You also, as a 1k toughness, thief decided to shadowstep out of the dragon’s maw past Test of Faith, not once but TWICE. You deserved to die.
Guard has lots of passive damage absorption and base health pool. So you are going to need to do more to melt a DH with impairing daggers and 1 backstab. DH will destroy any Thief in a 1v1 with the right skills. Like a lot of people in this thread said, “You have no business attacking DHs as a thief.”

@OP theres still some DH’s that are runing shouts go farm those guys ^^ u can kill e/o effort since they cant do nothing.
(They wont change nothing besides, some numbers in the code as ppt, ppk, besides clueless in what to do even if they knew what to change they dont have the power for that.)
They need to end ppt, ppk, score system, besides making pve classes spam “complexity” overstacking spam is also nail in a pvp structure game, some skill need rules when in a pvp oriented map that would help to reduce the lag skill…for a start.
Redesign wvw…. to something simple, that can be tweaked and improved.

I’d answer but I don’t even know what is required for a WvW daily.
And you probably finish them most days without even looking but just by playing.

But that would make the game harder for alot of gammers, and gw2 is ment to be very easy for every one, wihc is the reason they cant fix what is making game lag, i bet if they reduce alot of the spamm even the balance would be better.

I used to love this game with a passion up until hot release. The game went a completely different direction some loved some hated. Truth is we just need to wait for next expansion and see what we get. I just hope they stop wasting time on raids for such a small player base. Anyone who actually plays this game for raids is simply wrong because if you like raids you should be playing WoW or ff14. We need better content for people who left those games or don’t play those games to not have the companies dedication going three
Totally agree, GW2 wasn’t WOW and the like BECAUSE it didn’t have a ‘raid community’ to which the devs had to pander, sadly HoT changed that for the worse.

i dropped pvp long time ago, dropped WvW 1 month ago, and pondering to drop t pve as well atm even grin d in gw2 is top notch in boredomness, at least in some mmo’s i do have fun while grinding… here its boring.
Guess ill be waiting for a decent mmo to come with that is not “only graphics” like gw2 is…
maybe you should go back and do pve so the fights are easier
The whole game is easy its all a matter of select best rotations build and learn towards or when to use it it not much team effort is even needed in this game…. just need to practice to play in a certain way while using X build… pitty that gw1 is dead and no one is playing pvp or gvg’s even Anet stopped the ladder in the december 2016
i would return to that game.
Gw1 was an amazing pvp experience for all, but gw2 is ment for mmo newbs… and its boring.

Anet should reduce the AA cleaves to single target and reduce most of the AOE to cleave(3 targets) some of aplyers and in the AA’s.
Wich Anet could do this if really gets the game smoother amd meanwhile make the game less spammy and make player need to know what htey have to atack instead of spam 1 keys and smash AOE relatated keys.
Still i guess the requirements that are needed to improve(as in reduce lag and the mindless overallspam) WvW do not belong to Anet idea of what the game is..
Expet more conditions, more cleave, more aoe, into next expantion, WvW will get worse with more tick being calculated server side.
Some gw1 skins or skin packs would be nice, Shiro daggers and clothes, Turai armor, Varesh etc ^^ , i would ask for nika armor but thiefs nowadays look like ghosts so no one would notice the armor >:}

I think Gw2 never had a identity to start with or rapidly vanished after launch, theres to much randomness overall, made the game loose alot.
Pve is kinda nice but to much spammy, pvp is poor, and the WvW/EOTM is nothing than redundancy cap empty sdtructures wich cant be even considerated something.
This is how the majority of people complaining about Ghost Thieves react to being attacked. Keep AA spamming and don’t try to cleanse on the first sign of Condi Burst….

if that is an hacker he is awfull… ive seen higher values…and u cant report “cheaters” , 1st Anet cant gather many info on them or will temporary ban them, second the build are almost hard to distinguish and ive seen even players with making my block(shelter) trigger 5-7k confusion per blocked hit during those 2 seconds, wich means a loose-loose situation, alot of thing in the game are easilly exploitable even w/o third party tools.
Still Its hard to know for the target if the ghost thief is hacking or not.
thief needs to be adressed to be something usefull besides stealth rezzer or dumb troll WvW gimmick..

