Simply a fact, I’ve been raiding since it came out (and occasionally took breaks between weeks), I’m not having as much fun as in dungeons, I’m sure that the raid team could do wonder if they were moved to dungeons instead of raids, that would solve a lot of issues including the lack of armor skins outside the gem store.
People are running the raid once a week, while dungeons reset every day, that would make people more invested into the game. That’s why I hope the next expansion will mark the return of dungeons.
Just wanna comment a bit. a no-no doesn’t mean “don’t use gs” coz gs has a good pull utility. Some places you wanna use it is at uncategorized the 4 golem boss and arch diviner during the bell phase to pull 4 adds to the center.

Simple: Don’t play Guardian at all after Fractal Level 80, that’s a shame because before HoT, Guardian was top tier in fractals.
From a PvE raid perspective, seems like an indirect buff since there are fights now where thief beats ele. The sharing of basilisk also makes them more appealing.
Tempest only beat Staff DD on Gorseval and Keep Construct now.
Well in french it’s “Gardiens de l’Eternité” which means “Guardians of Eternity”. That’s way cooler than “Dragon’s Watch” and fits well with my main who’s a Guardian.
Elementalist and thief didn’t get damage nerfed, they are still in the #1 and #2 spot respectively. Since the bracket didn’t budge, I find it hard to declare them as “nerfed”. But the gap with other professions (ranger, engineer, mesmer, guardian, warrior) was closed, so other professions with less DPS got indirectly buffed

You do realize mesmer is doing 13.7k DPS while an ele is doing 34-36k, right? Power ranger is a pitiful 17-18k DPS.
And don’t bring this crap about utility/support because PS warrior with scholar runes does 26k DPS and brings the strongest raid buffs in the game, while being ahead of power mesmer by 12k DPS and ahead of power ranger by 8-9k DPS.
PvE DPS balance is terrible and so is role competitiveness.
Hurray, at some point that they nerf ele enough you’ll stack 3 daredevils or 3 condi engineers or 3 guardians instead.

Maybe they want casuals to run raids by getting their Guardian in it and spam 1 like in a zerg fest? Also raid bosses are coming to Living World, Vale Guardian is just the beggining.
I really liked the ending scene, however with that said I care much more for what is actually happening rather than how well it is told. The Primordus reveal was awesome and I am so excited to be going after another dragon and can’t wait for the final battle (I just hope that primordus is absolutely HUGE and actually looks like a proper dragon, I seriously don’t care about mechanics or anything so long as it is not like the mordremoth fight). Leaving the episode with that reveal created a great cliffhanger and has really made me excited for episode 2 (shame I am going to have to wait so long for it with the new living world system however).
I didn’t play gw1 so the mursaat really don’t matter to me but I thought the conversation between him and caudecus was good and I look forward to seeing what they do with the rivalry between those 2 characters in future.
Primordus is the most fearsome Elder Dragon, he’s not going to die next expansion.

I’ve already made new dps tests and overall the Ele has lost ~10% damage as both, Staff and DW Ele. Ele still remains the top of the top against large hitboxes but has been kicked from the throne against small hitboxes.
Those are the realistic (2 stacks gotl, no empowerment, no necro, no rev, 8% and 6+4% food) dps numbers for the highest dpsers right now:
Staff Ele, large hitbox: 28.0k / 33.6k with Alacrity (-9.5% dmg after patch)
DW Ele, small hitbox: 23.6k / 26.0k with Alacrity (-10.1% dmg after patch)
Condi Engi: 25.5k / 28.4k with Alacrity (+2.9% dmg after patch)
Power Engi: 25.8k / 27.2k with Alacrity (a bit more than +0% dmg after patch)
Power Thief: 26.2k / 26.4k with Alacrity(-3.1% dmg after patch)
- Don’t forget that Air Overload still grants 5 allies a damage skill, resulting into ~150-200 dps per target. So you can add ~600-800 dps to the DW Ele.
- If you play with a Rev (usually small hitboxes) you can add ~4.5% to all these professions except for Condi Engi, there it’s rather around ~1%.
- I didn’t yet test condi Thief, may be a thing due to the recent buffs.
- Condi Necro requires 270-400s of combat to summon enough Minions to reach the 26k dps mark and the same time again to make up for the until then not dealt dps. However this variies greatly depending on Alacrity and most of all Epidemic.

