It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Players not wanting to participate in a game of chance (what BL keys ARE) is a choice that every player has the option to make. Suggestions on what changes would make you consider participating are (I’m sure) welcome by Anet. Projecting moral outrage at the concept of gambling in general is just wasting your typing skills and time.
Some of you fail to realize that without RL money gem sales, the entire game would shut down. Whether you like it or not, Anet must promote gem sales to keep the game active. It’s just a fact of the economic model they have chosen to finance the game.
It’s 100% optional to NOT help finance the game by not buying gems or playing another game that does not have an economic model that “offends” your sensibilities. I personally find the concept of paying a monthly fee to play a game abhorrent and will never do so. Each player has their own “line in the sand”, they will not cross and that is part of being an individual. Trying to apply that individual belief to a wider audience (or the entire game) is just narrow minded and implies a rather self centered point of view.
Note that there IS another option to obtain BL keys than buying them and Anet has repeatedly stated it is NOT considered an exploit.
Fate is just the weight of circumstances

It is not griefing. Stop calling every action you don’t like as griefing.
This shows some pretty epic action happening on HoD, although the video is not mine personally and not sure about the audio. (sorry if this like triple posts but the forums are acting up for me)

Toughness is hardly broken. Any glass cannon that walks around in WvW knows this.
im not at all sure what youre talking about. if this is a troll topic, bravo. if its not, holy kitten you suck
Hey GW2 players, GW2 developers and Arenanet Staff.
I just wanna say thank you for making this amazing game. Thank you for supporting us so fast, for your hard work, for making a world with amazing play features, good loadscreens, stuning scenarios, awesome videos. For being so original. For working so hard for us.
Thank for being part of one of the best entertainment moments I have everyday, since 23 August 2012. And please, just ignore the haters. Put them in their place.
Anyway, was just this I wanted to say.
Thanks <3

only a WvW player spends 100 gold on guild catapults and omegas before reset.
only a WvW player uses the “join squad” feature.
only a WvW player wishes there was a full sized dolyak back piece.
So you have to balance between hitting Barradin and CCing the Menders?
Awww, you had to think outside the box how to defeat him? Good. That means this fight is well designed and it gets you thinking about your profession and the boss fight environment.
I welcome more boss fights like this in the future. If any boss fight gets us thinking about our class, it’s obviously doing something right.
Eh, that water looks deep enough…
My bank spans multiple characters, all of whom are female.
As most people can attest to (possibly from finding out the hard way), a girl does not like people looking through her bag, let alone sharing pics on the internet of what is found therein.

Actually a rather large amount of suggestions have been implemented ingame.
You have to keep in mind however that the forums does not represent the whole player-base and even the forum users doesn’t agree on the suggestions.
Another thing to keep in mind is that it takes time to implement and balance things.

Well, Mage would be Elementalist…
First thing about being support:
- Deal damage, you don’t get contributions othervise, a design choice to make dedicated healers who don’t attack impossible to use.
If you want Support character, they would be:
- Guardian (Master of support, boon based mostly. Increases armor and heals when supporting, some skills apply boons on each second.)
- Elementalist (Their jack of all trades design allows them to be the most powerful healers, though loses on boons when compared to Guardian.)
- Ranger (Best mobilility based support, since they can spam Regeneration and Swiftness, even give Vigor to nearby allies)
- Warrior (Best Offensive Support, capable of quickly apply offensive boons, has very weak healing capabilities, can buff and revive allies with Battle Standard)
- Necromancer (Condition and Boon manipulation support, not quite potent healer, but seems to cover it with inflicting conditions and converting boons to conditions on the enemy. Can also bring in small army of minions to soak up damage.)
- Mesmer (Aggro/Combat support, brings in additional assist with clones and phantasms, which then give allies opportunities to attack and pull out when needed.)
- Thief (Aggro/Combat support, can give nearby allies stealth to break aggro and apply venoms to allies’ weapons)
- Engineer (Bunker Down support, offers good variety of defense turrets, can also buff, remove conditions and boons with elixirs, can also inflict a quick burst of conditions)
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.

