i dont have crafting stuff armor and weapon stopped arround 400-430, i got no gold, not even to follow a guide, so i wont lvl the gold trap crafting system, since i dont burn real money on this game (ive learned that lesson).

I dont do pve, i didnt even finished HoT and probably never will….

Skill balance is just not enough. Skills either need to be reworked or overhauled according to their respective game modes. Otherwise, you’re just trading metas.

PvE, PvP and WvW are, in a sense, three separate games. These game modes all have different rules and conditions. They need to be treated as such. I think it’s the only way.

All they had to do was make skills have 2 effects, one against mobs/npc other against players in the same skill…

Will that vending machine will exist as well in WvW?

tbh 2.7 is probably enough haha.
could you imagine a 20 person meleetrain with all guard running high healing power? omg it would be glorious!

humm when i have the time and gold, im gona try a build that i played since the beta, going full cleric since on that SS i only have 3 trinkets and 1 weapon with healing stats :\.

Sadly people are beign carried by damage, so most builds dont get out paper theorycrafting, and this game is wasy to spammy(unskilled overall), there isnt much space for build diversity, all tends to be resolved about aoe/cleave class stacking.

~3.7 is possible with everything maxed out. definitely not with no measly 1.3! :P

heal guard does have a bit less hp and tough, so that’s why you don’t go first

:( mine got 3.8/3.9k armor arround 1k healing power and arround 25k hp, plus 2k power.

pfft 2k heal power or bust haha

I cant even think of the output on healing if u use several output modifiers :\ still to “55hp monk” alike for me, i like to stand at the front lol.

Both could be balanced if Anet returned to the decent skill design like gw1 had, problem with gw2 is that everythign will end in condition stackign and boon stacking, echos, shouts, whatever dont have direct/ative effects for the allies like we had in gw1.

That would reduce the boon stacking and condi stacking, still game is not about balance but to be carried about those stacking gimmicks, so i doubt it will ever be good has they had in gw1.
Anet made one huge misscalculatin, a more simple game would make game to unbalanced since it will overstack the only 2 or 3 outputs form skills, and since this is a game toawrds skillspamming leaded to this~, where 4years laters game looks worse than in release day.

How is that different from Mesmers, Eles and Thiefs using their own shadowsteps? It’s stupid that guardians has 2 of them and they are both restricted. And especially for Merciful Intervention, it’s really clunky to use, because there’s no ally targeting in this game and you can whiff the entire skill if the ally moves out of the area. At the very least, you shouldn’t get a full cooldown if the skill does nothing.

It’s different because those are completely different classes than the guardian. You can’t just put the same skill from one class onto another and then expect it to be fine. Imagine if necromancers got a 1200 range blink, their greatest weakness would be circumvented and they’d be ridiculous. I’m not saying that’d be the case with guardians, but I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if it was.
I agree that the ally targeting AoE should be a bit bigger though.

Every class will have the other classes weapons and utilities alike. they dont care of ballance its based on how a dev feels class should behave on.

10 sec resistance is too much. 3 seconds is fine because you can always use some boon duration if you want to get it to 4-5 sec. That should stop you blowing up. Right now its useless in WvW/PvP.

And yes Pure of Voice should make shouts heal. With a good healing power modifier so its not OP unless you use Heal Power

well it might be OP if we look only for the heal numbers, but overall we are sacrificing more than other classes sacrifice(trade off) get that healing output, so it might be more balanced than it looks.

With the low base Health that guardians have its hard to stack Heal Power, Vitality and Damage (power) so I don’t think it would be OP either.

Yet all this would just accomplish making shouts a bit better. It doesn’t diversify as the other 2 GM traits in Honor are also healing oriented. I would very much like them to go into a different direction.

A direction that is already covered by other classes, where one can even passive spread boons to allies?
If u notices being shout, echo, wathever will end in boons only, theres no true diference, just on the trait name of each class tro pretend that diference exists , at the ends theres no diference since it will end in boons, gw2 is one very big placebo skillwise, and players are falling for it, that is why tuning shouts in gw2 will not make shout better but just a copy past of other class stuff.

IF gw2 team follows a more closer a aproach to the existing gw1 skills would be way much better game.
Just for shouts theres already skills that, still they were left in a better game and didnt got ported to its predecessor wich was made for a dumber playerbase.

