If u leave siege on field its your own fault XD
The issue is taking over defensive siege over enemy siege while enemy is far less in numbers…. since it is easy to take structures (ok.. needs some time and commitment).

Actually it only take 2 power ranger :}

power ranger hits arround 2-3k(i had some 4k crits in the past ) on heavys wiht 3.5k armor+protection, its isnt hard to pressure a commander down.

And sniping commandders it is all fine…. even onw wars getting the enemy comamnder could stop the enemy its a natural thing.

Range damage migh need to be reduced and aoe spam the same, so we can use skills on reset nights, lag is still way to much… when one side can use skills and the other dont, and our healing skills is on looooaaaadddiinnnngg…. wait for it wait for it…

- Bunker/ bruiser , boon share, safe stomp, condi cleanse, point control, can be bursty.

lmao bunker that dies in 1 – 3 hits from my bzerker… if the bunker guard dont have a decent team.

Good bunkers are classes that can get HP up fast, guardian after burn its blocks cant do nothing, and unblockables are nasty, its a class that gets carried by teamates, i think there are far better options in the offensive field for the guardian.

They wont modernize, that means change pve to something where players need effort as well… And gw2 was designed to be a dull and easy game.

This game is for players who dont like effort overall, sadly this is the most modernized version we migh see of gw2, and its simple, they wont do any of that, on future releases will be a add more aoe stuff, spammable and keep pressing 11111111.
Anet will keep carrying its players due damage and not trough “clever gameplay”.

Gw2 needs to be more similiar to Gw1 when were talking about skills and team gameplay.

(EDIT)They will hide the zergs and lag, trough servers pairing to make servers that fight in the same period of the day to not fight each other or at least try, that would be a lag fest due its aoe spam due brainless turtling as well.
They have been workign in placebos… its is disgustfull…

-Game cant handle that many players spamming aoe skills, it cant hold what we have now, so increase the aoe is out of question.
-Anet have tweaked WvW to make server have diferent ktrain shedules so each one has its ktrain time and less lag.
-Anet cant increase aoe number of skills since game is all about aoe spam already, they need to save the more lagg adition for furter releases.

That would make the game more noobish than already is….

apharma.3741, all these 4 years playing this game, i always felt that Anet love skill overperfomancing, and only change if theres alot of uproar, since while players play with those skill and be a bit carried they dont play other game (and that is what gw2 is mostly, find what is over performing to grind/garm titles and shinies).

Classes are desdigned for pve only, they are ment to have over perform in some skills.

Fix the lag first. helps when the rams actually can hit the gate.

Only way for Anet to adress that is reduce the number ofplaeyrs in WVW… while they keep increase server load with more aoe/cleaves/condis ticks.

Guard is decent with trap medi utilities(only utilities that work so ur forced to play with those utilities in any part of the game), and since pve mobs arent that hard get stats for full damage and use a hammer nothing special…hammer 1 everything.

Still imo if i would be starting now and know what i know of the game i would make a Warrior or Revenant for the long run.

Walls on inner SM, i would not like that, it it would make smc easy ktrainable, besides every side is always trbbing smc walls, so that would make SMC like a tower w/o…. would make smc cap more easilly than it is… since every is one massive blob, cap it fast when other blob is ktraining a empty map…

Altough if was impossible to stop the “hide and treb tower to castle” as it is, that would make more people going to open field siege and probably that would make sense add those wall to SM still game would have to loose the gimmick of 3 sides be able to treb walls, and smc would have to loose the same option to treb the closest towers.
That might create more open field fights.

I like your bloodlust ideas, still the outmaned “debuff” could add more chance % of close bloodlust merc camp be trigered.

What if SMC could be changed to a babel tower with several inner gates and walls as well with lord in top?

-One tower that i would like to get fixed is jerifer tower, it is possible to get that tower in a very very lame way…. no siege from keep or from the tower can hit the offensive siege in that place.

