Why didnt the dredge tunel was changed, so no catas were placed at the end of the tunel???
´Just place some rocks as if the cave colapsed or soemthing.

Toughness is useless, use shield trait only if u want to CD on shield skills.

GW1 = balance nightmare… Although somehow they managed to keep it rather well balanced…

GW2 = Much easier balance (ffs we can’t even change our 1st 5 skills)… Although somehow that manage to fail spectacularly at it…

Not everyone belongs in legendary – it should be hard to get into.

As for the second question – no.

Everything sounds great, but are really people skilled to reach lengend, or it is a matter of build and class stacks/burst rotation most cases?

Wouldnt a division down system would help to sanitize the system, after those fixes??

Just scrap the Bloodlust mechanic alltogether, it was by far the most useless part of the alpine bls anyway. Usually nobody even bothered with capping it, if it wasn’t for the daily.

If you were a pve’er asking for a free ( or easy) Gift of Battle, wvw’ers would answer you :" work for it". I think it’s the same with Fractals specific gear ( in this case infusion slots).
It’s not that hard, especialy now with the golem selling the mats to infuse/attune your rings. No more RNG. You should give it a try.

I do agree with you, still i would not mind to get some ascended stuff on WvW :|, even if needs to be completed with fractals :|
That probably would make me start doing pve/fractals.

Double oil damage

Usually i cast sanctuary and stability concecration on who is on the oil, this is if the player there is really being effective using the oil.
sometimes i get on its back using my blocks to heal and remove condis.

OIl tends to be the 1st thing to get removed, i would not mind if aoe zone would be increased.
People nowadays barelly use rams(unless it is the only way to enter), 90% of the cases it is siege on unreachables places, where outmaned server cant do much..

most (if not all) of the original GW1 team are no longer at ANET.

Two out of three company founders are no longer in the company. The brand name was sold to keep the players, but the game itself became korean MMO.

IF it was a korean mmo, you would have a decent crafting system, dungeons rewards would be only in dungeons, you would had decent rewards in WVW , there was no EOTM, people could do anything in WvW and craft stuff.

Towers/keeps would be more than just ppl and increase your health pool, each tower would have its own tresures and diferent types of rewards.
Players/guild would be reward for how long they could hold that zone, and improve itwould make better rewards for everywone deffending and atacking arround that part of the map.
Aoe would be strong but not the only way to play the game.

Oh and WvW players could get ascended….

Tissitra.4153, guardian/dh have that cause they cant run aways like some classes do, they cant reset combats, all they can do it use blocks well timed or try to and hope players kill themselves on the traps.

or that they can pull the combatant into the traps, or push them through the traps, or teleport to the enemy and instantly drop a trap on them, or put up a block and hit from range or any other of a number of very sick tricks to take down their opponent.

Look, DH is not over powered in most game modes. It’s only spvp that they are overpowered in. And really, even there you can deal with one. It’s when you have two or more that things get stupid. If the spvp matches restricted players from having more than one of each class, then you would not see so many complaints, but then if they did that, you would have even longer queues.

It is not OP, it is strong but, do you really think balance team cares about pvp, why do u think pvp team is forced to remove some stats from the game??
DH wonly works with power creep situations and bursts, wich game is all about, fast spamm skills, lots of damage, u burst and get bursted, fleee/run if u can, burst again if defense are in CD u will get bursted instantly, that is how game is on pvp or wvw even.
IT is ugly to watch, has much esl speakers are good game do not help them.
Gw2 should be reverted to a more team effort game like Gw1 was, more steady peace fight, excellent for the speaker comment the skills, what was on effect, the reason of the skill that was used, more team burst instead in character can do it all, etc…

Saddly all they care is to make the game so friendly to new players that they need to play gimmick rotations, all it matters it is classes with high spam aoe skills and the damage output to look good, and atrack more players.
It is the wrong path of a game that want to be esl or decent.

Crimson Clouds.4853, Anet tried that in the past, people didnt liked since they had to hunt a few traits.

Imo would be nice if Anet added more weapon skills, to hunt, so we can change or have a bit of diversity on weapons, the issue is they cant balance what they actually have, so im asking for the impossible….

Oh, you’re right. I should have said I wish it were Ascended because that’s the only way I’ll ever get Ascended armor.

yup, or u could be a good skrit and convert gems to gold, follow a crafting guide, craft tons of stuff u wont ever need, burn the gold, until u reach 500 and craft finnally what u need….

I cant reach ascended armor to, and im at arround 430 at armorsmit and weapon…

Actually the cannon absolutely CAN reach to the back of the dredge cave. Not knowing how to do it is not the same as something not being possible.

It absolutely CAN NOT reach the back of the cave. I attached a screenshot with the ground target lit up. That is the max range. Catas can be built all the way back to the water in that cave and were able to hit the wall.

Even if in some magical world it had mortar level range, a player could not sit on that cannon for more than a few seconds without a staff ele or necro lighting it up.

it wont reach, btw stuff is designed to not be holded, that creates movement, this is not a RvR game where stuff is defended equally to offense.
Theres alot of easy spots to drop siege and easy cap, and if adversary server have numbers aoeign everything… well just go play another game.

