You can thank the AB multi-loot exploiters for this, and ANET’s failure to fix it.
Considering their lack of removing any discussion of AB multi-loot or locking threads that mention it, it’s most likely that ANet doesn’t consider it an exploit at this time.
Hmm … the prices only started dropping in June but the patch was in April.
People blame AB multiloot but seems to have forgotten about the rares that are being handed out from other events. I haven’t really been keeping track but I know that I’ve been getting 1 or 2 rare containers from random events. Mostly in VB but that is just because that is where I play the most.
For any naysayers…
Yes, playable Dwarves are possible to make so let’s not go there. I can provide a counter argument for any and all opposing arguments
Sorry but no.
It’s an established fact that dwarves are a nearly extinct species that lost their ability to reproduce centuries ago because of their irriversable condition. And even if it could somehow be reversed, their numbers are too small and too spread out to sustain a viable gene pool. The remaining dwarves are(were?) slowly being wiped out by the destroyers through attrition. The few dwarves that still exist on the surface are preoccupied.
Now, no longer interested in maintaining their solidarity as a race, the last dwarves scattered across Tyria, finding battles to fight in the deep caverns or making new homes in far-flung hills, ever-watching the borders where caverns emerge into the surface world. Those few individuals who can rightfully claim to have met a dwarf in their lifetime are rare, and all speak of the strange, driven passion that consumes these few survivors. It is unclear how many dwarves survive. Only two are known to have survived: Magister Ogden Stonehealer and Rhoban Orebreaker.

I thought that the dwarves were all turned to stone and/or dead?
From a lore perspective how would that work?
Such a thing makes making them a playable race impossible.
and boring, everyone would be the same stoney colour

Although I suspect that if we are going after Primodious, then we might encounter the few who are still “alive” in a future story chapter.

That’s because we Asura are so amazing, we don’t need another “small” race to balance things out.

They can’t even make armor sets for the current playable races, you want to lock them down into making ALL the current armor sets for the new race as well as slowing down future projects as well? No thanks.
The “ley line anomalies” that spawn randomly around the maps are all based on the client. So maybe they are testing some new tech about phasing?
For me a 100% repping Guild would be an obstacle. I play at odds times and having US based and Aussie based Guild allow me to play with a group no matter what time I’m on. What reason is there for 100% repping ? Now that influence isn’t a thing why would a Guild care how many you belong to ?
To generate a sense of community and loyalty.
To me, as long as the rules of the guild do not violate the TOS of the game, guilds can make up whatever rules they want. If a guild wants to require all members only play male asura elementalists, that’s just fine. I don’t even care what the reason for it is. As long as they make it clear to potential members what the rules are.
So 100% rep guilds to me are fine as long as they make sure players asking to join are aware of that and what it means.
If a player needs to rep something 100% in order to be loyal to it, something is wrong. Loyal doesn’t equal exclusive.
I’m loyal to my friends from school, I’m loyal to my friends from work but I see both groups seperately as they have nothing in common. I go to pub trivia night with one group of friends and I go hiking with a different group. Why should they care? If I’m spending time on trivia night with friends, my hiking friends don’t tell me I can’t hike with them anymore.
If I want to do more than one thing, I should be able to have more than one guild. Any guild who doesn’t understand that doesn’t deserve my loyalty.
Am I the only one that feels like the account-wide guild system is an obstacle?
It would be nice, for me atleast to be a member of a PvP guild on my dedicated character, PvE character and so on. Right now you end up being kicked out for not representing on all your characters.Dont get me wrong, I understand and do not argue 100% rep. But I’d wish I could be in a guild per character.
And that’s where you misunderstand. It’s not the accound-wide guild system that is an obstacle here, but that 100% requirement some guilds have. And that requirement is in no way required by the game. It’s a purely player creation, and as such only players can change it.
Now that influence isn’t a thing why would a Guild care how many you belong to ?

You cannot force a sense of community and loyalty. If you cannot generate it without membership requirement, you won’t succeed with it either.

100% rep does nothing to generate a sense of community or loyalty, interaction does. A player could rep a guild 100% of the time, but if none of the other members interact with that player, or vice versa if the player does not interact with the guild, it would be meaningless and the player would likely leave.
My first guild was like that, nobody wanted to do things and eventually it died off and I left for a better guild.

“Right now you end up being kicked out for not representing on all your characters.” — that only happens when a poly-guild player belongs to a 100%-rep guild. Don’t join a guild like that if you like to do other things.
That is deserved ban >:}
Guilds should not be chat rooms with stuff to grind….Anet has taken out completely the idea of what a guild should be in this game.

No, I don’t consider it an obstacle. I would, however, consider character-bound guilds an obstacle. I don’t want to keep track as to which characters belong to which guilds (or why).
I don’t even think that guilds with 100% rep are a problem. The issue is when someone who isn’t a one-guild player belongs to a 100%-rep guild, at which point both guild and player suffer — not because either is ‘wrong’, but because they are incompatible.

Why don’t you argue with 100% rep? Guilds no longer gain influence from members repping them and non reppers can see guild chat, so what exactly is the compelling reason your PvP guild is requiring rep for PvE play? It sounds like that guild leader was trying to control everyone else for personal reasons, not for legitimate game reasons, and you’re better off without that sort of controlling behavior.

