Anybody using mace?

ive been using mace since beta, and still use, in both pvp and WvW… its awfull due how most classes can sustain the damage mace does and how bad guardian stats are being used, we sacrifice to much o defense for nothing while most classes can do defense and offense at same time, and the symbol is awfull due every one has speed boost and healing power on guardian is very weak, its slow casting by the time you ended casting the 2nd skill “Symbol of Faith” target is already is bursting you or went to range, does poor defense for self or team, usually in pvp i only uset to defend against initial contact burst then swap to sword/focus.

Dont expect anything good in this game, about game balance, its a defensive weapon is ment to be slow and punishing the carrier, they compensated that with a block/aegis on mace 3 because, mace even with that fall behind the offensive weapons, as a defensive weapon.

Mace has a huge problem, that is Anet thinks defensive Guardian gameplay is strong.. while its a class that does no damage, no support or very poor support and has low surviability no matter how many blocks it has(even so we hear alot of bad players QQ how DH/guard has many blocks, sicne this game was built to gammers that want to kill target by just spamming 1 key), they are a very easy class/build to defeat due how Anet likes to unbalance and carrie players trough gimmick damage build vs defensive builds.

Anet poor resolve of bringing a decent gameplay decided to make not all weapons viable to be main weapons for every mode.

Game is ment to be super simple and easy for even awfull players….. every one is rewarded and carried to loook efective even on single player contesting and capping a tower/keep.

They need to reward everyone actions to count as something or atleast feel that way.
Anet dont even want to make WvW a team game, its a ktrain or cap something alone in a empty map.

@OP, I think as much some classes are a very OP, bazerker in wvw is far stronger than pvp, and that is how Anet made it to work, its not a game of balance, its a game of use gimmick to excell at the game, and that is how Anet “balance” and design classes.
If warrior looses strenghs it would be bad for pve, making to much diferent from changing the pvp side is out of question, they have stated that in the past.

IF carries u its a balanced class…. play what makes u win, or be a mediocre player if u dont play what makes u win, with a very mediocre build.

As example i dont play some guardian builds since i felt super carried, yet im playing the game wrong since its about having fun and be carried most time, and cant do nothing using the way i like to play that class, since i play bunker stats and shouts, i dont do damage very poor support or none, and every one hits alot trough due how this game carries players trough damage output, while i barelly can damage most builds/classes.

Some classes are ment to be broken by design, that is what makes some classes playable in this game.

Understandable :\ been using mace shield in my DH, not using traps and not using bow as well.

Actually using mace shield combo for 4 years.

And @OP NSP used to have few devs as well.

I am NSP. Have been since the beginning. I bounce around a lot, but that’s “home.”

I can’t say I highly recommend it, but I absolutely love it. It suits me enormously. And in my defense, I’m not a “Mash 1” player. I have a full range of skills and I know how to use them. Even if they may be a little weak from time to time.

Strange that I haven’t seen you in WvW on NSP. I haven’t seen an Anet Tag or claim on NSP in many, many months. Do any devs that may play on NSP attempt to be a part of the server “community”? TS and such?

Some are/were in ZoS that was the dev+players guild from GW1.
Altough NSP is a pve server ^^, dont forget.

dev do not have to run with there anet tag on. dev we run with on yak we always ask them to put on there tag just to make other sever salty LOL

That is a thing that i nerver understood… even when they claymed stuff on the 2 servers i was fighthing some players wich actually were from the other servers got mad at each other behavior of Anet..

I would love to see more structure claimed by Anet, and preferable if they stay defending them :}.

Guardian "Pull" Ability in PvP

Its a bug
It will happen if u pull ur enemy over a ramp (like the ramp at Kylos windmill)

it works in several places, on WVW eb ive found quite a few places where that works :}
I try to provoke it every time ic a players within the perfect spot and droppping from the wall…they get oftem pushed from inner side of the wall at 100% and get instantly killed at my feet :>

Ramps, stairs, wvw wall bottom ledges(1), try to pull with f1 when target barelly hits the floor when he jumps to the inner side to loose the chain effect(needs a timming ), and pull it trough the stairs, try to get a direct angle to the pull.

