Why do people still keep thinking about these kinds of things as earning/saving money?
They were never supposed to be that. They are simply there for convenience. I for one love having a easy daily gatherer in one (small) place.
If they would offer a bank for the home instance, than it would be for convenience yes. But nodes, no. A node is simply for profit. I can imagine that it could offer some convenience IF it was certain what you will get. That is not the case. So again: no, this is not for convenience.
If I want 100 gems I want 100 gems.

2: I want to be able to choose the exact amount both in gems and gold.

I concur. This is NOT what we asked for. Important part of the currency exchange is speculation: How will the value of gems go up or down. Therefor we need that graph! Furthermore lots of situations require to just get some extra gems, not 400 – 800 – and so on. So get us back the old input where we chose ourselves the amounts to be exchanged!
I really don’t understand why we get so much of the same ‘new’ items. Those gathering tools do all the same (with the exception of the watchwork mining pick) so we really need only 1 of a kind… Still waiting for watchwork logging tool lol!

This currently drops as an exotic from Tequatl. In fact, it drops 90% of the time, making it impossible to get another exotic. It has only value for those who collect these items for getting a Bag of Mentor’s Supplies. Which is Masterwork. So basically this hard events exotic drops are replaced by something to get a Masterwork item, which many people don’t even bother to use. Please make it Masterwork, so the exotic droprate is no longer spoiled!
Great observation from the opp: I concur. This is inflicting RSI, and testing my patience. Selling items this way is a pain in the donkey…
I’m having this issue since 3 days. So it began AFTER the patch. Useually I’m having it after playing for 45-75 minutes.

If it was JUST the game – everyone would be having issues. I would check the amount of lag and dropped packets going through your ISP. When I had this exact issue, I found out it was my ISP.
Remember there is plenty of equipment between the GW2 server and your PC. People seem to ignore that fact.
Don’t know how to do that. But it just started today for me. Wonder if it had to do with not being active on the map while waiting for the event? Anyway, when coming back to a different map I noticed more players complaining about this.
On Gandara a lot of players got disconnected from the game server when they were about to play the Tequatl event. Both in the afternoon and at dinnertime. Just to return at a different server without commanders. Is this happening on other servers too?
We know it all: account bound convenience items which we use on only 1 chr, because opening a bank account to switch items is not… Convenient! So What about this:
Start selling single account slots to store whatever item you like. This slot will be added to the common inventory slots of every chr. once activated. Once an item is in that slot every chr. on your account has access. Like a mini bank in your inventory!
We have a lot of account bound convenience items in the Gem store. Some time ago Anet started adding that we can switch them between our chr’s. Unfortunately switching items between chr’s by bank is not… Convenient! So here is my suggestion:
Start selling slots for account bound items! e.g. 1 slot for 1000 gems. Accessable in your chr’s menu bar. Meaning that when you put, lets say your account bound mining pick, in that slot, every chr. can take it without using a bank.

Simply this: its a game. And a game should not mess up with real world economy rules. Players just want to have fun. No taxes or other negative real world features…
And it’s John’s job to make sure that players DO have fun by balancing the value of Gold and individual items. I’m sure you wouldn’t be having much fun if a single Vial of Powerful Blood or Vicious Claw cost 25 Gold each.
We are discussing the tax rates. Without those rates prices would be more transparant and no, it won’t touch the game balance at all!
Yes. Because I used to do the daily PvE only, but now there’s nothing to chose from. It’s only 5 PvE only requirements and some of them cannot be done in the limited time I have after a day of hard labor (lol!) and my social life at evening.
Hmmm, happy I read this before buying a new chr. expansion slot. This is not how I like to play the game, so I stick to my old chr’s I guess….
I think the problem is “if there is any”, is people don’t like the economy, which is part of the game.
You kind of have to care if your players like your game or not. That being said, there is no proof the people complaining is the majority.
Which brings to my question. Why don’t the other 1000 mmorpg games have people spam complaint about TP Baron on their game forum. Sure people complaint about P2W or gem store being too expensive, but I never heard people complain about the TP or economy(well beside diablo 3, but everyone know how broken it was).

It has nothing to do with any patch. There is a reason why platinum ore is much more useful than other ores, but you have to find out yourself. Anyway, due to this reason lots of players want it cheap. Looking at the price index you will notice small amounts being sold at lower prices than the rest. This is to persue players unaware of the real value to sell cheap. And it works! Looking at certain profits I would say that 1,75- 1.90 would be a realistic value to sell. But unfortunately lots of players start to sell for much lower prices due to above manipulation…

We want Anet to learn that overflow is bad, random system and it needs some changes.
I want to play with my friends, guild, not with random upset ppl! I want to do events like Tequatl, Marionette, Wurm, without afk 1-2h. Its so simple – for large bossess make raid/instances for guilds/teams/players – it works so well in other mmorpg, why it would not work here?
For world/map large scale events make districts, so I can switch to district 24 (like in GW1) to join my guild mates! I dont want to be put random to overflow that already have dozens of players that are not making event because they dont want to be on that overflow, so the event fails…Its killing this game, Karka was a warning, Tequatl was yellow card, Wurm/Marionette was frustration festival, now we have grand finale HOW BAD overflow is after so many players switched servers to more populated, just to be able to play this game properly in other content…
I concur. What I want from a game like this is quite easy:
-Never an overflow
-No instanced maps either
-Just plain and simple: wandering though a map and than engaging group event on a random, not predictable time scale and than the choice to either leave it if not enough players are around or team up and slay the beasts… On the world map and not in a team based instance.
The only reason why its done differently is lack of server capacity. THAT should change!