If i remember correctly, Cantha was dismantled because it offended the market in Asia for grouping all (Eastern) Asian cultures into one mega continent, and Anet was forbidden from making references to the Canthan continent / culture. The Canthan district was permanently destroyed in Lions Arch and I don’t think there is one in Divinity’s Reach. Even if they used up the entire map in Tyria and Elona, I think we would sooner go to the scrapped Guild Wars: Utopia map than back to Cantha
Aren’t all Asian cultures on a single continent called Asia though?
^ this made me laugh. I wouldn’t be surprised if he/she didn’t know this

Highly doubt that will stop them, just like wow didn’t care about turning Asians into pandas and grouping them into one continent….at least when creating Cantha in sure they will take the time to create a beautiful and culturally rich continent

A cat herder is a Wvw pugmander. I would love the cat herder title.
At least now you can just pay your 1000g and buy a badge of honor,
“I’m rich, you know”
You don’t need to play WvW much to make a legendary weapon, and you never need to set foot in PvP at all. The shards of glory and memories of battle are tradeable, so you can get them by farming PvE if you want.
The only thing that makes you step out of PvE is the gift of battle, and you can get that by just doing some of the simpler dailies for a few weeks and using the potions from them to advance the reward track – ones like Big Spender or Master of Monuments that can be completed in a minute or two.
This.
You do need to do WvW to get a gift of battle, no way around it. Several weeks of WvW dailies to get one gift of battle is utterly ridiculous.
Nowhere near as ridiculous as wanting a reward for holistic gameplay without wanting to actually play the game holistically.
I don’t know about that. You’ve never needed to participate in PvP to get a legendary weapon. Even after requiring shards of glory, you can simply buy them from the TP.

Originally and ideally, Legendary weapons were to be a badge of honor demonstrating that you have mastered all aspects of the game, not just those parts you want to play while ignoring the rest. Open world PvE, PvP, WvW, dungeons and fractals, everything should contribute some aspect of the Legendary. They got away from this in the years after launch (for example removing WvW maps from 100% map completion and the Gift of Exploration) and being able to buy completed Legendary weapons for gold kind of rendered that whole “badge of honor” thing pointless. So now it’s more a badge of grinding.
While I understand and appreciate your point, the idea that taking nine hours to complete the GoB reward track is “grind” is representative of a lot of what’s gone wrong with the MMO consumer-base.
I thought I recognized the OP. He is also a Chinese client player who has been sounding out how gw2 in China is dying. He might be right on that but he’s wrong on the western client. He’s made several threads in the subject of the Chinese client and it’s problems with retaining players.
Maybe his suggestion is for the Chinese client and he didn’t say.

And a bulk option for the mystic forge while we are at it please
I use mouse keys for repetitive actions like that. I type something in the inventory filter (e.g. ‘bag’) and press the [+] key until there are no more bags or the inventory is full; rinse and repeat.
^^^^ Thissssss. Shift + Alt + Num Lock turns on Mouse Keys. Especially great if you’re the type to wait until later to open all your boxes at once. It gives your number pad some control over your mouse cursor. + is a double click, 5 is a single click.
Few days ago i was opening a lot o bags and box, now my mouse’s left button is failing, now i will need to BUY a new one. I only wanna know when AN will implement the option: “open all bags/boxes”.
Why do you feel you have to accumulate so many before opening them? When you open a bag or chest, you don’t gain any extra chance of getting something bigger by opening many at once.
Sorry, but it’s not ArenaNet’s fault. You chose to play the game in the way you have. If you don’t have a problem repeatedly pressing a key/mouse button when jumping on a champ or chest train, you shouldn’t have a problem repeatedly opening loot boxes and bags either.

This also worked well for salvaging — type “masterwork,” open a kit, and press until there’s nothing left to salvage. Obviously the salvage-all is orders of magnitude better as would be an “open-all” feature. But in the meantime, there are workarounds that are very good.
Why would anyone eat pizza at an italian restaurant? I’m sorry, but you’re going to a pizzeria and stating you that you find pizza distasteful. Because in this analogy you’re actively seeking the thing you apparently like least about this game, then explaining how you don’t like it.

Honest question here,
Why would you choose to play an RPG if you dont care about stories?
It seems like choosing to go to a seafood restaurant when you dont like fish.
It’s not a bug.
Nevermore now summons ghostly ravens on crit (just like the sharks with the legendary spear – don’t make me spell its name
).
It’s funny because I was just about to post about it in the feedback thread. People had been complaining about the lack of special effects with the new legendaries (starting with Nevermore), including, but not limited to, the short ghostly trail left behind when running. I, among others, had objected that was the very reason I had crafted this weapon (I find most of the other legendaries too flashy). IMHO, Anet has found the perfect middle ground between the particles-lovers and the particles-haters: they’ve added something for the eyes, but not too flashy as the 1st gen footpaths.
Now, of course, if you play as I do a DD with 90% crit chance and easy access to quickness, that’s A LOT of ravens, but it’s nothing compared to some of the 1st gen legendaries effects.
PS: while we’re talking about undocumented changes: is the fractal 3-like piranha effect new when you make a target bleed (not sure if that’s the reason) with the legendary spear? I don’t use it that often, and it’s the first time I notice.