I mostly do sPvP as I can’t be bothered with collecting gear from raids or fractals to be competent at WvW. I did a coulpe of matches with Scepter+Shield/Sword+Focus and it was pretty good, won 3 out 6 matches.
Yeah I forgot to mention PvP, DH was subpar compared to other classes last season, now there’s a good chance that it will be meta, with the removal of Clerics amulet, it’s gonna be who has the highest burst and DH are good at that in team fights.
I am gonna go Guardian and leave my condi rev alone.
Guardian is crap in every aspect of the game except large WvW groups (due “Stand Your Ground!”). I say this as a player which mained Guard up to the expansion, investing ~4k hours + 2 legendaries in. Revenant is just better, even relegated to sword #1 aa is still better.
Pretty much this, the only time Guardian get’s picked up is only if the group is desperate for reflect and DPS, which is useless if the Mesmer is good, or trolling your group in high level fractals by giving perma retaliation to all the trash mobs.
Also I played Ele a lot after I got bored with my Guardian, but Anet nerfed Ele to the point where it’s as clunky as Guard in terms of gameplay and the same stuff is happening with Revenant.

Stop crying. Your hammer rotation is braindead and nets you 29k DPS, way ahead of power ranger’s 18k DPS or mesmer’s 13k DPS.

Let them cry more, though. About their poor 29-34k DPS while other classes are only doing a third of their DPS.
The main issue with Guardians is that it was boring to play, this is no longer the case with the changes made, but that’s only for anything outside of Raids and High Level fractals.
Thief lost a pretty obvious 5%, tempest fresh air lost like 2-3% and staff lost over 10%, at least when I tested it.
Ele beats Thief only on large targets now, so it’s better than Thief only against Gorseval, Sloth (questionable) and Keep Construct in raids.
Elementalist did receive a DPS nerf, the CD are longer now which means the rotations from previous builds are not reliable anymore. Thief DPS got nerfed aswell with the staff damage reductions and DH does more DPS now with the Scepter changes (I’m pretty sure Scepter/Torch is better than Hammer), so it might get picked more in raids.
Scepter/Torch could be better than Hammer.
Meh, they should have made it so people who completed wing 3 once can get it with other chests too, this is just silly and very unfair.
I don’t think Thief will change this update, Necro, Ele and Warrior are the most likely to get nerfed, Guardian won’t change because Anet hate them, Revenant will get nerfed and buffed in the wrong way, Engineer/Ranger/Mesmer maybe buffed with a DPS increase.

In my opinion, you’re better off making an ascended set for heavy armors since right now outside of Druid, medium professions are in a bad state, Engineer simply get outclassed by Condi Reaper faceroll and Condi Druid because of the buff it provides to the group.
I’ve been seriously considering making one, but I want to know how does it compare to the other medium professions, I have a Thief but I’m not enjoying it now outside of PvP and it’s really useless in fractals/raids (I don’t know if they fixed Mai Trin cheese with stealth though) because my Elementalist/Revenant does the job better while giving support.
I’m with and against TC, the raid leader is asking too much for the Trio, which is litterally an open world level difficulty encounter that you can faceroll with any team composition, Siege the Keep is another one but needs more execution.
But TC however, was showing off and being kinda rude, so in the end I’m happy that an arrogant player got kicked by an elitist, it just shows how terrible the raid community can be.

I actually just uninstalled the game a week ago…yet I’m currently considering the likelihood to re-download (can’t abruptly abandon my guildies lol). Maybe it’ll happen before LS3.
But still, pugging raid has truly worn me out entirely. I’ll just try to find a guild that raids on weekends…..or leave the content completely after purchasing the wing 3 kills for the legendary armor completion( it’d need conversion of $, of course…..only have 200- gold now)
If you ever find one, please sign me up too, I have the same issue currently with PUGs becoming more and more toxic than ever for raids.

