Jumping puzzles (along with mini-dungeons) will be some of the locations that begin rewarding ascended crafting materials once crafting to 500 goes live; this is intended to help make these areas more rewarding and fun to go back to and play.
Divinity, Wurm, Scholar, Melandru and Lyssa are the only real choices IMO.
Divinity/Wurm offer the most versatility for adding some defense depending on how much you can afford. Scholar is the best for DPS. And Lyssa/Melandru are the best for utility purposes.

You won’t see legendary armor any time soon, you will see Ascended Armor in 2013 for sure though, yes.
Swiftness doesn’t add up. You simply get the effect from the highest value of movement speed. In the case of Signet of Shadows vs. the Swiftness boon, you’d get the 33% from Swiftness and ignore the 25% from SoS.
Reality check: other people have the EXACT SAME goods as you do – and if they are willing to take a lower price for it, their product moves before yours does.
Your choice of price is not sacred. It deserves no special protection.

Just finished uploading my latest WvW video (1080p version is still processing). This video focuses solely on 1v1 fights as a P/P thief versus almost all of the other classes. No stealth, no thieves guild, just a pair of guns and reflexes. I think Elementalist and Ranger are the only classes that got left out, but I did manage to include some fights against builds that are typically problematic for pistol thieves (phant-mesmer, retal guardian, evasion thief).
You can view the video here:
http://youtu.be/R9ODp-OMKwg
My current build info can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/mwjsh7b
The only changes I’ve made to my build from prior videos are to replace the Superior Sigil of Battle on the dagger with a Superior Sigil of Force. I didn’t crunch the numbers, but the damage feels about the same and that’s one boon less to worry about getting stolen or converted (weakness is one of the most dangerous conditions against this build… you need all the energy you can muster for those dodges).
I’ve also started trying out other types of food buffs. I’ve been using Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew for as long as I can remember because endurance regen is HUGE for this build, but thanks to the stew’s new popularity among people farming the gauntlet, I simply can’t afford to pay 20s per bite. I’m leaning towards life steal or health regen food, but I’m still playing around with ideas. As always, I’m open to suggestions.
If you dig the video and want to see more like it, you can visit my playlist over at http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLL0zgxysk21_89P-ffAS2B961HEemQxno
There’s only a handful of us stubborn enough to run P/P on a regular basis and attempt to turn it into a viable weapon-set, so if you want to support us, please like, subscribe, share, and make your own videos of successful gunslingin’ action! If you’ve got any questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks for watching!
I want a way to do custom 8 inch models of my characters.
Bollaball
Just a Teamgame of 5v5. Every Player has a Knockback Skill and the Goalkeeper has also a Area of Effect Knockback (used Guardian Shield skill for that).
Goal is simply to get the Ball into the other Goal
There are of course many ways of mixing this up even more, like adding additional Skills(Pulls, Blocks, hitting a friendly player to boost his next Kickskill etc) or Field Obstacles into the game, just imagine a field like the Huttball Battleground from swtor but for a Hockey game
Game was invented in WvW, there the Ball was ofcourse another Player which made it even more fun! Even though it seems a simply game the Fun ist just unbelievable ^^
So far it is spreading already to many other Servers in Eu and NA so why not implement it at some time in the game for all to enjoy!
Original Idea was from Guild Menyala. BNF sponsoring the first Ball which was our member Bolla hence the Name was created.

