Gw2 is know to be awfull pvp game u migh like to start with that.
Tons of aoe+cleaves spam, poor trade offs etc…Ummm are you serious about gw1? They had flavor of the month overpowered builds for PvP and PvE all through that game. Touch Ranger, 55 Monk as a couple of examples. For my PvE play I used a Necro/Rit build on my heroes that slaughtered the mobs we went through.
Seriously… 55hp monk was only for mob farm…. if Anet wanted to kill that build they could do it…. and a simple rend echantments would kill any guy who tried to bring that crap to pvp, monks could even have spell breaker, but would end be ignored and killed after SB effect…
ABout Ranger well, ive won some R/Ngroup spike gvg’s, was a bit broken but only supper effective against low rank guilds, still was needed more skill and team organization that gw2 needs, the timings were important.
The issue with gw2 is that the metas are not hard to pull, thus not much skill is needed (wins who finds the best effective gimmick, imo that is unskilled), all that is needed is high damage, if aoe the better, being whatever game mode is.
Every one does alot of damage, while on spvp some classes are in need of certain stats that are missing, it is a matter of burst or be bursted die and repeat, class roles gets ignored, poor tactics on class select etc.
Oh… and the gap between metas from gw1 and gw2, metas on gw2 are easy to pull and much more efective, but that is what gw2 is about, carry players, i do feel carried when playing some builds, still i hate it.

It didnt change a thing…. as expected it is the same with smaller values, if the gap get arround 10skirmishes betweem 1st and 2nd, 1st server already won, and this happens most of times 48h after the reset…
Neither links and skirmishes are solving one of the problems this game has…

DH is just plan overpowered tbh, this season will have been the worst by far. Nothing will change it, they could of rebalanced the DH but chose not to.
But that is all the game is about, They just gave that to DH for the class be in pair with other classes damage output, and if AOE the better.
I wish Anet made traps single target and alot of cleaves become single target as well, then define better aoe skills.
Theres to much damage splash in this game. meh it doesnt even help visually for who is observing the game.
Am I the only one that feels like the account-wide guild system is an obstacle?
It would be nice, for me atleast to be a member of a PvP guild on my dedicated character, PvE character and so on. Right now you end up being kicked out for not representing on all your characters.Dont get me wrong, I understand and do not argue 100% rep. But I’d wish I could be in a guild per character.

Imo i dont think that Guardians gain that much from boon duration nowadays, rather have blocks for the heal than expect regen does its work, before getting corrupted.The reason boon duration went out the window back then was because of the nerf to boon duration runes and the remaining sources were highly inefficient like crap such as stuffing doubloons in exotic trinkets— just inherenly suboptimal and overall gimmicky as all hell.
Nowadays, boon duration comes with strong runes (durability) and strong stat combos such as wanderers and commanders that do not sacrifice many base stats to accomplish their goals. At a certain point you are able to survive any hit and are able to invest in luxuries like boon duration power or healing power or whathaveyou and still survive easy. Being overly tanky helps no one— it’s not like you can body block cleaves or AOEs.
The result is someone almost as tough as full pvt/sentinels yet able to more effectively support the group. There really are no losses here. And then there’s the potential offense increase.
And sure corruption is a problem, but it’s much easier to crap out boons than it is to strip them. There are many more ways to give AOE boons than there are to AOE boon strip/corrupt.
Simply put, with Heralds crapping out resistance/swiftness (thus covering all guardian weaknesses) and the fixes to stability, it’s a great time for any support guardian.
+1 so much this. Boon Duration between 2013 and release of HOT was terrible after ANET fixed the mixing of runes like monk/water etc. Now Wanderer and Commander gear is very efficient. Durability runes are awesome. Plus boon duration food. You can get very good duration . You can have good damage/toughness and boon duration all in one.

Still that" tanky" is inexistent in guardian class, warrior is the true tank of the game while still has alot of damage at same time since they dont need to invest in vitality that much.

