Iron. Who needs a Forge when you yourself can conjure flame
It was a Warrior skill brought over from Guildwars 1 so i dont see it changing.
Who here remembers the days Monkbots owned Elonas Reach? Well for those that dont It was mission in Guildwars 1 that was overrun with "invincimonks " to the point zoning in could make some people lag out and then one day all the monkbots went poof as if none of them had ever existed.
The only difference between FoW and T3 cultural is that T3 cultural is cheaper .
Sorry but this is wrong. At the current price level T3 is, at best, twice the price of FoW, and at worst, as much as five times the price.
Cost of Armor- 15 Plat per piece
Cost of ecto- roughly 1020 Plat
Cost of Shards -roughly 600 Plat
Then of course you had the cheaper mats . However taking the way the economies worked into account FoW is by far the more expensive
Ive said it in several threads about T3 armor but i guess I’ll have to say it again . T3 Cultural is the equivalent to FoW from Guild Wars 1 . Its soul purpose is for rich players to show off their wealth .The only difference between FoW and T3 cultural is that T3 cultural is cheaper .
Shouldn’t thought go into such a thing before naming it to begin with ?
I know several people who want this back so I’ll suport it though i personally dont mind the current system .
I don’t mean any disrespect but don’t just say we need need more main-hand weapon skills. Propose main-hand weapons that could be added that would be viable .
If you post about an Exploit or cheat on here people are going to be more likely to do it and thats not a good thing .
I think Glint put it best
Glint: “Your deeds have earned you a place among the heroes of legend.”
Glint: “Let us hope today is not the day your spirit joins those ensconced in the Hall.”
so clearly the fate of our heroes to be ensconced in the Hall of Heros
Who did you like more? Characters from the first games compared to GW2
in Lore

Gotta go with Goren and Norgu as my top 2 for heros. for Hench it would have to be Aidan. Heres an interesting fact about Aidan actually in the Prophesies manual it says hes born in Kree Foothills but in the following manuals and wiki its Borlis Pass where hes born
T3 Cultural is like FoW from Guild Wars 1. (its actually cheaper than FoW ) Its ment to be super expensive as a show piece so players can show off wealth .
You’re way over generalizing . Im a Guild Wars veteran of 7 years now and as far as “grind” is concerned i dont really care either way . Guild Wars 1 had its grinds too you just had specialized builds for it . Its more about what people find fun and if they’re not getting it they’re going to complain
A lot of the GW1 grind was optional too. At least depending on what you considered finishing the game.
But yeah, I’m a GW1 player too and I don’t mind grind as long as I feel like it’s optional in some way. (And that way isn’t grind for days/weeks or pay £50.) So far I haven’t had a problem with the grind in this game at all.
Absolutely I agree 100% . If i wanted a VSF , FoW armor or a title i knew i was going to have to do some grinding . Same goes for GW2 if i want that T3 Cultural or a Legendary there’s going to be grind involved that’s just something people have to accept .

Its hard enough just organizing 8 much less 10. Besides they would have to balance all the dungeons for 10 people instead of 5.
they’re mini-moding but they are right . its technically agaist the rules to do so
as for the topic I’ll pass . i dont see the need
I haven’t actually used this on my engineer but I’ll have to take a look at it albeit with some caution . I have Epilepsy and can tell you first hand gran mauls are not fun so any concerns such as this should be looked at as far as I’m concerned .
I would also like to mention overlapping Chaos Storms while we are on the subject
Just a few things
1 ) you could NEVER change your Primary class just your secondary
2) you could only use Runes and armor related to your primary
3 ) You couldn’t use all attributes of your seconday in Guildwars as one was a "primary " attribute only avaiible if it was your primary class .
4 ) you had to be Ascended to switch secondary
on to GW2 issues
1) Changing classes would wipe out any skills you knew other than racial requiring you to buy them all again
2) if you went from a light armor class to a heavy or medium all your armor is now striped and rendered useless
3 ) your weapons ethos would be different possibly rendering them useless and stripping them from you
4) it would make the 4 other character slots pointless
You’re going to have no clue how to trait or play the class properly since you never leveled up with it rendering you useless .
you never fought a dragon in GW.