Removal of shrines, much less rock walls with longer changes, i tihnk a litle bit is ok we can lure some range players to that place and play with their LoS, but how it is now it is to much.
Remove Keeps buffs, walk in lava, jump form cliffes , to much gimmicks killed the game.
Improve rewarding system on keeps besides ppt, capped stuff needs to server for something valuable, players dont care about ppt, only to farm nodes that are inside and the chest.

Oh and health, why on hearth or tyria in this case, the server that is outmaned since has less capped stuff players have less HP????

i think sandstorm is nice :P, altough valeys should be clear of sandstorms.

I am also getting myself some gear for a dungeon solo build that uses blocks and shield as its backbone. A lot can be said about our traits, but noone can argue that when it comes to on block (and aegis) effects they are great.

I think we sacrifice(it is to risky)a bit ot much for some aegis effects.

We need to use invigorated bullwark blocks (by active and close gameplay) to increase healling effect, that migh put us in trouble, Guardian is a squishy class due its health, if bad timed out on a block we might be in trouble…

edit: this is in WvW gameplay im talking, not pve.

the link system is meant to complement the small population of players in servers, not something to look forward to fixing the problems of the desert borderlands.

The issue with desert BL is the lack of player but if Anet had more players (map player limit increased) game will lag alot, the skills being spammed with just a blob aoeing walls and gates, we already have lag, if we had the right number of players fighthing in the dbl…. would be unplayable…

I would say also the issue that Anet has on WvW is the lack of depth and vision for the gamemode.
They cant even fix pvp and the removed stats….

what do you think is the cause of the lack of players at DBL aside from a low population server? ever tried borderlands yourself? face it, no one likes DBL even after the changes they made. the difference between DBL and alpines are a huge gap when it comes to gameplay. replacing a good functional toy and replacing it with a bandaged broken toy thinking people will like because “it’s different” is just plain daft, if you think just replacing and increasing the number of children playing the broken toy is going to help, well have i got news for you.

Well, i think it is a bit of both, players and Anet.

Players want easy reach and low effort maps(EB and Alpine) , i think all maps should be the size of DBL, Anet kinda brainwashed players to deppend to much on dumb gameplay, that player will cry hard if effort is needed.
But still, Anet incist/forces bad(awfull) and very very gimmick design, all the gimmicks effects went wrong.

Now many thing went wrong in DBL design, keeps design are a joke, they require alot of players to defend while game does not support that m,any players, if resulted in every one aoeing… expect the lag, good think the laser beam is out…
It also lacks real good feactures, instead Anet added few weird stuff, like walk in lava, jump from cliffes and all those strange shrines.
The game lacks lacks alot overhall…

Gw1 is a much(way much) more skilled game than gw2.

On gw2 players just need to know they do alot of damage, it is spammable, and if it is aoe the better.
It is a very unskilled game for unskilled players… it should not be even on esports..

Gw2 is ment to be very noob friendly.. look at ranger example from gw1 where:
players needed to know wich bow they would use in the situation.

The flatbow has a fast attack speed, long range, but poor accuracy. The horn bow has a slow attack speed, medium range, medium accuracy, and 10% armor penetration. Well game is based on easy gimmicks, it helps the bad players to with a skill ratation and simple dodges, that is what gw2 is about, players just need to play what is super effective, it is not a much players kills game since easy gimmicks also help new players and bad players, it is a game for everyone.

It is all about who plays better the gimmick.

it is th aoe+cleves+traps, it is not only the traps this game is to much aoeish and very spammish, u dont need much skill to burst, but u need reflexes to avoid it, it is a simple game.

New RVR games?? expect 2019+ even so most wont be what players are expecting….
Camelot Unchained, ive seen some of the work on some interview, classes and fight system looked pretty complex and fun, altough i fear game will be a bit demoralizing in graphics(players on care abaout rewards and pretty graphics nowadays) for the time it will be released.

Gw2 has pretty graphics but is a empty botle or the liquid inside is a mess, sometimes imo it is better to sacrifice in graphics and have more fun with what u can do in game and how.

Link system is not ment to work well… it is ment to create farming trains while smaller adersary groups capture back, setting up big server or large stack vs 2 smaller servers, this creates the tower/keep flipping while the others need only to cap back and creates a visual activity that everything is working fine, cap and cap back, wich is all that WvW has to offer.

WVW is by far away what players expecting for a RvR system, its just the old AB with walls and more stacked players aoeing everything with numbers.

Game didnt evolve much for the player… not in a clever way.

They need to decrease the aoe and ticks, less server calculations, game is to aoe spammy while cant hold it.

more single target, longer CD AOE’s but a bit stronger(something added to skill), more clever fights intead of aoeing each other almost mindlessy…

Just a random question: Why the red map?

1. DBL is easier to defend.
2. Some folks hate DBL, which means less traffic and therefore a small boost in ppt for the lowest ranked server.

Honestly, I think it’s more like to make it symmetrical. The two different maps in the middle (DBL and EBG) and the two of the same on the sides.

