I hope that Anet would have used the method of implementing repeatable content done by the secret world, the player see it as completed with the option to repeat it, there is no reset, the player can leave it at any time and continue where they left off, the repeat quest counter start after the end of the quest.
Each heart only takes 2 minutes or less to complete. As long as the number of hearts remains fairly low then it isn’t too big of a deal.
The only problem I have with it is that I have to redo the hearts in order to finish my map completion because I was mapping before and after reset. Sure they are quick but I find hearts to be boring and redoing boring content is…boring.
I think it’s so they can sell plushies later.

“ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE YOU TO YOUR WORST NIGHTMARES!!!
We have KRALKATORRIK GRAAH!, the might dragon of crystal!
We have Jormag ROAHR! and Zhaitan! SOULS!
Primordus*RRAAAHHHH!!!* and Mordremoth! Growl
And… uh…
This… is… Steve… HI Y’ALL!!!
It seems more that she has a plan to manipulate Lazarus, and doesn’t want the commander to know, since he’d never agree to it. Act like she has joined the Mantle, serving Lazarus…and then backstabbing him or giving us info. Jory had always been the detective of the group after all.
If that’s her plan then she’s in way over her head with Lazarus.
It’s most likely have to do with Belinda, remember Belinda spirit is infused within Majory sword…they might be hinting at a Ritualist elite spec? :o just being hopeful, hue.
Really? I thought the problem was with our character to be honest. Usually we are more willing to let our team members do their own thing and meet back later. Now it suddenly was an issue.
Personally i don’t think my toon should be ordering everyone around and having Marjory go off with Lazarus to keep an eye on him seemed like a good idea. Not sure what our objection was – she can clearly handle herself and Lazarus wanted to harm her, well he would have done so by now.
Except for the fact that we’re all ‘The Commander’.
I don’t get it either. It is obvious that she is an independent person, but she has always followed the commanders orders. She even has reminded others in the group that the commander was in charge. All of the sudden, she is telling the commander, “Kitten off! You’re not the boss of me!” Poor continuity of character.
WTF is right.
I haven’t played much since the HOT expansion. I wished I would’ve researched it before I bought it. I blindly trusted Arena Net. That’s what fanboyism gets me, a game I don’t care for. I never liked Mario Bros and I don’t care much for the jumping puzzles in this game. Maybe I’ll play again if they add flying mounts. There are too may other good games to waste my time doing something I hate.
Another thing that makes the game hard to get back into is the empty maps. My server population has fallen from full to medium since the last time I played. The most fun I ever had in this game was when the game first released. Every area was full of people running events. It was a blast. I wished they could combine players from all server, like in Aion, so that no map is ever empty.
Full to medium has zero to do with the PvE population. And by zero, I do mean zero. The listed population is the active WvW population of any server.
For everything else there’s the megaserver and servers don’t matter at all.
In other words, I’m on Tarnished Coast, but there is no physical Tarnished Coast server. It doesn’t exist. Therefore, no one actually PvE’s on Tarnished Coast at all ever.
All that number means is the number of people actively engaged in WvW has grown less.