This is how Shouts should be working, like gw1:
Skills that buff shouts.
Skills that counter shouts.
Skills that have effects which trigger when under the effects of a shout.
Skills that have effects which trigger when using a shout.
Skills renewing themselves when a shout ends.
Skills that have effects which trigger when a shout ends.

Shouts chants echos, should be a effect while boons sould be the extra effect.
IMO this is the diraction Anet should return to, gw2 when we realise how the game works at the end its disgustfull…so dull so basic yet to many issues/ conflitcts.

Come to thieves’ forum and tell them that, bet they will eat you alive. Thieves have become something similar to guardians, being overpowered in aspects that may not fit in certain game modes but still beggining for another wave of buffs. Sometimes people should realize that they can’t have all things at once.

I really hope Anet will look into revenants once more soon because curently I don’t feel like revenant is useful any more.

The issue is that some classe sstill have to much with poor sacrifice, and that is what Anet should fix, still they prefer to create “metas” by overpowering some spec then nerf it again, instead of create a wide area of combat over time.

For the X seconds, the next time each party member within earshot blocks, that party member looses one condition. (wich is wjat we atm are lacking to setup the block for our allies).

Then Anet could add to SYs, gain 1 second of resistance for each condi u pull and lower CD to 32sec.

Well placed siege = siege glicthed in the most inner side and under the floor, where cant be hitted and sometimes kicks u out of the siege due its placement.

And here I thought this thread was going to be about the population imbalances created by players stacking on servers or fairweathering when there are competition…

This.

wich is a great thing, its marvelous, not talkign about those stuff.

Imbalanced population is a propriety of those RvR/WvW/Whatever system it is, but they tend to have other mechanics behind to ocupy the players or make players behave in certain way, wich gw2 dont even has it, only structure wvw has is ktrain or change bl to a empty one for good matches of figthing empty towers.

WvW lacks integrity, holds no value for the game, and its guilds, players, and talking about scores and population is a matter of distraction from talkign what is really failling/lacking in this game, what could be done to improve gameplay without “dumb” gimmicks, wich Anet embrace so much…
The game was a very very good model when it was released, 4years laters feel like they have taken more stuff out then improved the game.

So i think players should try to avoid talking of something that cant be fixed that is populations and scores, theres always people in and out, no matter how much the glicko and links tries to pair theres always some numbers that will be missed since its impossible to predict who will stop play due business, or have toz focus in something, Anet should tweak the game for decent gameplay instead of loosing time wich score changes.

The mentality of players has changed since the beginning,..and for the worst I’d say.

Nobody but the most tough guy will fight 1m away from keeps or towers, even worst they will try their best to outnumber you be it using guards or other players.(…)

And That is why most hate DBL, and theres no point of takign stuff if not for the ktrain reward as well, reason EB is the most played map, u got stuff to hide every where and strucures are easy to get since most are empty.

Actually Anet have tons of solutions and very simple solutions codewise to turn WvW to a decent battleground, do they want it?
I think they prefer or they are enforcing EOTM behavior in WVW, since no one complainss of class balance and structures that can be bugged there, it must be because it works, it is wonderfull, its great, they believe in the power of statistics even if they dont know how to interptret the data and assume the oposite path.

last one is good and has interest

I think gw2 already catters to the slowest players, cause that deppends how skills are designed and rotations needed to kill targets VS what can counter that, and anet dont like strong defensive gameplay its all in the damage even if class have strong sirviability, so players dont need to learn that much how to play the game, its all at first in the damage output or how fast can u mash your max damage output in the target.

GW2 is very button mashable overall, that actually catters to the slowest people, they need to focus more in the builds than the gameplay, its a matter of timming and keep farming the pvp things.

Still it is not hard to hit targets wit alot of damage, dont forget we are using pve classes that were designed to be super simple and dull as well in the pve, and most time carry the players with damage so they feel ballsy, and class balance is very sucky.

GW1 pvp > GW2 pvp

Indeed, but that would be to much imo, lots of guardian stackign all those boons XD, revs were shaved for some reason already.

that would be asking to face them with a army of boon corruption, and that would be the same as happened to stability meta times where only a decent group of necros(and in numbers)could actually stop the hammertrain.

So, besides shouts being in need of some flavour, save yoursleves is more a problem than a utility to survive as well, could SY be tweaked to closer that gap?

