All i tough was needed were build based on zerker and Destruction_of_the_Empowered.
P.S: there was a banner warrior were i was deallin 80 damage and he could hit over 8k on my 3.6karmor and 22khealth i got shredded in 3 seconds, sometime is hard to notice if is hack or really an OP(good) build.
He had all boons + very good boon duration.

Mobs prioritize high thoughness builds.
I feel that pain by having 22k hp and 3.5k+ armor :S, on wvw Camp NPC’s always want to hug me by force!
SBI is much better server than Darkhaven or NSP. We do the most with the least guilds of any server on NA. Darkhaven only barely wins these matchups because of their absurd coverage after NA SBI starts going to sleep.

All you have to do is look at the charts to see that the only reason SBI is as close in score as they are is because of “coverage”. You get the most points out of the early morning hours, before and around 8 am server time. (…)

WvW is all about coverage, NSP usually has arround 5 to 10 player in BL (sometimes 3), last time i logged there was a very, very big Swarm with the zerg mentality facing a empty server(SBI could take all towers and castles at same time with that many players), if this is your defenition of make more with lesser players you sir are wrong, in the other hand i wish NSP had that coverage :| .

and lastly @OP – i can’t speak for other classes, but for the Guardian at least, “tankiness” will not come strictly from raw stats, but rather your ability mitigate damage, to upkeep healing to remain topped up on health, to hinder your opponents from doing damage to you via… your various boons like protection, regen, vigor and using blinds and blocks to you advantage. remain mobile. be on your toes. always know your positioning and what you’re up against. then use the class mechanics, unique skills to help you overcome it all and rule the world. muahahaha/

As far i understand you and share same opinon, how the game is built its really hard to do a true living world, world and mobs are stale and you have instances that also divide in districs, know as overflows (that are shared with other servers players if i recall it right), the model that Anet choose to tell their living story of Tyria might be a closed envyroment with just one pré-defined ending , but for sure they wil improve how LS will work.
I’d add:
- Being able to WP in to contested keeps/castle
Solution: have the WP locked out during roll over- Being able to glitch into towers/keeps/castle
Solution: keep finding and fixing these- Lack of commander grouping features
Solution: short term, let commanders set a tag color; longer term, provide full commander grouping features

Dude, if you see a smoke field, dont walk inside of it, it blinds you :l …. Use the knockback outside of the field to knock them back. If you are downed, you can’t do anything if they drop black powder, but downed skills only delay the inevitible
As i said caster is not blinded it doesnt need to enter smoke field to cast sanctuary at distance, as example if castter use a traited santuary when it tries to save a downed ally with sanctuary, thief performs the stealth kill w/o being KB, ive noticed this as in allied thiefs do the same that is how i noticed thiefs werent being KB when finishing in that case.

On what server, it’s mostly fallen on everything except the top 5 or 6. The matchup system for wvw is crap. Plus the new solo queue looks pretty sweet.
I am personally on Underworld and have been since release and I would say it is quite busy most of the time.
It is also a fact that ArenaNet themselves have stated that the population in WvW is increasing.

Zerker isn’t OP. Other builds are useless. Simple like that.
I did a topic complaining about Healing Power, where you get 1500 of healing power in order to increase the base healing of the skills in an average of 23%. To get 1500 of healing power you must use all sets with healing as primary stats + full stacks of sigil of life (without counting runes). Healing power is the most worthless stat you can get.

That’s why gw2 is best damage oriented, toughness is not much importance as damage output (atack+crits) as some classes no matter ho much armor/tough have, they will always get hitted over 15k+.
example of killshot hitting guardian (elite tome was on )with 2.6k Toughness and hit 19k.
Zerker isnt overbuffed its just the high DPS and damage carrier for the group, wich is almost if not all that matters.
GW2 is a brainless kill fast game to avoid damage.

Here is my opninion about that thme-park u say.
Actually the only thing that limits that model is the “mechanics limit” of the game engine, having X districs and player limit due small maps and system load ( YES gw2 is small), is in my opinion a true KILLER for any MMO evolution, it has fitted nice in gw1, but now it does not even make sense, as it puts the game on a stale world that cant be living due conflits of happening/event ends and player decisions in the several districs of the same area/map.
If gw2 could improve to a seamless world would be more easy to get teh LS working properly, even new events and sub-events could introduced into a LS model, but nothing comes free, work on one more ending would be necessary but that would give players more time between the rain of achievements that gw2 turned to be and almost nothing else, if i want achievements i would play offline cloud Steam games or some FPS lan party tounaments with real prizes.
But each one to their own…
You were talking about WvW sandbox, a true sandbox IS always welcome, theme-park games can have a pre model of a sandbox system (openbox), by having pre builted options to choose when resources were met(YES resource system as RPG/Strategy ones, and then built, wich is not possible to again more “non permanent content” that WvW is due servers resets to fight for a ladder were skill is not the first, but numbers and coverage, (i would remove WvW and work on something w/o the server vs server).
The future of MMO’s success will be due player group immersion in server/game advacements carrying the players to take care and shape the WORLD.

TLDRThe world of Tyria doesn’t change it just stays the same and due to this even dynamic events lose their feeling of impact. thus making it so anything added doesn’t feel like it’s impacting the world making it really hard for players to notice new dynamic events across the world or when they do feel lik their actually changing something. We don’t help the world progress and the world doesn’t progress without us or the devs getting involved it’s forever stuck in the current state until Anet decided to jump in and change it. This is not, at least to me, in anyway living.

The fact that blackpowder makes your finishing move uninterruptable in a 1vs1 is something that really bothers me.
hate that to when i try to save a downed player with shield 5 and theres no KB on targets w/o stability boon.

