I know its not the best option, but maybe they should consider letting the bottom 3 servers, population wise, merge into the rest? Because even if they reset the ratings, in 2 months, ET and FC are going to be the exact same rating drain they are now.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
You liked the teen drama story of who can act the least mature in a situation that needs maturity, thought, and the ability to not waste time on stupid arguments(excluding Eir and Caithe the only 2 that actually had a level head and tried to get things done making them believable as leaders of their society). High school and middle school must of been a blast for you. Eir and Caithe were like the teachers trying to get the students to shut up and listen so they might actually get things done.
Are you trying to say that grownups can’t be stubborn or ignorant? Because you are greatly mistaken then. Destiny’s Edge aren’t exactly mad at each other over “who gets to go to the prom”. Someone died that shouldn’t had died. People in the real world get separated over less then that..
On topic: I was actually really starting to like the Flame & Frost story. Braham is pictured to be this tough norn, who’s the son of Eir, which fits for most of his story. But then at the end of his story, when you talk to Braham, he suddenly acts like a 10 year old boy, when he gets asked about a girl:
-So…who’s Ottilia?
-Ottilia? Who’s Ottilia? Well, she lives in Cragstead, and she’s… kind of beautiful. I mean sweet. She’s nice. Okay?
-Sounds like you’re sweet on her. Talk to you later.I really don’t understand who the writers have in mind, when they write this? There was a topic a while back, where players could write their age, and the majority of people who wrote in that topic were over 25 years old. This sentence sounds like it was written to an audience of 8-12 year olds. Why couldn’t they have written something on the lines of this:
-Who’s Ottilia?
-Ottilia? She’s the girl I grew up with. We’ve always been close. I asked her father permission to marry her, but…he said I wasn’t worthy yet. Maybe now I can prove to him, that I am. If they are still alive..
-I am sure they are. We will find them.Just imagine the fun if he burst into song!
-Who’s Ottilia?
-There’s a stead in the Shiverpeaks
In some crags, where the wind often shrieks
And the snow sometimes falls for weeks
But it’s what I call homeAnd there’s a girl in this frozen place
Oh so sweet with such a lovely face
And I long to feel her warm embrace
But her father hates my gutsI say there Ottilia, you’re a fine girl! (You’re a fine girl)
What a good wife you would be! (Such a fine girl!)
But your dad is just a big kitten who hates me!
Just want you to know I found myself humming your song to a nice medieval tavern beat. That’s just cruel man, going to be humming this all day.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
I have only ever seen one rare dye it was cobalt or some crap. I have opened probably 50-60 unid dyes the past 2 months just from killing creatures etc.
I’m firmly in the realm of character seeds again at this point, as my guardian never finds anything worthwhile and my fiance jumps on and finds a 4g dye in 10 minutes on her level 11 ele.
Such is life
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Started on DB and I won’t be leaving, we really do have an amazing off hours crew, It works great for me having weird hours to play, but we need some more NA prime coverage so it isn’t a losing battle during those hours!
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
I don’t see the point in fragmenting the PvP player base even more than it already is. I don’t think adding a devolved form of an RTS will help personally.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Because if WoW proved anything, it’s that you can take someone elses universe, change a few names, add kitten humor, make it even more cartoony, and make bajillions.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
To those who say the Sylvari are elves (And I didn’t read out the entire thread) I’d like to point out something I heard the devs said once… HUMANS fill the niche usually taken by elves in a narrative sense.
Loud, old, magical race, once powerful and very loud about it, and currently fading off for the younger races to take the mantle.
Well they need to come up with some playable races then, because right now we have Norn and Human and the occasional Sylvari who clicked the wrong button during character creation and couldn’t figure out how to go back.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
You want to not be allowed in any groups? Play a Necro or an Engi
Pretty much this. This is the main reason the classes are dying, because people realized why bring the B team heroes when you can have the first string?
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Edit: Also, if you look at the ppt evolution for DB, you’ll notice that it rarely drops below 200, even during the strongest times for YB. DB day crew has gotten significantly stronger over the past several months. It would take far more than a bit of a night crew for YB to actually beat DB in this matchup.