->Mendon could get more near the camp, at least would hold strategic position for that camp?
Somewhere near the cliff close to that camp?

About the Grub, it would be entertaining to see the worm poping up from the ground at any yellow swords XD like the wurms from dune.. and the ones from GW1, still eb map woud not be a good map for it, if only desert map… had more deser and less empty space under it…

Its like to add something more easy cap some stuff need to become more harder/effort to cap.

One player should not be able to disrupt an entire server this easily and certainly not easily disrupt a keep that takes hours to upgrade.

At the very least a thief should have to kill a guard…. the very least.

As for the class, it is nigh unkillable if it is built to not-die. It may suck at killing players but it won’t go down easily or at all. Also if a server does kill a thief, it can be back contesting in less than 2 min.

Meanwhile yesterday SMC swords poped up after we got down outside gates down and inner gates were @50ish….

Ktrain tournaments, a tournament how the game is atm? for what..?

i never saw a tournament in the past 2½ years I have played, but with the current scoring system, you cant win with just ktrain anyways if other 2 servers are fighting.

For my experience, what ic most is the 2 biggest atacking the smallest so they can get the highest scores, and theres a few issues on taking some places trough bugs that never got fixed.
And the coverage is what makes servers win, players will overstack on the servers where OCX players are mostly, so they can get a 24/7 ktrain try.
On the last tournaments the server where i am had commanders doing 8-12h+ shifts so we can have commanders on WvW, it was nuts, i guess arround 90% of those players no longer play.

I dont mind with tournaments and that would be a good time to add the siege wallet, but like i said how lame the game is ATM… no.

(edit) And if u noticed most fights is bigger server vs smaller vs smallest, where even the player peak time does not happen at same time, so every server can have their ego boost ktrain.
Glicko and links should make servers with “players time peak” fight each others so population diferense is shorter, if Anet wants to continue with this broken setup that would be the best solution, besides siege game are ment to have some population imbalance.

However, making it possible to target allies with support/defensive buffs would add another dimension of skill. I miss this from GW1.

However, what the OP said is different, read the tittle: GW2 PvP doesn’t require enough skill to play .

That would make the game to hard for the gw2 playerbase target/audience…. if u guys notice that goes against the gw2 ideal of how it was initially designed, it is a game where players dont need to be good (to be good skirts) at playing game, they took all that made gw1 a very very decent game as an objective to make a game where player just need buildX to be effective most of the time.
This gameplay is here to stay that is what gw2 is about… yeah it sucks…and its ugly to watch.

Still migh not be the issue…the damage classes do.
Issue with brun, condis, whatever is the aoe+range+cleave that are way to easy to be spammed, theres to much spam where should be more a single target game and some classes more specialized to aoe(necro/elementalist), it would require more team play more spike effort and less smash keyboard, less players complayning, since even auto atacks, are cleaves, and some even aply condition easilly that are easy overstack.
IF game would have been more single target classes migh even behave more balanced…with the actually balance, and probably pvp and wbw would have much better fight without all the lag…less calculations server side, and i bet alot of underused skill would become more uselefull and more skill variety will make game way more fun.

Classes were disigned to carry players in pve trough some aoe/cleave spam, and that is what is making pvp very bad at this game.

if i recall Anet reduced the initial heal form mace AA, but increased the stat contribution, maybe needs a higher base value with the actual stat contribution.
Chrury.4627 I would not mind with that, still needs to affect simbol regen its darn to slow to cast for its contribution.

One tweak could be distribute mace healing over the chain AA, increasing the healing output for allies from the guardian Justice, it feels that justice could play a good role also not only for burn.

Should the guild that owns structure have a very short CD and longer usage of the waypoint when structure is contested??

What is the point of a guild to actually defend structures providing more warfare gameplay besides ktrain redundancy, does the game lacks integrity?

Would this force to players to group more, or scatter them across several structures more?