Do you remember the Slothasor run from Friday (or maybe Saturday, dunno exactly). You joined a pug stated as “experienced” but no other requirements (like LIs, eternal or tonic buff) and when I read all member names, I recognized your account name. I immediately googled it and I knew my memory was right about this forum and your posts here.
The commander and organisator of that run asked everybody of the group about experience and about unclear things. He did an excellent preparation via TS, you were there as well but muted, maybe or hopefully only listening.
Although it was an experienced run he was repeating every mechanic and made clear that you can fail once but not more because the mechanics shouldn’t be a serious issue for exp players.
You failed hard three times (2x laying poison under team although it was called out loud in TS + 1x not pulling Sloth as tank to the next spot).
The commander then asked you via TS, you didn’t react, so your kick was absolutely inevitable because that hasn’t been a training run + you haven’t shown any reaction at all.Situations like this are the reason why people put up requirements. All you had to do was reacting to the mechanics and play the encounter like the group had wished for.
People who are not able to should form training runs and get used to mechanics. After practicing a bit you shouldn’t have a problem to have success in a group like from the weekend.
I joined another group the week-end and got the kill, and I don’t remember these mistakes, the only ones I did were not dodging the shakes at the right time and the reflects not timed well.
Anyway, I’m done with this game the next couple of weeks, it will eventually die one day with all the stuff coming up not only this year but the next ones aswell.

They are making content to force people into login in the game rather than experiencing it, simple as that.
Happened this tuesday:
I have a guildy that just came back to the game, he got HoT, spend 1-2 hours doing abit of the story + a few events to get basic gliding. We did not have a guild raid that day and I did not have time to join him (rl), so he checked lfg. 10-15 min later he whispered me he was in a pug group, lfg text being: lets have a look at first boss in wing 3, later that evening he whispered me over skype with “I just got my first raid kill GG”..
It is never to late to get into raids, join a teaching/learning lfg group or join a guild that do raids, thats it. You will need to spend abit of time, and you will die a few times. But if you want to raid, you will get the kills and learn the bosses.

I have a better idea: Make dungeon mode for raids, accessible for 5 people with difficulty that you would expect for a lvl80 dungeon by removing some mechanics from bosses (Vale Guardian split phase, Gorseval ghosts, Sabetha Cannons, Sloth poison area etc…), problem solved.
I always log-in by the time of the daily reset, and look for the LFM tab, i see pugs almost everyday by this time, got my first kill on VG and Gors on pug wednesday around 9 PM, so you can pug pretty easy.
That’s the first wing, people ask you to have tonic and over 50 LI for wing 2 and 3 even though it’s useless stuff, I’ve never been able to complete wing 2 because of that and just gave up on raids, the system is terrible, the rewards are terrible and the community is terrible, end of the line…
And don’t tell me to find a raid guild, I tried since wing 2 came out (I completed wing 1 way before back in January), couldn’t do it and it was too late.
Long story short, I’m tired of wasting my time in LFGs and going back to other games because of time wasted, I cleared Wing 1, I could never get into Wing 2, weeks after it came out the requirements from people became obscene which caused me to never get accepted again.
I have an Ele/Guardian which are full ascended, a Revenant with ascended trinkets and weapons, a Thief with ascended trinkets and soon an ascended weapon and a fresh Necro which I’m currently building to go with Viper/Sinister stuff.
I would use malice over bursting personally… or the sigil for poison duration. I’m not sure how you are at 100% Bleed and 84.73 chill now, but most condi builds use 4 nightmare/2 trapper runes when using multiple conditions in a build. I would look at using that and malice and see how you get better options in place of whatever you are currently using.
If you are using exotic gear, go for viper. If you are using ascended, getting viper is a pain (involves raiding). Up to you.
Ascended Viper armor is terrible and not worth it, it’s just 30 more power and 0,8% more condi duration than an Exotic Viper armor set, ascended weapons and trinkets are enough when it comes to condi or support/healer builds.
If you didnt get in at the start then for most its to late,that boat has sailed.
people already experienced dont want inexperienced slowing them down.
There are some that see this as a big problem and offer teaching.but they are few and far between.I relay dont see raids lasting.
This or they will run out of ideas, the encounters are all pretty similar and people run the same builds, it would have been much better, safer and fun to make challenging dungeons instead of raids, less effort and it would please everyone, because at least no ascended stuff or other dumb requirements.
I really miss the days where people experienced dungeons for the first time and tried to understand mechanics by trying tons of different team compositions, then the cancer of “meta” came out, but it was still a friendly place for most people unlike fractals (the gear grind that is) or raids (the mentality from players).
As much as I wanna raid, I can’t now because of how big (and stupid) the requirements have grown, why should I need a tonic that gives nothing just to experience wing 2 and wing 3? Why is a legendary material is used as a currency? Also, I feel like my time is wasted most of the time, especially when trying to join a group, which eventually makes me play another game, in which I can have fun whenever I want…
The Condi Reaper build in Metabattle is the meta for Fractals and Raids, and the funny thing is that you lose only 0,8% damage with an exotic viper armor than an ascended one, you only need ascended Viper weapons, at least 2 ascended Viper trinkets (the rest being sinister), rune of thorns (the most painful to get, but there’s a variant with berserker runes, you need more viper trinkets though) and the consumables, that’s it.
Here’s a few steps:
-Release more raids
-Release less content for all kinds of players
-More E-Sports
-Make very rare skins not tradeable, I mean please make it so precursors cannot be sold so everybody have to work more instead of playing the game
-Release next expansion this year
-Do patch notes like FROM SOFTWARE and say that everything is working as intended
People hates Raids because of how toxic the community inside is, let’s be honest, take a look at the LFG requirements, 50 LI which was like 10 times less 5 months ago just for the 1st Wing, how stupid is this? I bought the game, I wanna play everything inside, and people who wants that shouldn’t be harassed by the “plagues” for doing so.
This so much, I can’t tell how many times I died against Warriors because of that (also 2-3 Warriors/Engi is something that should not exist).
The third raid wing is out in two days and a lot of stuff is unknown about legendary armor.Is it even coming out with this wing,or is it going to take several expansions and raids to finish?That would seem a strange way to do things,especially for people joining the game maybe a couple of expansions down the road.
One Legendary Armor per Raid, the rest of the collection will probably involve tons of grinding and ascended material craft, just like the HoT Legendary weapons…
People who say Revs needs more nerfs clearly haven’t played in late Ruby this season, it’s all about Condi + CC stacks so Revs and Eles can’t do anything to support their team when they are the targets…
People push “meta” stuff too much, one thing that should be done is removing class stacking, it hurts diversity so much, see Overwatch for example, people have enough of fighting 2 McRee every match and it also doesn’t make any sense.
Also the level of skill in this game system is laughably bad, I might make a video of my 4 years old nephew playing an Ele or Warrior and see him winning most of the time because of how little effort you need with the “meta”.
For me it is, because these tools are for legendary crafting and not real awards…

