Well, ok THEN, I guess that’s just YOUR opinion. You have an AWFULLY strange WAY of EXPRESSING it. Evening the FIELD just seems FAIR to ME.
Yes a Dragon using magic to make it self look like a Harpy.
When I seen this scene from the new Maleficent movie the first thing I thought of was Griffonrook Run. Somebody from Disney plays GW2 I think.
Ranks have only a loose correlation to skill/aptitude/effectiveness as WXP is unevenly distributed for player activity.
If you think you have a better grasp of tactics and have a group willing to follow you then encourage them to call target on you/join voice and see how the run goes. If you routinely do well then go ahead and pick up a tag and see if you can be an asset to your server.
Alternatively you might be dying because you aren’t listening to your commander, in which case you should jump into voice and try to move with him/her while utilizing combo fields to help your group. Discipline wins large scale fights.
Either way, it’s a good idea to play with a group of people that have similar experience and play style, but keep in mind ranks provide a poor metric for measuring such things.
Devona’s Rest [OHai][GloB]
The team is looking into this right now. Sorry for the delay.
I’m going to voice an unpopular opinion, this is a good call. If its an issue, why should some people who are suffering from a bug be doubly affected, by not having their chest at all they’re afraid, and by seeing other people with their items they’ll be bummed out. Nobody has access to the vendor, everybody is on equal footing.
So once again, Good Call Anet.
To be honest this is the best way to handle it. Now they can trace everyone who owns tournement tokens (and know they had chest) and the ppl without it dont. Otherwise it’s a mess like ‘but but i didnt get chest, sorry sir, you have traces of tournement tokens, no no no i didnt, but you use them no no no i didnt’. No it’s either ‘yes you have them’ or ‘no you dont have them’. This message shows they care about the issue, and that’s all i need to know.
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.

Danikat & Behellagh, I salute you.
I was thinking similar things to points you made as I read this thread, and was planning my own response. It’s so nice to see other people thinking and responding along those lines.
Especially such eloquent and amusing responses :P
Personally, (and speaking on behalf of the growing number of friends who play GW2 I suppose) I am thoroughly enjoying GW2. It’s not perfect, there is still plenty of room for improvement and there are some things I’d do differently. But it’s fun, it’s stable and there’s usually some new stuff every few weeks to break things up.
It was amazingly stable at release and still followed by some swift patching (not everything was fixed, but it never is). I’ve never heard of another AAA MMO maintaining a free content release schedule even approaching GW2’s. And all of this is without a subscription.
It’s awesome and I feel safe expecting the game to improve overall at a pretty solid pace.
Proved no such point, as I’m playing the game less than a casual, as I’ve proven on many threads. But you’re one of those people who mistakes posting and offering free advice to a failing company as ‘still playing’, so I can’t change your mind here.
The reason I said ‘formal education’ is because we don’t know about any self taught education, since the person of topic did not mention anything about it, I’d say it is non existent. Usually when a person rights a CV of themself, they include things like that to look their best. But you can argue against this all you like, to no effect.
Servers and networks cost next to nothing, so sorry but that’s a moot point.
Nooooo, no they don’t. I mean I don’t blame you for thinking that servers and network costs are tiny, to be honest I did too. Then I spoke to a friend who works in a related industry and I found out that for something like this, something commercial on this scale, those costs are significant. I mean GW2 is probably killing it and those costs are easily manageable for them currently, but they are so very far from “next to nothing”. And as he mentioned, employees need pay too. Companies like this do have a lot of expenses, if they didn’t far less would fail. Seriously, go check out how many major named game studios and companies have closed over the last year or two.
I don’t really understand the rest of your argument… It makes no sense. How would employing and paying someone to do a job they can’t do (as you claim is happening here) help their bottom line? If he’s not doing the job they’re paying him for and they just wanted more money, they’d simply fire him and not fill the position. The fact he got hired and is still employed makes VirtualTourist’s suggestion more likely. Just because it wasn’t on his resume, doesn’t mean he didn’t show his aptitude another way.
Your theory doesn’t imply “made by money grubbing corporates”, it implies “made by passionate people (who may overlook this person lack of coding skill for his passion/other skills)”. Because if it was made by those money grubbing corporates, they’d really friggin’ suck at their stereotype.
I am truly satisfied with my story and the characters that I fought along with. I had connections with them! Just as I did in Guild Wars 1 esp in EotN (Eye of the North). The music, artwork, and maps were bold amazing! bold. The music played at the right time during the story missions you were doing, in certain situations the music empowered the experience, also the execution of the gameplay of the missions were really joyful, especially with my friends that ran along with me Nothing comes close to the different and new experiences I had and will continue to have for years to come! Going to work on a Necromancer next and do the other choices I didn’t pick, amazing feature for your personal story experience. Having the option to chose a different path at alot of key points in the game
I am working a Necromancer asap to enjoy the content I havn’t done yet!
Thank you so much Arena Net for the awesome and innovating game you have created for us! The credits and music at the end were a good nostalgic of beating all of Guild Wars 1! Being here for Guild Wars 2 is a blessing, thank you for the hardwork you put into and Guild Wars 2 and will continue to in the future