DB’s NA gets to defend the fully upgraded structures NNK gives them, and is rather infamous among YB players for constantly running away and switching maps when they wipe. In any case most of YB is in pve by this time of week as the outcome cannot be altered. So enjoy your +200 if you think that’s an accomplishment.
YB has at least roughly 8 hours (counting from NA afternoon till NA sleep time) to fully upgrade any structure before an “attack” actually starts. After that your oceanic/SEA gets to defend as well. Also, PPT-wise speaking, changing maps and taking easier stuffs grants you a win in the tier, not that it’s something I agree to do every time, but it’s nevertheless a good way to get points. Don’t tell me you guys never took anything without resistance.
Oh and, please tell YB that are in PvE to come back next week. +0 during SEA time is not fun at all.
Huge difference between NNK upgrading in complete peace and DB NA queueing their own BL whenever a WPed home keep is threatened, and YB NA trying to upgrade against genuine zergs and trying to defend NNK with about 20 pugs, max. But I wasn’t talking about symmetry at all, I was just pointing out that the structures that DB NA inherits makes them appear much stronger PPT-wise than they really are.
I won’t begrudge anyone “taking easier stuff” when the match outcome is still in doubt, but at this time of week we just want to fight, and its just frustrating to see our opponents intentionally seeking pvdoor. I guess I can understand losing your taste for battle after 10 wipes, but after just 1 or 2? Come on.
WvW is a coverage game, to complain or begrudge a server because they have better coverage is pointless. with that said, DB can use additional NA coverage; I think this point has been made week after week. Although, our NA could use more numbers we are doing a fantastic job keeping yaks from closing the gap during their prime time. Our SEA group is great and deserve a ton of credit for our servers successes.
I’m not complaining about coverage, I am arguing against this strange idea that DB NA is doing a “fantastic job.” You are doing approximately what could be expected given your numbers, ours, the structures you inherit from NNK, and the relative lack of a 3rd server.
It may seem strange to you, but having 200PPT during NA hours is pretty dang good for DB, especially against the zergs YB fields during NA prime. Anyone seen SoS lately?
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Actually, I wouldn’t even want to play a game with elves. I can’t stand them. And I’m not alone.
In fact, mmorpg.com has a column called “No Elves Allowed” about all the things that are traditionally in MMOs that the writer just can’t stand to see any more of. Ever hear the term “played out”?
Fantasy is a very very broad catagory. It’s long past time it’s expanded beyond elves and dwarves. I’m so glad they’re not in this game (and that Anet killed off the dwarven race in Guild Wars 1).
Honestly, I could stomach more elves before I have to deal with anymore undead/zombies. Nothing is more played out at this point than the undead.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
No, one of WvW’s primary purposes is to create large zergvszerg battles.
That being said, when zergs run around each other and backcap for karma training, that is where I think the problem lies.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Engineers are awesome in pvp, some of my best fights in wvw have been on my engineer.
It is NOT newbie friendly though, which is probably why you don’t see many. Warriors are just auto-attack heroes so you can get a good performance without much skill :p
And if you really wan’t easy mode play a staff/mace&shield guardian. You literally can’t die if you know what you are doing lol.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Well you have to be pretty into a game to make the websites and machinimas etc that advertise and support the game.
Without gw2lfg for example there would be more frustrated people :p
Given that gw2lfg uses advertisement and accepts donations, this guy isn’t hardcore, he’s just doing his job. That’s the way I see it. People who work 9 to 5 aren’t hardcore, they’re doing a job.
The core gamers create the guilds and communities that make a game more than the sum of its parts imo. I think that’s why overly casual games are more “souless” to me
And yet gw2lfg is most enabling for the casuals who can’t spend hours shouting lfg in LA. While I do respect some of the larger guild and event leaders, I still don’t see those as particularly hardcore since most they do is meta-gaming. Again, many of those people accept donations.
To be hardcore, you should be playing the game itself for many hours, pursuing in-game goals, without any monetary payment. Like how Michael Jordan is just doing his job, while the kid on the field playing basketball for hours on end is hardcore. It’s a distinction but important imho.
Meta-gaming would actually be considered hardcore by most but not all people. As far as your example goes, I would consider MJ the hardcore one in your example, because he devoted the same hours as a kid to make into a lifestyle and career.

