ascended was already a mistake… so no more armor progression in term of stats increase.
btw Anet does gimmick rotation progression with expansion, that is what replaced the gear progression, u will need next dumb rotation builds.

The problem with doing anything is that it will upset a large portion of the wvw playerbase. The last time they did something big (Desert Borderlands) it killed off many wvw players. And if they did start listening to our ideas, who would they listen to? The roamers who want to punish all zerg play? The players who want condi removed? The K trainers who play for loot?
It seems the safest course of action for Anet is to do nothing.How about they actually play the game itself, maybe it’ll give them some idea and form their own opinion? Just maybe?
How about they play and learn themselves in game to see what effects to the players their respective changes had, instead of lurking in forum wondering forever who the vocal minority/majority/whatever nonsense are

So will traits doable effect things say you have -20% cdr to fire skills and -20% cdr to earth and your in earth/fire will you have -40%? Also will you get say stone hart going all the time say earth fire and Pyromancer’s Puissance all the time. I do not know this sounds like its going to be crazy op or its going to need a lot of locks on what atument doable stack can do. (How are these ppl game devs. i though you had to make good game making decisions to do this job?)
Images if your water earth stone hart and Soothing Power (i know its not the best but we are talking max tank here) how do you kill that? Or worst yet a fresh air with any type of on swap effect say air water endless heals and clears. There a LOT that can go wrong here.
They dont need to be actually good developers, just present random crap as “inovation and kewl looking”.
Its a pve game with classes designed only for pve, pvp gameplay will result in whathever devs feels a class needs to be OP for pve.

As well if they are inferior to the actual elite specs pve players will ramble alot due lack of east access to dps, and if they need more effort for that they will QQ alot.

I agree with Dadnir. Though the way I’d redesign them is make it so each skill gives you a chance on hit effect (and have the weapons appear by your side in smaller forms). So like sword could have 50% chance to inflict burning on hit, Hammer could do KD etc etc.
Hammer of Wisdom used to KB target every 3rd atack, dont know even if that was removed.
It still knocks back every 3rd attack. Though the trait that gives burning to spirit weapons (2s per hit), doesn’t actually give full duration for each hammer hit.
It doesnt matter a cleave on player that hits the SW will kill it so it will never hit or even it its its just one time
IF it was working Anet add to care about balance since it doesnt… they dont need to care lol… @Anet at balance not much to expect.

Well it will keep wvw skirts ktrains active, its funny they are changed in the reward system while the game has many other serious issues.
Anet its so inovative…. not really, 0/10 atm.
They might “fix” the game temporally but that is a matter of time until they do big poop again, gw2 has been 1 steps forward, 3 steps back all this 4 years.

In my view traps cause frustration to novice/average players because they
- can be concentrated around the same area (serious issue for an area domination objective based game),
- are automatically activated and
- have serious adverse effects if not avoided.The problem was a bit similar to engineer turrets in the past and the approach there was to make them utterly useless, essentially deleting them (and their accompanying elite skill) from the engineer toolset. Apparently the main thing that has saved DH traps so far from the nerf bat is that they belong to an elite spec, and therefore must remain “untouched” for the time being.
Sadly Turret Engineer was also a l2p issue. The Engineer was completely defenseless. As a power build, you were supposed to destroy the paper turrets and then proceed to wreck the defenseless Engi. As a condi build, you were supposed to condi bomb the completely helpless Engi directly. Sadly, condi users were trying to take out turrets and power glass cannons were running right into the fight without thinking and dying. The result, turrets became completely gutted.
Not sure what the hell people are doing in silver, bronze, and platinum, but I’m working my way up gold as a solo Necro and have no issues with Dragonhunters at all. I’ve played through many DH builds to understand how they work and what to look for, and had no easier of a time on DH than I do with most other classes. This is all whining for the sake of whining. Soon as DH gets nerfed to oblivion, all this whining will just shift to the next target.

point bunkering spec =/= of bunkering spec
bunker spec= build that via sustaint, thougnes or any other damage avoidance mechanic can soak a lot of damage
point bunkering spec= build that have a lot of area interdiction skills that make hard to stay in capture point
…that is more like point control trough area denial than point bunkering, wich could be translated as holding point with bunker speck.
The class that denies area for its targets, DH’s tend to be a slowpoke moving classes they do area denial and control.
The class that does point bunkering as in a class that fight/hold targets on point until he gets backup.

lol… the problem is that when game have to much spam area damage like cleaves and AOE they become ugly and broken, its a fact, go check the new warhammer and why people dont like it.
Another fact is how awfull Anet tend to be at game balance between pvp and pve in terms of skill and class design.
There also the power creep effect, that is due not the high damage builds alone but the fact u can stack in a area the cleaves from autos and autos tend to hurt quite a bit alone when they stacked it creates the power creep effect so it will be a victory based o who spams more harder and faster no much about player skill at the long game, the lack of decent aoe, since we have the cleave spam base of the gameplay not much aoe is needed, altough a better AOE and less cleave spam would make the game more enjoyable and playable and for sure much less laggy on the blob, there would be less ticks and more focused fire, more target calls, and other load of good things.
And sorry about the poors man english, it may sound a bit confuse to read :<
Im just asking for Anet remove cleaves form autos atacks that was to much for the game.
Meanwhile expect next exansion classes specs to have more boon s pam more condi spam more aoe/cleave spam… and more WvW lag.