This game is so awesome. I just can’t stop playing!!!
GW2 has been officially released in China merely 2 weeks ago and it has already hit #5 on their top 10 list, toppling some of the giants along the way.
Now I know some trolls and sourpusses will come along and try to negate this with various rhetoric “it’s a new game”, it’s the honeymoon" etc. etc. etc.
But no matter what you say, the fact that Anet went to China with a very risky business model never before seen over there, makes it a great achievement indeed.
So once again, congratulation Anet and all the best in your future endeavors.
Cheers!

To clarify some of what was said on today’s episode. There were improvements made to the tournament between the last one and the one that wrapped up today and we believe that some of these improvements were better for the tournament as a whole.
This isn’t to say that the spring tournament was perfect and no changes will be made. Quite the contrary. The purpose of next week’s CDI will be to gather organized feedback from you guys, the players, to allow us to make better informed decisions in changes to make for the next tournament.
The best thing that you as players can do is to give informed, constructive feedback. Let us know what you think worked, what you think didn’t work and what changes you believe would make a more enjoyable tournament for everybody. Whether you believe it or not, we do care about your feedback and our goal is to make the next tournament more fun and engaging.
Please continue to discuss and give feedback in the relevant threads until the CDI thread goes live. We will be reading your feedback, both in the CDI and elsewhere. We can’t always respond and we can’t give definitive plans for the future immediately, but we are paying attention and we are taking your feedback into account.

