The HoM armies were based on the CD art so I’m fine with it . … Just don’t try using the warriors build on the CD lol
sure you can go back to GW1 and get your 30 for rewards . it may be a little rough though with fewer people there now but its doable
Im pretty sure lore has to do with every part of the game including achievements
My main has a name i’d like to reuse for an alt or two, i don’t want to add anything to that name, i don’t want to use a variation of it
Unfortunately you’re going to have to . Its not like its that hard to come up with unique names for each character . I do wonder what your attachment to said name is though seeing that you would want to use it on 8 characters and even pay for such a feature .
lore doesent support it though . the Lore states that the mists are not part of the world so again why should it have to be explored for World completion. when the games own lore doesent support it theres an issue
(edited by Adine.2184)
So…an Anet agent went to your house and put a gun against your head and forced you to do pvp?
World exploration is not a pve or neither a pve achievement, it’s an exploration one. One imposed to you by the game designers, if you choose to complete it you should do it under their terms, and if you don’t like it or feel that you’re unable to do it then simply don’t do it.
funny thing about PvP though is it takes place in the mists which are not part of the world . UW and FoW weren’t needed for cartographer title in GW 1 so why should areas in the mists be needed for map completion in GW 2
I am on my third character and rarely if ever go near Arah.
Waypoint costs are there for a reason. They act as a money sink and encourage exploration. Bypassing all of that IS an exploit whether you agree with it or not.
You just invalidated your own argument . If they encourage exploration whouldent you be more inclined to spend time in Arah exploring it?
I see nothing wrong with it personally . If nothing is going on in one see if something is going on in another . Also keep in mind some people may use it to have a PvP guild a PvE guild and an RP guild or something to that effect . Face it in a multi-guild system forced representation just doesn’t work .
Infusion only protected you against Spectral Agony and you could technically still be run through missions without infused armor . I think what you are really looking for is an Ascension mechanic
1-Handed Main-Hand weapons should all offer 5 skills instead of 3

Thief may very well be the worst example as skill 3 is different when you have a bare hand as an off hand than when you have another weapon .
As for your suggestion if ANET did this many people would never feel the need to get an off hand making them invalid .
I would love a Halberd and a Crossbow added . Maybe even a Flail
I asked my friend this question many years ago in GW1. his answer pretty much sums it up. That answer was (and I quote): “If i’m going to spend a thousand hours staring at my characters butt, it might as well be an attractive female one.”
its not a 1 size fits all thing though . Some people make female characters simply because thats what the character profile they came up with stated . I roll a d4 to determine the sex of my characters and go from there .
I just wish it only showed in PvP areas .
For Daily Kill Variety, please let Risen count against original species.

Kill variety takes what 10 mins to complete in non orrian zones? Why not just port to a non orrian zone to get your kill variety and then port back to Orr . Face it if you’ve gotten to Orr you probably enough silver to do that . Heck just killing stuff from LA to Vigil Keep will likely get you the kill variety from there just port over to Fort Trinity to make the rest of your trip cheaper
The best advice anyone can give is the following
1) find a play style you like and stick with it .
2 ) Ask alot of questions . We dont bite ……. much
3 ) Find a Guild. even if you solo more than you play in a group being in a guild is always a good idea as they will be willing to help you out with items ,questions events etc more than a pug would.
If you want a contrast for starting classes Guardian Elementalist and Engineer would be the first 3 as they all have very different play styles and cover all the armor classes which should give you an idea of what you like and what you dont
hmmm….that word raid ….hmmmm . I assume you mean Dynamic Events you pretty much just run into them and follow the instructions for it till ya get a metal
(edited by Adine.2184)
Engineer is your Swiss army knife class so as far as diversity goes thats your class .
For tanky i would go Guardian or War . Guardians have low base health but have the best defensive skill set in the game which more than makes up for it . the Warrior as its namesake states is more offense oriented .Aas far as elites go the warrior has a more practical set up as the guardians tomes replace your weapon skills for a time much like a kit would on an engineer.

