I am sure I will be wrong about this but if I wrote constantly how horrible an expansion was, before release, during release and after release I would consider it really strange if I then waited 7 months to come to forums and complain that after all this time I was not able to get a full refund and a time travel ticket. Clicking on a persons name does surprisingly give their posting history.
Masteries.
You have used 15 points in your masteries towards something, either old tyria points or new HoT points (gliding etc)
And people are upset when content is moved out of the game. New and shiny wins every time. It is still done on Aurora glade, just not as well or as often as before EOTM came out. It was really nice to have 3 or 4 times during the day that it would be completed but those days are gone.
well my guildies and i asked for a pet pony therefore arena net must deliver
Your comment is useful as a "miner helmet powered by solar energy ".
Thanks for your trolling
Confirmed! Solar powered helms for ponies !
Takes a few seconds to reach a group. You can also wait until the zerg passes by. Not an issue.
Also this thread https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/OMG-If-you-only-knew-this-tips-for-new-players/first
And other threads in the players helping players forum is very useful.
I started headstart and I would have needed to have played about three times more than I did over the years to be in the top hundred. It is and was for a- retentive personality types. No one else.
mine is 18.4GB. The release schedule is bi-weekly. They will be starting up new releases on the 21st of this month.
My veteran eyes think it is a really good thing that the base game is free to those joining now.
My veteran eyes have seen a lot of cool things in game over the years, no regrets.
My veteran eyes watched as my veteran hands typed my veteran credit card number.
That is too bad.
I hope that he finds success with his future consulting.
Has crashed once for me in three days. It is not a widespread problem.
There is a thread in support forums for this which will be better for getting the best results.
Let’s see.
Changes that persist.
Moa Racing (Lion’s Arch)
Not So Secret Jumping Puzzle (Gendarran Fields)
Twilight Arbor Aetherblade Path (Caledon Forest)
Tequatl (Sparkfly Swamp) completely redone
Sanctum Sprint (minigame)
Southsun Survival (minigame)
Kessex Hills (new events, hearts have changed, new daily chest)
WvW (ruins, ranks with specializations, traps, new area for GvG set aside)
PvP (solo queue for tournaments, observation mode and new arenas)
Crafting (six crafting professions now go up to 500)
Ascalon Catacombs revampThen there’s recurring content that isnt’ there today but is in fact new content that you can experience. Stuff like Dragon Bash, Bazarre of the Four Winds, the Queen’s Gauntlet and SAB.
Even the two dungeons that were available and taken away have returned to the Fractals, as new fractals…along with mistlock instabilities from level 31-50.
Those who say nothing has changed obviously aren’t looking very hard.
Edit: That’s not counting QoL updates of which their were many, including changes to champion bags.
Thank you. this is much more helpful then the previous if you dont like it go away post. Now I have some things to go check out.
I did not say go away, I said you tried it and found it wanting. Why would you want to suffer, unless you get a kick out of suffering.
It will be outdated again with HoT release, just play around.
Has been suggested, recently too if you looked. Will show up maybe but I doubt it since they would need to reimburse all the people who bought multiples plus it would be a long term loss for the company.
Saves a lot of time, a lot of stress and a lot of in-game gold that you find them unattractive.
Congrats.
Use a skin you like.
Not everyone, and no not done yet. Good luck with your next game.
Just advice but if the leader cannot communicate in sentences don’t join the guild.
You want Elves and dummies in game?
Anyway if they brought in a non-playable Terry Pratchett type elf maybe. Otherwise do not miss them.
Setup a toggle, so that once you rclick once, the computer thinks you’re holding it down until you press it again. Or, possibly you’re too rough on the mouse (or, since you didn’t say, using a mouse with a record/reputation for not being robust or long lived?).
I actually think the LClick is in the most danger. You can setup, say, the scrollwheel do LClick, but many don’t, and clicking through all those stacks of items/luck will contribute significantly to a keen GW2 players mouse LClick life expectancy being exhausted.
*edited because “h ard” is somehow in the kitten filter???
the word after hard turned it into a kitten
Just thank in chat, and res people you meet who are down. The game is very good that way.
After reading the responses I just need to say keep ignoring the sensationalists (on both sides). Get rid of the extremes and you can get in combination with metrics a really nice view of what is going on.
I have had a great ride, if I no longer enjoy this game in a year or so I will have absolutely no regrets and will always appreciate the work done by the team.

You need a baseline and personal contact for this to be worth anything. Good luck though.
They have explained why. You don’t believe it or agree with it doesn’t change things.
Congratulations, you have just identified yourself as the perfect mark.
how is paying some other player 50 gold taking money from the economy in any way more that as of now?
You do pay a 15% fee so if more money is transferred then more money will be pumped out the economy.
Yes but that happens now anyway, they may actually take less out since people won’t be buying/making the other mats required for weapons/armour.
Never would have known about this without your posting, thanks Behellagh.
You can’t lose armour, it can be damaged to the point it is no longer visible. Go to a repair merchant and fix it for free.
If you lost armour and gold you may have been hacked, contact support.
Also lvl 11 costs copper, and you get free armour from story and level up.
Since I have not seen anyone else say it, I like the release.
Lots to do, interesting events inside.
Good job ANET staff.
If you re-wrote this in a less round about way it is actually a good idea. Wading though it was not pleasant.