You obviously aren’t a wvw player if you think that’s all its about. And yes, wvw will always be more challenging than anything pve could ever have. Fighting another player is always more engaging than fighting scripted AI that moves in a set pattern and doesn’t react or try to counter what you do. Roaming and GvG makes anything in pve a simple walk in the park. And that is something that can’t be debated, because its a fact. Fighting another player is ALWAYS more challenging than fighting AI, that’s not even something that can be disputed. We don’t refer to the mindless zerging when we talk about challenges in wvw. mindless zerging exists in both pve and wvw and takes no skill in either mode.
Fighting other players who all run the most cancerous cookie-cutter cheese builds, yeah, because that’s a lot different than scripted AI, run around WvW and tell me how many, “Different” builds you see, please. Just because there is a player behind it doesn’t change the fact that it’s the same skills/spells used in order.
Well those cookie-cutter cheese builds is towards bad players who really need those, still its logical to assume good players will use them as well, gw2 ment to make bad players look good reason they dont care about balance, its a game for all.
Still if balance the classes means chenge on how they behave in pve, its a no go, Anet prefers to make them super strong in pvp even if they are a bit broken or something is wrong with the gameplay due pve design and classes beign designed for pvp creates a secondary efect while usign them on pvp, they dont change it,
Diversity is totally possible…
Large scale zerg & small scale sPvP play-style can naturally co-exist in a diverse WvW ecosystem.
It’s a very simple solution to fix WvW.
We just need to re-purpose existing game mechanics…imho.

If means change Anet wont do it, or hardly do it, they will just change a few vallues on some parts of the game to hide a bit the problem.
A possible fix to the stale meta would be to re-introduce build diversity. But Anet is holding fast to the “players must use an elite spec with this exact grandmaster trait and amulet to play this profession” policy

As that most of the pve we see today was not there when the game first came out and espots was every thing at the time (5 years ago) it was pvp only all that was the main selling point of gw2. Its also the reason why there was no treadmill for gear in the game too. Ppl seem to forgot what GW2 was to be when it first came out. An OPEN do what you want game with out needing to min and max gear or min and max players. It was for FUN.
The game had so much potential when was released,…..
My expectation will be that wvw going downhill further next expansion. I’m sure Anet won’t let me down on this.

it is the fault of the community that gw2 is going to die, because you all asked for more skill based gameplay, but you forgot about the beginners, so no beginner will have fun in wvw or pvp anymore since bunker meta is gone, mm and turret engineer is nerfed. Players will stop playing and new players will stay in pvE.
So the community wanted wvw and pvp to die and I warned about it a few years ago. Just bring easy to play builds back that every beginner can master and will be able to sustain to even experienced pvp players, maybe then beginners will start and stay to play competitive again, else game will be dead very soon. And remove gear advantage in wvw exotic should be the best gear available in wvw.
But it will never happen, so I will continue killing beginners straight away from spawn, until you all realize how stupid you were when you asked this game to be more skill based.
I assume you blame the pve community, because wvw players didn’t ask for traits to be overhauled yet again, they didn’t ask for stability to be nerfed to uselessness, they didn’t ask for conditions to blow up people, they didn’t ask for elite specs to be overpowered than vanilla.
They asked for skilled gameplay and were given passive spam boons spam conditions gameplay instead.
That is what Anet from gw2 think it is a skilled gameplay… and it will get worse with more aoe spams form the next expansion… this guys were warned before hot with the lack of balance, and they went all kittened on class design necessary for the HoT pve .
Not much can be expectec from the actual Anet quality they cant even pamange to find a midleground between pvp/pve class desigm if skills were designed for pvp gameplay they would fit nice on pve as well since pve would be buited on top of those skills.

my idea of perfect WvW is soemthign that goes in oposite direction form what Anet thinks a game is.
-I would love a game that players would had to atack other players structure
-I would love a game that didnt lag to the broken aoe/cleave spam to carry bad players, and enforceing pve crap class designs.
-I would love a game where players didnt get rewards by just spamming 111111 and atack empty structures.
Meanwhile ic Anet increasing the rewards by capign structures…. to shut up most players, and call it a QoL patch, so players can keep farmign towers and keeps.
^This is the quality of dev’s and what i believe Anet is all about.
4years game, looks like it didnt have patch besides addition of broken and dull to play elite specs.

