Why anybody would have 200g worth materials?

@ OP I find them to be apporpriatly sized. Not so huge that it’s distracting, no so small that you would miss it just glancing at some one.
Wings and many other fluff backpacks and similar items should never have been put in the game in the first place IMO. It makes the game look cheap and ruins the art and immersion.
It adds more great visual representations imo. I don’t find that it ruins anything. I would like to see cape type back items added though :P

Everything looks like it is made for an ant on asura.
The bigger they are, the more distracting they are. Huge wings that every single player can easily get from events would be annoying as heck.
I think the number of players required to down him is extreme.
Once this boss week is over and the craze dies down, it will be increasinly difficult to find a group for him. Oceanic and late night players may be screwed altogether.
Its pointless to say this probably, but Teq should have been a raid instance. 30-50 players… that way it wouldnt be so hard to make a group for him, and we wouldnt have this guesting problem and overflow nonesense. You could even make him more difficult in a raid.
Also, if they are going to make changes to him currently, I would rather they increase the rewards instead of nerfing him.
It either needs to be raid instanced OR nerfed so that open world hotjoin can succeed.
There’s too much prep for a hotjoin group to beat Teq in 15 minutes.
Raising the loot will only make it worse. People are trying to beat Teq just because it’s challenging, both from the actual event and the pre-event work that needs to be done.
Increasing the loot increases the chance non-players mess up the plans of the organized.
Now before people start getting into a “nerf to hell” chant like I know will be happening. Is it really that hard? we finally have an actually world boss. not some over done pinata but an actually BOSS. Its not us sitting there with a yawn as you work the usual motions. No, now the battle field is filled with the screams of terror and cries of suffering that is expected when taking on something with the title “world” boss. We have been given a gift people for the first time in gw2 short history we have a RAID level boss. we finally having to work together to survive not run around like blind mice.
I will however agree that if he’s made too hard no one will be interested in a low chance drop that like a precuror will never come. when it just feels like hitting a brick wall with our heads over and over again. so before players start picketing the streets of lions arch demanding the nerf bat be let loose to just give it some time. Thats all i’m asking sure he’s hard NOW but a month or 2 from now will have gotten back into the same rut as before and be complaining its too boring.
No.
Guild Wars 1 had the solution already. If the “main” server would get filled then an overflow would be created much the same way as it is here and if that one was full than another one etc. The big difference is that in GW1 you could choose from a dropdown menu which of the servers you want to go to.
Having this would let a full guild choose one of the empty overflows and fill it in an instant, while if there is still space available other people could join in the fun and help out. Also we need a faster afk kick from the server when big events are happening.
Then everyone and their mother would be creating overflows, which is, if you take size of the map into consideration, significant strain on server(s).
If you take the time to cooperate as a group, this fight is more fun than anything else in GW2 so far. I can’t wait to see the next world boss revamp!
~Blackgate since Beta~
Apart from low fps and invisible characters everywhere, this is probably the best fight I’ve ever had in GW2 (first being Liadri).
So here’s a thanks. And please, don’t listen to people who want to trivialize everything.
Pic of me soloing Tequatl. Bunch of leeches were following me around so I figured I’d let them get the chest. You’re welcome Darkhaven. You’re also welcome for the victory fanfare at the end.
Special thanks to me. #1 Player/Commander NA. Promotions.
They won’t. They don’t want to introduce raids for whatever price game suffers.
And dungeons are still about not getting hit by 1-shot and moving from 1-kitten AoE red circles. They should rename game to Dodge Wars 2;)

Killing tequatl with a guild on an overflow doesn’t really count as an overflow kill.
here is a little tip on how to get to your home server:
-do NOT try to get in the map 5 minutes before the fight, for best results you should get in as soon as the event ends so you can take part on the next one.
-if you still can’t get in, ask to a guildie or a friend that is in the home server to party up with you, that way you can join him/her on the home server
-maps have a soft and a hard cap of players, when the soft cap is reached you will go to overflow, but doing the party trick you will get in immediately. If the hard cap is reached there is no way to get in the map, BUT! you just keep trying to join your friend, at some point someone is gonna log out or get out of the map and if you keep doing the party trick you will get that spot.
still Anet has to address this issue, overflow maps are ok for normal events, but this kind of thing, that require coordinated group effort, it totally ruins the experience
I love the new Teq, I’m really hoping all the other world bosses will become harder.
the time we spent to organise, the time we spent on waiting were too long and when tequatl does arrive, match is only 15-20 mins .. people go afk due to long waiting.
this is out of our control. if we can enter teq battle just like we enter a dungeon together, it will makes it easier to manage.

What’s going to happen when Anet revamps all the world bosses? Does anyone really think their server will be able provide the number of players needed to fight 2 or 3 world bosses?
Anet will have to make Tequatl easier. As new revamped world bosses are realized.