Umm yes you did 3 in fact . Glint and the Great Destroyer and Kunnavang . Although they were minor they were still dragons
(edited by Adine.2184)
I would assume since Guild Wars 1 had holiday events Guild Wars 2 will . Its just a matter of where they’ll take place
I just want to know why some pants have a glove for an image……….
It makes for a better game economy when dyes are rarer and what better way to make them rarer than to make them per character .
Although I like the pro/con aspect the problem is bows are 2 handed so putting them in offhand wouldn’t work . This only leaves the idea of Ammo slots and that has always been a bad option and should never be implemented
I’ll pass .Look at it this way if I’m in the United States Marine Corps why would I wear a United States Air Force uniform? Besides it will keep the armors slightly more unique
not sure what you mean .

wait so your saying if your rolling with one guild and someone from the other passes by the other guildie in your party says poe likes us better and a cat fight breaks out ? I say leave it like it is just for the Jerry Springer show mentality.
sure I’ll concede the longbow, Although the classic longbow doesn’t seem like a thief’s first weapon of choice do to its size . When i think thief i think of weapons like Dirks, Short Swords , Short or recurve bows ,Saps, Deringers maybe a buckler for defense that kind of thing
I think a slow fade would be better as well . To look a t this from another perspective quick flashes such as this cause problems for seizure prone people .
Rifles are NOT stealthy . In fact rifles give away your position quite easily not just from the noise but the powder . Ever fire an 1858 Springfield ? No such thing as stealth when it comes to that thing . As much as i love the smell of Black Powder in the morning if I want to be sneaky I’m using a Bowie Knife
Derpinator I’ll give you my list of things that kept me playing Guild Wars 1 for 7+ Years
1) The Community
It was friendly . This is important because if a game if filled with a bunch of grentches your not going to be having fun no matter what .2 )The Music
This may sound odd to some but music actually plays a roll in in gaming as it does in movies. If it doesn’t fit the atmosphere or action you’re going to be left wanting . As far as im concerned Guild Wars has one of the best Soundtracks and the Music seems to fit the atmosphere/action perfectly .
3) Helping Others
This kind of speaks for itself but going back to long forgotten missions ( in GW2 this would be Personal Story ) and helping someone out simply because i could .
4) Titles
Yes working on titles is fun to me and quite frankly they need more . You also need the ability to show them .
5)Community Events and holidays
Community events such as Wintersday and CNY always bring people back and are always fun .
6) Dungeons and Elite Missions
These were fun to me and i think having some elite dungeons Urgoz/The Deep style would be great .
Adine, a wonderful list! And thank you!
I would ask: did these things make you feel more a part of the world, as if you were part of a community, as if you made a difference?
edit [for some reason it changed the number to 1] number 2 is just pure appreciation of someone else’s efforts, and I get that it doesn’t make you feel meaningful in and of itself. But to my mind, every other item meant that you felt impactful. Not necessarily that you changed the world itself, but that you were a part of a world worth impacting.
Which doesn’t change my original point. We want to matter, and we want to matter in a place that mattering matters.
Ok, I know that’s a bit of a silly way to put it but look at the other side. If you made a difference in a world no one else would see, would you play MMO’s? The second M is “multiplayer”, and if that isn’t important… what is?
I stand by my point: we want to matter.
Yes it did . As for 2 it goes to Emotional involvement in the game as the job of music is to evoke an emotion . If you evoke sadness when you should be be evoking happiness then you havent done your job have you?
To bring up the “did i matter” point I can bring up several examples in fact . War In Kryta . When it starts there are white mantle everywhere in Kryta when it ends they are gone Winds of Change has a similar effect but a Canthan version . Alliance Battles moved the Kurzick/Luxon line on the map and definitely had an impact . Maxing titles extendeds Favor of the gods. Before the update to how Favor worked it was which ever server ( NA,Europe or Asian ) held Halls could enter UW or FoW and get blessings from he gods which made a big difference .
A thief has limited weapon choices? Have you ever looked at the ethos of the Engineer all its got is pistol rifle and shield .

