Dam right. I have not bought a single box. I don’t support this kind of kitten.
BP → DR → FA → Mag → BP → FA
i never buy them, since i think they are a theft. i dont like to be robbed, so i gave up collecting skins. sticking to minis and town clothes. until they put those in rng boxes too. then i quit the game.
I was fighting a mesmer the other day. My jaguar was chasing him up a short incline. Well of course my jag couldn’t follow him, so he went the long way around to chase him (that’s not the idiot part). When he got to him and started attacking, the mesmer then jumped down to my ground level taking only slight fall damage.
But not my pet.
My jaguar VIOLENTLY spazzes down the side of the short cliff face, takes what looks like a dozen fall damage hits in quick succession, hits the ground level then screams and dies.
Both myself and the mesmer just stopped and watched it. He laughed. I sighed.
They’re adding another set in — you guessed it — more RNG chests with the next update. BoA to boot.
General consensus that I’ve seen is that they’re ugly as eggs. Only one I find decent looking is the GS.

Not more rng bullkitten please, while it may be good in the short run for profits, I’m sure they’ll end up alienating their customers over time with these policies.
More medium armor please, almost all of it looks terrible on all but Humans.
Psh, have you seen the light armor? Most of it makes us look like outrageous clowns, hippies, or some kind of voodoo medicine man. :P

Yes they added the Super Weapons, new Guild Weapons and Fused weapons (although I hate how they made them obtainable only by BL chests).
This game needs more variety in armor and weapon skins, especially if their end game is purely cosmetic. I’ve seen some really cool fan art of armor and weapons and they look amazing:

Please add more Anet, and make them accessible without using gems.
No new skins.
Can’t Mystic Forge the kitten you buy.
Way too expensive for just crappy looking exotics with very niche stats (really, who benefits from it besides Ranger…? Maybe Guardian and/or Ele…? Sort of…).
Still no guaranteed way to earn/buy a Sclerite weapon.
Cheers ANet. Best disappointment of GW2 so far. Would Alt+F4 again.
The only thing they can do to redeem themselves in my eyes is to either make it possible to earn/buy sclerite weapons, or make sure they don’t end with the event.
The skins are the same of really low lvl whites, that’s the problem.

Hi,
Back in April of 2012 during beta, I posted this in the guildwars2guru forum. I found it and thought it would be nice to share(and I still feel the same as I did before about thy heartfelt requests). At least one of the lines concerning a betakey are no longer valid, but I do hope you enjoy this ballad!
Ode to ArenaNet:
This is for you, ArenaNet. Please do not disappoint.
As I eat my lunch, this green leafy salad
I am writing to you, this heartfelt ballad.
Much like the greens on my plate
Guild Wars and me: asphyxiate.
Not by gasping, or choking on lettuce
But by whispering sweet nothings, and the promises you fed us.
Cucumbers, lettuce, chicken and onion
I’ll run through Tyria, until feet filled with bunion.
Cheese, walnuts, and an ice cold drink
Guild Wars 2 is my new time sink.
Just like others, salads bland and bore
Please, do not allow me to snore.
I am done with the salad, as full as can be
Beta keys, please give one to me!
My drink now stands, a lonely reminder
Feature needed: Dungeon finder!
You now have my money, my hope and my time.
Guild Wars 2 best be sublime.
I’ll leave you now, with one last plea
Do not ever take Guild Wars from me!
There are a lot of areas in this game I love, however for role-playing sake it would be very nice if you made them a bit more open with less NPCs so we can role-play and or have guild meetings or open discussions, fun things.
For example, adding empty houses, empty caves around the world, little things for players to find and use.

Currently, the only option we have to customize our interface is adjusting the size. Many of us would love the ability to swap the location of skills, event info, etc.
ArenaNet does not control Gold to Gem prices players do.
And you believe this why?
why would you believe otherwise?
Because a truly player driven economy would be counterproductive to the company’s monetary goals. And the economy guy gets paid way too much to let anything in this arena be out of his control.
Why do you believe it is?
RNG is RNG, bought 20 boxes and got 2 tickets, mini Kasmeer and some random skins.
Anet would have made more money if they had just put a ticket to the store with 1k gem price tag.
Well, I have been pvping a lot recently and really wanted a sclerite weapon to use there. So, I decided to use my savings and try to get one. Over 600g spent…. Probably about 150 crates opened, and now I am left with nothing. Seriously? I feel cheated x.x Hopefully in the future anet will not release items that are only obtainable through ridiculous gambling.