(1) on the botton wall ledges ive notice when target is with the chain and he jumps down, if u time well that wall ledge will serve as ramp and target will fly vertically and die at your feet due fall damage…

Only way to fix is change the F1 skill to something else equivalent as a pull to traps, maybe a taunt.

This is how i understood it was working in some places…and sorry about the bad english.

Meh happened to me months ago, no one cared and it won’t change. Was down before I could react, basically only an auto skill would have saved me. Wasn’t even full zerk either.
Good luck with the balance crusade, I don’t see anet giving two figs about it.

With those values, every one plays decently since its is easy to kill targets, Gw2 is complete the oposite of Gw1 where u had several requirements to burst/gank/spike and several mechanics to understand.

In gw2 every one can do that with the “perfect” build for that class, by being mostly carried in who hit with more damage gimmicks, the game gets more easy for everyone since every one is effective and thinks they are good players (works like a placebo to atrack players).

Its a gimmicks wars wars game, not much skill is required since every will burst and get bursted, and every “looks like a decent” player.

Those are the ideals where gw2 was built on, a game for every one be “efective” good and bad players, and every one is rewarded.

so u think SMC inner cannon at TOP is good ?

Why arent they good? they barelly cover the gates and they can be easilly hitted.

… that floor is the best defense line of SMC so that means they are as well in a good defensive high and they are counterable.

the 3rd floor mortars are more of a problem than the inner canon. the smc lord is awesome with iron guards. greatest potato farm in game.

And while figthing DH’s i always saved on dodge for it, and save stability to avoid the pull.

About the 5 targets.. GW2 is a dumb aoe spam game, makes everyone being carried by aoe spam and cleave. (this is the reason pvp isnt good).

Sviel.7493, changes where they spend time that didntd fix a thing and those things are in the same before they spend time/resources.

Its a placebo… WvW is perfect for the quality of gammes gw2 was designed for, they are just change skirrmish values (that wont make a change) to pretend they are doing something.

They didnt even bother to fix certain ways to enter keep and towers directly in desert BL.

This means Anet believes WvW is in good place, wvw is for pve players pretend to be good pvpr’rs with their button smash gimmicks and ktrain for few GG we capped a empty tower we have now more ppt for the skitmish.

What they want for the game is a awfull and very flawd/weak concept for a game that that is suposed to be AAA.

ThomasC.1056, actually would prefer a alliance/hostile/and truce system, with several maps -.- and several types of guilds since Anet also borked up the concept of Guilds, but thats asking to much i belive.
I think Anet design is really a game w/o effort and playes have to find glitches and lame ways to win, while winnign holds nothing for the guild not its players, just a ppt that hold no value and will never be a good thing no matter how values Anet trhrows at it, its all a placebo.

EotM has a stacking problem because WvW has a stacking problem. Zerglings don’t seem to understand that. Too much PvD rot the brain. If they unlink EotM from WvW and change the map it would be far superior.

its a map design and WvW overall lack of mechanic flaw that “rot the players brain” Anet tried to add new map via DBL and players QQ about it since they cant ktrain faster as alpina map.
And on the defense side players dont want to learn to use the portals that would make the walks almost as faster as in Alpine bl mal, gw2 players are not good gammers overall.
Guilds need to fight for structures, guilds need to fight for reource nodes, in a new map or several smaller maps, with this faction system would work, the server community thing is a dead long time ago, server cumminities are not more than a bunch of ktrainners as well most WvW guilds are that drop tower even if has one defender.

Guilds need to fight not Ktrain, eotm map needs to be at least temporary shutdown, if killing(its actually changing) whats left of the servers community and make then make a new(as in refresh and grow a new and better community) community group with good objectives i think it would be a good trade off/scarifice.