@Tongku.5326, i think i could not live with the 25% reduction on walls, that would make players to stack even more since it would be more easy and faster to get strucures down, as i am in a small server it would not be a good thing, i think would be much harder to defend, we dont even have players to refresh siege…

People talk about war If they are the most op class ingame

issue migh be bzerker, that dont sacrifice much for its damage, still that is not a warrior/bzerker issue, its just how the game works.

example: As a bunker guard(Wvw context) facing some classes i cant damage them, and they hit me like a truck, im forced to play very nooby(as in most carried by traps making hostile get back),if i use shouts well i can do much has delay 6-8 seconds and bursted if bzerker hit me with its combo, after burn blocks or force warrior to use the unblokcable skill when i use aegis skills based, thus need to dodge wich means burn a a block and dodge, to avoid geting 60-70% of health down.
Its not even the aspect of blocks that defends me, since i need to save/force the usage of some specific skills, it is the traps that do my defense(offensivly) mostly since target will not rush to me as a free kill…

What makes some classes feel OP when fighitng against them might be the poor care that ANet had by creating and balancing classes, making the principal balance towards class for PVE and then throw them to pvp, and some classes ended getting best use of stats at defense and offense, since they were BALANCED to fight A.I mobs, while some others ended with gameplay that poorly fits lots of pvp/wvw gameplay.

Imo ic it as a more serious problem then has if some class had some broken skill…

It doesn’t matter how I play it I’m not good with the class and I still win. And with the class I think I’m good with and I enjoy playing I lose all my games. That’s the point!

Since damage output creep makes wonders in this game, maybe ur being carried, alot of builds are about that, burst in oportunity windows, within good timming u can win against lots of players, this is not only for DH’s.

The defensiveness of a guardian/Dh is pretty easy to beat, well if u know how the class works.

Its been going on over time its not an all at once thing. The next update to wvw is the point change to 5 4 3.

No ideal there is an explanation of the thinking behind it.

Found the post, it looks like theres a visual placebo with the scores value from 3,2,1…what? and also looks like they can glicko manipulate with those values… for experience i feel it wont solver a thing in this game….. ppt values are not the real issue of WvW… its a result of several things that not work properly.

This is assuming play style remains identical to how it was when 3,2,1 was in play. Player behavior may change since the scores will be closer, but we aren’t sure if they will. We weren’t sure if it would change WvW play style, but players seemed generally interested in giving it a shot and one of the reasons WvW is a 3 team gamemode, rather than a 2 team gamemode, is so that worlds could team up and try to take down the dominate world. This isn’t something we incentivized very much before 2,1,1 but having 2v1s in WvW was intended behavior and when it works correctly can lead to more balanced matches.

ive been in situation mace auto chain heals 900-1k, i really feel rewarded when that happens and that am contributing, blocks heal close to 2k, but that is rare, since i need to get close to target that only play aoe spike builds, and that means ill get hard CC pulled by DH’s and rekt if i get in melee.
Maybe because i play against server that run very gimmick builds mostly and im still using shouts most of the time :\.

Huskyboy.1053, mace aegis on mace 3 did give a great boost, still the risk reward of how the weapon works to increase healing and armor could get boosted.
Or as u say, since mace dont do much damage and is more oriented towards defensive, they could increase the AA, it would be far from OP buffing it.
Most times in fight i dont reach the 3 aa chain, im to busy getting in melee range and bursting targets with burn burst rotations or traps…

GrahamW.5397, mace AA chain 3rd skill, wont heal even with a healing power build due its slow speed and low damage and how easy is to kill a players with damage output builds, since u will sacrifice alot of HP for a build that will get 1shoted with 10-12k hp,i dont see how those 2 skills (mace auto and simbol) are a threat even suport since if ur not playing for damage u will not be a threat, and that build barelly can give support.

Figthign some builds u cant damage them with mace and its a slow weapon, nor the surviability is eneught to survive, all u can do is dodge block and hope some one to turn match to a 2 vs 1 on the point.