Whether it’s a new character stat, or a current character stat, there should be a stat that provides condi damage mitigation that players can build for.

to late now.. and gw2 is about op gimmick vs op gimmick to nnully each other, its balanced? no.. but makes the game easier for alot of keyboard smasher.
Still, if they cant “balance” the game normally withthis poor and basic stats mechanics, the game would be even worse state with more stats….
ktrain happens as well on APL :\ WvW doest hold any kind of strong gameplay structure its just like Gw1 AB, just cap shrines w/o defender and move to next.
Since i dont care about metas or rewards or even gw2 dumb pvp i might play pvp with a burn SW guard, i think it will be great to see my team mates panicking and quitting matches.

warrior atm, played to much time with my guardian over this years and i fill that at the momment im forced to play guardian, in a way that i dont like, that is trap noober or GTFO so i decided to focus on warrior and revenant.
warrior without “Hot builds for noobs” (HoT specs) feels right, atm missing the shield domes from my guardian, but gainned several other stuff in exchange of that.
Berzerker feels like the same has play with a burn guard achieve 5k-10k easilly and kill most players in just few seconds since its easy to burn their condi clears… i dont like to feel carried as well, so master lameness with bzerker is out of question.
Vanilla warrior is my new main toon, pondering atm if i shall delete the guardian or not, since i can only focus in one class/character at a time and if i will convert my guardian to s full spirit weapon build… wich playing with SW is useless since how broken they are due the way they were being programmed…

its their way to say stealth is balanced across the game so take this potato and stop complain about something we belive it is fine or we cant touch it because we dont want to spend time or reources fixing thief+stealth.

and OP… warrior has passive speed increase by carying melee weapons, plus several gap closers, and more or equal speed boon has guardian has (at least we have several sources of it, and boon duration sometimes is equal or more than the skill CD).

~boon steal and basilisk on a ghost is a win win , i think its the only issue, plus if target is dazed after boon removal he is dead no matter what class he plays.
btw tthief traps are 20seconds CD the time that u guys say that thief trapper is a one trick pony isnt even true, cause he will mantain strealthed and wont be hit, another thing is even if thief gets hit while stealthed, he wont be revealed.
And not all classes have contition removers like ful condition remover deidicated guard has…wich cant be easilly killed has well.
I agree. TW, lame transfer wolves ran 20+ ghost thieves tonight and just trolled our map blob. No skill build.

Making everything boons was already a Anet mistake they need to bring back what gw1 had good.

Thats all a good post and good info, but their solution led to several worry state of the game mechanics.
Ic it has they burned themselves….to adress the game to a certain type of players instead, the players that accept anything they do if theres easy rewards (wich thends to end in those people saying rewards are hard to get).
This game is mostly about pve, even classes were designed to pve only, and they do a strange balance called metas over time to well… kinda adress it in a slacker way, since they tend to shutdown one gameplay for another.
Its complex, yes it is, but the base or core is not set or not stable eneught and tends to be devianated from a certain path wich imo is what happened every time, what they do to close on issue open other several issue, instead of focus in a simple and clean solution at long term that will open path for more easy improvements later they suearch for a temporary solutions that will ocupy them more than anything else.
Sometimes the best solution is the easiest to implement not the harder one, a good solutions is something that is easier to do and its elegament at the same time.
4years have passed and we still discuss what we were discussing 4years ago, and for the looks of it what is wrong it will even worse with the next game aditions, it will more of the same that HoT added, and everything will start from the beggining.
I think Anet needs to stop a little bit put the papers on the table and see what can be done, and tweak in a simple way so their balance patch arent a disgrace most of the time..
This game is a fork from its previous engine i believe some stuff could be re-dezigned(as in re-introduced/re-used) with what we already have from gw2.

@Justine.6351, i dont know!? if u guys were talking about builds i think i did not miss the point since i dont see why players are the lame ones, that is a thing that is totally towards devs to control, playuers just tend to follow the mentaliity devs transmit to the game, its a like “a quid pro quo behavior” if we can call it this way ._. , devs take a action and players will absorv it and want more of that wich will generate more unbalance and harder gameplay to balance in pvp gameplay.
Still i do think gw2 playerbase is very lame and how they want to perform but once again gw2 was designed with that intent.

@mordran.4750, issues is that Anet design conditions to be played on offensive, while conditions should or could be used in defense as well, but that is fault to conditions design choosed by Anet, they lack balance when overstacked in some situations, and they dont provide much clever gameplay, its all about cast all skills for condi(damage) stacking has fast as u can re-aply them.
This is actually what Anet made them to work in pve, wich translates ºto WvW mechanics as well.
While necromancer could be designed easilly to use them as in defense as well, but game is towards 11111 spam gameplay for dumb gammers.
funny most if not all conditions are more towards damage stacking than strong side effects 
Wonder if Anet could change how some conditions work at this time… less based on damage and more based on strong effects….some conditions could even have very strong effects when overstacked.
I think i could propose something arround it.. that even would result on Epidemic being increase to 10 players :} and be balance towards players skill due the conditions effect pressure.
But it would be a losst of time writting some QoL opinion as requests to (try to)increase balance in all gamemodes, but if feel Anet game designs is lost to dumb damage spam and they dont want to change what is mostly damaging the game.

doubt it, players want zerker guardians with hammer to facetank/bunker mobs in teams altough if u play alone anything works if u go arround pvt or marauder stats for mace shield, healign stats is great for low number player events if people s dying alot but damage output is all that matters.
Still with mace shield in full PVT gear i had problems in some zones(mostly LS stuff) since i could not damage the mobs, and had to request help of one or t zerker pve players, since i refuse to play with traps.
IMO if i hever play with my guardian again i think i will play a fiery/condi stats one with SW on pve…scepter+shield.

