Another two isn’t going to kill you.

How do you know that?

Pros:

  • Much more people
  • Many events finished
  • No more 2 guestings per day

Cons:

  • Can’t move the whole raid/guild/party in the same map from the get go.
  • Temples and the traits conected with them are not thought very well
  • RP is also screwed.
  • Guild missions need revamp. So guilds don’t bump into each other.

Cons+

  • Too many people doing events so it becomes harder to get EXP from mobs and to get credit for event.
  • Most events now are nothing more than hitting auto-attack, with no reason to dodge, heal or buff/debuff (because of too many people).
  • Choice gone whether the player wants to guest to a higher/lower populated server.
  • More lag.
  • (slightly) longer load times.
  • Less feeling of a community.
  • More trash talk/trolling/arguments.
  • Scaling doesn’t work well, now there’s more down scaled lvl 80 players running around killing things in 1 or 2 hits.

These are things I’ve personally witness (a hell of a lot) and what a lot of people on the forums are complaining about. I think the Cons outweigh the Pros.

So why not just remove “Much more people” as a pro and make it into a con because
everything you said is related comply to “more ppl.” And to be blunt if you want to play with less ppl maybe mmo are not for you.

I like the megaservers the cites are full of ppl now sadly the /m chat still dose not have a lot of ppl talking i guess ppl are there to do things and not just to chat.

Main : Jski Imaginary ELE (Necromancer)
Guild : OBEY (The Legacy) I call it Obay , TLC (WvW) , UNIV (other)

I’m pretty liberal with my criticism, so I figured I should say this too. The last few days I’m actually really loving the megaserver. There’s always people in the zones for the big bosses now, and they don’t take forever to kill anymore. Secondly, I zoned into Orr last night and there were actually 4 different groups of people running around doing events, so I followed a couple of different commanders and it was like the old days. I actually did Plinx twice! Haven’t done that in ages.

Anybody else secretly digging the megaserver? It’s actually pretty awesome in some ways.

Why is zerging so encouraged in this game?

Zerging is human nature. It is how wars are won, how battle are won, how fights are won. The more people you have the better. The game emulates life in that regard.

Best healer?

Thank you jedi master. You solve my problem.

@dreamy there are a lot of healer in this game. Know your game

There are NO HEALERS at all in GW2…
GW2’s Combat system is based on 3 Combat mechanics: Damage/Control/Support.
Learn the combat system and perhaps, you’ll understand the moment you focus on only 1 aspect of the fight, the more of a liability you become to the group, and solos for yourself.

Here are videos I recommend you watch:

Video#1: This video will show you what the basic combat mechanics are in GW2.

Video#2: This video will give you an idea of how All 8 Classes apply them.

Hopefully these 2 videos help you understand. Good luck

I believe the Devs are human, like all of us, and can appreciate positive feedback just as much as constructive critical feedback. There is nothing wrong with posting you are in favor of a particular implementation of content or features. When I prepare meals for the family, I receive both kinds of feedback (though not always constructive..lol..kids), and from that feedback I know what to continue to serve, and what isn’t appreciated. If I got no feedback whatsoever, I would be unsure if something was enjoyed, even if it was consumed.

Besides, we all appreciate positive reinforcement, just as we can learn from feedback that is not so positive. Just my personal opinion, of course.

One thing I do not not understand though is the amount of those here that complain about the changes that you have done to the game. Your world changes to some extent a lot and to others the impact is very minor but enough to feel that change anytime I go to the maps that are now changed.

I think the core issue is that allot of people try to persuade devs to implement/emulate systems from their favorite games.

Here’s an anecdote: Today I talked with a friend who left GW2 for Wildstar and who is a hardcore PvEr.
We talked about pros and cons of GW2 and Wildstar, and pretty much everything he listed about Wildstar as a feature sounded to me like something I wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole (for example gear grinding through dungeon tiers for better equipment).
After a while I wanted to ask him why did he spend so much time struggling with GW2 since allot of the “features” in GW2 go against his favorite play style.

This is the same kind of attitude you can see on these forums in almost every section… Why is there no holy trinity, lack of tiered gear grinding, lack of instanced raids etc. People come from other games with their own definition of “fun” and “proper way of doing things” and they’d like to mold GW2 into it, not caring (or not being able to comprehend) that different people have different mindsets. Then they get frustrated when their suggestions are not being given attention leading to one more popular complaint: “devs never listen to us”, which was proven incorrect on so many occasions.

All that being said, there is always room for improvement, and GW2 is far from a perfect game, but before asking for a change one should ask himself if that change would fit the “spirit” of the game, and if the answer is positive give his suggestion in a concise and thought out manner. I’ve seen countless suggestions implemented from these kinds of discussions.

They merged some minor traits into major traits, and changed some others. This way every time you click to put a point in a line, you get a trait unlocked instantly. I’d say thats better then simply clicking and seeing nothing more then a little stat boost.

I’m hardly confused by it at all.

Full set of 80’s I’m guessing.

Well as a new player I now have to level 5 times (after getting to 30) to see any results to my effort.

How does this make the game more fun or interesting? I seems slower and less involved to me but then I’m not sitting on top of a pile of 80’s pitting the plebs!