Fighting Teq on SBI, the 50% Battery Defend Event started, and Teq moved to the middle area as normal. however the UI showed 2 instances of the Defend the Mega Lazer event, followed by a third instance of the event failing immediately after starting. This froze the main timer. However, players were able to DPS Teq in the ground, and bring him to 25%. This started the 25% Battery Defend Event, which proceeded as normal. Teq landed again, but once again was in the ground and the timer for the main event still did not start. Players were then able to once again DPS Teq at their leisure. They got full rewards, including the end chest.
This was the 2nd time we defeated Teq today, not sure if this glitch related at all to our previous win. Doubtful, as we beat him twice yesterday as well without it glitching.
If that is the case they are being pretty shortsighted, then. (But I think you’re wrong) He isn’t going to attract 80 people forever. Other bosses will come along and people will develop other priorities once they’ve seen him die a few times.
(Also, are people beating him with 80? No idea what the soft and hard caps on zones actually are, myself…)
Ugh, so Scarlet and all of that annoying magitech is going to invade the dungeons now.
I was content with dungeons being pseudo-medieval fantasy (well excluding COE), but now they’re going to be invaded by aetherblades and clockwork crap.

If You like Tequatl difficulty where it is vote up this post. If you like it easier vote up the reply beneath this one.
Vote up this one for hard difficulty
I’m not him obviously.
I just post his video here because I consider it important feedback.

Personally I fully believe that he should become a 40 man instanced guild mission, and leave an easier, less rewarding, version on the outside world, with a strict timer, that relies on all the event’s of the surrounding area.

Allow me to clear this up.
1. The meta will be available for 2 weeks.
2. The Tequat’l fight is permanent content; Rox and the dragon clue hunts will go away after 2 weeks.
3. “Boss Week” is a Shark Week joke.
The problem is that what would happen is you’d have, say 59 players, and then say 5 more people join. If you don’t scale the time when more people come in then people would just leave until the event started, then flood in and easily beat it. If you did scale it immediately though, you’d have people getting mad at people for joining the fight, and that’s not fun for anybody.
Your suggestion might kinda work for scaling instanced content, but if it was instanced then your suggestion wouldn’t really be needed.
Cool to share your ideas though! Thanks!

Pretty much what tittle says ive been camping my OWN homeworld for about 3hrs, why? because just a few server that at least is coordinated enough to get teq under 50%.
What will happen after i kill teq, also getting powerplayer achiev (wich is easy, the hardest part is killing teq)
im not planning of taking him down AGAIN, why you ask? just not worth it, im a hardcore player, proud owner of Liadri mini and SAB tribulation skins, hardcontent != be grouped with everyone and everykind of player unwillingly.
there is a HUGE GAP for personal skill and that can be seen from latest updates where people just complained about Liadri and SAB as “impossible”, those updates were INCREDIBLE awesome because you relied on YOUR personal skill to beat it, if you failed it was only YOUR fault, but now they added an event where ANYONE can fail it for you and 100+ players.
i dont know if Anet have highs standards about their own player base (wich they know are MOSTLY normar [casual]) players, and their hardcore players is very very small.
this event doesnt please any group, because hardcore players have to be grouped with normal players [ie; newbies] people that just afk, or clueless players, its IMPOSSIBLE to do in an overflow with at least 3rd party software and 80% of players that knows what to do and they are positioned in the most important roles.
(for you that claim an Overflow did it, it was a guild that went into an overflow got some buddies went into TS and took him down, and thats my friends is a RAID simple as that, they made an instanced version of Tequatl).
This is not worth it, having to camp a home world to get a better opportunity to kill tequatl is a bad design.
some might defend this event, and i respect that but we all have to agree that players specially normal players get tired of failing, and sadly they are the new blood that keeps event running, how many times can you replicate a BG, TC, [TSK] in a week?.
lets say they all do it once per day thats 7 hours (per succesfull server) of 168hrs of gameplay. between 26 servers (at least NA).
this is a bad design, badly scaled, badly implemented.
TL;DR: im a hardcore player but i wont be a recurring tequatl slayer.

Any of you guys are under an impression that as it currently stands, the new “elite” encounter boss is not some dragon called Tequatl but a monster called Overflow? That is an impression I get at the moment after yesterday’s and today’s 10 hours in total of fierce combat. Most of that combat involved praying to get on home server. Overflows? All I’ve been in today are bringing him to 95% max, people already gave up if they know they are in an OF. Home servers? I only managed to get to one Tequatl attempt at home server and it ended at around 85% (with ~50 on Teamspeak). My guild chat (and its a large guild) already looks like “Dont go to Tequatl, you wont make it anyway, lets go some CoF or WvW instead”. And I am still here, standing in front of a giant monster called Overflow. It’s a legendary mob and it keeps yelling “You shall not pass!”.
Many Commanders are not good leaders and would use this ability to put guildmates on the turrets.
