This needs some sort of invul phase. When the event for defense goes up and the laser get 2 shot by a bug or champs that instantly spawn back there, it makes waiting an hour for this even pointless.

I have paid more than a sub. The difference is I paid mostly for what I wanted when I wanted. Some months I paid nothing. Others I over spent.

During the beta weekends (i hope no other game company ever repeats beta weekends…) Anet said they were “testing” the gem store and asked people to use their credit card and buy gems that they could use and then they would get the gems back and be able to use all the gems again when the game released.
I wanted to help the game and Anet out because I was really hyped up during the beta weekends and I was super excited about the game. I purchased $50 worth of gems during the beta weekends and then, at release, I purchased another $50 worth of gems and I bought all the available bank tabs at the time and three extra character slots.
During my vacation later on that year I purchased another $50 worth of gems.
I don’t regret the gem purchases and I’ve had fun (the most fun I have had outside of WvWvW was Halloween…). But I would probably not have purchased the gems or even the game if I had known how it would have turned out as it is now.
The original game was worth the purchase price for sure and I had fun with it and I am still playing.
I read about people spending ludicrous amounts of money in the gem store…

No, it’s not FF profitable because you don’t need to do it. You don’t need to buy absurdly expensive food to do anything, you don’t need to buy ammunition over and over and over, you don’t need to buy almost every piece of gear you use.
Been there, done that, I’ll take the way Guild Wars does it.

5 Laurels just isn’t worth it …. even in WvW … I don’t see any point in 1% reduction against something that never posed a real threat to me in the first place. And I don’t play fractals so I see no point in forging those ones either.
It just feels like …. if the generic +4 ones are supposed to be our general-purpose PvE ones??…. that they really failed hard here on the pricing of them. I just can’t justify 5 days of hoarding per infusion when I’ve got a growing arsonal {sic b/c filter} of ascended items rapidly outpacing that horribly meager benefit of filling those slots…. if I for instance filled 5 of them, that’s a whole month’s worth of hoarding laurels, for one third of the +Stats I get just eating a level 80 steak…
Okay maybe these tiny +Stats are permanent, but they add up to so little…. And that’s fine too, we don’t need insane levels of powercreep here. But the COST creep has already gone way beyond reason. When are we getting some other currency access to these? Why not Karma or Obbies or some other lower-demand currency here?

My party ….on more than one occasion has gotten to the end at the last boss…and then the leader decides to leave…therefore defeating over an hours worth of work….down the drain…no defeating boss no tokens….
If this in the game could get changed. I’m sure it’d be appreciated by many players….

Unless they’re planning on creating legendary armor at some point, I’d like ascended armor to have the option to change stats like the legendary weapons do now.
No compromise. If you run a path with someone and kick them at the end of the run so that their buddy can join and get your reward, there needs to be a report option for that, and people found guilty need to be banned. Forever.
I am sick and tired of scrubs getting away with this in paths. This needs to be cracked down on and hard.

It’s too good of an armor set that most people’s eye would explode, hence why anet has yet to release it.

I would much rather pay for an expansion than for a few transmutation stones.
So it’s been over a year. If this game had followed the same path they took in GW1, around this time we would have had a whole new expansion added to the game full of new PERMANENT content, new classes, new races, furthering the dragon story line, maybe added UW, or Cantha, or Elona.
Instead of that however, we’ve gotten a ton of gimmicky, slightly entertaining but overall underwhelming content (most of it reused with scavenger hunts, etc) that is totally removed from the main dragon plot, and injects random sub plots that are pulled out of the devs butts and are killing GW lore.
Was the living story experiment really worth it? I don’t think it was a good trade at all…

Not all of the hair options are to my personal taste, but it’s good to know that character creation is being widened.
Other players: what additions would you like to see to character creation in the future?
Me, I’d like to see a male charr body type with a thinner neck. The females get the option to have a slender neck, or a bulky neck, based on your body type choice. The males though, all have bulky necks. Personally, I’d like my male charr to have a scrawny look, therefore—thin neck.
Truly dark eye color options for humans, too! Deep brown and black please.
And scars that can be added to the faces of characters!
That might be bordering on a P2W situation, if you could buy unlimited buffs in the gem store.

The bosses are indeed very squishie, my tip: kick your cleric guard (they got no business in a dungeon) and 1 max condition build per team. -)
I agree that the rewards are terrible and will make this dungeon a forgotten place once we get all the achievements.
I disagree about the time, I think once ppl learn the tactics the encounter can be done in 20-25 minutes.
Don’t kick the cleric guardian, roll with what you enjoy. Personally I have a condi guardian which works out perfectly, even though people say it doesn’t.