Pp thf eats up dhs who carry no shield or sword. So it works on hammer/lb medi trapper and full trapper.
pretty much that, when play againt thief, on pvp or wvw im forced to swap staff for sword/focus mace/shield combo.
Since i tend not to use traps… well they know im a free bag, Anet made DH relly to much on traps… imo, since i play with shouts i have really a hard time, sicne i dont get that trap damage.
But that is the issue that Anet has, gimmicks over good gameplay. :\
To many trade offs compared with some classes.
low health guard, means it is build for damage output, if a players know how to countger DH f3 and its traps, DH cant do much and will lok like a ragdoll, plus this game is to much aoe spam based wich is one of the DH f3 weaknesses.
If we want toughness (sturdiness). that is not good for this class, defense of DH comes from active blocks and dodges, while healing power is a joke and any healing power we invest we are killing the build.. due damage ouput of other classes.
ANd the most reason it is wrong to play on defense is that gw2 is designed for Offense > defense.
If we want vitality, we wont have the damage ouput that other classes have, in terms of surviability we dont gain much either.
DH still rellies in 2 traps to actually hit hard on target.
Guardian DH, have a stats\skill quoficients issue, we sacficice alot for good damage, and we sacrifice damage for barelly hold 2 hits, other classes can still hit hard even if they were on bunker specs while DH/guardian cant.
The only thing i wish Anet “balances” in this game is the AOE+cleave spam…
Reduce aoe skills, reduce cleaves, make better aoe skills on staff elementalist etc.
More trade offs, more options.
Less lag being spammed.

In EBG you would be able to glide from Red keep or Veloka to Ogrewatch tower.
Perfectly fine and balanced, game is all about ktrain anyway…it feels that is something that Anet would not mind to add to their game…
Altough having a defined path for gliding aka glide scouting would be nice, and it would fit the desert BL , start in garri and make a clock wise path, with 5 scouts max gliding.
Player while in glide cannot land nor quit scout gliding until futfill the scouting path, players could have a flag to alert enemies on map etc.
And a reward at the end depending of the number of enemies discovered.

Thief (Shadow Duelist) Ability to use offhand sword based on Stance and Shadow step sword skills, atm it feel like thief lacks alot, every class do alot of damage and thief is not adding nothing new to the game.
So i tough of something that thiefs could do:
Pious Concentration [utility stance] : On shadow step skill gain, 4… 6 seconds of quickness, and one random boon between 15 migh or 15 fury, whenever hitting targets with a stance you gain 2 seconds of stability, and target stance end, cant be dazed while on movement, target cant get adrenaline for the next 8 seconds.
Shadow of Haste [utility stance] :Gain 25 seconds you move % faster (faster than 33% if possible or make a way for thief really move faster) than the actual speed, reaching the limits, you do half damage to target, every stance and and boon target gain, you will enter in same stance and gain boons for half duration, spend 30% less initiative on sword skills while under Shadow haste stance.
Attacker’s Insight [utility stance] for 15 seconds Gain stamina per hit, whenever player blocks dodges or blinds you, your are teleported to adjecent position, if a Shadow Step is used,you will gain 3 seconds of quickness, clear 2 conditions, and next 2 skills are unblockable, ICD 4 seconds.
Duelist Covenant [Heal stance] for X seconds while you mantain this stance your shadow step skills do 20% less damage but cost X% less, 40% of damage is tranfered to health, max health healed is X(value), when it ends gain stealth.
Mark of Insecurity [elite stance] Every atack you do will inflicts vulnerability to target, get a damage boost based on 1% of your initiative, nearby traps run in your favour.

*Projectiles:
– Omega golem missiles
– Fireball (ele fire atunement auto atack).
– Combo Finisher: Physical Projectiles.
– Thief Pistol skills.
– Some Ranger longbow+shotbow skills.
– Pets that use projectiles.
– Some warrior rifle an bow skills.
- Conditions from Projectiles will pass trough dome.
Theres to much AOE and cleaves in this game.

That probably means sanctuary and Spirit weapon would have to do the same «, besides we have 2 SoA skills, one on shield and other in Spirit weapon.
block all atacks(block has a mechanic itself, we already have a good amount of block skills), i think would be to much, but absorving more skills i think it would not hurt the game, besides skill is easilly interrupted never last that much
Absorving some aoe skills, would be interesting, but yeah guardian domes should feel more like the dome thackery uses when we start the game :\
I would not mind if guardian domes root/slow player again if really they actually give some anti-aoe/range spam. (that actually would give a decent purpose for maces/hield shout guard).
Still i dont think Anet plans to make game “that complex”… dont forget that most gw2 players if cant spam and high damage, class isnt viable or game becames to hard.

PIPS/division should just have nothing to do with match making. This game has the single worst match making system I have ever seen.
That is how games tend to pair equal skilled players nowadays, just look how rocket league and the mobas do their stuff.

The real issue in WVW is the server structure and the WvW format , but that Anet will never change, so u guys migh have 4-6 servers stacked in one server, that might hide the issue.

Altough some thief/mesmer mobility (on the utilities) feel would interesting, dual daggers?