The issue is also alot of players that dont want the ktrain model to be changed since they find that rewarding and being good at the game. (i actually found players that belive that, more than i wish for….)

Frosty, Wub were also in NSP, and ive seen in the past(WvW) some dev using a very skinny/small charr, as well very squiiiishy elementalist, some one told me was Devon, i got him up about the max rezes possible before he got ported to spawn.

One thing that we players cant complain is Anet presence at WvW.

If you see an ANet dev on your server, its because they’re normal people who play the game too when they’re not working. ANet devs don’t take sides in WvW in any official manner, they just have ingame toons, sometimes they go to WvW, sometimes they claim stuff. That’s why you’ll only see them in NA primetime, rarely on EU primetime even in EU servers, or OCX/SEA times. They’re employees at ANet who go home after a long day of work and open up GW2 to chill and some of them play WvW.

It’s all a matter of your servers. For instance, I know there’s one guy who plays on SoS pretty regularly. He’s the one who claimed Air Keep for SoS today, I believe.

There’re no representatives. No select groups. Just individuals playing a game and using the ArenaNet guild in the same way as any other guild.

You got that exactly right. A lot of us play on our own time, and we have no special “dev secret skillz” to help a team in any capacity.

As someone who plays a dual-bow Ranger, I never critize someone else’s build. That way lead me down the path of embarrassment and humiliation.

Deppends if its pvp, its needed to criticize others and self build.

The advice I get is “Don’t play dual bow.” That’s not going to work for me. So yeah, critiques and improvement are important, but for me, there’s a limit!

This is completelly wrong since its in heavy figths that they dont work, they barelly work even on 1 vs 1 situation even against mobs(monsters), Anet made then to not perform well for some whatever reason.
Even the Shield of Absortion, shield 5th skill should not be used under heavy aoe since does nothing against aoe, its only a very minor heal, the domes only wortk against projectiles(single target range skills) but unblocables skills will ignore the dome and hit you.

Unscathed Contender its the trait that increases damage while your have aegis not Battle Presences, imo that deppends of your playstyle, it is a nice damage boost if u are going to burst target before target can atack you, at the time he hits back by range, conditon aplying or wathever, you loose the 20% damage boost.

Battle Presence allows you to spread your virtue heal to a passive heal to nearby 5 allies every 3 seconds, heals arround 280ish to 300ish every 3 seconds.

The activation of Aegis i dont fully understand what are u asking about, since Aegis is a boon from several skill, and the F3 Vitue, with if ur being under atack will consume the aegis and block any atack on you.
Aegis blocks 1 hit and can be countered by unblockable skills.

IF it is a pve build only ur lookign for, equip a hammer with dps stats, some players that are used to the pve gimmcick are better to help you than i am.

u would end doing zero damage for this support build to work with ( Absolute Resolution and Battle Presence) in a mediocre or low lvl, low health low surviability, would not work well in every gamemode.

Healing support scales very poorly in guardian, scrapper, warrior, ele, druid are far better in this.

SW spirits shield is not used for heavy fights, like its posted there, any aoe skill or even condi or cleave kills the SW, whatever game mode u use it.

Offair.2563, offcourse it will be better, more power creep, more aoe, more condi, stronger anti-condi passives to counter the poor balance, it will be amaaaazziiing.

more pve with more damage and classes that are gimmickly designed to counter that so that every one must play the new armor tier… i ment class progression…

Condition damage increased with 50000%, 10 more types of CC, complete removal of stability, each class gets 100% stealth and block uptime and a new map you cannot even look further then 3meters at any time, any place.

i would not admire if they did that and people would have to buy new expansion to have a trait that would make mobs do normal damage…. lol…

Welcome to open world PvP…or just PvP in general. PvP is meant to be toxic. We are literally finding the best ways to kill people…Oh and again, condi cleanse is the easy counter…any other game with PvP balancing? Bwahahahaha. WOW, Aion, BDO, Rift. All of them have imbalancing and ALL of them have “OP” “Troll” flavor of the month class builds.