I have not played Guild Wars 2 since the first week that Heart of Thorns was released.
So why have you come back to post now?
There have been improvements to HoT to make the experience more fun for more people but if you’re put off by flying and vertical zones then those things haven’t changed and aren’t showing any signs of changing. I will say that you can get better at things whilst not necessarily starting to love them. Things that are chores become simpler as you progress masteries and learn the maps. You could also make a conscious decision to only play when the maps are full / the meta is on to improve your experience if you’re finding it sucks to solo/duo. And nobody is stopping you playing Core Tyria of course, stopping playing GW2 because of HoT doesn’t make a lot of sense when there’s all those other maps that are still pretty active during the times I play at least.
pve, raid, pvp, fractal, dungeon, world clearing, legendary questing.. Zapped!
I still have to stand by my original thought. I don’t see HoT as successful as a matter of fact I still see it as a weakness to the overall game. And quite frankly I would like to see the stats on what the whole community likes. I mean I don’t know if you have looked around but were not exactly teaming with players lately.
In the end though its their game and we go along with whatever direction they want to go. Even though I would like to point out the community warned everyone about what was going to happen and urged players to think this through. When HoT hit the forums, reviews and others were begging people not to purchase it. However, we still have the luxury to play what we choose to play. I got through HoT in 2 weeks and really don’t expect to do anymore with that content or content similar to that. I would much prefer a turning back of time and going back to what was working and not be subjected to things I have no interest in doing like WVV, gliding, Fractals and PVP. Your taking the fun out of the game when you do that. Farming already feels like more of a job than anything fun.
Who are ‘we’? Just because -you- dont team with players lately, that doesn’t mean no one does. People should seriously stop talking of themlselves as ‘we’. Its okay if you don’t see HoT, as a success, that’s your opinion and its perfectly fine to think so, but when you express your personal opinion talk for yourself, do not try to talk for everyone else. If you go ingame and click on lfg you will see that there is constantly squads and smaller parties looking for players for any content.
Also if you see playing the content, more as farming then anything else I can see how you might have burned yourself out of the game. You say you got through HoT in 2 weeks? What does that mean? Through the story or you did -everything- there was to do in 2 weeks? Map completions, mastery leveling, achievements? If you truly did -everything- in only 2 weeks, what did you expect exactly? Surely I would be burned out, as well if I blow out through it so fast. Lastly how are you subjected to things you have no interest doing? Unless you want to craft legendary, no one is forcing you to play content you don’t like, but crafting legendary has always been tied with doing wide variaty of content, so thats not nothing new that arrived with HoT.
In the end, feel free to play or not to play whatever you like, just please, stop expressing personal opinions while trying to speak for everyone!

No I agree that HoT stinks. I have always hopped that they would dig a big hole and throw the thing in and bury it. I’ve been doing guildwars since the original game was launched (vanilla) and I tell you I’ve never had a worse experience with the game.
I feel that with this expansion we are just going to repeat HoT and once again will loose gamers or people will just sit where they are. I fully regret Hot the maps were terrible, gliding stinks, the Mastery System is very, very terrible, and quite frankly I am tired of having to farm all the time to get anywhere in the game and play aspects of the game that are for me not fun like WVW, PVP and Fractals. I am afraid that this expansion will just drive more people away as the Developers have not really fixed any of the issue prior to HoT or the issues with HoT itself.
But I continue to hope that not only will someone wizen up but realize your punishing your gamers. We played Guildwars because we liked the system your changes are terrible and we’d like you to put it back the way it was please. Thanks
You’d be punishing me by returning to flat maps and weak enemies. I would absolutely love to explore more maps like VB and TD. I also think they’ve demonstrated they can meet in the middle and design a map that is palatable to players who like vertical map design, yet not make it a nightmare for players who don’t (see BF). Moving forward, I hope we’ll see something for everyone.

My son and I quit at the same time. I think the difficulty in HoT and how it was so tedious is what did us in. It was not “fun”…
But isnt GW2 progrrssion horizontal? Meaning the volcanic area is just a new max level area, so I can now skip the HoT area?
You might consider working on your Gliding and Ancient Magic Masteries in Bloodstone Fen; they will probably come in handy in the new map(s).
Good luck.
Yep, I think op is going to be in for a rude awakening.

So…you haven’t played Guild Wars 2 in a year?

T1 materials aren’t useless — they can be promoted (for profit, most of the time) to their T2 equivalents and those will always be in some demand, due to ascended gear and the most recent legendaries.
You don’t have to do wvw for badges as they still drop from AP chests.
Yes, 100 from the regular chests, 200 from the large ones. A commander tag only costs 250 of them.

