntlet, which are the perfection of this punishing philosophy.

We learned that the mystic forge hates us. We learned that RNG hates us, but now we don’t event get drops in our events for the rng to happen in.

The game hates us – that’s how I feel at the moment and I don’t understand how it can have come to this. I want to play, but its as if I am being told to go play something else – why is this?

It is not confusing- I have never been afraid of being banned and I have been playing since the start. I’ve had a tremendous amount of fun.
I am not afraid of being banned because I don’t exploit, try to work the system or get while the going is good- my husband and I do send each other gold- but that has never concerned me.
It is really simple, play the game, enjoy yourself and if you should by some miracle get wrongly banned contact support- end of problem

I agree with this 100%. I work about 48+ hours per week and i have just enough time to finish 1/2 Achievement categories. I have like no time to try anything else since the content will be gone FOREVER since it’s never permanent. I really liked this game but the past year the decisions have been god awful and different then what i expected. I may give the game another month but if i feel like im falling behind i simply just will stop playing.

I was able to keep up and i loved it but now i feel like im the turtle in a rabbit race

Hey, guess what, you represent the minority. The very very small minority. Id also think you must not know much about the decisions being made in the game by the devs, as stated in the interviews. If you don’t have at least 5 hours or more in your week to play the new content, then maybe you shouldnt be playing games.