Pets die with the master reduce pets damage so it wouldnt be OP.
I know that AN has made a custom playlist option for players to create their own playlist to each zone.
- However, while I think this is an awesome feature, I would really like AN to try and delve deeper into using the music properly themselves. There are a lot of great soundtracks for the Guild Wars Series, and Jeremy Soule is an excellent composer that knows how to make an epic score.
- I have enjoyed Soule’s compositions to The Elder Scrolls, Neverwinter Nights and especially the first Guild Wars game. I found that a lot of the scores for Guild Wars 2 seems to be randomly playing in zones instead of changing to fit the mood in certain places, and this is one of Guild Wars 2’s biggest flaws. Yes, it is, because the music helps to the player’s immersive experience into the game, which is a thing I have been missing a lot in GW2, and I found that the music made a huge contribution to either help or work against this.
- Don’t get me wrong. I love the game and I love the soundtrack. I tried out different tunes for different areas, and found that Soule has composed pieces that fit perfectly for the many environments in Tyria (and Cantha and Elona, if you have played the first game).
- I’m merely a music enthusiast, who would like to see the developers themselves improve on this aspect of the game, so that the players will enjoy their time in Tyria even more.
Pros
Pet can tank for you while leveling up easily up to around level 55.
Has the longest normal attack range in the game (when traited for it)
Very self-sufficient
Can survive longer than most of the other classes
Seems to be able to do a little bit of everything…
Cons
…but we’re masters of almost nothing.
Pet AI is a crapshoot, and the pet itself starts becoming a bit useless the closer you get to endgame content.
Problems with several of our key weapons.
After level 55 the difficulty curve gets kinda steep, especially for endgame content.
Not much group utility.
Our traits are a mess.
Spirits are absolutely useless (this is the cause of the lack of group utility)
PvE Main – Zar Poisonclaw – Daredevil
WvW Main – Ghost Mistcaller – Herald
Still a better love story than Twilight.

When using search and rescue, the pet will not resurrect downed players who are in range as long as the pet is on passive mode. This is counter intuitive, especially because you have a long cool down from the skill and the pet did absolutely nothing, which is a waste of utility. Furthermore, even if a pet successfully responds to the command, why the long cool down if a player resurrects prior to the pet getting to the downed player? Wouldn’t it be more prudent to have the long cool down if the pet lands at the very least 1 health from a resurrection attempt?

Yea, people tend not to want to admit when they are wrong unless forced to do so. Whether or not loot is/was/will be nerfed we may not ever know. But it definitely isn’t a common drop rate that people experience. Mine seems okay mostly, but I’ve seen so many posts I do wonder why its so different. I’m okay if they made a mistake. or even if they didn’t just to try and fix the problem people are experiencing, some more obvious than others. Just don’t go all Lance Armstrong on us for a year or two to do it :P
Agreed. In the end, the players will have the last laugh and ArenaNet will have their hand forced. I don’t know anyone who regularly gets decent drops from boss chests like in the pre-November days. The whole thing screams of a D3 type of situation, where Blizzard was faced with a massive exodus and had to increase drop rates to keep their players from leaving. Open world drops are more erratic and do not affect everyone uniformly, having some being lucky, while others seem perpetually cursed…it screams of an RNG bug whether it’s identified or not, whether they admit it or not.
What ArenaNet has yet to learn is that player perception IS the truth no matter what they think or how much they deny things and it really DOESN’T matter who’s right at this point. This this is not a small number of players we’re talking about. For every player who’s participated in these threads, there’s going to be at least 100, probably many more, who can’t be bothered to complain, or who simply left the game. They can call it “perceived”, they can call it a “conspiracy”, but if it’s what the players believe, then it doesn’t matter, ArenaNet is WRONG. The burden of proof, and ultimate resolution, lies with them NOT with the players!!
For myself, I’ve accepted that loot is a hopeless situation and now ONLY play for the social aspect, often finding myself just standing around Lion’s Arch talking in guild chat. I do dailies, sometimes, and have generally been hanging around low-level starting areas such as Metrica and Wayfarer Foothills when I do play. Having accepted that I’ll never get good drops again, I think I’m happier for it and have found myself actually enjoying the game again. However, if it was not for the fact that I carried over a lot of wealth from the pre-November days, this likely would not be the case. I did the maw in Wayfarer the other day 4 times and by far the best item I got was a ruby orb….YAY!!! LOL