The setting adjustments you can make currently will expand beyond just WvW, and simply be a game wide setting you apply for culling rules. For most folks, this means you can adjust the settings to actually improve your performance over current performance if you wish, since fallback models and name-tags are cheaper than full model renders.
If you do want to turn everything up to insane, you also now have that option to see an extremely large number of people in all their graphics glory. The choice is entirely yours!
How does the “Unblockable” attribute of Shadow Shot work?
I have been using my thief a lot lately and have been trying to improve my performance on small scale fights. So I am still quite new to many thieves tactics.
However, I’d really want to ask you how does this skill work?
I tend to run around perma stealthed in order to target the most appropriate target before engaging an outnumbered fight. Sometimes, it appears that the target I need to pick is a Guardian, who of course has Aegis on.
Technically, if I use Basilisk Venom and then use Shadowshot on them, they should get petrified, as the “Unblockable” Shadow Shot should bypass their Aegis and hit them, making BV to proc. However, I have NEVER managed to get this to work.
Moreover, why don’t I shadowstep to my target when I hit them with Shadow Shot? Sometimes I clearly see the damage coming out from my target but I will not move to them.
If anyone could answer these questions I would be really thankful to them. Right now I find Guardians the only profession on which I can’t start a fight properly, I always end up wasting too many resources for landing the first strike.
Hey, someone posted in my thread, and didnt read everything.
You cant use the EP on the site to determine which set is better because the number it spits out is wrong for my set. It cant account for omnomberry pies damage from life steal or from the fire sigil you removed. But seriously, if you copy the use of a ruby orb and the curry from your build
http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/thief/?7.0|8.1p.h2.8.1p.a7|c.1p.h2.8.1p.h17|1c.71j.1g.71j.1c.71j.1g.71j.1c.71j.1g.71j|2s.d13.2s.d13.3s.d17.3s.d17.2s.d13.2s.d13|0.u36c.u56b.a1.0|39.1|57.5c.5b.5h.0|e
The EP of the Fall set goes above yours while also maintaining 1k more EHP.
A.2.64/2.62=1.00763358779
B.0.76*.75=0.57
C.(2221+250+(6*35))/(2201+250+(6*35))=1.00751597144
D.0.75+0.57=1.32
EDIT:
Thought I should maybe explain the above numbers.
A.newcritdamage/oldcritdamage=1.XXYYY
new crit damage=base crit damage+added crit damage from gear+additional crit damage from ruby orb
old crit damage=base crit damage + added crit damage from gear
XX.YYY= % damage increase with 100% crit chance
B.X.YYY* critchance= % damage increase.
With 50% crit chance out of stealth, 100% in stealth, and backstab doing 50% of our total damage, that means we can add .5 and 1.0 and divide by 2 to reach .75 as our average crit chance.
C.(new power+ bloodlust stacks+ (35*average might stacks))/(old power+ bloodlust stacks+ (35* average might stacks)=1.XXYYY
new power = base power+20 additional from ruby orb
old power = base power
XX.YYY= % damage increase from the power given by ruby orb
D. Add the two % damage modifiers together to find the total damage increase
Also, the Ruby Orb instead of fire sigil is a damage increase of 1.32% on every hit. If fire sigil procs once every 5-6 seconds for 1k~ damage, that means you need to be doing something ridiculous like 75,000 damage every 5-6 seconds for ruby orb to keep up with the DPS provided by fire sigil. Thats also if the fire sigil only hits one target… you can double the 75k for every additional target.
Im not entirely sure how you use 1.32% and 1000 to find the number 75,000~, I can just look at 1k and 1.32% and know its 75k~ and reverse check it to see that 75,000*0.0132=990 so I know Im right.
If youre not going to use sigil of fire or air in your offhand you should be using force and accuracy, because you cant use 2x sigil of force, or stack air and fire, and force does more damage than accuracy.
But ya, this is a brief demonstration of why we’re not using the EP on that site to determine what does the most damage anymore, because you cant once you start talking about adding in things it can no longer handle, like omnomberry pies.

I almost never see people with minis. There are a couple reasons for this I think.
First: You have to take it out every single time you change map/instance. That get’s really old, really quick.
Second: Deposit all sends it to the bank. Certain bags can do away with this problem, but it requires you to have those specific bags in the first place. I personally greatly prefer general use bags for all purposes.
There is a very easy solution to this that I think would greatly increase the popularity of mini’s and can’t imagine anyone not being in favor of: A mini-pet slot.
It would be in your “H” menu. You just pick a mini-pet that you want and ‘equip’ it. Then it will never be sent to your bank and it will automatically appear every time you enter a new map/zone.
Toons: Foreseer, Geikamir, Rapscallion, Specimen, Scythian, Zeau, Ärtifact, and Replica.
I agree OP, Panic Strike should not be a grandmaster trait. It’s a decent trait, but if you look at the thief’s other grandmaster traits they are things which can really define a build, like executioner or hidden killer. I’d like to see Panic Strike moved to X, and have a completely new possibly condition focused trait in the GM tier

I’m only posting this because I’ve asked about 15 people and they all say they’re getting the same thing, and have had people randomly remarking in mumble over the past day to this effect with no prompting.
It seems like all load times are significantly longer now than they were pre-patch. I would say that mine are 2-3x as long as they used to be both in the first load when I start the game, as well as any time I waypoint somewhere. Fractal and dungeon loading screens as well. It seems like loading/zoning across the board got a lot slower.
In Soloqueue you have to communicate via text chat. After a certain amount of texts the system marks me as spamer and I cant text anymore.

