If you create multiple wvw maps, wouldn’t that become eotm-ish, just without the ktrain. That wvw feeling is no more.

That is a interesting tough, still it would deppend how the maps/server system would work and maps layout.

Lets say 3 servers only with 8 maps 3 are BL’s, one central, and 4 smaller amps are between bl the central map.

The work arround is not increase servers but to reduce and tweak/change the maps for more smaller ones, get guild interested in holding stuff, and interested of what rewards miugh come from other territory/castle/tower.
Figthing for ppt only its a dull system, since it never become something more interessant or better, no matter how rewards Anet introduces… the activity will be shorter than a LS life period.

If not this game is a pretty potato, with very por mechanics and interess.

Atm at wvw… even enemies bail atacking a tower if they see 1 defender….. so much fight this game has.

Warrior is broken because that class has one of the best allrounder setups across all classes.
And ye the dmg is kittening high and you have also good def. Was really a joke when i swapped to my warrior and stomped like an idiot. When i tried thief man that are worlds between them. Stealth is annoying to fight but as warrior u can really in some situations smash ya face on the keyboard and win. And when u get low Hp now u can run faster than usain bolt and that with heavy armor.

That means the class is balanced to Anet standards, its a noob game for noob people most classes need to carrie the player so they stay playing. :P

What some of us want is u cant have builds with mobility defense and damage, bzerkers are really anoying at this, some classes dont have surviability and no way to escape, like a mace shield guardian….oh and mace does no damage and isnt very good besides the block thing, so is a loose/loose or very situational build.. due how game is all about offensive power creep.

In exchange of lesse bzerker surviability or mobility for damage, Anet should rework the vanilla banners to something decent, and interesting.

players would stack or try to stack into one server of that color all of the other server would become even more empty?
Another behaviour would be stack on the server where thet can ktrain empty servers.

Why reset? It doesn’t solve any foundation issues…nor does it add anything new to grow the player base. :S

I am a broken record at this point, but 1v1v1 for match up variety (an effort to avoid zero-sum matchups) doesn’t work for snowballing still happens. Not to mention current servers cannot even handle a three way…

The other big foundation issue is 24 hour persistence…or shortened as coverage problems. Populations get mismatched whereby empty maps get “ktrained” with impunity, or they’re empty for large chunks on the clock (e.g. wasted server time).

Indeed 24/7 with so many servers, while game is loosign players, and they wanted to increase th eservers numbers…. these guys dont even….know what they are doing.

Actually IMO, WvW tranformed to something like factions “guild housing” would be a nice change, altough it is to late and we stuck with this ktrain vs lower population servers model, and all they are able is to try to throw sand to players eyes .

A reset would not do a thing since the design issues are still there, servers need to end and WvW model needs a refresh in its conception, to something more simple to manage and easier to growth.

Warrior is fun to play when I’m too drunk to play Rev.

So you don’t have to do dmg like this on a 4sec cd skill with 1200 range ?

Im clearly missing something or I don’t get sarcasm today.

Eh CoR is for nubs. Gun flame is better. Just sig up and fire into a blob. Things will die and your range is better.

Isn’t hammer for rev in general a bit….slow?

high skills damage classes is for noobs who like to be carried by damage (since in gw2 offense > defense no matter how good u are) :} btw cor is AOE and the rift thing bugs alot and becomes invisible damage (no animation sprite) when in larger combats.
And if u block that damage expect some trait to make next skill hit harder XD, besides dodge are 5sec interval while CoR is 4sec CD, yes it is a skill for bad zerg spammers.

On topic:

Warriors mostly berzerker need the same thing that happened to Druids healign, if u want more healing u need to invest more stats, but in warrior is Deffense VS Offense.

IF Anet cared to balance this way like they touched druid, all classes even more stats could come back into spvp…

Make it work like Scorpion Wire. That pull has been busted balanced since launch and it is a rather expensive utility not a built in class bonus.