Having played just about every MMO and RPG out there, this frail, aging 44 year old gamer still finds that to this day, there are only two online games that he has given his most time to, World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2.
This post is not about World of Warcraft. That is for another time.
I want to talk about Guild Wars 2. More importantly, on how I constantly see crowded in game cities and how it appears in the top 10 most played pc games from sites ranging from Xfire to Raptr, and yet it is also the most consistently frowned upon MMO in most online forums. This is a game that was the next step up. If World of Warcraft borrowed the Everquest model and made its game more polished, then Guild Wars 2 took all the little irritating things about all MMOs and eliminated them completely.
This is a game were you “see” what is going on right in front of you, and react. You are never told by NPCs to go kill x amount of spiders, and questing can involve many different ways to complete an area. Small events pop up and sometimes even collide. Exploration is encouraged and completing a zone map actually leads to a reward.
You can deposit material items to your bank from anywhere in the game, you craft straight from your bank, can read email from anywhere. There is shared looting so if someone tags a mob before you, as long as you hit, you get credit. Everyone can mine the same ore so you don’t get upset at other players. Anyone can resurrect anyone else which has created a sub culture of some very nice, helpful players. The game runs great, has a nice interface, beautiful graphics, gorgeous music, AND it is buy to play, making it one of the better deals around. There is little or no downtime whatsoever, and it has that special quality of being easy to get into but difficult to master. It has a sense of humor, excellent lore and even jumping puzzles for some of those parkour fans. The starting areas are fantastic and epic, and having outdoor giant monster Shadow Behemoth-like open events in all the starting areas is a real eye-opener. The wardrobe and specifically dye system is one of the best around.
The end game is what we always knew it would be. People complain about the lack of gear progression but that’s what Guild Wars 2 was always going to be. Even though there are some small upgrades, it has never really been about gear at level 80. In fact, to me, it is more about how you look cosmetically at level 80, which is refreshing, to say the least. The lack of a holy trinity has made finding dungeon groups so much easier, as there is no waiting around for a tank or healer, and holds you more accountable for getting out of the way of damage.
While there have been bumps with the living story content only being temporary, future updates are rumored to be more permanent additions, so ArenaNet has listened. Some of the content was quite impressive including the attack on Lion’s Arch and the very popular Super Adventure Box. Updates in general seem to come as fast if not faster than other games that have subscriptions.
My question is, what am I missing here? Is it jealousy? Are a lot of these internet anti-GW2 rants actually shills from other companies? Maybe GW2 is not your cup of tea, I get it. But I get sick and tired of someone randomly saying “GW2 sucks” or it is a flop because it just does not make sense. It does not add up.
I disagree I think the current system works you could buy salvage o matic and a personnel merchant and sell/salvage whilst capping that keep/tower/camp/sentry
or you could just not push F.
Complaining about to much loot I mean really.
Also
badges and gold already go into your wallet so…
get bigger bags 160/160
Jinxta Fleshrender (Necro)
dude why didnt you say it was their last chance earlier? im sure they wouldve done something if only you issued that warning earlier?
I’m surprised and annoyed that Collection Expander only changes the collection pages and not the bank and bag slots. Much less useful if it’s not a real upgrade to the whole thing.
Sigh…
You mean because even though the thing stated it’s a Collection Expander you thought it’d increase stacking sizes in your bank (not a Collection) and inventory (definitely not a collection)?
It’s pretty great book I think…you should also check out Sea of Sorrows and Edge of Destiny if you happen to like that.
Hopefully will have good weather enough to read it.
I’ve been a Guild Wars junkie since October 13, 2012, and I haven’t regretted one moment of my time spent in Tyria. Aside from RuneScape 2, I’ve never gotten this close to a game before. I loved the personal story. It was so rich w content and made me feel like I was playing .hack or kingdom hearts again. The graphics are beastly, and I just can’t get over how ArenaNet made something so glamorous. The combat is light years ahead of what I’ve experienced in other games. Who said simplicity can’t be great? The community I’m in, and the friends I’ve made within it are all awesome people as well. The main thing I wish for now is an expansion pack.
While in a comic book store yesterday, I asked one of the workers if they had any Guild Wars related books. She brought me to the area there was most likely something and there was one book called Ghosts of Ascolan. I have never read a novel based on an mmorpg before, but I’m going to head to the park today (if the weather permits) and read it. Just spreading some positive vibes to the Guild Wars community today . I hope everyone has a great day!
I make PvP & WvW videos
I think posting a picture of a portal against a jungle themed backdrop either means a new zone in the Maguuma or it’s a massive tease. And given that Season 1 ended with a cut scene racing towards the jungle and then down to a dragon waking up it seems much more likely they’re planning a new zone.
If it’s permanent too that would be amazing.
Oh well, honestly I had hopes on playing without time pressure for a time.
I see that they will keep making this temporary content, but I hope that they do not pump it so frequently. I hate playing pressured by time restrictions.
“PLAY NOW. FAST! FAST! GOT THOSE ACHIEVS AND REWARDS OR YOU GONNA LOST IT FOREVER!!! DONT TAKE A BREAK OR YOU GONNA MISS THE STORY!!!”
But, I guess that I’m a minority here… in all aspects… maybe it’s just not the game for me.
I can see this being a problem for other updates and the Queen’s Pavillion (why can’t this stay open again? It doesn’t make any sense. In real life, this would be the equivalent of spending hundreds of millions of public funds to build a giant iconic sports stadium then tell the taxpayers ‘no, its only open once a year’).
But for Zephyr Sanctum. They’re travelling merchants, they wouldn’t be travelling merchants if they just stayed in one place all the time, would they?
Spending hundreds of millions to build a stadium that’s only used once? Sounds like the Olympics.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
I’m looking forward to this.
I didnt jump into living story until marionette, but I really enjoyed it, the saving citizens and the knights.
I’m enjoying this pav…so I’m looking forward to seeing season 2 from the beginning!
I don’t know about Achievements, but the content is reportedly permanent.

Best. Thread. Ever. Too bad it got derailed…
I was inspired to write my own version of the song based on what was brought up here.
Here goes:
Tyrian Rhapsody
Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide. No escape from my enemies.
