Desert map is already too big, it takes forever to find someone to fight against. Let’s say you wipe with your group, you will spend the next 5 minutes just running to the other side of the map. The amount of downtime makes gameplay slow and boring.

that could be tweaked if they bring the main keep to the center and remove the fire keep under zone to a more plain with a oasis keep.
Meanwhile spawn could be where the actual keep is and they could had nort a suply factory where that would give acces to a charr panzer guild controled vehicle^^.

Stil the game lacks mehcanics, theres no point in actually capture nor defend, u gain nothing wich is thge main issue in this game.

WvW should behave a ike an RTS, guilds/groups should suplies/resources zones to cap and defend/upgrade like mines , siege weapons, soldiers, etc.

Still i think thi si snot possible with the actuall Anet mentality, since they want to make just a blatant pve game.

1 – issue, no incentivation or logic to cap nor defend
2- issue lack of mechanics (the buffs and gimmicks arrent mechanics, they are just there to create some poor gameplay and hide the lack of severla mechanics that WvW need)
3 – siege gameplay is awfull, needs more siege but more balanced siege, and less supplies to build the siege.

Its not the map size its the lack of mechanics

I doubt they will function exactly like kits tbh. It doesn’t make sense to have no CD on them as it would generally make the entire virtues line pointless. If they do function exactly like kits it’s pretty meh. I love having a more intricate rotation compared to the braindead spam we have now but if I wanted keyboard piano I’d just play my engi.

They could take a leaf out of Revenant’s book, considering the pictures suggest they have some sort of energy/initiative system. So lower cooldowns but not something you can mindlessly spam.

If they are giving us Mantras, does that mean Guardian Lore would be mimicking Mesmers much like how DH mimicked Rangers?

If that’s the case, we likely won’t be getting any rage, energy, or initiative type bars.

Wasnt that the point that (i think it was MO or Colling ) sayd that every class will have what other classes have.

So i assume the use of tomes by initiative, mantras will allow us to recover initiative by X mantras activated, and possible a traits to boost the gain, gain initiative hitting targets on fire etc :\.
If its innitiative i bet it will work like this :|

I would love a trait if hit target with a stance that stance will terminate and set target on fire. (if i recall this was a gw1 skill form axe)
(edit: just remminded that PVE mobs had to had stances for the class to have this kind of skill….. ) sadly a pve only game Ç_Ç

Guys this sounds a bit nerf or remove ac’s so i can pvd or proxy cata…

ANet just needs to increase the radios of forbiding same siege being constructed, that needs to be much larger, in some tower i cant stack 3 + AC’s in one place that needs to end wich is the issue.

if 20-30 players cant cap a tower becouse 2 or 3 ac’s they dont deserve that tower the issue is the siege stacking situations, both offensively and defensively.

Sviel.7493 ideas a definitely worth trying, although I don’t agree with some numbers in his suggestion (e.g. AC #1 reduction by 50% makes it pretty much useless unless you could compensate with the #3 vulnerability stacks).

My biggest gripe with siege placement is that stacking of catapults next to a wall. The importance of placement would be so much better, if catas could have a minimum range of perhaps 1200, before they do damage. This way ballistas would play a much bigger role in defending and attacking (e.g. attackers would need to clear defending siege with their own ballistas, because they can’t hide the catas in the blind spots close to the wall).

ac reductions by 50%.. that would be… same as bee afk, i do hit arround 500-800 damage with a normal ac and arround 1k 1.5k with a superior ac….

Still i dont get it, classes do over 15k on wvw,… players says its balanced, players leech from pvd and cry when some hits do 1k from a superior ac, where they have the option to not be under the ac area….

i really dont get it.

Although I find it extremely funny that Anet is jumping through all these hoops to try and make different professions into healers by using the same mechanical philosophy that a certain light armored profession already has built into her…. Hmmm……

well i do remmember some one stating that they would bring every weapons (core) and class role to every class before starting something else.