By the time you hit 1000 achievement points you will have enough badges of honor to buy one.
You don’t have to do wvw for badges as they still drop from AP chests.
I ve seen many “commanders” that dont know what they are doing already, so no it shouldnt be lower price for tag, it should be rather higher. 300g is a problem? what level r u? 20 after 2 days of playing this game? I ve got the feeling that u wanna tag cuz its so kitten cool and so wow etc. (but too expensive somehow). Dont want to offend you but if you were a commander type you’d be just tagged up and commanding some events not posting here how hard to get tag is.
In light of what happened with Wintersday last year, I would like to make a request not to require the Mad King’s Clock Tower JP for any Halloween meta rewards.
Just to avoid confusion, I don’t have a problem with an achievement or title for doing the Clock Tower JP because I can just skip that. What I don’t want is to link that to some larger collection that I would otherwise participate in (without allowing us to skip one of the items).
If you weren’t going to do the Wintersday JP, there wasn’t much point doing the other items in the Wintersday collection last year. Except for the JP and Festive Imbiber, I enjoyed working to get those achievements/collection items. In fact, I even managed to finally do the JP; however, the Halloween JP is even harder and I messed up my wrists badly enough doing the Wintersday JP.
In short, an achievement for the Halloween JP is fine by me, but requiring it for a meta-achievement (without the possibility of skipping) is not fine by me.
I completely agree with this. Many players don’t like JP and it’s not a standard MMORPG activity anyway, so why require people to do it? Personally I really hate them and it would ruin the fun of Halloween if I couldn’t earn a something because it required doing a JP along with the other actually fun activities. JP’s should be a fun side activity for those that enjoy them, but don’t require the rest of the playerbase to endure such stress when we’re supposed to be having fun.
As long as I can work toward the meta by doing the JP, I don’t have a problem with it not being required. Having more achievements than are required for the meta is a good thing.

I think these instances are pretty rare, for I play the game for hours every night, and a lot on the weekends, and I can’t remember this happening more than once or twice. I also happen to believe that many if not most are accidental, and not a form of griefing.
Can you imagine someone who accidentally spawns a banker or other element getting suspended? Really?? “Dear player — you put your golem banker in the wrong place, so welcome to SuspensionLand™.” That just doesn’t set well in my mind’s eye.
If someone does this to grief others, well, why not just move on and let it go? I cannot see the team investing the time to show spawners’ names, and I really don’t believe this request has a high level of priority. If a dev decides to take on this request, I’m sure they will post to indicate that.
Does rarity have ANY BEARING WHATSOEVER on giving us the tools to report deliberate doucebaggery?
You of all people saying “oh, just let deliberate griefing go” is actually kind of terrifying.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

Here’s a perfect example from tonight on the Captains Airship.
Someone “accidentally” dropped a box of fun on the trading post NPC and also “accidentally” dropped a box of fun on the Bank NPC
People do know that you can click on interactable objects to give them interact priority right? I have never once been blocked from interacting with something. You can always click on the object and then interact with it. This is a non-issue by people who aren’t aware of all ingame options.
Go ahead, click that harpoon

1. Some things, like Vistas, can’t be clicked on to give them priority.
2. Other things are difficult to click on, such as the bank vendors in Divinity’s Reach, who are behind a barrier.
3. If it’s something you need to use quickly, such as a bundle/environmental weapon in an event, you may not have the time to keep trying to find a point where you target it and not the player items.
This is a non-issue by people who aren’t aware of all ingame options.
I think it is you that lacks awareness of the issue, not the other players. But it only really becomes a big issue in very limited situations, so it’s quite likely you’ve never encountered them. If so, I envy your luck.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
Here are some reasons that aren’t malicious:
1. Thought they had double clicked on the feast from the bank tab, but instead from their inventory tab and spawned it instead of storing it in the bank.
2. Were trying to be nice and give boosts to those at the bank before they run off to do whatever but forgot to take a few steps away from the bank.
Those aren’t trays you see used for buffs at the events or in WvW. And those inexpensive-but-mostly-useless trays are not something someone might accidentally make and place a lot of.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
Wouldn’t it be easier to just make it impossible to grief people using spawnable objects?
- Certain NPCs can only be used the the player that spawned them — change those to windows (like the perma bank, which doesn’t create an NPC).
- Other objects can simply be given a lower priority than any other interact in the game — if they spawn accidentally or purposefully on a node, people would interact with the node first. The Bobblehead lab (or whatever) would be the thing that people have to struggle to use.
I’d rather prevent the issue than figure out who to punish (or what punishment is appropriate).
Yup. Leather was in a bad spot before they addressed it, but I don’t think they improved the spot its in at all. Instead of just saying that people are holding onto their leather, they need to be looking at why people are holding onto their leather. And a big part of that is because right now its too hard to farm leather (well it may be easier now with the nodes idk) so if you got rid of your supply, the only way you had to realistically get enough back to make anything in a reasonable amount of time was to buy it.