The balancing point should have been that all classes could heal/tank/dps in some fashion without dedicating one person to a single role. If you wanted to spec more into healing and be good at it, it should be possible.
That would solve nothing; look at other MMO’s that have hybrids. People still trait/specialize in what they want to play and most of the time that’s as a damage dealer. You’d still be stuck with queue’s of 45 minutes because the amount of people that want to play a healer is significantly less than DPS.
(edited by Rangersix.1754)
This game was designed with the express intent of NOT having a healer class.
If you ever stood in an outpost in GW1 spamming “LF monk” for 15 minutes, you would get WHY……
A 45 minute queue in any MMO will make you understand why GW2 moved away from tanks and healers…

This game was designed with the express intent of NOT having a healer class.
Well, OP did say WvW and World Bosses. He is either extraordinarily fortunate, or confused/mistaken.
So much about the fact how much you can trust what people say in forums
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Yeah they don’t drop anymore, another feature removed.
Replaced by account bound dyes. Pretty good trade if you ask me.
When I first started playing all I played was PvE, hated the wvw map completion task, would only jump in if we had a specific tower or keep. Fast forward to today…all I play is wvw. I just jumped in there and followed the dorrito, got the points of interest, but at the same time didn’t even care about the points of interest…because I started to have fun. This may not relate to op’s specific situation per say, but to all the pve players that need map completion, take a risk. Step outside your comfort zone a little. You never know you may find a game mode that you really really really enjoy.
Wu Táng Financial [Táng] – YB
I sympathise with the non-WvW players who complain about map completion being dependent on WvW – I truly do! Instead of patronising them with suggestions of switching servers (c’mon Guys .. we shouldn’t be encouraging what amounts to bandwagonning, surely!), I turned my enormous intellect towards finding a solution for them..
Premise: You are not alone .. there must be a large number of players, who, like you are not interested in WvW but must complete the WvW maps in order to get Map Completion. This is the key to your success.
Step 1 Create a new guild. Call it something appropriate for the task at hand .. I Hate WuvWuv [MAPS] sounds good to me.. but you choose..
Step 2 Advertise your new Guild as widely as possible.. the guild is specifically set up to complete the WvW maps.. nothing else. No hardcore “We Want GvG” players allowed. Mission Statement: This guild will have regular forays onto the WvW maps specifically to get to POIs and Vistas and SPs. It will only run if there are at least 50 forming the train.
Step 3: Carry out your mission statement.
The risk here is how to maintain the momentum.. since everytime one of you gets map completion thanks to your efforts, they will leave you to return to the non-WvW aspects of the game. So you’ll need to keep recruiting constantly to keep the numbers high enough to achieve your objectives.
Good luck. Hope the above works for you.
(I have to know! In WvW, do Legendary NPCs drop Legendary loot?)
Well, you rather wait until your server get these keeps/tower for you? Then why you are complaining in the first place?
Not sure if some people blind or trolling. You CAN’T win against zerg! There are simply no people to play with in WvW! What do you want more from me to tell you? Can’t you understand what I am writing at all?
Look at the attachment picture, just look at it. When its like that 24/7, how could you complete WvW?
http://www.gw2score.com/server/Underworld
Looks like ya’ll have flipped their bay 15 times, their hill 9 times, and their garri 5 times. So it’s definitely not like that 24/7.
Looking at the state of their corner in EB it seems like right now would be a pretty good time to grab some guildies that also want map completion and go hit their bl.
I know it’s a crazy thought but it might require you actually playing to get those points.