People leaving a game that has changed in ways they strongly dislike aren’t “rage quitting”. They’re just flat out quitting because they no longer like the product. Some are angry, some sad, some are disappointed and some annoyed. Some don’t care enough to feel anything about leaving and are just going to find other games and hobbies. Mocking people for leaving isn’t helpful for fair. I haven’t left but I’ve deleted several characters that I no longer have time to work on developing. It just seems too time consuming to work on them now that lower levels are crippled from this patch. I’m making a point on scaling back my involvement due to the unneeded stress of having to rework, rebuild and relearn everything. I played this game for fun and as a stress relief from work. Now it’s just become more work.

This is also the first time I’ve ever spoken on these forums since I got the game at launch. I’ve never felt the need before and I’m a very laid back and casual player. Even with the debacle of the Living Story over the last year- it was problematic but the base game was intact and could still be enjoyed. In one year they’ve destroyed the mechanics of the game, the sense off community on the world servers, Lions Arch, town clothes and my confidence in their creative and design directions..

I’m not gone but I really have one foot out the door and don’t think I’ll be dedicating as much time as I was planning to this summer on playing this game or in the foreseeable future.

Reducing the number of options for daily is a bad ideea. And for the PvP players, how is it fair to only have 2 PvP daily achievements!? Is attaining daily reward still possible for the PvP-only player?

The number of options should have at least stayed the same, if not been increased. If ANet wants people to start playing other game modes, this is not the way, it will only make people kittened. What would have been a better solution was to give more rewards to someone who completes his daily by doing achievements from 2 categories, and even more for someone who completes achievements from all 3 categories. This way, the people only interested in one aspect of the game would still get the basic reward, but they would be enticed (not forced) to do a bit more for the extra reward.

Anet just don’t seem to get that some people only like 1 mode of the game. They keep trying to make the players “like” the other modes. Sigh. What is supposed to be more options became less options. Going backwards anet.

I’m in the same boat as above. I looked forward to playing each day, by focusing on getting my dailies done. When I had time I would do as many as possible but when I didn’t, I liked that I had multiple choices so I could get them done quickly. I won’t be joining wvw or pvp just do do dailies. If I don’t like a part of the game, I’m not going to play it. I’m hoping this is a bug because if it’s not, I see myself playing a lot less and spending a lot less money on this game in the future.

I think it’s part of ANet’s plan to get players to experience both PvE and PvP. Personally, I think the new system is dumb. You have less options now and are forced to do things you may not like in order to complete your daily.

The wardrobe system and the dual two-handed sigils are fantastic improvements, and I rather like the new trait layout even if I think they could have done better in how they curved trait progression.

Hey guys. I created a separate post trying to get a list of Megaserver zones. I tested a few and got these results:

Megaserver: Black Citadel, Rata Sum, Timberline Falls, Heart of the Mists
Not Megaserver: Divinity’s Reach, Dredgehaunt Cliffs, Mount Maelstrom

Feel free to add zones on that thread. Should be on the front page.

Grove is on Megaserver as well.

I don’t understand the logic behind people not wanting the major cities to be Megaserver. I mean. They were literally ghost towns, now I can’t even see the bank guy in Grove there’s so many people! It’s awesome! And Black Citadel, that place literally never had another soul in it that wasn’t there because of Personal Story. Now there’s people roaming around all over. Server allegiances be darned, I think having people in the cities is way better than not having them.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

Precursor for:
100% World map + Level 49 FOTM + 100 WvW Ranks + Dungeon Master

Sounds reasonable enough. Obtain a legendary precursor by playing the game.

Yalora has:

  • 100% World map complete
  • Level 0 FOTM
  • 0 WvW Ranks
  • 0% Dungeon Master

Yalora is not allowed to have a Precursor. /sob

However…

Yalora has

  • been playing since Beta
  • has 11,126 Achievement points
  • has played 3,500+ hours to date
  • has fun every day

I thought I was playing the game but it seems that now I can’t have a Precursor cause I have been playing the game WRONG all this time. Why didn’t one of you guys tell me? /sob

Orr is a chore

Orr was supposed to be the end it all end game zone. But people prefer grinding Queensdale, Frostgorge, EotM zergs and dungeons because they actually give money.

All the timer events nerf, loot nerf, implementation of DR, the death of the Plinx event chain, champs such as rise spider champs spawning little veteran spiderlings that gives no loot and exp, champ chicken smashing you in the face with 30k+ damage etc killed the entire zone population.

The April 15th patch notes will explain that Minecraft bought a controlling interest in this game and is planning to reconfigure the world into little blocks. The sun was the first stage.

With the April 29th patch notes, personal and guild homes can be built by cutting out blocks of earth and using the cubes to build structures.

Dueling will be announce on May 13th but only with environmental weapons. Mounts also will be allowed but only on the computer generated sheep that will be randomly roaming around.

On May 27th the ultimate mount will appear, a cubic version of the dragon Mordremoth. The rider will be Scarlet. (She’s BAAACKK!)

So what you’re saying is that if a game doesn’t have an arrow for you to follow and give you objectives on your screen you are incapable of having fun. I think the main audience of this game is somewhat like the main audience of sandbox games: people who can take a huge sprawling game world where things are always going on around them and can make their own fun with it.