On they subject of griping about DH skills, how about the fences they drop that will always knock a player down or catch them if they try to teleport through or out of them? Teleport out of their bubble, knocked down. Teleport through their maul, caught.

It makes more sense for thief SW being stronger than Dh F1 pull…

just because:

DH we already have JI to teleport and spam traps+burst on targets we dont need a
pull, give us something else :}
Besides makes SW great would ment DH and thief playing with tactics, thief could pull targets into DH traps if neded, wich is what game lacks alot and why gw2 is very unskilled due one class usually can do all.

The only real broken thing in wvw roaming is thieves. Condi, perma evade, paired with stealth, condi cleanse, etc.
It’s not fun to fight them at all. They either run and reset 10 times or they condi bomb you while being impossible to hit.

Which is why I think I can sum up this thread in a nutshell, as it’s also applicable to warrior/berserker, and this applies to pretty much everything:

Dealing enough damage to end a fight while at the same time negating enough damage to not be ended/pressured is just bad design.

That pretty much counts for all classes with any invuln/block uptime. Thief/necro not counted.

The amount of safe damage just needs to be reduced one way or another. It’s excessive and quite frankly is killing the game.

Mace Shield guard is a block build, does no damage and cant escape…its a build based on team damage negation, but it is balanced since has poor damage and no escape.

“unblockable” needs to effect only skills that use the word block like aegis, shelter as example, everything else that reflects, absorb does not block so it should be a counterplay, wich reflect and absorbtion are coutnered already by ground aoe spam.

First option meant they’ll work on improving the game.

Second option meant they’ll fix something they have no choice to fix anyway.

IMO, what i translate from it is this:

-> First option we will rewards even more ktrains, since we cant fix the score all we can do is reward the winners of each skirmish.

-> Second option,we will change it, but wont fix it, cause we dont want to change what needs to be really adressed.

Some games use mmr even rocket league uses it… and even at the end of each season everything gets reseted players need to play to get their rank back..

Rocket league pvp ranking system is actually very good.

Actually that game and its leadder is very player skill based , i dont like that(im very unskilled there lol….) game but with a very simple game they did it right, they even had to improve and extend the leadder system.

You mention hibernate , what if ANET automatically transfer an account if not used for a month to the lowest tier server, will this solved an instant over stacking of servers?

Lmao at least would manipulate data to show to players they are fixing the “problem”.

The issue is not population itself, it is the mess the WvW server system is, its a ktrain design to pretend to gratiffy pve players when they cap empty structure.. so cool so much effort cata a wall.

The beta showed how powerful cannons are if they are placed on the right locations. It also showed how lousy the current locations of the static cannons are.

There should be a huge overhaul about the siege in structures. I fear that will never happen.

Why not make the existing static cannons moveable (golem speed) to specific new locations within the objective instead?

Player needs to take the time to fully move it & if the move is not completed…siege returns back to original place it was in.

Just be prepared to deal with the troll players that will move them to grief others though.

That would actually be pretty cool.

How many glitches would the cannon shoot?

There are alot of improvements to be done in WvW and extremelly easy to spot, dont know why Anet always fails to deliver that….

My processor is a i7 6700K skylake and that is completely overkill for gw2 so that is defenitely good enough. What gpu do you have?

I have a Geforce GTX 970 Direct CU II OC.

running a 6700 with a 960gtx, blobs still make my game froze when they have “to much AOE” being spammed, and need to run gw2 at minimal.
~
Even in a desktop i have access once in a while with a 6700 oced to 4.5 plus a 980gtx game has its momments altough they are super rare it all deppends the aoe floating arround and the splash animations floating arround.

Actually this deppends on what kind of changes u guys do to WvW, unless nothing changes and this will just change the display name, nothing else….

Server identity is a bit weird since Anet introduced megaserver it cutted alot the chat comms to alot of players, then u guys added the link systems wich made things a bit more strange.