1 chest per day
How would anything change with being called an instance rather than being called a map? Right now for Wurm with GW2Community there are probably 600 people trying to get on a 500 person teamspeak server for runs that can take a maximum 450 people (3 wurm runs) due to lack of people wanting to be a commander. Why do you think these people would suddenly vanish or commanders suddenly appear if you called it an instance?
For first time leveling I would not stress how long it takes. Even after that it is not long even taking the long way around. First character I had it took me a couple of months, was not worried. I bought a new account during one of the $10 sales and took the long way around (no crafting a couple of story dungeons) and it took me about 20 hours spread over 2 weeks.
Ascended does not drop from the forge.

Does no one remember punch cards?
I’ve been playing computer games since you had to program them yourself. (BASIC, anyone?) played p&p D&D….
Haha that brings back memories. I was the kid that would go to Radio Shack in the mall and program my name to go all over on the screen on the TRS-80 display. Later I had a Commodore Vic-20 with a cassette tape drive. I remember many hours with my nose stuck in Commodore magazine coding a game and many times having it fail. I had a few games for the cassette drive and would get home from school and start loading it, go watch cartoons and come back an hour later and maybe it actually loaded.
My RP also started with p&p D&D. Those were the days were most of the graphics were in your head aside from a few pictures to look at in books. Things certainly have come a long way since then.
I had the Commodore 64. No tape drive on mine, but that external floppy drive that liked to overheat and catch fire if you didn’t have a fan running on it at all times.
I had the tape drive before the disc drive was available (or at least affordable). 1983. Fun times. Brings back memories.
I usually switched armour every 10 levels. It did not make a huge difference to my play style. If you get a drop of on-level armour or jewelery use it, the only time you really need to focus specifics of stats is after you are 80 and have picked a play style you enjoy. If you want money sell everything, if you want more Magic Find salvage everything.
I can’t really say that you have any sympathy at all from me.
FYI the farmers that farm linen get mad when you finish the event , cause if you set it up from the start ( witch you need to do most of the time ) it takes about 45min to set up that farm spot.
So when selfish people like you show up and ruin it , yes they get mad , specially when they ask you nicely to NOT finish it.
1 good farm spot in game VS a TONE of events you can go do some where else.
Thats why we cant have nice things . to many selfish solo players in GW2.
Farmers – * pls dont res mobs *
you- screw you i want to res 3 mobs to get my heart , you can wait an other hour so i dont have to wait 5min.
Your logical progression is flawed.
they are not blocked just not visible on mini-map. Can still use them if you find them.
The thing that confused me was, why is this release all about Europe? Doesn’t NA get some love too?
You would need a horse with no name, then the mounts crowd would go insane.
It could be “Welcome to the Jungle” on release day though. America would have to give up their royalties, no desert anyway.
(edited by Yargesh.4965)
Worst expansion the poster wrote, their posts before expansion where all about worst game they ever played. Very strange what some people enjoy.
Stuff….
You’re really bored aren’t you. Run out of socially divisive topics did we?
RNG is fine where it is. At best it needs to be taken down several notches to give players more feeling of progression. Doesn’t mean it shouldn’t take an average amount of time to get a given item, just means that there shouldn’t be a chance it would take an obscene amount of time to get an item.
I vote for this being the answer to the question.
It is for me it seems.
Again?
accessories can’t be crafted. Bought for laurels (daily and monthly reward) or guild commendations (guild events like bounty). Laurel vendors are in each starting city and in the WvW mists keeps.
It will never happen-
whether you like the gem store or not, it is for cosmetic and fluff items only- as it should be.
New content will be added to the game in due time and it will not be through the store. It might happen like the upgrade you can buy in the gem shop (heroic? can’t remember exact name). Just giving an ingame gold way to get things you can also buy outside the game with real money.
The upgrade in the store is just that an upgrade that also only gives you some fluff and cosmetic items.
I know the whole expansion topic is much debated on this forum but Anet said right from the start that they will not release free standing games like in GW because it splits the player base and that they want to build on GW2 until GW3 comes out.
So we will see expansion content- whether it is via living story as small bits, large lumps or however they choose to do it- I very very much doubt that we will pay for the actual content in the store.
If they do release a retail expansion, which I doubt- that is another matter and I would expect that to be in the store in addition to else where.I do however expect the store to carry new and more diverse things as the new content comes available. I also expect those things to be purely cosmetic/ fluff.
We will never have a buy x class or x skill in the store for gems- I am willing to take bets on that ;P
I agree, I also think that the store should be fluff. I did not write that the classes/whatever should be exclusive to the store but another option. I don’t know what they have decided to do about the expansion question, they absolutely should have a clear direction by now though. When it comes great, I am sure there will be lots of things people love and hate and will enjoy chewing over for many months before and after release.
Unless you really need to play WvW together there is not reason to be on the same server. Just join party click on the character icon of your friend and join them in whatever zone you are in.
Every aspect of the game except for WvW can be done from all servers in the same district (EU or NA) you can’t guest or play together cross district/server farm.
just by the waypoint to the priory at the head of the corridor is a NPC that will let you into the area and you can access the office.
NCsoft saw a potential market in China. One of their products is GW2. Laws in China are such that they could not just open up some servers and sell the game to people living there. They where required to use a Chinese company as the distributor. ANET is responsible for making sure the game functions within the law and to update it, that is it. All pricing, events, etc are up to the distributor. Legally ANET has zero say in that aspect.
You might want to correct the spelling of TAB so people know what you are talking about.
Personally I don’t use it so it is not an issue.
