Working as intended, learn to counter it, no need to call for nerfs when you just need to learn how to play the game instead.

Oooh ooh! even better idea. Why dont you stop, avoid or jump over the fear wall instead of running through it?
situational awareness dude. get some
Why don’t you carry stability like the rest of us.
For me,
WvW is about fighting better, dancing with a melee train, and then dropping a meteornado on their head and watching em drop. You’re pitted against other players who are trying almost everything they can to stop you, and you need to use misdirection and tactical opportunity to your advantage.
It’s incredibly satisfying to take advantage of a distraction, like a fight inside SMC to swoop in and paper a fully fortified tower that the enemy server spent hours defending and upgrading, especially if you’re outnumbered or “outskilled” by your opponent.
I’ll bait enemy servers into killboxes, and I have the satisfaction of tricking 50 players into filling my bags.
WvW is a place to practice your synergy between your players in an open environment against organized groups. For me it has absolutely nothing to do with who wins or who looses, but a place to practice your weaknesses and capitalize on your strengths in any way possible.
thx mango for this nugget ^^^^^
EoTM is a Karma train. In comparison, it’s MIND-NUMBINGLY boring. Once I was in EOTM for a whole 3 hour match. I was so bored at the end of it i actually had to take a nap. it was like 1 in the afternoon.
anyhwoo, thats my 2cents.

For some reason I’m more looking forward today patch to get WvW Season 2 Rewards than LS2 on July 1st. We’ll get 2 skins!
As a novice trader, I’ve noticed a disturbing trend. Over the past week, we’ve seen the crashing of the Dusk market. Right now, the sell price of Dusk is hovering at around 1,000 Gold. Not too long ago, Dusk’s sell price was near 2,000 Gold. How does a luxury item lose 50% of it’s value so fast? The answer here is DEFLATION!
That’s right. I think the current state of the GW2 economy is in a downward spiral. The evidence of Dusk losing that much value in such a short time span is too much to dismiss. The demand for this item has collapsed. But there’s hope! Having graduated with a business degree, I have access to some powerful economics textbooks from my college days. Using this wealth of knowledge, I’ve researched multiple scenarios, and discovered that the aggregate level of demand can be offset by a stimulus. Anet’s reduction of farms has led to a reduction in the velocity of Gold, so the answer to our problems is a short term buff in Gold output.
I’ve attached a graph that shows what would happen if Anet followed my suggestion.

I just wanted to post and express my thanks to the customer support team at anet, especially in the face of those slightly more impatient customers.
I have just had my second account incident with them (mobile authentication after getting a new device) and they dealt with it within a matter of hours.
Both times I have dealt with them, they have been swift, efficient and courteous.
Keep up the good work guys.
Devon Carter…. Devon Carver… man, that’s not confusing or anything. /sarcasm
Only confusing if you thought my name was ever Devon Carter.
It has come to the point that as WvW has not received real updates since launch that we ourselves would not mind doing the testing.
I can appreciate that many people don’t like EotM, but don’t conflate a lack of updates that you personally like with a lack of updates. WvW has added a great deal of content and rewards over just the last calendar year.
Hopefully you will find more you like in future updates and we’ll continue to add to the game.
As many of you know, at least those who play on servers with lower populations. Since the addition of Mega Servers, it has become almost impossible to recruit players, and ask for assistance when it comes to World vs World. What i’m suggesting is a chat like /world /server or something of the sort that would allow you to directly communicate with players ONLY on your native server. Ever since the great migration, and the addition of Mega Servers, it has become practically impossible to ask for assistance in WvW. Half the time I am speaking to the people we’re currently versing, and am met with hostility. Why is there no such chat command to allow us to communicate with our server only? Will the Mega Server pairing ever work as it was stated when first added? I miss being able to goto Lions Arch and speak in all Caps asking for assistance and actually receiving it, instead of insults from our current match ups. Please take this into consideration and hopefully leave a response of some sort.