It has nothing to do with symmetry…

Until a 3rd map take the green or blue spot, my point still stand my friend.

Red = desert
Blue = shiverpeaks(icy mountain, rocky) based design
Green = alpine, florest map based

It might go this way, it makes sense i guess.

Block ? I play unblockable build on Necromanter and eat all guardien every single game. Guardian is really bad class vs player with brain.

^Quote for truth, the thing is that many players want to be carried by their damage output and dont want to outplay DH player.

For the logic of many comments about DH…. heres another expample why people dont want to think:
I fougth a ranger inside SoA, even SW SoA was OP against that ranger cause it just stand still inside the dome… while dome was absorving all bbow skills, now whos fault it is?

Swink.5172, u must be new… tell me what class isnt clicker in this game, u still balieve theres alot of player skill in this game?

btw a guardian with that many blokcs wont do damage, a guardian with 3/4 traps looses condi cleanse (still exist via f3 and block, wich is easilly countered/disrupted)… etc, guardian/dh is the easiest classs to defeat, they have a lot of counters, since they cant reset combats and loose mobility.

Some skills do not show in combat log, had a CoR clipped from ground slope, no red numbers no combat log, half damage to health, no red cracking comming, just the health damage.

Know it was CoR due, figthing a hammer rev at that momment.

Xillllix.3485, i guess that GW2 is ment to be that way, a game where u need to follow what Anet makes easy to play (try to find the easiest way to burst targets), a game were even bad(unskilled) players can look good (to an extend ofccourse).

That is why ranks and divisions are like something that players gather to “farm” good/decent sports/pvp games work totally different.

I can also agree that alot have changed, but that does not change the fact that WvW did not went all good with those changes. the issue is the impact of those changes did not improve the game, i felt the game is now much less skillfull overall, expecially on WvW, and looks like alto of people got tired of those changes.

Imo they loose to much time/resources on tunning WvW, to achieve a same mistake with different aproach, linking server is a good example, has nothign changed, big server vs small vs smallets, it is a karma train model… while someday somethign will apear with another name that will also no resolve the stackeck server nor improving the game.

They should change WvW to something simple that leads to wvw process being more mistake proof, keep it simple and with quality, the more weird resolves they add to the game more strange the game will become…

Anet talked about a inovate game,, yeah right while their are not being inovative to fix the own game problems, giving bad solutions (as in placebos or temporary fixes) is not being inovative, sometimes we need to start from something stable to achieve something inovative.

PariahX.6970, some npc stating a 3 faction war over Mist, resources would be a nice start for WvWvW, and a good lead for mething simple and easy to manage….

The servers population has a big gap, so get paired with diferent servers would not be a good ideea.

But yes WvW is to ugly to play atm :\ not much changed from its release, blob and wait until ur blobbed back, lack of objectives besides farm towers/keeps rewards.

WVW is useless for most classes builds…

Not really, most classes have a place, the only classes that really lack (to varying degrees) in zergs & guild raids are the medium armour classes.

Because AOE + range CC is all that matters.. that is why some classes arent needed.
Game has to much easy acess to AOE, that players arent used to think much what skill they will use, all they care is damage ouput+aoe.

On pvp the issue i have been calling is the lacks of stats on the classes where those stats were not op.
And should every class has it own stats? Because it was easier to tuned them up and down and achieve a good balance.

They do to much damage for the sustain they have , and unblockables… XD so annoying forces me to loose their LoS, when using rifle…

The “story” in WvW is that scrapper is one of the most useless classes, for guild raids, some guilds take 1, maybe 2, for zergs they are totally surplus to requirements, for roaming they are medicore in a group and solo they are trash becasue scrapper damage application is literally the worst in the game (which got even worse with the nerfs to things like hammer 5).

WVW is useless for most classes builds, all u need is AOE+range spam capabilities on a zerg via condi bomb or direct damage, who has more spammers wins.

If gw2 pvp is known to be a skilless system WvW is even worse…

The Guardian profession is balanced.

No other profession can do as little as 1,000,000 damage using Paladin’s Amulet.

How many players did not avoid traps, even when taking damage inside traps they were expecting to spam keys and still get the DH down? :P

Did you mean symbols? Because that’s where the majority of my damage came from, not from Test of Faith.

I ment both (traps and symbols )sorry.
I noticed some DH’s are staking symbols on top of traps wich is hilarious when some team mate gets lured like that…

The only thing i find anoying in scrappers is their stability capacity, if i recall scrappers need to catch target on its fields via thinderclap?, wich means “gtfo this place, damage inc”, overall they arent that bad atm, more nerfs arent needed

Altough i would not mind form them having migth reduced on the AA…

mov.1246, scrapper on WvW it is another story., get boon duration and u will have almost one minute boons with 3k armor 20k+ health + 2.4k, lots of condi cleanses, easy acced to stability and its duration…

1.30 minute might duration boon.. 10 sec prot each 16 secconds etc, not even guardians that are very dependable of boons cant achieve half of this.

only fix is to redesign to a very simple 3 way faction with several map for factions to control.
After that start addinf non gimmick features to the game mode when possible to slowly growth.
