I don’t play WvW much so I can’t help you there but I understand it’s ok. A more experienced person will be able to help on that one.

Dungeon wise it all depends on who you’re doing the dungeon with.
If you’re doing a speed run stack and smack then no it is not useful at all because you’ll be so close to the enemy that all your damage will be nerfed to hell. And because ranged damage is bad. You’d do much better with a greatsword or main hand sword.
If you’re pugging with casuals then it’s iffy. Some of them will be ok with it some of them will kick you on sight. Depends on what the LFG description says. If you make your own LFG and start the instance then you’ll be ok – but the run may take longer than you want.
If you’re dungeoneering with guild mates (who are casual) then yeah it’s perfectly possible. Unless stacking at which point you’re once again being nerfed to no damage.

Depending on how you want to run the dungeon depends on how useful it will be. A casual group taking their time then yeah knock yourself out it’ll be fine. A speed run group then no it’ll be no good at all.

Warriors -
Pros – Easy to handle, welcome in most groups, good damage, good survivability
Cons – Everyone has one. Kinda dull (for me).

Rangers -
Pros – Fun to level (for me), not bad damage (not as good as warrior), ok survivability
Cons – Lot of Ranger hate, ranged weapons do less damage than melee weapons, Pet AI is not great.

Honestly the best way to find out which would be best for you is to make one of each and play them for a little bit and see which you prefer. I prefer Ranger. I like my Warrior as well, I just find that Ranger is more fun.

Whichever class you choose try out the different weapons. But my advice is make one of each try them out for a few levels (till about level 10) and see which you prefer.

Oh definitely Ranger all the way. Much more fun than Warrior for me. Just watch out for the Pet AI (the I part can be non existent) and learn how to manage it (when to stow/set on passive/use F2 skill) but you should pick that up as you go along.

From my experience -

Warriors – Easy to level, good damage and everyone loves having a warrior around.
Thieves – More difficult to level. Very squishy but on the other hand most things die before you really have to worry about them.
Necros – Not too difficult to level but damage is not great. It’s ok just not amazing.

Personally for me the most fun is Necro then Warrior and then Thief. My advice would be make one of each and try them out see which you prefer.

With regards to class my advice is if you like the look of an Engineer then make an Engineer. Try it out and see if you like it. Try out the different regular weapons get a few levels and try out some kits or turrets and see what you enjoy. If it’s not for you you can try something else.

With regards to the low level stuff find a guild that will help you and join their main server. If you look in the guild recruitment section find one that appeals to you and put yourself forward as a player interested in joining. Most of them will be willing to help and have members with alts that either need levelling or haven’t done the map you’re trying to complete.

If you have Guild Emblem under your current upgrades then you just need to queue Guild Armor Contract and Guild Weapons Contract. They’re both found under the Politics upgrades with Armor Contract being available at level 2 and Weapons at level 3.

As far as I can see the only way to get the most out of Torch it to go for a burn build so try the below out and see if it works for you. Evidently you can adjust armor and such to your liking.

Sword? checked it but it seems most attacks are melee based.
and what’s a spotter?

I use a Sword/Dagger Ranger and honestly I’ve got to say it’s one of the more fun classes I’ve used. The evades on Sword #2 and # 3 and Dagger #4 are brilliant. Give the sword a go (it may take a little while to get used to) but for me it’s one the more fun weapons in the game.

Also you can switch the Dagger out for a Torch to get a nice fire field for people to blast which can be quite useful.

I joined a friend on this a couple of weeks ago. The regen I was giving out was also being applied to the NPC opponent, too.

I was pleasantly surprised for such a griefing opportunity to land in my lap

Haha yeah I’d forgotten about that. I think I had to stand on the very edge of the boat so I didn’t apply regen to the opponent. Was a hassle but it made it easier for my friend.

Ranger is medium armor and can wield a greatsword. Not saying it’s a favourite (I prefer sword/dagger with my Ranger) but you can wield one.

Hey folks so I’m just starting to get into WvW and I need some advice.

The first time you use the skin you don’t need a transmutation stone. Double click and away you go.
When you want to move the skin from your old armour to your new armour then you’ll need 1 transmutation stone per piece of armour transmuted.