But really, trolling? I wouldn’t call it trolling. It’s called WvW.

And this is why we can’t have nice things

sadly that isnt even true in BDO they nefed CC to 4 seconds inverval due how easy was to spam CC, wizard got its aoe stack massivly merfed and in bdo evasion is really cool mechanic based on reflex+combos (now players if want super aoe stack damage to win they need to put effort in that when spiking targets).
The most flavour of the month thing is… lvl up your gear and kill target with op gear.

What are you even talking about? I was referring to the attitude that PvP actually has to be toxic, and if it isn’t then its failed as a game mode.

They should separeate the ladders and ranking from solo queue and team queue.

Some players would have to improve in solo queue and work with that they have in the RNG team, they would work for the solo rank ladder and rank.

Others that like to play in team would gain rank and climb on the team ladder.

Like other pvp games have…

Would remove traps and bow….or maybe leave bow and change wards in place of traps, the DH virtues are very good and easy to counter if not figthing against the traditional gw2 brainless player.
No more aoe damage utilities i would like to see many players dropping from being carried against bad players.

Buff shouts traits and stronger shouts (other classes have better boon stuff)and guardian needs boons to get stronger, does not makes sense what Anet is doing as usual.
Anet borked up the class so traps could be forced to be accepted since not many players liked the inital elite speck, Anet forced the situation, i would increase the class to force 2 vs 1 situations since they offer low damage, and could increase their support ally role since its weak as well.
I dont like how save yourselves work, sometimes we overstack so much condis we dont have time to use Contemplation of Purity.

Issue with this game lack of balance, it that some classes could do and some still can do the offensive speck while in defensive stats… that needs to be adressed.

Would make toughness or healing more valuable (for defensive builds with low support)since Guardian with toughness has low surviability and VERY LOW damage. they sacrifice to much for what they do even weak on team support.

Make Spirit weapons being damage only by conditions, increase the burn damage from SW, and probably increase Sword and Hammer walking speed.
Also fix the SW Bow that isnot a damage weapon still shoots against the enemy and ive seen removing condition from enemy…. when it tryed to atack the enemy…

Make santuary really big like Shield dome that would reduce damage by X% and put it in elite consecration.
Add new minor consecration also based on sanctuary while keeping the smaller version and shorter duration and shorter CD.

Signet elite is awfull for the game… as well, its not hard to balance all skills to be used in every game type yet anet doesnt want to or fails to.

Reduce CD on staff 5 skill, or probably make it a 2-3 seconds absortion wall as well with the 25-30sec CD while it stills stop enemies movement.

Somebody said in a different thread that they should remove passive damage ticks from confusion and apply more damage on the active part, and AFA I can see that could work IMO. That would effectively be a nerf for both condi warrior and mesmer, which are currently among the best of SoloQ builds.

humm the last time i got that affected against confusion really kittened me, i stopped the atack then pulled shelter for the block condi cleanse, the few condis i had got cleaned, but the the blocks were making confusion active trigger by alot since i was being bursted at the same time by the clones, so i dont know if that is a good thing and confusion kept restacking and hurting even more since shelter removes 2 condis with the DH trait, was a 2-3 seconds rekt while still in shelter.

Sadly the amount of confusion being aplyed was a bit to much, that i could not take condis off with shouts+blocks mostly was confusion stackign alot, and if i recall i had trooper runes as well.

So increase the active tick might not be a good solution, it migh be a way to achieve some broken gimmick.

@cranos.5913, a DHnot usign medi trap build is a dead guardian, the other build, burn guard its a oportunist build that kills bad players or players that are almost down…. that is what makes the class in good(decent) spot, viable by damage output gimmick.
DH/Guardian blocks are easy countered.. what makes players sturdy in DH is the healling trap being triggered ive reached close to 14k heal with that :\.

Not everyone wants to be carried…..

Warrior is kinda fine, issue is bzerker to much surviability for the damage it does… needs to sacrifice something.