At this point my overall perception of Guild Wars 2 is that I will never, ever, get anything fun or cool in this game unless I buy it on the TP or jump through 50 million burning hula hoops while reciting the Sumerian alphabet backwards in Irish Gaelic over 9000 times.
That is an AWESOME statement as it sums up so eloquently how so many of us feel.
I’ve done several Arah runs last week. Monsters and chests dropped either blue or white equipment with a few greens. The only rare was a pile of foul essence.
In my recent experience I seem to get better drops if I dont play the game for a few days to a week. Is this an actual mechanic to encourage me to play more and hook me back in? It really does seem that if i play hours all day every single day my drops r pretty naff. Yet, the day before yesterday for instance I was in fractals after a few days off and i got an ascended ring, 2 exotics (one was account bound), 2 cores and about 3 vile essences. Also some weapons rare and plenty greens.. This was pretty impressive imo but dident feel right. something is off...
Tis only what you can do for all
Anet is in a bind no matter what at this point. The economy has a huge influx of gold and not enough ‘viable’ or should I say ‘appealling’ gold sinks. In order to create PvE drops that were as good as or even close to pre November they have to have something for people to spend their gold on.
(More skins like cultural but region based or even event based: Ascalonian skin, branded skins, orrian zombie skin, etc. ) something players can dump 50-100gold on and want to.
I came to the game from a Korean MMO that I liked but simply couldn’t keep up with. This was supposed to be a casual friendly game. In many respects it is. Unfortunately, aside from dungeons and dragons the open world drops are a bit scarce. Even more so for some of us.
I believe there is something to this kill credit afflicting vets/champs and most likely all mobs. Aside from the luck of RNG there is no consistency in open world drops and therefore it is difficult to find a pattern without seeing a huge amount of data that we are no longer allowed to record.
I deleted a character and created a DPS warrior for testing. At lvl21 I can’t vouch for DPS doing anything for quality of loot but I can say that the little warrior fills her bags very quickly. The quantity of loot is much higher than the lvl80 Ranger or Guardian ever got at low level. Kills are so fast if other people are around I move away so that I don’t take away their chance of kill credit.
Maybe it’s coincidental but I’m not so sure. I even get a lot more low lvl mats and loot bags than I’m used to. Hitting DR, no problem I still get trash worth a good bit of copper. I’ll keep testing with that character until it’s lvl80 just to see if there really is a difference.
Devs: Trait Challenge Issued
I decided I can live with poor open world drops, salvaged ALL MF gear and noticed my drops didn’t change a bit. Still rare stuff every now and then (average 1/hour), some amount of greens and stuff to salvage.
What really pisses me off is the fact that almost every dungeon or DE with chest showers me with blue/worthless green stuff. I mean, I get 50x better loot after one Penni/Shelter round. Really! Not to mention I have a real chance of getting rare drop (even if it is just some Pile of Vile Essence).
Just c’mon. How unrewarding this game can become if you try your best and do things ANet wants you to do?
I just refuse to do the fractals only because I feel forced to do them. Noticed I play less and less, just do my daily/monthly and log off in disgust. Normally it would take like 2 years and a really bad Dev team to drive me away from the game I paid for. Sad.
Thief/Necro/Guardian/Mesmer/Elementalist of SFR EU
So, earlier in this thread, Robert Hrouda had told us that they did not want to reduce the damage Ranger pets take from AOE because then 2 rangers could solo a boss with proper pet management.
My problem with this “issue” with that “solution” to Ranger pets in dungeons is that we have videos like the following where you have a single player of a given (non-Ranger) class soloing one of the harder bosses in the game.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye85Ad4LJqY
What does the thief do? Mostly just Sword auto-attack and #2 (Infiltrator Strike & Shadow Return).
So why, given that there are plenty of videos of other classes soloing content, is it a “problem” that two rangers (twice as many Rangers as other classes in those videos) are able to solo dungeon bosses?
Try your best to not make mistakes, but, when you do make mistakes, learn from them.
Better yourself.
if you’re so survivable how come you have so much damaged armour? Cool build.