So every class will have eventuallyh trapper, healers, condis, whatever.
It just feels slooooow process XD, and the balance…. if continues to be doubtfull like HoT was…

What i am talking about AOE ish is making effects that have icd go on cd per person so skills that have no icd now would get them but be more aimed at hitting more then one person. A lot of effects are made to hit one target and then go on icd that realty dose not work well in wvw.

That the thing you don’t need to add in new skills for your blizzard example you can do that already with glyph of elemental power because its icd is per person not per activation.

There are optimal rotations for every class, just because you spam random buttons doesn’t mean the gameplay isn’t there.

and the gap between optimal builds and no optimal it quite big, that is what im trying to say.

Forcing players to play gimmick rotations isnt good. either, ive been there and i didnt liked and in some i felst carried, i jagte to play and feel caried.

Necros have AI that they bring to pvp, so if that’s acceptable, then Spirit Weapons should be as well.

Keeping a whole skill type at a sorry state because it’s against your sensibilities is stupid, those skills exist and they shouldn’t awful to use.

well that is the problem shield SW tends to go out of combat and get close to something that is red cause the A.I thinks it is a actacking weapon, same happens with the bow, they should just stick close to the caster, or return to the caster after command.

sword and hammer are okish they are offensive so the offensive a.i is rigth still any one with passive speed outruns them, and theydie with 1-2 hits.

Minor changes could make them more playable.

People complained about desert BL maps beeing too large, and taking too much time to get from one spot to the other.
And originally as I remember the WP in both Fire and Air keep was unavailable for the “home” server? (Though can’t recall if it was design or just a bug)

people complain about DBL because:

1st reason – It takes time to ktrain
2nd reason – It takes time to ktrain
3rd reason – It takes time to ktrain
4th reason – Map might be to big for this game since it lacks mechanics and gameplay.

Except you are completely incorrect on the first three reasons. The time it takes to cap everything a WvW map has always been irrelevant, or EB would be the most hated map in the game.

EB is actually themost loved map because u can cap stuff faster, trebs form tower to castle and vice versa, while ktrain other part of the map, and if ur blob gets pushed or needs to fall back u have a close place to hide nearby, same happens with alpine bl.

stil i went there a bit as a joke, there are other issues o the DBL but i find them irevellant for most players, and stated that 3 times to be the main issue players dislike that map.

So… tomes stuff are in virtues place or at least the 2nd and 3rd virtue.
basicly its a mellee weapon with a bit of extension to 400-(looks like less than 600range)
Maybe f2 and f3 will change the weapon skills, since in the traitline FB is using tome in right hand and torch in offhand.

i fear the new specs dont have place for pvp unless they will be power creep based…

Not really … your MMO mindset have to be stuck in the 90’t to think that way. Sorry, 2000’s as well. Progression isn’t just getting levels and better gear. The story of the game progresses constantly; that’s WAY more engaging than some busywork to get the next stat level on some gear. If you want busywork gear stat grinding, well, you have LOTS of choice but hopefully, NEVER in GW2.

Nice, people that invent text when reading other people text… i never said i wanted gear progeression and lvl’s…

Like i said before ascended gear was already to much, adding more would be even worse.. imo it woudl kill the game.

What i said is that the current class progression u have is buy the next traitline, it will have more damage than the older ones, will do somethiing that is mandatory for some new pve map, or even a easyer gimmick.

Its wrong as well…

I just hope it isnt a range axe weapon -.- with copy pasta necro spells on it but with a “guardian” theme ….

we already have the bow for range and the scepter…

this new spec could improve the scepter for range and the axe for melee range….

We already have sword, mace, hammer and greatsowrd for melee.

What we lack is a mid-range weapon with cleave, and axe seems to be it.

more cleave auto spam way for newbs…. thats what made gw2 pvp horrible at first place.

This post isn’t ment to be negative but more of a critic. The WvW needs to hear from you guys (Anet Devs) more often on the Subject of WvW not PvE or PvP. Just by giving us feedback whether its good or bad is what we need.

If we dont get any exciting news as far as wvwvw updates goes Myself and quite a few of my friends will be moving on to different games.

reward system is the next thing getting touched

Only if would split skills from pve and wvw that would go a long way.

