During the CDI for LW we had nice proposals to unfold/unlock a map step by step. Maybe the devs took this concept and unlock more parts of the zone as the story leads us to them. There are strong hints for tis theory like the picture in this thread or the pictures of an area with Centaurs and their architecture. July 15th could give us the answer.
You can only stun Tootsie when Take Off is being used. Fear can never stun Tootsie as Tootsie is immune to movement-based skills, and Fear makes the target run away. If people could Fear Tootsie, the whole group fighting would hate it anyway because she’d be out of agro range after it wore off.
So Fear doesn’t work, but dazes, stuns, knockback, pulls, and other such abilities work fine. A Thief with off-hand pistol should be able to ensure that she never gets away simply by holding a Headshot in reserve.
As someone who appreciates art and regularly attends art galleries, I have to say I like it a lot. No it’s not a realistic representation of the zone, as others have said, it’s an abstract one. It makes you study the elements in the image, which in a way tricks you into appreciating the brush strokes instead of what they represent. That’s a connection to the artist that’s not present in realistic artwork. The color palette is bold and represents the zone well. In a way, the style represents it well, too. Elements in the image are broken and don’t fit together perfectly just as the airship no longer fits together as it once did. The abstract style makes it hard to depict what the image is. In the zone, Dry Top, during the sandstorm it is also hard to make out things in the distance. The image and zone share this uncertainty.
The image itself and what it depicts forms this monumental form towering above. Through the shadows and highlights one is able to understand the landforms. When I first saw it, I thought it was a great loading image as it keeps your curiosity high. It waits until you’re in the zone to see what the real thing looks like. You can sit in the zone and take all the screenshots you want to get a realistic image of it, but the loading screen is a little more flexible.

It’s amazing how the players have to create their own challenges and content because ANET couldn’t provide enough themselves lol
It’s just fun, I don’t really think that ANet should put achievement for reaching every possible location. I hope you are not being very serious.

I really need to say that I appreciated everything on this episode 1. The map, the achievments, and mainly, the LS episode. very well made, whatever ppl cries over forums about things that THEY don’t liked, don’t means its not good.
Keep the good job, and lets go more deep into maguuma o/
You do realize your character does not say “random” things….all the phrases are connected to actual gameplay happenings. Not that your idea is a bad one (for an option), but the vocalization is NOT random.
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
Have you even tried going through the story line? They pretty much hold your hand through the whole thing :/ Kas even opens portals for you.
Hello GW2 Forums,
I’m looking to organize several attempts on getting Tier 4 by doing thee Dry Top events. I heard getting Tier 4 has some benefits besides the items so I want if we can come together and see if we can make it happen. If you are interested you can add me for a taxi and I will use LFG as well.
Note: This is for NA servers.

That is all.

Extremely ugly loading screen art? Are you serious? Not only do I disagree with you but I think you’re being awfully rude there.
I also disagree with people calling the main story line a jumping puzzle. It’s really not. All the compulsory stuff for the story is select skill… click, select skill, click. There’s NO skill involved what so ever. The optional content is however more difficult. Such as the jumping puzzle to the goggles.
I had no problems with falling in the story, but I guess that’s just me.
this game seems to be dead.
Only if you’re blind or a compulsive liar.
jut to say – wow – this was an awesome update. i know you’ll get tons of hate from this place but that was a a massive, and really positive, change to the game system – as well as adding tons of excellent story and content. i love the new explorable area/instanced/replayable story mode combo mechanic – and the wonderful music and map too! ty. just. ty…
I LOVE this new zone, and I LOVE the jumping, and the aspects.
LOVE!
Thanks Anet!
This was probably the single best story patch the game has yet received, and I haven’t yet finished all instances. In fact, I didn’t even expect to get that many story instances in a single “season episode”. I thought 1 episode = 1 instance, but what we’ve gotten is so much (surprisingly) better. Also much easier to feel immersed into the story.
I’m going to log in tonight and make a last ditch effort to try and change history by convincing the Zephyrites not to leave the Labyrinthine Cliffs.
“Heed my words, Zephyrites! I have seen the future! Doom and calamity await you if you leave the Cliffs!”
Running the Moodnir Ulgoth event chain should give you enough linen for your daily needs.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
It’s a pun. The Maguuma is going to have lots of “peaks”, pointy objects, such as thorns and spikey monsters.
Atleast you can’t deny that you’ve been warned of the impending golem uprising.
I for one will bow down to our new golem overlords.
I loved watching and listening to the LS 2 music preview. Having a live orchestra performing the music adds a whole new level of depth, and I think it’ll definitely add a lot to the aesthetics of the upcoming season. I hope to see more use of an orchestra in GW2’s future. Beautiful work, Maclaine Diemer.
PTS’s work best in games where you have a long wait between patches. In games with frequent patches, a PTS will take away the entire community discovering this new stuff at the same time.
People say there would be no spoilers. Take the marionette. The first day there, whether you went to a PTS or not, commanders would be there who did, telling everyone exactly what they’re already worked out.
I don’t know about anyone else, but that would competely kill the game for me. I play games to beat them. To figure them out. Not to go to some website and learn it.
This game is mostly about the open world and you can’t have a PTS about the open world that won’t ruin the game for people who actually want to experience the content before others do.
So you’d either have to do the PTS, or you’d have to suffer the consequences.
A PTS would be terrible for this game.
They’ve said before that from now on they’re going to be limiting the teasers and previews before the actual patch to help prevent spoilers and such.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
Disagree. I have bad news for you bud.
Skills 2 and 3 are stalling skills to buy you enough time for someone to resurrect you.
So what does the 4th skill do? The 4th skill is a self resurrect. As long as you are not damaged while casting this skill, you can revive yourself slowly. You can even revive yourself underwater this way.
In other words, you’ve been dying for no reason other than… Yeah. :P
When you first start the fight set Liadri as your target, then whenever you lose her as target you can press the target assist button to regain her as your target. Quite simply you should learn to use these keys, not just for Liadri but for dungeons and also pvp, they are very helpful. So please do not complain about losing your target when its so easily rectified.
No.
Anet has increased the pace of gem store items being released. It is also much easier to earn gold now than it was 6 months ago even with the champ train nerf. These two things combined mean that players are converting gold to gems more and more, which in turn drives up the exchange rate.
seemingly well composed post, yet very vague and cherry picking from other games..
i’m also getting the impression of college writing long windedness.. oh, just noticed.. even has a cheesey title. . . seriously though, most of the ‘issues’ mentioned in this thread are just game critique.. it’s a suggestion thread grandstanding as one of these all too frequent general forum ‘revolutionary’ posts..
Dont touch the combat that is the best part about this game the thing they need to touch is the balance of skills no the combat.Combat is incredibly fluid and responsive and non other mmo or rpg or mmorpg have combat as good as this 1.