Q: What can make WvW as good as DAoC’s?
A: Rose-colored glasses and a time machine.
I’m not being sarcastic. The RvR concept implemented in DAoC was in a different era.
I loved DAoC and the RvR there. Still my all-time favorite MMO; and I have no illusions about the balance issues (52 classes at one point) and the problems that ToA created. (Yes, I was on the internals board.)
First, there was no such thing as server transfers. If you wanted to play on a different realm you rerolled from scratch. And PvE leveling, then releveling RRs was painful. Or you bought a “used” account, and whatever reputation went with it (which back then, was everything.) Let’s not even talk about the weapon leveling process that erupted from ToA.
The population was incredibly small compared to today’s averages. (300k at peak).
And “coverage” back then meant that someone scheduled a 3 or 5 AM surprise relic raid when everybody else was sleeping.
And as for maps, they weren’t even trying to be balanced. Most of the fighting took place in the large, open, flat areas of Emain, affectionately known as “the golfcourse”.
And do we really want to go back to paying for gate repairs as well as having to haul lumber while encumbered? I know I don’t.
Those are most of the significant differences. Not all are good ones. Yes, realm pride and community there was amazing. That sense carried forward into this game’s implementation of RvR in some small measure.
As much as I believe server transfers are an issue (and have said I don’t believe characters that have stepped into WvW ought to be able to transfer), it’s a different era, and transfers have been a game industry norm now for almost a decade.
So yes, there are things that can be done to improve GW2’s WvW… but it needs to be a step forward refining what currently exists. And the current design implementation already includes server transfers which can’t be undone. I can’t see throwing that out to take a step back towards DAoC.
/turns discussion back towards details such as siege, etcetera
Yes, let’s take things back to the way they were in DAoC and then this can be a desolate deserted game like that one. Their aweful system is why the game is now defunct. Please think this through.
Wardens of Destiny [WoD], Sealed by Fate [Fate], That’s No Tornado [SAND]
My feelings? It does not need to be said over and over again. There’s a reason these things are not in-game.
If it’s not instant, it means Dulfy failed you?
Get a grip and do something for the community for a change.
- Dueling
- One-On-One Trade
- Gear Inspection
- This game is about coming together and working as a team, a unified body to rise up and destroy our common enemy: the Elder Dragons. Charr and humans, who have been at war for hundreds of years are even at peace right now. Duels just don’t fit into PvE. Hence why there is PvP. You can easily go into the Mists and PvP duel in an empty room or go into WvW and duel another person by using /bow.
- Nobody wants to stand around for hours spamming S>ETERNITY 5K OR BEST OFFER. Seriously, we get on the game to play, not to barter. Not only is it annoying having to stand there and spam your clever message to get anyone interested, but it’s annoying trying to find anything with the ridiculous amounts of spam other users are creating trying to sell their wares as well. Nobody can read the chat when it’s moving at 100mph full of S>OMNOMBERRY PIES or B>FROSTFANG. The trading post gets rid of this altogether. There is no scamming through the trading post, and there is no spamming through the trading post. Trading post is better.
- Why do we even need gear inspection? It’s very obvious someone sucks when you are scraping their butt off the floor every 2 minutes. Even a character with godly armor and weapons on can still be an awful player.
1) The entire point of the open world in GW2 is cooperation, not PvP. There are Arenas in the Mists that allow you the dueling you claim you want.
2) One on one trading was the bane of GW1 with Arena.net having to deal with constant complaints of scams. They washed their hands of it. We are why we can’t have nice things.
3) And there’s just as loud of a frenzy from people who can’t stand achievement points being used as a gauge of players. They’ll be even more kittened off by gear-related elitism. No thank you.
4) Gear progression is an inane, empty, stupid treadmill to keep you playing. I don’t want it in the slightest. It can stay away from this game, thank you.
You ask for those things and never get them BECAUSE “everyone” DOESN’T want them. In fact, I’d wager not even a significant minority want any given three of those things.

I love this game, I buy the odd gems when I can, because I love this game.
They’ve only recently re-vamped the hero panel. I’m sure saving specs is being worked on.
When you say “years”, the game is only reaching the 2 year mark. That’s still very early for the game. Not saving specs, though annoying, doesn’t ruin the game for me.
Some devs reply, most don’t, because it’s better they don’t. And that’s fine. I don’t need dev response to know that they are reading, and they do work on bugs. Just some are easier to fix than others.
Anyway all this has been said before.
I support when I can, because I really like this game. I like the LS, and how it’s progressing. I like the style. I have fun, and I’ve spent alot of time in this game. Idk how many console games I’d have to go through to spend the same amount of time.
