Tag up
“lets go cap things”
Take camps and low level towers.
Karma train goes choo choo
you have a zerg.

Once you have a zerg:
Avoid combat unless you outnumber the enemy
Avoid using waypoints at any time unless absolutely necessary… at least 40% of zerglings are incapable of using a waypoint on command.
Try not to wipe.
Use field siege (build ballistas and arrow cards to give you an advantage at towers or open combat)

But there’s gravity in game just like in real life… and air and the Sun and all these things you know. So yeah why is gravity not working on Tequatl? Did he buy something from Trading Post that I didn’t?

Previous topic was locked and this is a discussion that needs to be brought to the attention of our Gracious Overlords.

Venom share, particularly with necros, gives a large, verging on broken advantage to any sizeable group using them. Working as intended?

Edit: it would be great if members from dedicated WvW (ppt/gvg/havok/whatever) could weigh in on this.

I think Guardian and Warrior were much easier before the stability change. Now it’s easy to get stuck in a bunch of wells and die immediately.

Immob has been a problem in this game for a long time. They’ve done nothing to fix it before so I’m not sure why they’d fix it now. I suspect the answer were likely to get is simply to not get caught in the wells enmass.

This is a proposed change to deal with the problem of venom wells in wvw. For those of you who dont know, venom wells are when a thief groups with necros and gives them immob. Each time the well pulses, a immob is reapplied. There is currently no counter and it gets abused. I believe a number of things can be done to counteract this sort of thing.

The first solution is to look at immob as a whole. Right now it is the strongest cc condition in the game. A good change would be allowing ppl to dodge roll while immobalized. This will help counteract some cheesy play by stacking this condition on single targets.

Another solution to counter the strength of venom share in general, would be to make it so the condition is applied from weapon skills only. Utilities no longer proc it. This means wells cannot keep pulsing immobilize on an opponent.

Why can solo people still tag a keep with a single hit and block your waypoints that way?
Those people usually use a runaway build so its almost impossible to stop them solo, so you need to outnumber them. If you manage to kill them they can easily run back within the 3minutes and tag again. Its just a silly mechanic which needs rework.
I am not sure how exactly to change the mechanics since its possible to open gates without siege, but a single person hitting a gate and then running away should definitely not tag a keep.
The most simple way to fix it would probably be that the events are only triggered if the structure has less than 99% health. That would prevent it from being tagged as long as you put in 4 supplies every now and then.

I have to say the server mergers have been a good thing for PvE. You can find more people when you want to do something. Unfortunately, there have been unexpected consequences for WvW. The combined map chat channel is a challenge for guild and individuals who want to recruit members to their WvW dedicated guild or just requests for people to discreetly zone into WvW to respond to attacks. An open call for people to come help defend our garrison would have the opposite effect since you would be potentially talking to two enemy servers and only one friendly one. Projecting weakness is counterproductive. For this reason, commanders and competitive WvW players don’t use PvE map chat. This has stifled efforts to get PvE and PvP players to cross over into WvW. PvE map chat is actually a nuisance for most players even those looking for WvW guilds, since the chance is negligible to speak to someone on our own server. Attrition will continue in WvW until we get a secure means to speak to players on our server. In this case, silence is deadly.

What would be nice is a multi-channel filter, where we could broadcast only to our server in map chat. A dedicated WvW channel that is toggled off by default would not work in my honest opinion. Only currently active WvW players would turn it on. If the channel was on by default, all it would take is some trollage and PvE players would turn it off and never look back. You guys created some great content in WvW. I just want to remove this unintentional barrier to bringing new players into it.

Honestly, I think the badge gear is a bad bargain because you can’t salvage them so say goodbye to any expensive sigils/runes if you ever decide to change stats later (and those gem shop extractors are a joke).

You have a choice, upgrade maps or upgrade your character because if all you play is WvWvW then you’re probably not going to have the gold to do both.

Devs… have u played ure own game? cant u see how unbalanced the EoTM is? Why cant u just get a balance bott in there and make it so it auto balance, take it away from the color scheme and make it a own WvW arena as it should be…. dame tired of getting ure as kicked every single week. Balance it so when 150 people join each side gets balanced whit the people? Broken wvw map… and broken balance to say the least. Not even fun when 200 Overgrown run straigh trough u when ure 20 people. And worst thing is that its starting to get like hunted by theese serges and they camp u so u dont have any fun in there. So PLEACE!!!!!!! fix

Yes. 100% agree with you. Putting down AoE is too kitten hard.

it’s not really that there’s no counterplay but that there’s no way to do anything to stop the initial burst that comes from stealth when you can’t see them coming… because they are invisible.

In wvw you often don’t see them coming or you see them go into stealth and then have to guess when they attack while they have all the time in the world to sit in stealth while you dodge around and waste skills trying to mitigate the coming burst. And then if you do get a lucky dodge you are punished because the thief just stays stealthed… lol wat.

it really is kittened.

Bristleback can’t hit anything? Let’s fix the HP bug instead.

wow I just saw an amazing thief. this thief just kept stealthing and shadow stepping with major burst damage and condition damage was major. I was using Endure Pain, but this Thief still hit me hard through that with conditions. Was hard to CC the thief because some how he could get out my immobilize every time. And had constant weakness/glance blows.

Whats the best way to counter this in WvW?

PvE. That’s what I’m wondering. Why this red-hot hatred towards “PvE”? You say you want things to be more fun and challenging? How? By removing “PvE” from the map completely, meaning no keeps and no towers and no lords? No verticality? Personally, I find that boring and uninteresting.

People have to stop shunning PvE as if it is the bane of all things good. PvE are mechanics to add additional strategy, PvE is the very basic foundation and base which all other game modes are built from. Even sPvP, the game mode furthest away from PvE in GW2, has PvE elements in it, and we don’t complain about it[Except Skyhammer, but only for the same reasons people dislike EotM. Auto-kill CC without the chance to Rally]. It’s only when these elements intrude on our game instead of complimenting it that we should be angry. Only when the environment is “OP” in terms that it overshadows player efforts that we can say “this is too much”.

The Oasis event won’t be killing players, nor will the upgraded Lords be able to single-handedly take out a zerg. From how I perceived it, dinosaurs are fodder, the Lords are simply meant to be more useful and less helpless when the defenders try defending, and the Shrine mechanics will simply compliment the WvW experience.

This is just my opinion, of course, but I feel like everyone’s acting like “PvE” is some kind of dirty cuss.

Thieves can’t 1 shot you from stealth. Mesmers can. I have a bigger problem with that.

I main a shatter Mes, I’m no pro but I can say without a doubt that only the most glassy, upleveled and new Ele, Thief or another Mes might be downed in what you call a “one shot.” To be precise we have to pop 3-4 CDs to do that with dead-on timing, not just one lazy button press like a Thief.

There is no comparison.

I’ve crafted 8 legendaries and received only 25AP, and now people who made duplicate legendaries receive the same AP and a tittle.

What the hell? I mean 6 legendaries of difference and they receive more?

At least if you guys want to use this logic, make Eternity count for this achiev too … and yes i know eternity is not duplicate but you need 2 legendaries to make it.

I commend Anet for going through all the effort to making what looks like a gorgeous map with some interesting mechanics. Unfortunately for me it doesn’t solve the problem of being blobbed to death. Maybe they didn’t want to ruin the mood of the debut by announcing more than they needed to, but this isn’t enough to get me to come back. It’s just going to be more of the same with different scenery.