Tengu, and Kodan. They both tend to be popular choices when this question is presented. I just find the character design, and lore to be fascinating. I also am intrigued about the potential for how their involvement would be tied into why they are helping the five currently playable races alliance.
With the kodan they, like the Norn have faced the wrath of Jormag and would be interesting to see them join the fight to retake their homeland, and the tengu, a very insulated race, seem to be poised to be in peril from mordremoth. I’m curious to see what kind of destruction they would hvae to face before allowing themselves to open up their gates, as zhatain seemingly wasn’t enough of a problem.
Most of your gripes come from one source – you want your strategy done in the forge. You’re looking for game strategy and depth via stats on gear.
GW2 strategy is done in the field from battle to battle with proper skill selection with utility skills, weapon type you use and traits supporting the build.
Equipment stats are tools for supporting a build, not making it. If you check combo fields, cc, and read carefully what each skill does, you’ll see the depth you’re missing.
And skinning is awesome. I see no fun in being the n-th guy clad in end-game armor wielding end-game sword that looks same like all the rest of “pros”.
It’s “lose.”
Sorry if it’s been said, I just don’t know how much longer I can see the title of this thread before I go insane.
Hey everybody,
This Friday on “Ready Up” I’ll be joined by Game Designer Karl McLain and Game Design Lead Jonathan “Chaplan” Sharp for a discussion on balance design philosophy. “What’s that, and why should I care?” you ask? Great question!
We won’t be going over future changes we’re making, but rather discussing the ideas and philosophy that drive balance changes. We’ll also be discussing our vision of what purpose/role each profession serves in relation to another.
To get started, we’d like to ask a few open-ended questions to all of you. In your opinion, what should the strengths and weaknesses of each profession be? What’s your profession’s kryptonite? And remember, no single profession should be the best at everything!
We’ll be reading through your thoughts over the next few days, and we’ll try to address as much as we can on Friday. Feel free to post your thoughts below, but try to keep your replies relatively short (I’d aim for under 300 words).
As a note, the previously announced “State of the Game” episode has been postponed, but rest assured – it will happen!
Thanks all! Let’s keep this constructive.
Do you have nothing better to do? S1 rewards were terrible, move on already.
They were terrible, but that’s not the point, it’s the principle. Your statement is ignorant to that fact and assuming you got your S1 reward, it makes your statement annoying to.
And yes i got mine.
And in principle you should never get angry over something that is at best, a minor inconvenience. No one was hurt, no money lost, people didn’t lose their ability to get gems after purchasing them, no game modes were shut down, no mass crashes or hacks etc etc. This entire issue is literally a certain number of people waiting awhile just to get a skin, or rewards that can be obtained in other game modes in the meantime, and the level of outrage is utterly unreasonable. I see less people get upset over real problems than this, and it’s just astounding.
Hey, all right! A solution that makes sense. Thanks, Anet.
Thanks for solving the issue so quickly!
The 100 extra tickets are much appreciated
While mapping WvW maps was annoying, it was expanded my playing experience and made ‘been there done that’ all the more rewarding.
And somewhere along the run, before I realized, I found it fun.
Be in it to win it, buddy.
Edit:
They could, however, make the greatest of all titles by cutting out the WvW maps. Imagine it:
‘Been. There. Done.. o wait…’
(edited by Exxcalibur.6203)
To thank you for your patience while we sorted out this bug, all players who completed the meta achievement will receive an additional 100 tickets.
Thank you once again for your understanding.
I would rather say , that WE should apologize and thank YOU for being patient with US.
I don’t even think the player-base deserves these extra 100 tickets, taking how much rage, ungrateful and childish behavior you had to be put up against, just because they didn’t get their pixels on time. Zero imagination and understanding for both, developers and the fact, that sometimes issues happens. It’s just greed greed and deliver NOW or burn in hell. Such immature behavior deserves no compensation. But regardless, thank you! Will put these extra tickets into good use
Oh how dare they! Nothing is supposed to be exclusive in this game! What are they, entitled?! I want it I want it! ahem special snowflakes, speshul snofleks! (insert special snowflake joke here).