The only way to do that in Anet eyes and brain is make WVW spvp alike with the trinket system as well, wich is no sense, that low set of stats would make power creep stacking even worse since most classes woudl end with less defense and less Hp.

In theory classes dont have to have skills for each mode, one skill if well coded can have its efects changed, its not like Anet says “we need to create another skill” even the radious can be setting on the same skill….

My thoughts are make the skill split with spvp to a point (wvw skills need to be more aoe aimed where spvp skills need to be more low aoe aimed) but keep gear as is. The trick is to re balances every thing when in wvw to be exotic level. This means you can have the best gear in wvw with out killing your self in pve and it leave room for adding in exotic level legendarily armor that can you swap on the fly and swap runes out (with out losing the old ones) and not infringes on the raiders armor tread mill.

I do understand your point but i dont agree with one point there, making everything more aoeish is a big mistake and it would incrase the server load and increase power creep and its very unskilled gameplay it will make who has more numbers to win faster.

Tho the AOE in this game could be better(improved) by making the basic atack skills w/o cleave, that would make AOE classes more valuable and by increasing the area of some spells(add blizzard to elementalist as well for chill similiar to metor), create a gameplay where more team effort was nedeed, if players would want to nuke an area they could not relly on auto cleaves but the aoe area spike casters, and i bet this would work for pvp pvp and wvw, the peoblem with this game is that is effortless, to spammy, and to flashy, so adding more aoe stuff would be a mistake if u dont take small part that makes is to much.
Anet could later make some speck that would increase elementalist aoe from 5 to 7 targets trait^^, players could bounce from a trait that would make more damage on some skills or increase the number of targets for example.

Still they dont design stuff witch clever sacrifices… some classes even need what they have to much to be playabale on pve… side….

Mounted capes? Best of both worlds.

the colision system cant handle that, Anet had to decrease the colision stuff, sicne it makes tha game more laggy.

Reason why we dont have capes, it would require colision with the armor and WvW sometimes is already unplayable, adding more the proccssing og all those collisons… with be very awfull.

Now on a more seious note, i dont think players will see a balance update for quite some time, and even if Anet throwed them they would be minimal.

dunno about that. They announced some major changes to sigils and some downtuning to passive sustain. Im really curious about that.

Since last “balance” patch was late february and Anet usually does those quarterly, id expect somewhere between end of may / start of june.

When did they announce that? I thought passives and conditions were Arena Nets baby which are never getting nerfed….

i would bet, the next changes will have zero impact on the game, toning a few values up or down will make less of a diference, if they dont do strong changes wher eits needed.

The more stuff one side has the less the camps produce, reduce camps from map, place constructions nodes where players need to build the reouseces camps and create several type of resources, players need to choose that kind of supply they want more.

shout supply camps, are places where enemies can build their supply camp on that map, wich needs supplies from other maps.
A guild or groups to atack enemy BL needs to create a campaing that will need to be accepted/checked from server, to avoid supply trolls, from a menu.

this could be challange and less ktrainy, it has structure and mechanics.

For one I don’t think anet should be looking to improve Spirit weapons because they are AI. No meta should ever rely on AI creatures (flashbacks to cancer turret spam).

Then they should redesign the spiritual weapons… and let players place them with the flags like we controlled the enchies or make them fully acompany the caster.

1 minute CD is way to much, they barelly live more than 1 hit…
the time it takes to use them on combat against another player its eneight to get from full health zero due how the game is based on power creep.

When asked in 2014 about gear tiers with stats above the Ascended/Legendary tier, then Game Director Colin Johanson said, “I hope not.” I echo that sentiment. Gear progression is a pointless exercise in busywork.

Stil the game lacks progression… besides buy the next traitline to keep competing more easilly.

Classes progress is in damage increase and more condis/boon spam.
They dont actually have a structured class progression trait*build sytem as well, all they have done is added skill that need to be grinded to preggress through maps.

Servers are going to get glicko locked in the wrong tiers and have completely kitten match ups until a couple weeks before they relink again. The 5-4-3 system combined with the 2 month server links just isn’t working…

That means Anet will continue to work wvw?
And player say they dont work on wvw….they are constantly changes the scores, cant u guys imagine how hard it is to hide what it is not working?