In WvW is no diferent, the only ways ive been hable to kill or even hold 3 thiefs for quit alot before i had backup was just because i was being carried by traps even with some nomad gear.
healing trap was healing me arround 14-15k hp.

Apolo.5942 its not a stats issue, its skill quoficients that could be changed, its a poor balance on sacrifice, you burst and get bursted back.

Forced to have high damage to melt targets faster than they melt you.
Forced to have gap closers to counter ranged classes.
Forced to have aoe gimmicks spam rotations.

Range is ment to do high damage since most classes have high damage gimmicks as well.

You cant have high damage, high mobility, high disengage all in one, that is the reason there is no point in going melee. Ranged classes should have no access to +25% move speed period.

And i agree, but classes are designed for pve and then put in a pit to fight, what devs feel about class behavior is not towards balance and sacrifice or one thing for another, its about what they feel the class should be played.
Besides alot of classes have alot of mobility imo…

i think mace AA and mace 2 migh be the skills i use less in spvp, the skills at least the simbol could get a casting tweak :\
Sometimes just use the mace simbol to see if target burns a dodge sometimes works, sometimes not.
And i dont play healing stats as well (nobody does)… that would be a auto suicide build.

You didn’t answer me seriously so I’m not even going to bother with you.

you are new here, my bad i was to direct with my response, but you will learn.

Guardian is a damage gimmick class that has some defensive skills, it is not a viable option has u described, what u asked is the role or Warriors/bzerker and Ravenants.
Even for PVE (wich i dont play) the best option u have for damage and tank is hammer with full dps stats, since hammer auto atack 3rd skill aplyes protection in aoe, utilities come and go depending the situation, reflect, traps for more damage etc, but in pve anything works its a matter of doing stuff faster or slower due build optimizations to counter mobs.

And no im not a forum troll, if u think guardian is a class that u can do all of that its u that migh be trolling or hoping to much of this class, Warrior is even a true APC compared with guardian, due its passive regen and high vitality, still warrior in glass armors is sturdier than a guardian and has more direct damage skills.

you will understand the signature when u have learned what works toplay and what does not work even in pve…

And btw u should have asked first before why i was stating other classes instead of acusing some of trolling since this game dont even have tanks, also those guardian healing builds only work in some places.

@Jayne, actually that happens alot for smaller servers that Anet put facing against much bigger servers, some servers are under that pressure 24/7 over the week and this is when that smaller server has its big peak of population, ( the actual scrore hides alot how some servers are just being ktrained).

I guess it would make even more easy for big servers response over small servers atacks, it would be a dangerous move w/o changing how other stuff works.

They added alot of stuff into the game but feels they have removed more than added…

Indeed but the mechanics the game overall, dont offer nothing for that, the only thing ANet has done for players think that, is to instant reward you even when u sneeze, and imo it is a awfull aproach.

I dont see how that could be done with what we have to play with.

Map design, how is easy is to play stacked, lack of guild and gameplay structure, ic several factors workign here, that usually do the otherway of showing people how they can contribute when server is overstacked to melt structures.

We could waste time theorizing what lacks and what Anet coul do with the actually existent mechanics game have, would be a talk over a dead horse. :\

Well gw2 isnt a team game, it pretends to be a team game… but yeah forcing at least 5 player to cap anything outside camps would be interesting to see how it rolls.

I only use it for the symbolic avenger 10% damage boost with traps for spvp build… but i cant play much that build, anything that playsDH traps on the build its a build that carries the players… and i hate to feel carried.

The healing is minor(arround 140 heal ticks) on a skills that is almost 2sec to be casted it stops casting if i take finger from button for some time when im laggin a bit on WvW this is what happens most of the time, its not a good thing to sacrifice other preferable stats over healing power on guardian, you should use your blocks to increase the healing power while choose a build that carries u trough damage ouput, reason i use mace 3 mostly of the time, to increase via blocks the outgoing healing.