/sarcasm
I don’t have a problem with it and I collect minipets. The llama is for those who participated in the ToL, not for farming champ trains/boss blitz and buying it off the gemstore/TP. Adding it to a reward track in PvP is just lame since you progress through those whether you win or lose.
this 1000 times
give the PvPers SOMETHING special that doesn’t end up as a gem store release or a grindfest
because for some reason, i find winning a PvP tournament takes more skill than facerolling through PvE content and should be rewarded as such

I’ll just explain you guys something about code. What we actually call a “bug” is a line of code doing something exactly as it is meant to. Unfortunately it may not be doing what you want it to. In this case, a slight oversight probably lead to a wrong calculation of reward eligibility for some people. So they had to spend a considerable time finding the correct values. It happens and you wouldn’t like it either if an angry mob appeared on your doorstep after a simple mistake. Coders need to work with a clear mind to function not under stress or fear. So chill and actually practice some empathy for once. They made a sweet gesture as well so it’s time to stop the angry mob antiques…
I knew anet would listen) Thanks Anet! and really shame on the people who based anet for nothing.. These are the guys who work their kitten of to bring you so much unique amazing content in such frequent intervals and you burn them for one simple mistake.. Honestly shame on you… Not being a white knight here but a realist…
I’ll make a couple of points here to hopefully clarify this issue.
1) It takes a very large amount of time and effort to make a new map. It’s definitely more than a 6 month process from start to finish. Especially if we are talking about building a new borderlands taking all the thing we’ve learned since the game came out into account. With that in mind it’s a big task. It took us a little under a year to get EotM built and shipped from conception to release. So that is a more reasonable timeline for a new map.
2) The area we added to Obsidian Sanctum was in progress prior to the incident mentioned above and, while it didn’t take a particularly large amount of time, was still a process of over a month. We don’t release map changes without thorough testing. Keep in mind that was just a small change to an existing map, not a completely new map.
3) We currently, unfortunately, don’t have the ability to rotate maps in and out of the game in the manner discussed above. We have talked about this concept many times and it is something we’d like to be able to do long term, but it is not a small task given the technical structure of our game.
All of those things being true, we absolutely want to make new maps for WvW and when we have them ready to talk about and show off, believe me we will. It’s very important to us that when we do release a new WvW map it is a clear example of what we think the ideal WvW map would be. That means we will test the heck out of it and do everything we can to make sure it is even more awesome than the current maps. I realize this isn’t a timeline or an answer to where are more maps, but it’s as much as we can give you right now and it hopefully gives some insight to the size of the task. As I said, as soon as we have more to talk about or show, you will hear it.
You guys should already give up. I was like you like half year ago. I was playing gw2 motivated by my collector spirit. Then after things like Mini Mr. Sparkles, Mini Doylak from WvW, Mini Bloody Prince Thorn that requited large amount of grind, I finally understand it.
Mini pets were not designed to be collectable.
(just like achievements, but people still think they have to have all of them, because in the begining of gw2 achievements were too easy. And now people cry about Liadri 8 orb achi or things like that. Even Devs want to change the way we look on achievements with the journal thing and challenging achievements in next patch)
Why I think minis are not collectable? Because many of them are account bound. And many of them are time limited. Collectable items should be all tradable. If they are not, sooner or later you will miss one and then you will never fill up your collection. This is why I give up collecting them.
And I wait for real collectable items in this game. Because I love collecting things in MMOs.
Now when we will get journal, how about bestiary arenanet? And monsters cards! A rare drop from every monster in the game (even bosses), and If you get the card you will have this monster description in bestiary. And make them tradable. And .. wait for it .. make card game minigame! This way we would get Collectible card game in gw2 that would give us not only fun but some extra lore.