The primary reason warriors are not better bunkers than guardians is the lack of protection. Warriors have none.
While a warrior may be able to get high amount of regen and have a higher health pool, they are weaker against burst builds than guardians. In addition a regen warrior has no burst healing.
A guardian can withstand burst better due to a very high uptime on protection and has burst healing. Furthermore, a regen warrior provides less support to the group that a shout guardian.
Dito, also Guardian best strength is not the healing but damage prevention, one thing i noticed is that guardian has the role of the protection monk, while warriors work more like the paragon, with alot of party buffs.

My shaders were all reset to High by this patch. In addition, my characters hair is now super-shiny, almost metallic looking. It looks MUCH worse than the prior non-shiny hair. Is there a way to adjust this in-game?

Thieves are FAR from OP, and in most cases/builds, stealth is the only thing keeping a thief alive. If you have played the class, you would know that thieves are easily counterable, even if stealthing. Please STOP these whining threads on how thieves are OP, stealth is OP, remove stealth, remove thieves, rework the class…. You either need to get better at the game, or play the class to actually learn to counter the class, because in all honesty, it’s really not hard.
There are more evil damage sources in wariror than 100b, i kinda agree with you, as thiefs need this mobility and at the momment thief is far from being the OP class from the game, one thing that makes tiefs reset combat or retreat is the damage players can make to them as example guardian with hammer 5 to lock thiefs and then change to 2h sword and blend, with a zerk+valk build for sure will kill or down most of the thiefs.
Now the problem is outside the 2h weapon set and with a bunker build (~25k health ~3.4k armor)i dont have many counter to it otherwise just being a punch bag and eventyally die due meditations or shouts being recharging and im w/o any defenses but that is the gw2 mechanics thats forces professions to use more some weapons than others IMO, hope the add of new traits and skills on further versions will solve this.

I use staff on city, becouse looks cool with my armor, more tan that would be needed a nerf, now seriouly staff on guardian is a situational weapon for zerglin just pressing 1,1,1,1 to aoe targeting, swiftness and might with boon duration runes, other than that since only comon mobs dont have stability in 90%+ of the situations i cast “you shall not pass”, and everyone can pass.
Well orb of light is another bad story how game is being handled (or feels like) when i have a target, if not in same X position orb will be shooted into the ground.

-The mobs and player invunerability due diferent hights mobs should persue player until out of sight.
-Trait system (theres already info that Anet will release more traits and skills wich is very very good).
- Visual variety, add more basic skins to drops or via manifacture.
-Damage take vs damage absorb, some classes no mater how much armor target have skills they wil always kill target w/o effort, this in my opinion lead to a very disguting fight system

I dont mind when thiefs cloack n finish, problem is in that state AOE knockback from downed guardian do not affect them, sometimes even dont work on other professions that dont have stability boon on, buit that is a another guardian skill problem.
75€ X2 to aquire game for 2 players, plus some 50€ gem’s cards and others from 20€-30€ dont want to sum it all, since i had cancelled some VPS server i had some cashflow to spare here.
This were to be the only game i were suposed to play but game turned to get borked enought over time.

Actually for me didnt killed at all, cause i prefer good game mechanics overall than graphics and a roll each 10 seconds, still playing some betas atm with simmiliar mechanics.
Not go down easy on this game dont quite exist unless you fight a lvl 80 with random gear, best way to survive is to kill fast, on a zer+valk and soldier even thiefs need to reset combat several times if they want to kill me, usually ends on them stuck on my hammer circle of death.
I runned a guardian with 22k health 3.8k armor and 30%boon just to see how toughness and armor works, i still get downed real fast couse dont make much damage output( player still able to hit over 5k per hit, due how damaghe works on gw2).
oH, use hammmmmer and 2h sword.

I’m not suprised at all, GW2 has no steam anymore.
Pretty much that, they throwed alot of good ideias in this game but they were badly or wrong explored, wich tranformed gw2 in a dumb and limited mechanics game, people get bored to fast pve is bad pvp is normal and WvW well is really a bad design, and no matter how much LS is in game will be always limited content with some minor games/puzles to do where Anet rewards players that waste time on this games, and for me this is not what a MMO is about, they really need to learn what went wrong and fix or improve.
There are really alot of cons on this game, just to name one: s you cant atack mobs that are on lower or on high positions they become invunerable, that mechanic leads to serious bugs that can be exploited as example WvW map , no matter how much reports from the place anet receives wont be fixed, IMO if theres is a valley/choke point and theres players or mobs obove or under your position none should be invunerable.

I can notice the difference in aggro I get on my Guardian whether I’m using my zerker gear, or my knights-mix gear, and when someone else in the party has higher toughness than I do.
humm on WvW supervisors tend do like me alot if i run over 3.7k on armor they will ignore other people, if i go zerker i get slap them alot and they will ignore me, unless i start criting on NPC real high.
GW2 is designed to allow you to tweak your class to fit your playstyle.
No, GW2 is designed to have everyone wear berserker gear and mow down mobs that they didn’t bother skipping.
Damage output is what matter on this game, kill fast and you will survive longer, toughness doesnt make much effect if being atacked by some one with huge damage output.
example:
valk+zerk gear and with longsword and hammer i can take several target at same time due high crit damage ~12k to light armors in WVW .
If i choose to get 2.4k toughness (~3850 armor) and 22k health i die with people hitting me over 10k with criticals, damage being reduced by souths to 6k.
Yes… damage and critical is the way to go in here.

Guardians are always my first target , easy to anoy and kill… only 2hw crit guards can be anoying due their damage and CC, other than that Guardian mechanics are pure CC watch peopel fighthing, roll for heal, roll again for heal more CC and die…