A:1 Better for me? Yes. a new game mode….A no server nor faction gamemodel.

End the servers, link, glicko ppt, since they are broken and Anet cant get them to work properly, population will never be fixed how wvw is structured so effort needs to de focused to change other things.

Guilds and alliances fight over controll structures and resources for mats , gear, rewards, minor boons and new technologie avaliable to be researched on the guild hall.

a) End all servers.

b) End PPT, or change it to somethign that guild can spent to perform actions.

c) Guilds can perform 3 guild alliance and declare war to 3 other guilds.

c1) a structure of guild reward quest system for havok groups and non guild players that visit the structure owned by the guild.

c2) Bonus/reward on guild that hold stuff for X time, each tower/keep would provide diferent rewards and materials chest to guild performance while they hold the structure.

d) Change layout of some maps, BL desert would have more desert and no underground nor cannions, no more valey keep concept, more plane map.

e) Make some more smaller maps that can be tactical to boost strucutures, undergorund map only, island map, air map, in future for guilds/groups fight for materials and some other stuff.

f) revaluate structures layout, siege, higher walls, less places to build siege, maybe pre determined contruct points. like watchtowers, towers that would boost rangers range or apply a preparation for the arrows, theres infinite options to think about it?

g) add the possibility of adding EOTM to the current open maps where guilds fight for what they want resources/score for ladder

h)Guild that hold Tower B could send a yak to send supply for Keep or tower controlled by other alliance/guild.
h1) possibility to send supply from map to map, where adversaries need to find out wich where supply is comming from at the price of ppt or action points?

Maps were produced for the larger population concept and yet they want to short population with the maps they have designed for those big populations….

The logic.. every step they do contradicts with what they decide or release before, wich will be ending a new issue because game was not prepared for that change nor the changes needed for X addon will ever occur.

Honestly, I don’t think they expected that it would become Map queue versus Map queue. I’m pretty sure they expected people to split in 2 maybe three somewhat large groups and fight over different objectives. I’ve been in many large fights like 30-40v30-40 that didn’t lag.

Yeah, totally agree they didnt expect that queue vs queue, it should be:
big server VS medium server VS small server, reason red can be trebbed from SM and vice versa, as in defensive gameplay could do some offensiveness on the crack house.
But we also have the queue VS almost empty linked servers,wich end to be outmaned at the end.

The lags might deppends on the overall servers population that is actually playing.
I think that deppends from how the processing allocations fluctuates from servers side :\, if theres more action need on other servers, it would be need more processing to calculate all the ticks+aoe+damage needs to be used well u would start that lag.

The thing is what Anet proposed or something similiar could work, but i have my many, many doubts they would do the necessary arrangements/changes or find solutions to avoid it to become a issue later.

Yup. They sold a large siege warfare but all people do is complain about sieges and blobs.

Too many ideas, but no clear vision…imho

We’re gonna get lost without a good compass.

It’s Arena Net that decide the direction, not us. We don’t need a compass.

We dont even know how much is Anet compromised to make WvW a decent game mode.

There has been changes sugested by Anet that are weak and not solving the problems, only covering the issue with “placebos” that need to be changed in short time, because they become issues themselves.
Giving useless ideias is worse than giving none, altough Anet if could show some guiding in what they expect WvW to become.
Linking system, ppt score adjustments, introducing more aoe gimmicks(banners, cannons) all were not so good to bad implementations, that didnt solve nothing to the game.

RvR games are ment to be unbalanced by populations, this being said.
->Why Anet wants to change to add more servers with less population while maps are designed to hold alot of players, does Anet want to make us all start ktrain in WVW like EOTM?
->Does the game really need population balance?
->Arent the wvw issues in other mechanics rather population?
->Does spend time/work/resources in things that not solve the “game issue” really worths?
->Does the gameplay offers suficient tools/mechanics for the players adpat their population tactics? Why theres is only offensive blob ktrain, and barelly no one promoting defensive ppt actions, every one prefers to abandon the boat? what is going wrong with the gamemode?
→Is PPT score the issue? Do we need to get rid off ppt, ppt change were useless after all.
->How does the iteration process goes? what defined population are the real issue?