I’m gonna say Necromancer. I have seen maybe 2, ever.

Mature content = blood, nudity, terror, coarse language, violence, politics, economics, moral controversy and scientific material.
(edit: added bold)
Bold part sounds much more like teenage – (very) young adult dream movie/show/game …
One by one:
- blood: yeah, right — people really want to look at “real” blood and gore (trust me, it’s not even remotely fun seeing it IRL)
- nudity: (“Internet is for pr0n, …”
) — nudity just because of sake of nudity is everything else than mature
- terror/violence: playing games should be fun or I missed something — try it IRL and someone will teach you
newreal meaning of that … fast- coarse language: kitten, kitten, bulkitten, oh kitten, … my kitten, wow kitten … WOW I’m 100% mature 1337 guy (and I’m the one who can be very explicit when talking
)
- politics/economics: oh gawd no, never, ever — we have enough of those “types” IRL to have another batch in game (well in game we maybe can
killget rid of them … hmm that’s not that bad idea)
- moral controversy: ?? (very, very broad), we hate them because they are <insert difference here> or “yeah, I can act as real
#$
%^@# in game w00t!”- scientific material: huh? Hard science? You want to travel 12hr to get to next place, be killed in one hit as humans are not that fire-proof, perma death, spend weeks or more to get enough material to make that leet sword, spend tons of time working to get finances in order to buy something … erm … RL (still) have better gfx and all of that in it. (and I’m long time fan of the hard SF)
To be clear, I don’t mind having things from the list in game (except politics
#$
#%) but it should be in because it’s FUN not just to call it “mature/adult”.Why anything from above is called “mature” escapes me completely. And I do love dark/no win scenarios, but done right (sadly, very rare), not just created to get that (whatever) title.
BTW can anyone name one title who has above things which is not swarmed with “not very mature people” (deliberately omitted age as that is not real measure for it)?
The list above are adult subjects.
Teenagers should not be allowed to be exposed to some of theses subjects because their brains haven’t fully developed. A brain that isn’t fully developed can be confused or experience psychological trauma. Our society has deemed it prudent to shelter developing brains from certain types of material.
Politics, economics, moral controversy and scientific material are important subjects. Even teenagers can benefit from these. These subjects shape the world we live in. Not understanding them or being afraid of them provides little hope for making a better world.
These were adult subjects back in the 50s. Most kids have seen far worse things than even I on the internet, and it’s usually someone younger than me showing me the messed up kitten. I’m still young and even I know blood, gore, nudity, etc. Is just a calling card for the immature.
I can kind of see where you are coming from though, and I agree children should not be exposed to that kind of crap even if it is already the norm.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Casual players won’t show the kind of dedication or devotion to a game by the nature of the definition of casual.
I’m a casual player.
I only play GW2, CS:GO, LoL, BF3 and then whatever Singleplayer AAA title happens to catch my fancy.
Out of those games, GW2 dominates my hours played. I play games maybe 10-14 hrs a week.
I’m not an outlier, either. you should drill down your definition of casual because as it stands, your point doesn’t hold water.
Hold on… you missed my definition of casual in my last posts? I think I made it pretty clear. Hell, I even linked to the Merriam Webster definition.
What about the definition of casual don’t you understand?
He’s telling you the video game definition of casual and the dictionary definition mean two separate things. And they pretty much always have.
No, he thinks the definition of casual is time spent in game. I disagree. Where, exactly, is your definition of “Video Game Casual” posted? Links would help.
Uh…You just defined it. Amount of time spent in game. It speaks nothing of skill or anything. /thread

Let me just say, it pays to pay attention to gw2lfg posts, and I can’t be anymore clear.
We ( my guild ) posted on lfg, that those who join WILL be kicked AT THE END of the instance.Upon arriving inside, we asked if they read the lfg post. They said “yes” it was a guardian and thief.
NEAR THE END, they were kicked, and they kept whispering us why they were kicked out.
Note the bolded parts. Kicked at the end? That’s fine. Boss and rewards come before the end.
Near the end, before the boss and rewards? That’s different. Very, very different. It’s the difference between getting your paycheck when they’re done filling it out, and getting it when they’re NEARLY done filling it out, say while it’s still unsigned/unauthorized.
And no this isn’t trolling, the entire point of this “experiment” was to test whether not people actually read or not.
I’m sorry, but the only thing you’ve proved is that you need to improve your communication skills. If you want to try this again, spell out that you will kick them BEFORE the end.
(That having been said, I really hope you don’t do this again. Experiment or not, warned or not, it’s still a bad thing to do to people.)
I don’t think he cares, ignore and move on, nothing worth reading in this thread.