The ooze took me and my group about 25 mins to figure out. A lot of the guides ive seen are pretty bad. They get one thing right though, you split up. Technically you only need 4 people. 2 ooze kiters and 2 ele kiters. The ooze kiters sit outside the door and wait for the ele kiters to pull all the eles back to the gears. Should be about 3-4 eles for each side. Then the ooze kiters walk in, and kite the ooze all the way to the gear while the ele kiters dps them at the gears. The ooze kiters will receive pretty much no resistance from the elementals since they are at the end by the gear. By the time the ooze get to the end. All 4 ele’s on each side will be nearly dead and you can kill them and then finish off on bringing the ooze.
The mechanics are fine, the problem is the area is bugged to hell. The generators randomly teleport you around the room, the holographic guys reset if you pull them too far, the boss resets into the corner of the room instead of returning to his spawn point as he should and his stuns are unbreakable.

Also charging in the gem store for something that was supposed to be free in the beta is…

myself and 4 other randoms beat it. We weren’t exactly a dream team but yeah… I have a few things to say about this dungeon.
I won’t do this path again, just like I only did f/u path before it was removed one time only.
The very first boss encounter “SPARK AND SLICK” is the hardest encounter in the entire dungeon, the other bosses didn’t even compare to it.
In fact is, the only way my group beat spark and slick was by somehow pulling spark out of the doorway and we ranged him down and it died, then we were ported inside after that and we killed slick when it was by itself. We didn’t realize the toxic damage was coming from the oil spills on the ground so we just avoided them instead and tried to kite the ooze away. We thought the ooze was getting stronger when absorbing oil so yeah….
Regardless… at the very end the reward was bad and there is a chest underneath the water in the dungeon after you beat last boss, only apparently you have a limited amount of time to get to (or something??) because when we found it, it was blocked and we couldn’t access it.
This dungeon, despite the ridiculously annoying ooze sync and the asininely annoying electric floor puzzle thing… was decent. I mean, it wasn’t that it was difficult, it was the fact that it was ANNOYING and I do not understand why the first boss encounter was the HARDEST. Why is the first boss harder than the last boss I don’t get it. The last boss was a joke all we did was stand there and melee him and then back off when he was invincible, rinse and repeat.
Incredibly lame though that we could not get the last chest because it was blocked for some reason, the one that was under the water. Very lame. took like 3-4 hours to beat that and yeah…. I won’t do it again because the reward isn’t worth the effort.
Even if I had an organized team on VOIP I don’t think I would do this dungeon. That first boss encounter (spark/slick) is way too hard. I got lucky by somehow pulling only 1 boss at the doorway while the other stayed behind. We could not beat that part legitimately and it was way harder than any other boss in the dungeon… I wonder if they even playtested this because I don’t understand why the first boss was the hardest. Please PLAY TEST your own dungeon….!
The reward for doing this was not worth the effort at all. Especially when the kitten chest in the water was BLOCKED….. awesome.

1. Limited-use item to access dungeons while area is contested (good for party only)
2. Costumes/Town Clothes we can wear over armor or a transmutation item to allow us to give our armor the appearance of costumes or town clothes. We could do it in GW1…
3. Stand-alone armor pieces (Helms/hoods/hats, back pieces, gauntlets)
4. Something like the GW1 bonus mission pack, but race-specific; in it we’d have something extra we could do that is similar to level 1-20 personal story missions. Those were way too short and were over way too early in the overall missions of the game.
5. Scrolls that can be used by level 1-79 characters to gain 1 level.
6. Item to restore a soulbound item to not soulbound status (only usable on items that were previously not soulbound, i.e. not items that came from chests or other rewards as soulbound by default).
7. Armor Skins themed by defunct/absent GW1 professions (Monk, Paragon, Ritualist, Dervish).
8. Armor Effects/Auras (Give your armor a sparkling effect, a rainbow hued effect, etc).
9. Mystic Forge Booster (Increases rate at which higher rarity items are given by Mystic Forge uses for a number of minutes/uses).
10. New Dye Packs that -don’t- include dyes already available in the game.
So you didn’t do Tequatl and you are already dismissing the new TA path without even knowing how it will be? I would like to know your definition of “epic.”

It sounds like they are trying to remove every bit of interesting lore from the game..
Makes sense for a game that prefers its lore non existent or external to the game.