->Is Anet disposed to get rid of the servers structure?
->Is Anet disposed to change/tweak maps layout?
->Is possible to remove some part of the maps and add them to smaller map? ( makign some more designed for smaller scale activity?)
->Is Anet disposed to make Structures more valiable, for alliance/guild who controll them unlocking certain boon/skins/content etc, to make stuff worthy and guilds have an objective or capture and hold stuff, wouldnt this make the game with more stucture?

Xari.1086, as much i would love something arround that (no more servers…), population manipulation would be easy to achieve players would stack all timezones in one faction to allow them ktrain as much as they can.

The issue is how WvW works, any changes w/o changing its foundantions will hardly work, because the issue is on wvw /game core concept/design, the maps itself promotes blob and ktrain with population discrepancy.

-Maps needs players -> maps cant hold players and every lags

-Anet creates more servers to spread players -> every server becomes more empty and one side can always ktrain the adversary due time zones mismatch.

-Anet creates faction, every one stacks their times zones in one faction side.

Stay with what they have and try to make it good, it is a hard task that Anet have at their hands.

best solution imo would be no factions and no servers, still migh hard to emplement how game actually is designed to work.

Probably because you still need another method of splitting the population the same way servers and tiers do. If you simply have 3 factions how would you split the population. EoTM basically uses a faction system but separates the population by means of a mega server type of instance creation. For WvW we have servers and tiers to accomplish this. For an alliance system to work, it would need an additional method to split the population.

For Example.

Red Faction-World A/B/C
Green Faction-World A/B/C
Blue Faction- World A/B/C

Then you have the added nightmare of matchmaking. Basically you end up with a similar system to what we have now.

Yeah and for sure ocx players would stack in one side… :\ only one side would have the 21/7 coverage :\

DH destroys them if you know how to play. Can survive easily as long as you spam traps, symbols and blocks since they cleave out clones in less than half a second.

Know how to play DH… lol, sadly its the only dumb way we have to play with that class.. besides poop traps… useless.
A decent mesmer will not fall for trap poop spam…

Ur playing DH wrong, because DH straight up nerfs Mes.

Welp, you can play how you want all the time or you can play how you want some of the time. If you see a condi mes and want to win 1v1, the symbolic build is your best bet. At least have ToF to kill one burst. Guild Wars 1 was often referred to by the players as Build Wars, and to a lesser degree GW2 retains that aspect. Adapt or die.

[a small rant, sorry to be this blunt]

@McKenna Berdrow, i dont like the idea, so a guild would ocupy an entire map for few minutes then that map would be empty and since this would lead to more servers… what u guys want more empty servers for peoplez think they are good capping empty structures or more full map vs empty map?

Players dont defend, they only want to cap, the issue lies in the game mode itself it lacks alot and covering with more gimmickness is the wrong path, WvW siege gameplay it should be OK to have diferent population size, server with lower population should play on defense but in this game everything is so broken and easy free to take due gimmicky that players prefer to avoid the game during that time because they know how easy is to take strucutres, it makes people logoff when they dont have a ktrain on that map, or dont have superior number of players.

Please revaluate what needs to be changed/improved.

No more siege please. Make skill damage of people hit gates harder and able to attack walls, go from there. If people want to defend, they need to get off the wall and fight or attack from above with their own skills.

I know it will never happen, but it would be a really awesome event.

I’m mostly disgusted with the mobile cannons that were implemented. Still tired of arrow carts as well, but they really outdid themselves with these cannons…

How the game works that migh be hard, AC’s or anything on wall is easy to clear, and player stuck on siege will end on bags…
Some places player dont even need to atack the the towers, just build catas behind cliffs zones that will damage walls, within no range of the defenders.