Thief cant be touched, pretty lame but they need to work this way to fight theaoe spam lameness of gw2 combat overall…

Mesmer, atm is not that hard to play it offensivelly, still alot of classes have builds that are easy to kill targets with their easy way to achieve damage w/o sacrifice, mesmer to get touched alot of classes need to be more balanced first in damage output.

Full Condi Tank / Troll dodge evade meta… Poor kitten overflow.

Thats the gw2 gimmick that developers love.
Actually not even a guard/DH bunker can hold/sustain as much as some classes do in non bunker stats lel… not even with a full block build that is super easy to counter, Anet killed that class to a noob trapper expect to kill, that even i feel carried and obligated when playing the class….

Other then this, the skill needs a nerf. Just to the damage though. Removing the evade means the skill becomes unusable thanks to AoE killing you too fast.

Theres to much AOE/cleave spam in this game, but since pve is all about that pvp needs easy press button gimmicks with side effects that migh be OR NOT balanced at all, and this reaches all classes, so Vault works this way to compensate the lack of balance…aoe/cleave spam game.

But then by ANets own admission, they look at peoples MMR when looking at feed back to see how much they play PvP. So unless you are the chosen few, you’ll get no response from them. But hay E sports right? What a joke.

That means they only listen to people that who would ask stuff to improve their rank lol and get stuf more easy or with less effort.

Did they even manage to make different ladder and ranks for solo queue and team queue? like other pvp esl games have or its all one huge gimmick grind?

Warrior cause auto stability/dmg negation and easy resistance with no gimic block/mobility.

warrior with gimmick is the way :} damage and being very sturdy, who doesnt like that.

Xillllix.3485, or Anet could reduce the ammount of aoe/cleave skills the game. (that migh be what gives the imbalance on class stacking in several gamemodes as well).

And probably woudl reduce the lag on wvw as well….. -.-" so much calc being done server side, across all splash damage cleave/aoe condi ticks..

Traps triggers the first players that got inside, more single targeted game instead what we have now, players would need to know wich target they would atack and not press a skill in hope they will get every one in there.
When i talk about traps its not traps only, i feel really carried away when i used a DH trapper…. (reason i hate so much this new spec)

im not talking about conquest im talking the skill design that was ported from pve to pvp.
I was talking how this game was designed to carry its players, like does in pve with all the easy spammable aoe/cleave, its ugly to observe the matches.

Yeah build diversity is obsolete, and was never a strong point in gw2(i believe gw2 was never ment to have build diversity), we see that alot in WvW but all players at the end turn to change to the same optimal build but that is what gw2 is good for, sadly a bad players can look good using a gimmick damage build with its opotunity to kill.

Gw1 would not forgive bad players even if they had a gimmick build, on the GvG u had to had some know how of the game, in gw2 u dont… all need to know is press butons this orders to make damage.

Conquest would be good, if class balance was something decent on this game, some classes excell more than others..some way to much.

Well also a game that has its pve aoe spam into its pvp, that cant be a good thing.

Vicky.4563, people voted with what they belived was wrong and probably they were right, but the real issue is Anet never cared to change the gamemode that much same that happened with WvW, game is about farm titles and pvp is no diferent that is why leagues and ranks dotn work and are not ment to work like other pvp games…

Its a game for every one, even bad players..every one can be efective to a extent.

If u make damage it will make the hostile atacker think twice.

Game is about damage if u are not being carried by damage expect to die fast, play what carries u.

Button with high damage is considerated a pro thing in gw2, and some classes dont even need that DPS stats to aquire a high acceptable value.

Gudradain.3892, issue is the awfull game balance with so much aoe damage output being easy to be spammed.
Still its a unskilled game for gammers being carried by high damage gimmick or at least that is waht the game was designed for, as in u dont need to be that good to be mediocre in this game since its towards players who cant spend time learning games with lots of mechanics.
Your class does high damage you will kill something until some one with highther damage or fasters burst CD will kill u, ence Anet says its normal to die in gw2.