Being forced to use SY while in RF to avoid conditions getting pulled to you, is very idiotic as well it needs to be changed -.- its 2 less utilies one being an elite skill, while conditions after removed are easilly reaplyed, so it does not make any sense…

Btw “Save Yourselves!” gives every boons except the ones that actually can save anyone wich are:
-Stability
-Resistance
-Blocks

This would be a zero sense of progress, time spend in the game and action of player playing would even matter less.
That is already what we have from week to week, not imagine that every 3h all the effort or time spent playing would be reseted.

Since ppt is useless, who cares about ranking when gamemode is only based on how much ktrain groups u can mantain and for longuer and since GW" WVW has no objectives, it already holds zero value for the players that do it, this would make the game even worse than it is already and form dull to very very dull game.

mrauls.6519 i doubt Anet likes to give defensive skills/utilities a strong behavior, that would cut the gameplay for those who follow the “power creep” and make the game more dificult for them, reason u dont see that much strong defensive options and the ones guardian have can be easilly countered and people already complain because they dont even want the class to counter their damage output or learn how to counter.

MI is a strong heal, we already have base 2k heals on meditations w/o runing healing power, can u imagine if the skill CD was lowered to half???

Aaaaaand you guys are still arguing over the numbers when the important thing is how teams fight under the two different settings. You can try and hand out more points to 2nd and 3rd from 321 to 543, but it makes no difference with 1st slapping whomever they want around.

what ends up happing with 5-4-3 or 3-2-1 is the server in second place does everyting they can to remain second, so the best way to remain 2nd is to attack the server in third, even when the 1st place server has capped your whole BL as long as you score more than the server in 3rd you still get your points. this results in the 3rd place server constantly getting tagged teamed from start to finish.

another problem with 5-4-3 or 3-2-1 is score manipulation via night capping.
if the night capping server(which is usually 1st due to night capping) sees that the server in 2nd place is catching them in points, they will deliberately make them come third in the skirmish to widen the gap.

Exactly this, we’ve had four years to see this over and over again. 543 is not going to magically change how players play for 1st 2nd 3rd in 321.

^, and no matter what both 1st and 2nd will team against the 3rd and weaker in population server so they can ktrain their stuff, or make 2nd placed server ktrain empty 3rd server home bl.

ANet likes the ktrain model of capping emptys structures, looks like its very skillfull in their minds… no wonder even pvp did well in esl….
WvW will be always a ktrain like EOTM where people they are mor skillfull than the eotm ktrain… just because well they fight in a “organized” blob withmore gimmicks.

@Anet, so after 543 dont work what will be the new score????

That is the issue, the gap must be shorter, still it would be a bit OP, runing guards with each shout affecting 3 condis.
Still when u have skills like save yourselves, we pull more condis that we cant hold or expectin to pull, dont even have time to use contemplation of purity the condis and get insta down due several +5k condi ticks… it makes sense to have strong condi removal :\.

Shield of Judgment could cleanse condis from allied targets.«, some classes have strong weapons skills on offense we should have at least strong defensive one.

I think this is what they wanted at the end, maybe WvW is in good spot for Anet and they dont want ot change how it is now, it was just a skritage place for the pve players cap tower and recap them only for the chests.

While people figth the outmaned servers the can ktrain with much less fights and much lesser lags, this is what server links are about stacked server with same time and make servers fight other servers with diferent time zone activity peak.

@Supreme i think Anet is the one to blame, they have made very vey poor decisions overall this 4years, this game is far from being inonvative as making a super mario 2d game with DX 12, good graphics means nothing.

Players just expected to much from this game and Anet.

@Anet disable EOTM for one weak.

1) population cant be balanced in siege games that emplies dozens of players, this is a propriety of the genra, so they need to compensate with a good structure and mechanics, besides pvd, wich is almost what ive done, while the other server is sleeping and then they ktrain back when they have more population.

2) reduce lag, maybe by reducing every AA to 1 target for a start, and other cleave skills to 2 targets.
(this would balance a bit the damage ouput spam).

3) rewards… cappign structure no longer gives rewards, Guilds and groups need to hold stuff, rewards would come for tick point while group or guild is holding the structure, in reduced quantity but increased quality.

How the gome works (as in players behavior, some mechanics) this is very imcompatible.

Anet paired servers to fight each other is diferent timezones to make them ktrain one at a time, so who can hold a camp against 20-30 while the other side only has 5 players?