Also there is quite a few situations.
The first is atacking blob tends to drop at first defender contack even if is 2 or 3 only want to ktrain empty structures.
The second is drop from wall it is hard, cause (i dont know how t1 is atm) but in other tiers, there are only 3 situations:
a) atackers are atacking a empty tower/keep.
b) theres only 2 defenders VS 30+.
c) atacking server get blobbed hard.

The game design itself it is to much deppendable on siege spam or player side skills spam, theres should be a QoL change on keep design where there were only a few place to drop siege or build from selected siege but would be much hard to AOE top walls, increase walls hight wit very limited place to drop siege.

This would make players having time to organize and need to drop from walls, if the server dont bail at minimal contak with defenders (wich is what i experience more when defending)
Every atack needs to take time and not be a free thing to take wich what most gw2 players want, a easy reward for map GG.
With pressure every keep/ tower will run out of supply they will have to push or loose, the issue is that players tend to quit defending or blob bails out due need of effort.
Something needs to change.

they are srurdy/tanky without loosing much damage and got alot of mobility with GS :P

They even make bunker guards look like paper while bunker guard does no damage, has no mobility(same as necro) and their lack of damage will not ven hurt the warrior.

Warrior has poor trade offs, they need to sacrifice more like some other classes do…….
Or:
Maybe classes with poor desingage or no desingage at all arent being rewarded well….

I main warrior, and I dont care what you guys think of it xd as long as I love it everything is oke. I agree, i hate people that run away aswell. Mostly I Just laugh at them and continue with the roaming.
But from my experience the most runners are thiefs.

That moment when you think the thief is in stealth and you trying to predict when hé aproaches and suddenly you gain regen cause your out of combat… xD I think we all experience this one multiple times.

Butyeah, i mean why crying about warrior mobility? Go play revenant If you want to counter warriors with power en toughness so bad. I dont see the issue

My issue is not warrior running away, it is the all they tend to have packed, good damage and defense/sturdiness and mobility(GS) most cases.
Besides theres quite a few things in warrior that are in need of a QoL.

This game works in multiple’s of 5, not 4. It’s not GW1 anymore. SO the number you would be looking for is 10v10. Otherwise I completely agree!

That means that maps need much more lanes than 2… reason they did only 2 lanes for
one party of 5.

They are trying to reacg somewhere while game dont support it ….. and w/o preparing the game for.

They should focus first on changing what needs to be changed before bork up stuff they add.

It happens, sometimes we found a few 5-6 stacked bots stucked in some part ofthe map, bots are super dependable of programmed paths, would be cool if Anet start to made stealth changes to the maps.

What WvW’s want?
We want stuff to get fixed, and the game to actually get better.

-Less AOE/cleaves being spammed, so players need to l2p, atm gw2 is the most dumb online game (skill rebalance would even make pvp way much better).
And then boost/improve classes for aoe gameplay like ele/necro.

-Some structures need to be revaluated:
EB towers.
Every keep in desert BL.
Walls are to easy to AOE, when in this game keeps are already builted in valeys…
Some walls get damage in places where u cant built siege to defend that mountain wall the the closest place to drop siege is easilly aoed even pre built siege wont work
Anet needs to stop the dumb gameplay and low effort mmo.

Make CoR 1 target so Rev players l2p instead of spam in hope aoe skill does the job for them.

The game has to much aoe spammable skills overall , its a dumb game to play reason pvp is a disgrace.

Since they are spirits, they could make them … invunerable to phisical damage and take condi damage only :P

@Fashion Mage.3712, if they did that or at least make SW scale with player stats that would be really really cool, we could use them on power builds, condi/fire builds and defensive gameplay/healling support.
IF they contintue to be squishy as hell, they need to have stronger duration and stronger effect while in game, game changer when user cast them :|

So…ever planning on fixing this? Last night I got hit by 5 cor’s instantly while standing behind a gate trying to rez someone….