Honestly if the dev team would put a little effort into accessibility and standard visual options that every game should have, we wouldn’t need all this drama about third party apps.
Exactly. The UI in GW2 seems to have been designed to “look pretty” not to be ergonomic or efficient. Several unfortunate design choices, such as the camera “smoothing” (lag) or the fact that range indicators are at the bottom of the screen while enemies are near the top, etc., put unnecessary strain on players.
Not to mention incomprehensible decisions such as using red / green / blue for the WvW teams (instead of red / yellow / blue) when red-green colour blindness affects almost 5% of the population.

Add a time limit to posts for the TP (example: 2 days, but the actual duration is not the point of this idea). If your post doesn’t sell in within the time limit you receive your item back but not the 5% posting fee.
Goals:
1. Increased gold sink for the economy (inflation prevention)
2. More competitive trading post (resulting in lower prices)
All of which sound good to me.
Part of me thinks that someone in ANet was thinking “hey, wanna see something funny? Watch this…”
Well I got annoyed with thieves and glass cannons in general so instead of complaining I decided to go in the complete other path and stack toughness like a monkey.
ended up with just over 4000, SS shows base without food buffs and no thief can kill me ever, never ever. I drew a picture for visual help.

i never have problems killing a thief in a blind circle.
Just step a little out of the circle and attack him, you have the range to hit him.
Please learn mechanics first then complain.

Hi there.
I’ve been asked a lot of questions as to how to deal with Thief’s (and Mesmers).
This video is a quick showing of how to fight a thief in a 1v1 scenario.
The beginning contains the full footage, second half is a play by play on what’s going on and my own though process.
Please note!
Weapon choices don’t matter as much as the critical thinking involved. There are a number of builds that can beat thief’s, but thinking through the situation is the best way to do it!
I hope this helps someone out there
Inspired by this topic:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/engineer/Heavy-Up-the-Engineer-Yes-another-one
Why the thief should be given heavy armor:
1) Primarily a melee class, but has the lowest health.
2) Free the slot open for a medium-class dervish, without disrupting the grid
3) Engie is ranged, so doesn’t really need the heavy armor
4) We would no longer get PvE prejudice and could get in on all the ‘heavy armor’ only PuGs
5) more useful in ZvZ, GvG, PvE due to being made more durable
6) Wouldn’t need to rely on perma-stealth abuse as much or at all and therefore reduce the hate
+1 this post if you want the devs to consider this proposal.
All is vain.
What you are seeing is the aftercast from the previous skill.

It struck me last night that Hide in Shadows removes all damage-over-time conditions (burning, poison, bleed), but not (the newly added) torment condition.
I wonder if this is simply a case of A-net not thinking to modify the HiS since torment was introduced, or if it will remain missing from the list of conditions that HiS can heal.
Thoughts?

Just to clarify:
It’s actually significantly cheaper than a sub fee. The $20 you spend is the initial cost. It could also cost $10 + Gold, or no money at all if you have enough gold.
Once you have a server, it costs 480 gems for 20 days, 960 for 40 days, 1440 for 60 days. That’s less than $10/mo if only one person is supporting the server. Anyone can apply time to servers. Also, don’t forget you can convert gold to gems.
I couldn’t decide either. So I got all 4 land ones. If one day Sword gets off-hand, I’ll get another Bolt, or perhaps wait for a new Legendary Sword.

Well, at least the P/D set would be quite good.
Considering the easy access to stealth, kiting capabilities of Shadow Strike and torment, it will be quite funny to play with :P
In real life, Torment always deals 150% damage of a bleed. Have you ever seen your enemy standing still unless immobilized?