They don’t do much in a match, but the very few things they do, they do far too well, which makes it really hard to balance. Decapping and skill spam are the only thing they can do.
Control a point and want to waste people’s time? run condi 3 spammer
Enemy downed in a teamfight? run vault spammer and punish anyone who wants to cleave/res the stationary downed player.
See the enemy rotate off of their close to help mid? Use your infinite mobility to decap and then just leave when you see someone coming.
These are pretty much the only 3 things thief can do though….
If you took away the damage, who in their right mind would play one? I honestly don’t know if thief CAN be balanced because they just do not fit into the GW2 theme at all, they feel like they are from a different game…
Actually classes migth be more balance than many think, the problem is Anet enforcing the crap aoe/cleave spamgame from pvenuublandia tha tmade pvp even hugly to watch on streams.
Cleaves from auto atack need to be removed gamewide, it is what is making the powercreep most of time, players clash end every one cleaves will splash damage every one.
Sometimes a thief cant get to mcuh closer to enforce is damage on targets couse he will melt to the present cleave spam on the arround its ally….
The game needs to be more similiar to gw1 pvp, it needs to be more team know how on offense and defense….but since it requires more effort from players every one see it as a bad thing…. it requires more effort..

How to save WvW is, removing WvW and make all PvE maps PK zones. Every map that has a WP with a “structure/build” a node…your ppt for the ppters
Anet is against that kind of gameplay.

@Op it makes more sense to remove a towers arround SMC and give more defensive layers to keeps than remove SMC.

Reduce the barriers duration to 3s and cut the damage by 20%.People still get caught by Dragon’s Maw? smh

they could salvage the the map and produce a new one by shaving the DBL, but the problem is that players that dont want the DBL map are mostly ktrainers that dont say anything construtive, couse alpine map is easier to farm and very low effort map, and u can hide your butts in a recently capped tower if u dont want to fight, in DBL (offcourse it as issues) is as much empty as alpina map is, players cant hide their buuts.
The issue with map layout + lack of game mechanics, the map is to good for a empty structured game like gw2….
still i would remove fire keep to something more plane, and make spawn and central keep more central towards the central oasis….withc a large deset arround the fire keep zone more open field fight right?

I rarely had issues with sword/Gs its what i use on my warrior.
yes you can say that you can avoid traps thats understood but if the group is focused elsewhere a dragon hunter can fry people in matter of seconds and it doesnt need any skill at all.
its not ok to go to a point put a trap and kill everyone because they didnt see you or they where fighting someone else and used their cooldowns.
at least nerf the damage to half.
game is about gimmicks, play a better gimmick….
Still medi trapper is the only was guardian have to play against decent players, Anet had to had a dumb gimmick to guardian to be in pair with other classes spam to win.

Mrs, McKenna Berdrow, u migth not answer this for several reason but i have to ask this:
Is it possible and feasable to tweak/edit the BDL, by scrapping it and use it to build a new BL instead of remove it?
-Remove the firekeep, make a plain area similiar to bay(remove oasis to fire keep zone)
-move spawn and central keep more to the center
-add a north structure called the Charr Factory, new blueprint to contruct a charr panza or the actual vehicle as a bluerint and work like a golem
instead of the awfull and clunky transmogriffers… (this is just an example to make structure desirable for the tech and rewards)
can we have some information what is defined to WvW if there will be 3 bl’s or game will the 3 bl’s equal?
Dont forget that players that want all bl’s equal knowing Alpine is empty as much DBL is, those players want a low effort ktrain on their timezone blob vs empty maps that are fast to capture or run away to a captured close strucutre to avoid most of times onpen field, wich is actually what WvW has become.
meanwhle and again… remove the transmogriffers for the mini RC car in WvW… they are clunky and a deception.

Alpine BL is empty as well, its just faster to ktrain reason players sayt its a very good BL.
Does that means both maps need to be tweaked or removed since both are empty?

I can think of several reason people dont like DBL being one if they are atacked while taking stuff they cant hide back in a tower or keep and are forced to fight on open field so much for players sayign were are wvw we want open field… still map is very dull wich poor defendable mechanics, huge keeps for ta game that doesnt allow that many players for its size,, 60playersX3 and the home crew gets devided in a game with no mechanics all that matters is aoe.. well somethign is weird but we all know Anet made it to be redudanct and easy..
Players(i find this mostly on this game) want low effort hight reward, the facts they present to end their effort on BDL are just words like “crap” and “remove” none saysing anything of interest or some review, where Anet can actually read and make an analisys on the BL for improvements.
Still it does not mean map is fine for this game,l but that is the WVW state overall it lacks mechanics and a backbone structure.

Learn to use the map… and the true is that DBL is and excellent map, the main problem is that the map is to good even for this featureless game with alot of placebos.