Mature content = blood, nudity, terror, coarse language, violence, politics, economics, moral controversy and scientific material. …
I am over 30 and don’t believe a family oriented game like GW2 would benefit from the addition of the items you mention. There are other games for people who desire that kind of content.
I’m not quite 30 yet, but this is what I was getting at. If I just another mindless violent pseudo science slogfest with stupid big kitten bouncing around, I’ll go to Wal-Mart and pick up anything made by EA in the last 3 years.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Wait… I didn’t even see a single one of those boxes. Ever. I thought they stay for the whole month, so I didn’t go and search them yesterday. Does that mean I’ll never get to even see them until next year?
If that’s true, I really hope someone has them on video.
Agree, that’s pretty dang lame if it is gone already. Couldn’t even play yesterday, some of us work ya know Anet.

Mature content = blood, nudity, terror, coarse language, violence, politics, economics, moral controversy and scientific material.
I’m not trying to insult people who like Disney stuff. The psychological techniques used by Disney are well known to be effective. They’re very good at what they do.
Most of what you listed for mature content is just stuff teenagers want and adults don’t care about. The hole grows ever deeper.
Game is just fine, and will be for many years.
Teenagers want economics and politics? Adults want teddy bear backpacks and ginger bread swords?
Uh yea. That was my point.

I’ve never seen anyone in NNK let alone a commander laugh on a dead body or do any emotes out of disrespect.
Not that it matters because it’s pixels and children amusing themselves by acting like children but I have yet to see a DB NOT laugh/dance/jump on corpses since last weekend. When matches that are so dull and lopsided go on like this for weeks it seems to bring out the toddler in people who are blobrolling the other servers. Commanders and non-doritos alike, as the enemy blob rolls through masses of emotes flood the chat-box nowadays.
Doesn’t matter much though, matchup is boring at this point. We all know how it’ll end. There’s nothing YB or SoS can do to slow down the DB blob and the week is another experience in deja-vu at this point. /shrug
What’s amazing is the complete lack of any credible evidence.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
well congratulations are in order to yaks for taking there bay back a few minutes ago……me and one other from db held as long as we could at inner bay……to the commander leading it from [soul] yeah laughing at my corpse is real pro, no honor at all, you should salute the fallen brave not laugh and jump on there bodies.
Its funny you went and posted this. I was the the one that laughed on your dead body. Yes it’s true. You didnt like it did you? it’s funny cause when you and your 5 friends killed me in the camp then that was ok to laugh and dance on my grave? you get the same amount of respect as you give sir.
Now i have been dueling DB and SoS for weeks now.. and have showed great respect for them. cause they do the same. Dont cry about people laughing on your body when you do the same thing. you should learn to practice what you preach. and as a commander on yaks bend.. i like to teach other players the same. (show the same amount of respect as you get.
So for the future. if you dont like people dancing.laughing and any other emote. you should learn to do the same. you will find a lot less people will do it to you. Again.. sorry i couldnt show you more respect. i was just playing the cards you delt me.
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. You just proved that you hold yourself to no higher standard.
That’s not true, one person would still have one eye left. He would be the winner. Justice served.

I don’t know what this thread is about … I’ve been using the LFG tool for months… It works pretty well and I don’t think a.net has anything to add to it.
up until this thread, I didn’t even know about that website, and when looking for a group nobody ever mentioned it. Even talked about with other people over general chat about the need for a lfg tool over the last several month, and still nobody even mentioned this site.
To me, I would say the vast majority of the players do not even know about this site at all. There needs to be one in the game, then the vast majority of the people will know about one, and it will become even easier for everyone to find groups.
Don’t forget the large chunk of us that know about it but refuse to use a 3rd party website for basic MMO features from 2008. I’m glad they are working on it, I’ll finally see a dungeon when it comes out.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
It’s actually 26, so he isn’t far off. Us video gamers will be a dying breed eventually at this rate!
Quite the opposite, the audience is growing steadily. The constant marketing focus on the male, white late teens/early 20ies gamer is just utterly disproportionate to the actual distribution of demographics. Take a minute or two to read through http://www.theesa.com/facts/gameplayer.asp for some interesting numbers.
Cool, thanks for the link, will check it out. I had heard a few months ago VG’s were having trouble attracting a new audience, at least on the mmo side of things. Good to know I’ll have some people to play with even when I’m sitting in a rocking chair with an old laptop :p