Another thing, even when dual teaming both servers dont team against the stronguer one, what ic is they tend to atack the smaller one so they can ktrain or acumulate more ppt, this would make life more dificult for smaller servers or more lag since player sowuld have to start stacking for everything.

And at the end this would make game even more dull, more easy to ktrain, since players would not even care much about protecting stuff.

Auto atacks need to stop being cleaves, players need to learn wich target to atack, instead being carried by damage output on cleaves.

A: Its a ktrain game, most servers are ktrainign just in diferent timezones, this is the idea i have ANet have configured the linking and server VS system.

A: Cant answer this one or give a decent awswer imo…. since server pride imo is useless in this game cause WvW offers nothign speciel to have pride about… i have no pride in being carried or capping empty structures.

Gwaihir.1745, that is the same with mace symbol, the casting time, the casting is so slow that u can get easilly killed while trying to cast it.

And yeah retaliation is awfull atm.. Anet had to compensate its damage to the dumbest players.

Orb of light bugs alot, if u dont detonate the the orb, the skill will not enter in CD, and u need to detonate the skill even when orb has already expired, only after that skill enters in CD.

heal guard does have a bit less hp and tough, so that’s why you don’t go first

:( mine got 3.8/3.9k armor arround 1k healing power and arround 25k hp, plus 2k power.

Don’t even consider touching lootstick.

lootstick needs QoL :}

fix a bug in orb of light, and the 5th skill could get a 1 or 2 second reflect wall on top of line of warding.

And probably empower while moving?

mace needs more healing on first and seconds hit, i barelly reach the 3rd hit on targets -.-".

@nerovergil.5408 this must be yor first MMO.

ANd SlippyCheeze.5483, playing meta means play what is more efective and makes less efort to play, u have alot of builds that do this in this game, being at pve or pvp.
So its not a myth, even Anet stated they would change metas over time, wich means pay atention to what gets changed to get more carried than non “meta” builds.

Its not a myth because the gap between what players define meta and non meta is a huge gap on the build performance by itself.

I could prove how 1k hps is possible but I don’t care enough to honestly. if you want to know youll figure it out for yourself.

except for raids (even then you stand in one spot for a bit of time before having to move) and wvw for the most part, all other modes you will be standing in one spot. the pvp points are pretty small, and if youre on guardian that’s where you should be.

Guardians are not tanky enough to be standing on points for a long period of time. Once their blocking runs out they’re easier to focus down than a necro, and they drop in like 3 seconds. Even if guardians did stand on point 24/7, that doesn’t mean your allies will be there. What if an ally that needs healing is off point? How is the mace going to help them?

The only classes who are decent at tanking points without any support are engineers, elementalists, and druids. Even then, those three classes still move around a fair bit, and if they run away to recuperate, good luck trying to heal them with your mace’s tiny non-burst 350 healing per second (assuming they don’t already have regen, in a 180 radius that they need to stand in, and there also needs to be an enemy right next to them to constantly auto with faithful strike).

Before you say “but % outgoing healing”, yes I already kept that in mind, and that affects all healing so it doesn’t matter in regards to the mace vs staff healing comparison.

To achieve decent healing values u need alot of stat sacrifices and healing output modifiers.
To get decent values it becomes mostly an unplayable build that get 1 or 2 shootted, since damage is very high in this game to make players look good.
even on bunker stats being pvp or WvW alot of players hit over 2k-3k autos, 5k- 7k on other skills, once in a while i have 15k-17k hits(under some cirkittenances, thay are more rare but still happen).
After 2 dodges or if the guys is playing a warrior full of unblockables, its a get rekt momment.

ive acheived 4k empowers every 15secons and faithfull strike 1k+ heals, but it becomes unplayabale due the damage output its 2dodge game and get get down due how others are being carried with the damage output atm.

GrahamW.5397, i changed my build to get similair healing values from that, those 2k+ aegis heals on allies pitty they dont remove condition or aply protection.

You shouldn’t have any issues with protection especially on a guardian. If you’re running a sustain frontline party you’ll have a tempest who will be giving you near perma protection already.On top of that you have mace 3,shield 4, your f3, and your res trait. If you have condition trouble, purging flames, your f2 removes 5 conditions from you and 3 from your allies. Revenants have resistance, use them.

Pack a group of warriors(bzerkers), it will be far better than those guardians, and have just some condi fire guards with PF bombing in midline.