AngryBear.8741, because pve is what is wrong (its the true cancer of the game), and this mmo is for pople who dont like mmo’s…

If Pve its fine for Anet, any other of the game modes suffer if they have something broken that is being carried from pve.. patience just try to have fun or leech as much u can, cause ANet dont change stuff that comes from pve, as in the pve class desig plus the awfull balance decision.

Anet made classes with low effort design with pve gameplay only in mind, so they dont fit in a clever/decent pvp game, reason they prefered to remove trinkets than actually change the classes/build that could be better at pve and better at pvp, w/o being ot much, Anet love skilless metas, its their compromission of what its fun.
Its their game deisgn and decisions that made the game reach a lvl where everything looks ugly to fight being in spvp or wvw, even pve is horrible to watch, and that dont atrack players, since Anet wanted to make a easy game with strong gimmicks to carry its players.
They failled alot of stuff, i think they didnt even understand their initial manifesto.

At the end gw2 is a only pve game, where players would playit like if u buy a volume to contiue the history, where pvp was just added because gw1 had pvp…and a online game w/o pvp nowadays its nothing.

Btw metas here are placebos mostly.. but ill leave that for players to find out.

I dont think that is that complex to see that Anet murdered their pvp gamemodes with their “noobspam pve mentality”, the pvp dev’s could not do anything even if they wanted, there were a few teams blocking their progress for sure, and no matter what modes u would end adding to pvp it would not mate at the end r, the balance would be always very gimmickly unbalanced due Anet preference on not adjusting classes to pve and pvp, since it would means change the pve things and that is forbiden.

Anet pve mentality and game lack of game adjusting (the persons who do the game balance are most at fault to this state of gw2) killed the pvp.

The problem is not their damage alone…the problem is their sustain ALONG with their damage.

This applies to multiple classes, not just DH.

classes need those things since they are designed for pve.

do u imagine Anet do some slightly changes on a few class or the gameplay so the game gets way more decent in pvp? while they want the classes to look dumb and easy to play on pve?
nope they wont touch their precious pve

So the game is plagued by casuals who want to downgrade this game to a fashion contest. This actually quiet sad.

Actaully, the game was never more than this to begin with so to be fair, that’s not a downgrade at all. If anything Anet has stuck to their guns here and the game is better for it. If you want gear progression there is literally EVERY other game out there for that.

The best progression, in my opinion, is the player getting better at the game, not adding yet more powerful gear as a crutch to make the game easier.

Power creep in expansions can be a problem IMO.

that is how this game evolve… and that is what the class progressions system is, to make players feel necessity to buys the expansion, its not mechanics of the game and game improvements that makes people busy the expansion.

No, you do not need gear progression to keep the game interesting and new. That literally makes no sense. If you are fooled into believing that +10 stat gear feels new and interesting over +8 stat gear, then I don’t even understand why you even play MMO’s in the first place.

Furthermore, after 4+ years, no one in this game should be expecting gear progression … or want it.

i didnt said… that… i dont like gear progression as well… just stated that the game exchanged one thing for another…

gear progression is a outdated system, but gw2 class progression doesnt feel right as well..

when i dropepd pve was, still game hasnt improved much, based on gimmicks or dps race isnt much of a diference.

theres to much mindless spam compared with alot of mmo’s, even gw1 was a clever game in pve..

This pve “crap” is what the class needs, because right now, they have been reduced to tier 2 dps, with no support to offer. The class became as selfish as necro and thief.

pve crap = every one competes to be top dps and key spammer, not actually class design in roles,and evenif classes do that, it will more imbalance to add to pvp game modes since alot of builds dont sacrifice much due their nessecity to pleasure pve players.~

if Anet tryed to add roles with HoT specs they did a awfull job…

dont expect much, Anet have made SW from guardian trash lvl and never cared about to putting them to a decent gameplay, so bigger things are worse they will try to cover with freebies and rewards and weird gimmicks….