Please make it so when a player is revived from downed state; he has 50% less stats.
any other requests?
Yea having to kill someone twice was not the fix he was asking for. Even with the reduction, You are still killing the same person nearly 3 times.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
I’m not generalizing. Its a fact. MMO’s are not appealing to younger audiences. They might buy the game; play it till level 10 or 20 then quit.
It probably has something to do with how the younger generations seek something for nothing and are too impatient to work towards something. The entitled generation. The ones that grew up with credit cards, smart phones and google.
I grew up with all those stuff and I’m still loving this game and the content. Oh and I don’t feel entitled. Sure, I don’t agree with some of the choices Anet has made since launch, but I still can’t wait to get my internet so I can play again.
Being entitled has nothing to do with the entire generation – it’s a personal view of some people from all generations. Saying that younger generations feel entitled is equally absurd as saying that all elder generations are completely ignorant to everyone/thing but to them selves. It’s easy to generalize, but generalizations are always wrong. And I mean always.
Oh and credit cards, smart phones and google FTW!
This. Even though I’m only 25, it doesn’t mean everyone my age is out for free stuff. I would much rather work for it, which is probably why I have played and still play EQ for 14 years. Just remember, it’s the person, not the age that determines maturity
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
I’m not sure how long they will be able to sustain this though. Their Achilles heel is a AAA MMO targeted to a mature audience. The Disney stuff might be tolerable for awhile but; it’ll get dumped really fast. Your average MMO gamers is over 30 and is demanding mature content.
Mature content in games? It will be more likley that teenagers want “mature content” so they could feel like adults while playing games.
It is also highly untrue that average mmo player is above 30+, if it were true how would you explain masses that use terms like kiddo, noobs, pro, leet, etc. They must be mature gamers for sure!
It’s actually 26, so he isn’t far off. Us video gamers will be a dying breed eventually at this rate! And the reason us mid to late 20s use those words is because we freaking INVENTED them.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Please make it so when a player is revived from downed state; he has 50% less stats.
Lol, for how long? This would make them completely useless, it would make downed state useless, you might as well just die.
I like the idea of making it harder to get out of downed state with maybe less than 40k hp and 50% damage reduction, and definitely harder to get back up. I would also make this for PvP and WvW only, it is fine the way it is for PvE.
That was the idea, to make it where when you kill someone they actually die and don’t lay on the ground fighting you for 30 seconds. Not realistic, fun, or even logical. And yea, PvP only, PvE downed state is fine imo. It just feels wildly out of place in WvW
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.

How about we just remove downed state altogether?

Art is art no matter the medium of creation. This isn’t even really a discussion, it’s more of an opinion, because video games handily fit into the art category by definition.
It’s not really open ended, pretty straightforward.

when this is put in game i look forward to hearing ‘’community has dissapeared’’ posts ‘’beacuse of LFG tooL!’’
- mark my words.
Well using this logic one assumes there is already a community. Even now most people don’t function outside their guilds, I don’t see being able to actually do things with other people changing this for this worse.
Long story short, LFG tool only helped Rift’s community IMO, I don’t see why it would have a different effect here.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Have not seen a single group looking for another or a dungeon, have not seen a any groups at all ever really. The only time I have grouped in 58 levels is with my fiance.
Not having a LFG tool makes dungeons pointless.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
No, and the very idea that an MMO could ever be an eSport in the same regard as RTS’s or MOBAs is ludicrous from a logical and theoretical standpoint. The only way it would work is to actually have a semblance of balance between classes and it’s not possible to do because MMO’s have PvE elements in them that other games do not.
It’s like saying WoW arenas are an eSport. They were awful, and killed that games PvP for me. (Personal opinion)
It just doesn’t work, hardly anyone would watch it.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
They are seriously a waste of time… you get one rare which you’re lucky to get 20 silver for and a bunch of other useless things that if sold will maybe total up to 25 silver…and you guys seriously spend hours waiting for these bosses to spawn…
Why do you do that? It’s so inefficient…
Doing ONE CoF run takes 6 minutes (8 if you’re on a bad pug team) and even conservatively gives you 80 silver per run…in six minutes you can make 3+ times more gold (and get tokens too) than you do waiting for hours for mega bosses…
You might say though… “but I don’t wait for hours, I just go when my guild tells me that the bosses are up”… ok, but even at that rate the best estimate to kill a mega boss would be 2 minutes per boss… add in the time to run there from waypoint, pick up your loot in the end, it probably takes 3 minutes minimum per boss, which at 25 silver per boss still only makes you 50 silver in those 6 minutes that it takes to run CoF… it probably takes a minimum of 3 silver to travel to each mega boss, so your total is a whopping 44 silver vs 80 in CoF… and on top of it all you can now only do the event once a day…while you can farm CoF till your hands fall off…
In fact… in 20 minutes of running CoF (3 runs conservatively) you can make more gold than if you did all of those mega bosses combined for the whole day…
Stop getting upset over these events, they are useless in the first place… no point getting your blood pressure up worrying about these nerfs to mega bosses… do what’s efficient… if you’ve never run CoF, it’s seriously the easiest thing ever to do… compete joke of a dungeon… you have no excuse to not try it… do 3 runs a day, get all your gold, then go enjoy the parts of the game that are actually fun instead of waiting in the swamp for hours…
Because CoF sucks and there is no LFG tool. NEXT!