In all seriousness, this is the many of mistakes anet is making. Catering to loot hungry mmo players. When the next mmo’s come out watch the continue migration as gw2 loses more players.
That actually makes sense, Gw2 is about a pve ONLY game, skrits love shinny loot. :} now plz stack and go farm a few empty towers and keeps.
Even the game classes were designed with pve only in mind why would they should balance what is working well?

Its normal, part of the game, even when outmaned when enemy zerg passes nearby lags alot of players in that zone.
Such notions do not work. WvW would be vastly better if the player base wasn’t so lame yet people decide to blame the devs for player behavior.
if they give the tools to be lame it isnt the players fault, its the devs that favour lame behavior since they know it will atrack players that accept everythign even poor care in balance if they will be allowed to play lame and dumb stuff.

on my soldier stats guard i usually used SW SoA between the druid and the range scales pet, so the pet was 80% not doing damage, still not one could kill each other…since i was using mace and due its nature low damage + slowpoke movement when retreat was in CD.
just nerf it in WvW only, epi is one of the few saving graces of necro in pve…
it is wrong to nerft it even on wvw… reduce the number of players affected?
While epidemic itention is affect a larger number of nearby foes, it does not make sense.
and btw… its already on 5 targets… !? u cant reduce more IMO it should be increased if game was well balanced or well designed.
OR epidemic could aply a effect where that player cant be effected by another epidemic in the next 5-8 seconds, each epidemic after would spead one randon conditions from that target but would remove that condi that was beign sreaded.

If everyone is covered for condi cleanse, then conditions will never build up enough to get a good epidemic off of. Its when you get the likes of revenants using pain absorption and pugs that are out of position and go down, making easy condition stacking targets, just ripe for epidemic.

On that note, if they did nerf condi application, what would be used to counter the current tank meta? Power is virtually useless when everyone is running full tank + damage reduction food, perma protection, and rite of the great dwarf.

The tank meta exist due how everything in this game is AOE/cleave based ( design to make players so dumb they dont need much gamming skills to be efficient wich is wrong in a pvp concept and why this game failed so much in pvp/ eletronic skritage league note some are actually very decent players not my itention to offend players but to offend the game design), its is easy to stack stuff i guess at the end it is similiar to the condi aplying since there no midleground of balance its all about reach extremes of one or another, there isnt balance nor meta designed towards balance, build to what makes player leech better.
The only things that they would have to change would be to make game more towards single targeted skills castings like gw1 was in both offense and defense there are quite some skills that when overstacked in defense or offense are to much to be called a decent gameplay.
Still i bet alot of skits would QQ since theyr overrstackign meta would be compromised, but the game would be much more about 1 to 1 , know wich player u need to atack instead smash aoe skills because driver say so etc..
One other solutions would be adapting the skills to this overstacking gameplay.
The nature of game unbalance might be on the aoe/cleave and overstacking, one thing for sure, fights in gw2 are awfull even to observe…

if protection would become as title says every other Invulnerability skills would be removed from game.
list of skills that aply Invulnerability, all that u have is to cast the skill before being target of a condi spike, or use it when ur being condi spiked to tr to avoid get many stacks, at least make a possible epi weaker or ask for imediate cleansings (this is good in theory but in the field it wont work well due power creep raw damage stacked with condis and loads of AOE and cleaves).

the issue that some skills look to much is due the power creep Anet adopted from pve.
Some skills should do less % against player characters, as a condition met in the same skill instead of make copyes of several skills.

what I was trying to say is that balancing for hours played does not create equal populations.
And it will never be.
All that matters is that the lowest population server in the match have the right numbers to avoid getting ktrained (compared with the high populations server in that match at that time) and at least defend some fo its PPT.
Pupulation variables are to inconsistent to be the main factor, they change to much every day every week.
Lets see how it goes at the long run and see what will happen to server stackers and jumpers.

Usually has a shout guard the first thing i do when someone is getting that much condis is start using my shouts + trooper runes, but sometimes even if target is near me or in squad party it isnt afted by them :\
Sounds to me like a lot of you people are running around like chickens with your heads cut off. Get in an organized group. Join a guild. Run proper group comp. Epi and condis do nothing. I never have a condition on me for more than one or two seconds.
On the other hand, resistance is OP. I don’t understand why anyone is running condi in large scale combat unless they’re facing a total pug group on EB or just a terrible guild.
Not every one is a chicken hidden a low effort gimmick blob following a driver or play in a server with that many players.