Lag happens in every game, in heavy aoe spam situaitons, and being gw2 very aoe spammy, well deal with it.
All they need to 2 is reduce the aoe and cleaves spam, making classes like ele staff, ele necros very unique if players want aoe builds, abd also reduce by alot the cleave skills on this game, * less ticks, less calculations, less lag*.
All other classes and ele(some ele weapons) builds become more single targeted.
Most classes even ahve AA cleaves, and that 1 hit with 3 cleaves is the same as 3 players auto atacking in other games, now sum all other classs spamming 1, and the AOE, game hardly gets betters while Anet dont change this.
Funny how Gw2 mechanics contradicts the game itself… aoe spam based, while game cant handle it, while Anet refuses to update the skills for better gameplay and performance…
Such a shame…

As a EU player all i can say is come play to NA servers…. borklinks on NA are in better shape than EU.
There are to many servers in EU, and borklink system isnt the solution for all servers.
Besides Anet dont fix stuff, they just change to how the same happens within diferent events.

The boonshare mesmer alone isn’t very impressive. It will only work good if you have a tempest and/or a revenant with it. Sure, it can still give a good ammount of boons by itself, but in that case you could problably use a guardian which have more reliable stability/might, AoE block and good damage.
So, boonshare is top notch, but only if other supports are present.
^best option, revs increase boon duration 50%, apply constant boons, this alone is amazing for support on hammer revs.

That is what i use has well, squad LIST menu is has a issue that gets cutted.
Grid option is useless for what i pay atention, that is why i need the option for LIST view fixed.
SoA is ment to obsorb single target only skills, GW2 is based on AOE spam, thus skill cannot counter what Anet wants players to spam.
That is the logic.
Can u imagine the amount of QQ that would make? players dont want to time well their skills they wan to press buton and make damage, having a class that counters them with a press of the buton would be to much, alot of players dont even know how to counter DH f3, can u imagine if our bluble would also obsorb magical aoe range stuff???
altough since game is to forgiving and easy on reaching high spam capabilities in group, it would make sense to use shield for that, altough gw2 isnt ment to be a game where have to think much.
Still conditions still go trough SoA dome, while the phsical damage is absorved.

Really? I thought the problem was with our character to be honest. Usually we are more willing to let our team members do their own thing and meet back later. Now it suddenly was an issue.
Personally i don’t think my toon should be ordering everyone around and having Marjory go off with Lazarus to keep an eye on him seemed like a good idea. Not sure what our objection was – she can clearly handle herself and Lazarus wanted to harm her, well he would have done so by now.
yeah i felt this to, we are the commander that gets easilly manipulated by every other characters.

At this point Rytlock is the only one that speaks to you as an equal and like an adult.
Indeed uncle Trombone is the best npc atm, Anet is doing a good job with Taimi as well, a character that i used to hate, Caithe i feel that the character migh become to lame, if they insist in all this forgiving plot thing, i rather see Maj and Caith with cut relations, while Caith starts pushing Maj to be much of a loose cannon, that will do something crazy, as she will end using Lazarus for something, since lazarus resurected, it made me sense that she would try to rez her sister.

Both.. are but that is what gw2 is about.

Still i must admit, on by bunker 30khp guard build….. if i want to kill someone im forced to use 2 traps, game gets alot easy with traps :\, i have won 1 vs3… by just deploying traps..
Still that is the skill that is required to play this game, use that makes you win :\, thats all that is needed.

Anet hates builds diversity, that means every builds should be gimmick.
It is to soon for more broken stuff, whie migh get a traitlines that echances some of actual weapons to be in pair with broken elite specs.

Free can not save GW2,The gem store update will only allow the number of GW2 players less, make ANET more poor.
While i dont get what u ment here, i think free was the only solution Anet had players to try the game still, still every one i show the game while i present it in a neutral sense as in a game they have to try, all end laughin how bad this game is, pretty but a awfull game.
Some were gw1 players, those are the 1st that quitted gw2 due how dumb they feel this game is.
Or just end boon share, and then analyse and change what forces guilds to run boon share.
Damage is to easy to deal, to much aoe/cleav spamming, poor tactics overall etc..
This game needs more complexity, and groups/players need to get more comnunications/organized instead of just use gimmick setups.

Im not saying Anet should be good at the game because clear evidence shows they are not but why are the in the same match as a ESL players when he could literally go 1 vs 4 against them and we would have to take bets/ find vegas odds makers/ or go to fan duel to see who everyone is betting on.
If i can, its hilarious, helseth is always funny to me but it just brings up more questions for me about the game.
Helseth is an EU player, but in this video he was playing on an Alt account to mess around on NA. So the most likely reason is that the MMR on his NA account was fresh and hadn’t been fully developed yet.
Thats fine but Helseth has posted many videos on what was wrong with ranked and unranked.