MMO PvP is really hard to turn into an e-sport, and as much as I love GW2 I have to say sPvP is pretty much dead already. As long as they keep the WvW updates coming ill be happy, sPvP tends to just follow the trends and you end up with 10 people of the same class every match. Meh.

Nice. There goes that whole concept of getting one chest per day. Total Nerf to the entire casual community.
I doubt the entire casual community spends their time worrying about farming event chests.
Wouldn’t it be nice to actually play the rest of the game instead of just farming the whole time?
If only they could make the rest of the game as fast paced and rewarding as event hopping.

not sure if serious, or trolling to make others rush into spvp ;o
Well I mean at least there would be a reason to do sPvP then and it wouldn’t be a ghost town.

I love how this thread turned into people defending the shoddily designed dungeons, fractals, WvW mechanics, and class bugs rather than actually reading the OP.
The game is fundamentally broken unless you hardly ever play or play 24/7. There is no reason to casually play this game 2 hours a day at max level because you can’t accomplish anything noteworthy. The difficulty slides between laughably easy to stupid hard just going to the next heart/dungeon/ what have you depending on what monster you are fighting.
Basically this game has a hardcore legendary weapon grind for people with infinite free time, or enough content that Johnny playing twice a week will never finish or catch up. Meanwhile 90% of the rest of the players in the middle ground are screwed.
I think I have managed to actually put a dungeon group together twice, and we even almost finished one once!

Is “the most successful post-exodus server” ready to be sent to tier 4?. (Dragonbrand will perma win since no one will fight them in the night… but oh well, such is life.)
Please, learn to “win” graciously. GG DB and SoS, we’re looking forward to playing again.
Sounds like some jealousy.

The Fact that it was just a one time fee, is why it is still the one game I am still playing.
So much easier to enjoy a game when I don’t feel forced to play my moneys worth.
This doesn’t make sense from a logical stand point, 50 cents a day is next to nothing when most hobbies cost thousands of dollars.
If someone is that worried about getting their money’s worth out of 50 cents every day, I would say they should be trying to find a job rather than playing a game anyway.
Just my opinion of course, before someone takes this seriously.

Shouldn’t affect the class if they at least bump our survivability some other way, there are a ton of builds on the thief and some do not even use stealth (as a primary source of attack prep). No matter what happens we still have solace in the fact we are not the Warrior class. Thank God
Ain’t that the truth.
Poor warriors.

Subscription fees insure quality in the ever changing landscape of crappy B2P and F2P games, try playing a sub game for a few months then going back to a F2P model and you’ll understand why F2P is destroying the MMO industry. At least Guild Wars set the bar at $60 before they give it all up so to speak, the buy to play model is far superior in my eyes than a free to play, possibly even as good as a sub base.
That is very much a matter of opinion. I have never played a sub game where I thought I was getting my money’s worth. The closest was Rift. I will agree that most F2P games are a waste of bandwidth. Freemium games can be even worse. ToR’s model is heavily geared towards making the free experience unfriendly, coupled with not-so-subtle hints like, “You could have another quick slot if you subbed.”
GW’s B2P model worked just fine for me. Heck, if I played WoW I was also going to pay for expansions. Why pay a monthly fee for what imo was an inferior game. Yes, I know a lot of people like WoW. Well, a lot of people like Justin Bieber. I’m just not one of them, in either case.
Well said. That’s what I was trying to get across in my last post but you said it better, kudos sir. Rift is actually one of the few games I had in my mind worth the $15 dollars as well heh. There are some bad sub games out there too folks, don’t let my old school opinion sway yours.