T3 Cultural is like FoW armor in Guild Wars 1 in my opinion . It’s the "look at me im rich " armor and is uber expensive for a reason
Racist isn’t the right term, I think the word your looking for is nationalist but that’s besides the point . I think if it’s the EU server people have the right to speak in their native tongue . With that said however I’m not sure its a good idea to post such a topic here as it will likely end in a flame war
I’m interested in the game now, not later, this wait mentallity due to bugs is not an acceptable response in reality is it?
Considering how short a time the game has been out and bugs are pretty much to be expected in any new game of this size on the market yes. Now if it were 6 months-1 year later you would have a case . Ever play Sims 3? That games been out Lyssa knows how many years and it’s got more bugs than it started with .My friend I don’t see you having a case right now. In fact I think I’m going to prescribe you a 6 moth supply of chill pills cause you could sure use them .
In a way they are but I’m more than willing to jump in a WoW player
This is an awful idea . this would cause a flood of people to hit the zone all at once which just isn’t needed . Just turn say or map chat off in those zones if you dont want to see people asking .
@ Mexican cookie
the Prophesies manual doesn’t have a singe chapter dedicated to PvP and yet has an entire chapter dedicated to the creatures of Tyria. Makes you wonder dont it.
I think a HoM would be great . I would put it somewhere in Orr though since its an end game thing anyway.
sigh… this again?
The game has a lot of bugs, a lot very annoying and must be fixed. For that, you have a Bug sections.
You don’t like the endgame? sorry this game wasn’t What You Expected Of It. Go to the suggestion forums, make your point.
DON’T Come here to spread hate. Dont tell us “what other MMOs” did. If you want to quit, do it.. leave a good feedback in the forums and come back when you want, because you have not yo pay subs.
you’re making their point for them . instead of “OMG GO AWAY!” try saying something constructive
If you think THIS is hostile go take a look at the Sims 3 forums this is tame compared to them .
One thing to keep in mind while reading the posts is that GW2 just came out and there still some kinks that still need worked out . On top of that a lot of the mechanics have changed from GuildWars 1 to GuildWars 2 and GW1 fans haven’t adjusted to that. The GW1 community at large was actually very friendly, I think forums just have a habit of bringing out the worst in some people
Yk im in the same boat as you I hardly ever did PvP bar some 1v1s to teach Wars a lesson on my mes and event PvP ( such as Snowball and DA ) and i played 7 years .
I know the why but if its a PvP only guild and i want to do some PvE with a guild i have friends in Why cant i join and represent them while i do it?
It’s more about psychology than anything else . People don’t like being forced to do something even a phrasing can make a difference. If you phrase it “You must represent us at all times”( a forceful tone ) people are going to be less likely to do so than “Please represent us at all times” . ( a friendly tone )
Sure guilds have the right to be totalitarian but ummm I’m not sure that’s a good thing .
Wolfgrey Although you are correct in saying that you could make a a PvP character at level 20 right off the bat you are forgetting how you had to unlock the skills for PvP . You had to either Buy the PvP packs from the store ,Unlock them in PvE or use Balthazar faction which isn’t exactly ideal when you have few skills to begin with .So in that respect alone Guild Wars 1 was PvE oriented .
Something else to think about is that the very first additions to Guild Wars was Sorrows Furnace and the Titan Quests which are both PvE . Only when Factions came out did you get more PvP oriented stuff . Never mind they changed how favor worked as well as changing it from being PvP oriented to PvE oriented ( seeing as affected PvE in the first place ) . Although I think the biggest argument for PvE orientation in guild wars is the fact after each expansion there has been no content updates in favor of PvP (bar holiday events) and a TON in favor of PvE
Although i think it would be great i don’t see it happening as you have both dungeons and Personal Story as well as Dynamic Events . Also you’ll probably be saying " hang on let me grab my…" when someone is asking for help with their story and you will have done it many times before knowing exactly whats needed .
GW2 encourages the death of small woodland creatures. I feel bad that I am now addicted to killing small woodland creatures everytime I pass them because of the variety kill bonus!
Whats wrong with you? I love killing Bambi and Thumper and the whole lot of them .