Anet developed the game to be like this, metas were sopose to cut the pro players skill and non pro players skill intervall much shorter (close gap between those 2), why every one playes the easy damage output build every will look at least decent, so they cant see it has “what is wrong”, for them use builds that do 3 hit to kill players is called players skill, and thus makes game more easy for alot of players.
The videos also demostrates what makes people quit the game, but not because it is hard to survive, it is because the effort to kill isnt that much Anet carries alot of players reason metas are created over class balance wich make some classes even loose its objectiveness with all this free and achieveble damage that groups skill is a thing of the past (not taking credit out of Helseth he is a good player and he is showing how easy this game is to play).
Gw2 is known to be a dumb pvp game overall, a pretty game with dumb gameplay (nto my words, but ive learned to see the game this way), to much spam, aoe’s and cleave’s, Anet did a huge mistake by fast combat while they dont even know how to do it.
Gw1 > Gw2…

Welll game migth be on good spo(* in what is possible with all this borked setups *)t, still it is one of the worst mmo’s i ever played, Dev’s prefer broken gimmicks, intead of actually make a game that needs brains :\
Add, a division down as well…not only pip loss on its division.
Gyardian is in general in very good spot.
The only thing i miss in guardian is a mobility trait or utility for that 25% soeed buff. Is really slow and if you oaly other classes, this tend to be a huge problem for some of us.
I personaly have runes of traveler and for fractals i m using a speed booster(i have almost a stack of them)
Guardians are not ment to be mobile, if players want mobility we get it via gap closers, sword 2, gs leat, DH F2, and meditations.
A nike guardian is possible.
Guy makes money from playing game, openly trash talks games developers calling them kittenes and kittens….
Doesn’t seem like a good employment decision >.<

It shows how easy this game is, all u need is damage and if aoe the better.

“i died as class X?” lets increase damage to compensate.
Guards are just too good with their symbols and traps aoe damage on a small point. Where they used to be roamer dps, they are now intended to bunker on points while still doing massive damage due to traps (was fighting a guy with menders ammy and he was pretty much unkillable, while easily killing 2 ppl on his own with timed traps and there was nothing I could do). Simply reduce their aoe capabilities and we’ll be good.
Adding cast time to traps won’t solve much, since interrupts on demand aren’t a very common sight. Also, once a trap is dropped, cast time or not, it’s still gonna do massive damage.
Meditrapper is the only thing that works on Guardian/DH, all other classes have gimmicks builds to, some are just more efficient than others, if players are beign carried well that is what gw2 is also about to.
U just need to pay atention and play with what makes you win.

To much damage? wth?? i do 800 damage with my mace on soldier stats….and 1.2k crits… warriors, rev, hits over 10k on bunker guards…wich is no existent in spvp.
DH\Guard is forced to be in meditrap based builds to actually be in pair with other classes, and good players dont have problem with DH’s.If traps get nerfed some Warrior and Rev damage output on some skills need to be toned down to, it is to easy to achieve high damage builds on this game with poor sacrifices on some classes, and DH is not one of them, at least not top on this area.
And just one traps does some very high damage, even on bunky stats i can do damage with that trap, i actually hate to use traps on DH, most time i feel a bit carried.
But sadly, Guardian traps need to work like they are working (sadly) for guardian be in pair with other classes damage output capability… wich is all that matters in this game, aoe damage.I know this post is nerf guardians, but i agree with you.
I mean all classes need relooked at since the HOT spec line came in. All the skill Cool Downs need looked at as some of the traits.
Like in 1 vs 1, all classes can survive or stalemate for extreme amounts of time. Yet if 1 person comes to help its instant death. Every class in the game is forced to play a form of DPS.
Its guardians right now but if they nerf that it will be something else simply because Anet refuses to balance PvP.
Well about high damage Thief and Berserker should be the classes with most damage output, im not against all classes doing the same, but some should perform better than others wich in this game it is a complete mess ( worst game balance and class design ever ).
Anet is making the gw2 also verry newb friendly players dont need to learn much in this game beside the simpliest thing has skill animation and know that their build hits very hard, wich Anet dont care about classes limitations, every class will do high damage, some better than the class that should be dealign the high damage.
Alot of classes have a very flawled concept to be played in pvp they are more for pve spamming, one of the reason that gw2 didnt had much viewers they tend to make people run away from the game than actually atrack more players, and who knows if game was less pve designed that would had bring known esl groups to the game.
At this point gw2 is know to be a awfull pvp game, the game balance actually damage alot the game int the last 2 years.