Yes. If I recall correctly, you need the skill points to buy materials.
In any case, don’t neglect your skills for a legendary. Over the time it takes you to gather the mats required for one, you’ll no doubt gain a good number of them. The prospect of a legendary (or even an actual legendary) won’t keep you alive or make you a better player.
Skills wont necessarily make one a better player either its knowing how and when to use them that’s important.
last i checked the real world doesent have Charr, (thank Lyssa) Sylvari , Assura, or Norn either
If it happens it’ll likely be cash shop like it was in GW1 . As to the when who knows .
that looks pretty good . Almost like an Assassin from GW 1 .
Well all Charr are evil and must be wiped off the face of the planet so i can understand them being low level and am happy to hear it . As for Human and Norn being high its probably a comfort level thing .
what set is that?
I would prefer “Advance To The Rear!” or “About Face RUN!!!!”
@BrickMcThornbody. i dont think that kind of thing would ever turn males off. you really worded what you put on () badly lol
IMHO the HoM mask is better anyway
“There isn’t ‘female armors’ in real life because there were not many female warriors.”
This statement is incorrect. Joan of Arc and Elizabeth I are two I can think of off the top of my head who were real women who definitely did not wear chainmail bikinis. Ok, so you said “not many female warriors” and that part is true but there is real female armor worn by real women.
you forgot Boudica.
If you want to get into myth i could write a 20 page essay on it but im not gonna do that .
sorry Arcane magic is taken already. By the Elementalist no less.
From the wiki
“Arcane is a utility skill type exclusive to elementalists, using non-elemental magical energy. All arcane spells have an instant cast time.”
Besides if you use the D&D standard we already have wizards
Mesmer=Illusionist
Nero=well….Necomancer ( kinda goes without saying)
Ele= Conjurer, Evoker
on top of that we have Guardians running around yelling " YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" every time they cast line of warding ……
Yes guild wars 1 had guild halls and each guild hall had a different look to it based on a certain area of the map . So in vanilla guild wars the guild halls looked like Pre Searing (think charr lands in GW2) ,The ring of fire,Shiverpeaks,Maguma Jungle (sylvari type area ) ,Kryta, crystal desert, and catacombs . Additionally depending on the guild hall there were certain features that would be active during GvG such as lava that would burn you in the ring of fire guild hall or the pre-searing one having catapults so there was strategy involved depending on the terrain and features of the guild hall you were fighting in .
There were also quite a few upgrades that a guild could get for their hall but i honestly cant think of what they were its been so long since ive had to do it .
Id honestly be fine these armors being high end crafting recipes for karma or even dungeon drops as long as i could get my hands on them .
Trench coats in general are a flawed design from a realisim perspective . A thief wouldn’t use one cause there’s too much risk of making noise , its only going to get in the way of an engineers holsters delaying his draw and making equipping kits more awkward . That makes ranger the only viable option
I would like to see the instruments return as well .
didn’t have em in GW 1 wont have em in GW2
I went over to the TA armor guy today and when i previewed the level 55 stuff it looked like banded mail and not TA armor. I assume this a bug but does lower level TA armor look the same as the higher level ? I dont want to spend my tokens if im going to end up with a look i dont want .
Ive got 2 fairly decent looking redheads . Although more colors wouldent hurt .
Be more careful where you go AFK next time
Im not sure what resseting would do other than give more rewards for rediscovering things. Also if zone progress is reset, are waypoints reset too? and do you mean Everything reset or only a single chosen zone? I think if a area detects high level players it’d be neat if events meant for experienced well equiped players would trigger.
Yes, Waypoints would have to be reset too, otherwise it’d be too easy. And yes, that would be the entire point, more reward opportunity in a zone that you otherwise might never even bother returning to.
This would be too easily exploited be resetting high level zones to get high end rewards . If someone isent going to low end area for other reasons why would they reset the zone to get low end rewards ?
I cant speak for others but when I create a character I have a whole back story that I give them. So for me its not the " what do i want to look at " factor but more of a what do I want to make today kind of thing.
Actually cars DO function identically the function of a car is to get you from one place to another . You turn on the engine and car moves simple as that . You need a better example and dont use apples and oranges cause they have more similarities than differences
Yea i agree .

Note that although im only using the female models im wanting both male and female versions but posting both would be too many links .
This thread made me lulz. I can’t wait for Greenpeace to show up and boycott this game xD
Followed by a Jack Thompson lawsuit no doubt .
I’ll pass . it costs gold to get it out of circulation which helps the game economy over all .
as ive said many times before T3 is the equivalent of FoW armor in GW1 . It costs an insane amount and is simply there so the rich have a visual to show off their wealth . It also serves to remove gold from circulation .
I thought it was the legendary armor that was the equivalent of FOW armor. It’s more along the line of the other kind of armor, can’t remember what it was called now, elite?
Like the Vabbian armor and such.
no Vabbian equivalent would be Vigil ,Priory or Order of Whispers armors . Costly but not bank braking .
As far as im aware if it has the prefix pact you have to use the token to get it .
From the Wiki
“Pact weapons are attained from Pact Requisitioner Hargrove, an NPC that appears in the Caer Aval instanced area in the southwest of Fort Trinity after the completion of the personal storyline. He sells Pact Weapons costing one Pact Victory Token each. To enter the Caer Aval instance, approach the large safe-like door on the south side of the central Fort Trinity hub.”
so it looks like you’ve got some story to do .
Because everyone knows Massively MULTIPLAYER Online Games are ment to be played solo….
Keep dungeons the way they are
how many HoM points do you have ?
The only possible issue that would hold back new classes is lore that would make them available to all races I cant really see this as too big an issue though.