High level crafting (400+); its too much time consuming. I would happily pay some gold to ‘buy’ the stats and use even more gold to craft. But as its now: too much of a hassle to get it all together.
Warriors are supposed to be zerkers. I have no problem nerfing their healing skills but doing tons of dps is simply why worriors exist. So don’t touch that…
Today I found an EOTM portal on a map where I was exploring, Just out if curiosity I entered it and… Next I found myself in a PvP environment where teams battle each other? Comon people, keep it seperated! The world map is for PvE play only.
Most sets look ugly for males. Anyway, thing is that we only get updates of excisting armors with something extra (like flames on it). When do we finally get completely new skins? I’d like a good oldfashioned monk robe on my male necromancer :P
Just tried to sell some crafted weapons. It took unusual long before the final screen came up, and it was a ‘failed to sell’ message. But my items are no longer in my inventory, and the sold items list is empty ‘no results’.
There are already 2 threads about these picks as convenience items or advantage items. Anyway: For the same price all gathering tools should have the same abillities, now and in future. So either remove the extra bonus or add it to all excisting 1000 gems picks.
This is probably all planned far ahead. It may take months before Anet changes content on behalf of players input. Just keep giving your opinion.
Thing is: if lots of people use it, than the lag would increase just like traveling to LA, making the whole thing useless. So its obvious that only a limited amount of players will be allowed to use it. Anyway, it’s only useful for 1 chr. of your account since transfering it needs a bank account elswhere.
You do know that you only get 1 copy in the inventory of 1 chr, do you? If you want another chr. to use it, you need to transfer it manually to that chr…
I concur. The whole idea is to bypass (often contested) places with a bank. So every chr. needs to have access instantly.
How do other chr’s get access to the pass? Need to xfer it by bank or is directly accessable on your account like unlocked reward items?
I’m thinking about the same thing. But don’t you need a number of X members before you can unlock upgrades?
As for PvE I’d suggest only 1 change: don’t decrease running speed while being under attack; its not logical – but it would be fair to decrease it if you use an attack skill yourself.
I’m not getting the point. Skins and stats, its just the combination you prefer. No matter if it was ascended or not. So, suppose you want the stats of ascended, but different skin, than you xfer the skin you prefer to the ascended item stats. That’s why we have a gemstore
It’s not pay to win. With the current gold / gem exchange it would cost 22-24 gold. Only few upgrades are worth more. So in most cases you simply destroy the old upgrade by placing a new one.
At least give us a filter for hard / medium / light armor. Or a profession filter.

I can’t upgrade my Lidless Eye to Eye of Rodgort using the ingredients mentioned here:

My Lidless Eye remains greyed out and cannot be added to the other 3 items. I tried the -repair option mentioned on that page, but that does not help either.
EDIT: Cause seems to be that I altered the stats with a transmutation stone. Question: If I use a transmutation splitter, will it than work? Need to be absolutely sure before I buy one.

But its still not worth the gold. Ok, let’s talk about gems for real money. So you buy 150 gems and get the gathering booster. What purpose does it serve? Well, boosting up you gatherings… for gold! But.. 150 gems converted to gold in gemstore will always give you more gold than you can ever earn by 1 hour of gathering (and sure, one may be Lucky and get more, but that’s a avery poor chance).

Think of it the other way around: exchanging gems for gold will Always lose 1/3 of the gold to gems value. Since gems will keep raising in gold prices, a patient gamer would always have profit in buying gems for gold. Just wait a few months and change them back to gold. Profitable, because the gold value (to buy items) does not drop that fast.
50%. At first I planned to salvage a lot for more mf, but than I realized that its much more profitable to do some mining / harvesting every now and than instead of hoping for a good item to drop
When it comes to heavy armor in general, your “Female Armor must show skin” theory is invalid. That is all.
Why? It’s magic armor, so the skin is magically enforced. Including an ivisible forcefield for those body parts seemingly uncoverd
During the last 2 weeks I enjoyed the challenges of Tequatl! I’ve fought him 12 times, only to win once (mostly because of the overflows). But it was a great experience! Now the Living World is moving on and for the first time there was no overflow the for a whole day long. At the beginning of this day there were still players around but at the last Tequatl event… No one! (Gandara server) Which made me realize that its over and out. Players move on to the next living world events or stop doing this one because there’s nothing to gain anymore. So what now? Will Tequatl keep rising every 90 minutes just for a few players passing by and watching from a distance? I would like a decent end to this event. Opinions?
Crafting becomes very time-consuming when lists of crafting materials and items grow longer. This is an idea to make crafting smooth and swift.
Let’s say we want to craft a Precise Bronze Dagger. The main screen shows the components we need:
-Precise Green Inscription
-Bronze Dagger Blade
-Bronze Dagger Hilt
We don’t have them, so we need to craft them too. Instead of looking for them in the long list at the left I suggest:
Clicking on one of those components brings up the crafting screen of that component. So in this case we start by clicking on the picture of the Precise Green Inscription. The main screen now tells us we need
-1 Green Wood Dowel
-3 Tiny Claws
In case we don’t have the Green Wood Dowel, we can click on the picture and get the next screen, telling we can craft it with:
-1 Green Wood plank
And if necessary we can click on the picture of the Green Wood Plank to create it with:
-3 Green Wood Logs.
Once we crafted them, the main screen should offer navigation arrows to move back step by step to the next item we need to craft: in this case the Bronze Dagger Blade.
Note that crafting materials are not clickable in this scenario. Although I can imagine that people may want to be directed to the Black Lion Trading Company by clicking on them, so they can buy them.