I hope they never “fix” this. It’s one of the few counters for door catas and similar siege-troll tactics.

That is one of the worst reasons ever for not fixing a bug. I was not even on siege, or against the gate, I was standing about 900 range behind the gate.

Gimmick VS gimmick = Anet balance….. players love low effort gimmicks…

Why do people care about SW?

because they were supposed to be a pretty huge part of guardian, early on we got glimpses at the classes through a fancy piece of artwork this is the guardian one.
SWs can be and should be a viable playstyle as they were intended,
not simply forgot and left for dead.

Also they counter range classes, shield 5 SoA + SW SoA rotation it is a nice damage avoidance combination against some classes.
That is the reason i do care about SW, mostly the shield, the other 3 dont have any use.
Tried even to use bow command on a zone where DH F2 would land, meh to much stat sacrifice as usual to make it decent healign burst as usual.

Shield besides A.I is fine. (well… health and CD are huge drawbacks as obvious, i still wonder why Anet needed to nerf SW long time ago…).

Issues are:
Sword and Hammer die in1-3 hits, they are slow every class can outrun them, shield and bow use same A.I as sword and hammer so they wil try to melee in close range this show how awful Anet is on building the classes and their skills.

And Buran.3796: check my signature… :] pitty this game went to the noob friendly spam gimmik thing…instead of have decent mechanics, and Anet never cared to fix alot of things in this game, and prefered to throw sand toplayers eyes by giving them HoT spec so they could ignored what needs to be fixed….

And honestly they shouldn’t be viable anyways. NPC gameplay is dumb and is archaic design from launch that rightfully died off.

SW SoA is the only decent utitlitie from those :\m, DH, ReV, Ranger\druid, pistol thiefs spammers just keep shooting at the dome….

Usually i take that on WvW alot, its a block(with traited blocks effect), stunbreaker and a range absorver, than can be moved so against druids and their LB and scale pet combo.
It is a very decent skill.

If you’re killed 0-100 in seconds, you must be really bad.
Even a trait grant you the shield skill 5 to save your a*s when in troubles, or if you need more stability there’s the trait that grant you two stacks instead of one.
Yes, you can’t chose when to active your stability but 2 stability (traited) for 3 sec (or more, depending on your build) every 5 sec when you dodge is not a lack of stability.
You have a Lot of evades and blocks with sword/shield and staff, too many of them.
Your damage is one of the best of the game, you can burst down a large amount of class in 1v1 easy and fast.
Conditions can be a problem but if you use mallyx you can be all right. Also the staff clean conditions with skill 4. But yes, the main build don’t have so much condi clean. the point is that frequently the enemy is dead before he’s able to stack enough conditions to kill you.

The revenant is still the best class in both offence and defence. Just make more practice.

It’s now every 8 seconds after the new patch, please read the build notes before commenting. You’re exaggerating a bit about some parts, but mostly correct, if a condi reaper is below 50% LF when you start dueling then the power Rev should win. Not against mes or a good condi warr though.

Rev can kill anything. I kill people as rev all the time that are direct counters to the class, but I mean I was winning 1v2’s as shout warr pretty consistently prior to HOT. That doesn’t really mean the class hasn’t been over nerfed. The room for error is too small and often times an error on the class means an immediate death, and with combination of the many weakness rev now has, you have to put yourself in ideal situations almost all the time to get the best out of it.

Revenant is favoured vs condi warrior

No, it’s not. Condi warr has stuns/condi/blocks. Everything rev is weak to. You’re not good at warrior.

I am good at warrior, I’m Obindo, using friend’s account atm for forums, mine got temporarily suspended. And yes it is favoured against condi warrior.

Land one stun, condi load up rev… Force rev to play defensive if not already dead. Rotate blocks, evades, land one stun again condi load rev. Rev is dead.

I just gave you perfect formula to kill 99% of revs in game.