Mace 2 it works for you because u migh be using traps…..but meh.. with traps every one plays well…

Well that would punish players that like to solo cap empty stuff (some players belivve that is their player skill… that is doing the work), isnt the game designed for everyone well…. get stuff done w/o much effort so every one is rewarded???

For sure to compensate they would ended broking of other things to compensate this…. change.

Dont try to figure out balance in 1vs1 or 5vs5

GW2 PvP is balanced around WvW’s zerg vs zerg and classes like Warriors and Guardians are designed to be frontline tanks, sustaining massive AoE spammage.

guardian sustain massive aoe in WvW :} thats so 2012……. they are ment to be played as utility(virtues) stability bots + empower or high damage builds medi trappers, if u dont have bow nowadays and do damage ur being carried by those who do damage.

And game isnt balanced towards blobs either.. far from that, that is the most broken gameplay.. just full stacked optimized builds that are being carried by the pve mechanics classes were designed.
Its balanced towards what matters in this game… pve, reason pvp was never interesting, they putted pve classes unbalanced by default on pvp scheme.
Try to play the most defensive espect of the guardian, u will melt, if dont use traps or meditations u cant do nothing 90%+ oof the time.

They could had bags that only would accept siege (players would have to sacrifice overall item slots), so that drop menu would read just the siege bag.

hummm, or show the siege in the siege bag on top of players utilities (floeting menu similiar to heroes skill menu).

YTKafka.4681, having smaller teams does not means less team gameplay it actually means that those teams or guilds need to sperate more and comunitcate better have a better team work that aoe spam at range everything, the actuall ktrain or blob system have alot of week teamplay(its zero teamplay compared with the mmo’s i plyed in the past) compared with most mmo’s old and new…

And GW2 isnt about team work atm… That stayed in GW1.

I think SMC should have several place to get conquered, if blobs invades, SMC to be fully conquested needs a seconds floor shrine to be fully capped, still it requires redesign somehitng and that falls from the cliff…

Still… this is a dead horse talk when we talk about change something that is working for Anet… and Anet dont want to improve WvW since would meant add stuff that would put the game doing more than they wanted.

Apolo.5942 its not a stats issue, its skill quoficients that could be changed, its a poor balance on sacrifice, you burst and get bursted back.

Forced to have high damage to melt targets faster than they melt you.
Forced to have gap closers to counter ranged classes.
Forced to have aoe gimmicks spam rotations.

Range is ment to do high damage since most classes have high damage gimmicks as well.

I 100% disagree. WvW needs more incentives to run in smaller groups, not yet another incentive to zerg up

That means change alot of things in the game…..and that is not what Anet have been done.
Changes that Anet chooses to make actually makes blob even more desirable and easy to carry its players.

its a ktrain game….. what u guys were expecting, its worthless to play for ppt while Anet is enforcing it(they dont want to game to become enaything else….), cap just were enemy is not defending redundancy, that would have just been fine for pve players feel rewarded.

Wasn’t that the real objective of WvW???… Reason they have not putting balance on population accounting the timezones, they need at least on big server against 1 or 2 much smaller ones, the small population will still cap something back or even their map side due time zone server activity, and that will create gameplay for the biggest server to re-crap stuff back, it creates gameplay and ktrains wich was game was designed for.

This is a dead talk.. they will tweak but the final result will be always the same, just another way to achieve it that isnt much diferent from the initial one, since Anet dont want the game mode to become mode, they cant even balance the classes for a healthy gameplay…across the game since it conflits with form whom the game was built for.

Stealth cant contest/cap stuff, same goes for players that pull invunerability o.O

If its working… well another gimmick to be abused since it will never(probably) be fixed… i hope soemday a server runs full of stealth thiefs to show Anet how bad the game is ATM and didnt evolve nothing from its release, it has beed a dowgrade most of the time.

The quantity of additions/changes the game suffered doest mean they have been increasing quallity as well…..