I don’t have time to complete both wings every weeks, and guilds would kick me a lot because of how often I’m switching games this year…Insight requirement is not elitism.
There are enough groups without requirements clearing both wings regularly and take pugs with them. Just be patient and wait in the LFG, many of those offers are popping up over time.

DH is still good against Thieves which are being picked much more than Revenant this season, so I wouldn’t say it’s bad.
It works, but sometimes it really sucks in PvP, if you’re against a team of Engis and DH, needless to say you’ll have to switch because of terrible matchups, unless your team have good skill/composition to counter them…
Condi warrior is destroying everything at the moment.
I thought this season was gonna be great, I saw a lot of people saying it was more balanced this time, but after playing today it’s gonna be worse than last one for sure, power builds aren’t even worth taking aside from Thief and that’s only when they don’t stack Warriors or Engis…
Ran into a condi warriors/rev/necro team, I died in 5 secs as Rev, I’m not kidding, the eles we had weren’t enough, it was 6000+ dmg per sec…
Expect to see a lot more warriors. They have virtual immunity to conditions now for long periods of time and dish out huge condi damage. We may see a return to the days of 5 warrior teams ( HamBow then ) rolling over everything in sight.
Apparently the latest attempt to “shake up the meta” is to super power warriors.
Great, people will just stack Eles and Thieves to counter it.
Ah, so that’s the reason why I was dying so fast on my Revenant, also those nerfs sucks, I can’t escape if I get in a bad situation, and after seeing Thief buffs I’ll probably switch back to it.
I’m glad I stopped caring for this game.
Got to Legendary with Rev/DH/Ele, and boy I was right, Ele is the most broken profession again in PvP, having 2 in a team is broken.
Matchmaking is a total mess from the beggining to the end, I’m T4 Diamond and blowouts still happens, people are stacking the meta builds much more and each time I get in, people look at both teams professions, switch and are forced to play with something that isn’t their main just to win, I get punished over and over for playing something I like rather than the OP stuff.
Also, Necro is the most braindead profession, you can’t say that this game is highly competitive where all it takes to win is stacking these and Eles, even my 3 years old nephew and his friends could be legendaries if I tell them what button to press when, I’m not even exaggerating.
