ye, just tried, it works in normal mode too, still i agree it’s not worth it’s too risky
In my world, people doesn’t res anyone and they don’t dodge anything.
Have a look at the patch notes and you will recognize that there have been several nerfs which leads to easier fracs:
- Aetherblade
- Chaos Isles
- Snowblind
- Underground Facility
- Thaumanova
They were terrible before, Aetherblade and Thaumanova bosses that is, it wasn’t fun at all getting bombed/pulled out of no where and had to wait forever till the golems shields ran out in Aetherblade, while it was big hp sponge and invisible projectiles + bombs 5 times in a row (on top of the chaos anomaly one sometimes) in Thaumanova.
Episode 5: Blood Legion Homelands where we fight bloodstone-infused branded (why not?).
Episode 6: Whatever happens will lead us to the area south of Fields of Ruin.
Expansion: Elona.
Yeah we’re gonna learn more about Rytlock and Kasmeer next episode I’m sure of it, the fact he got arrested is suspicious, I think the Charrs thought he was using ancient magic which is forbidden if I recall right because of what happened with Abaddon, the Titans and Ascalon…
The issue with this fight is the room, too small and you can’t properly hit the adds, the jade bow was so annoying because dealing with Caudecus + bloodstone minions + AOEs wasn’t enough I suppose…
Got him on my 2nd try though but it was a huge clusterkitten inside the room, I’d say once you take out the Jade Bow and the Snipers he becomes way more manageable, count 6-7s after you used the special action everytime and be patient, you’ll win.
This could have been Caudecus Manor P4 honestly…
Well what I think is more of a community problem is that if you want to raid but you got a low amount of Li you can’t get into a group nor guild. I really want to raid properly but I only got 5 Li and it doesn’t really matter from which boss I got them since people won’t let you even join for vg without having 100 + Li. (even if you got your low amount from said boss or the boss you want to do).
Is it just me or is this just ridicoulus? For me it is like saying : you can’t join on ascalon dungeon without having around 1k dungeon marks.
How can I get raid experience if I can’t join a group or a guild because I lack on Li?
Ofc the more Li you got the more experienced you are but tbh it gives new-ish raiders 0 chances to get into it :/
Also I think it would make it easier if the Li would show from which boss you got them.
Yes I might be complaining but for me it also kinda destroys the community :/
Not only that, but this is a material used for Legendary Armor crafting, it’s not an indicator of skill at all, I’ve seen groups which ask for 100 LI and want to be carried.
You should get inside a friendly guild or something (unfortunately mine is doing raids with 2 groups on Mondays and I can’t get in there at all, I don’t have time to login at that point), right now raiding is in a bad spot for PUGs, I mean when you have low LIs and no spammable killproofs…
We know how the Heavy armor looks like, but what about the other two? Because right now the precursors are very ugly but that’s my own opinion…
Well according to an article it’s 4 bosses instead of 3 this time. But to be honest I’m looking forward to the stupid LI requirements for this one, people are gonna ask 200LI just for the 1st boss and 350 for the last one…
It’s easy but people tends to make it sound harder than it is (LI requirements are a good example of that).
Grtz i never tought of that tactic before
Except it’s game breaking, the world eater was meant to be avoided either by phasing Gorseval or use an updraft, they sure know better than anyone else for the most part but I doubt the designers will leave this untouched.
Tbh the reason ppl ask for eles in power dmg and rangers or necros back in the day for condi dmg is that the comms in these groups as well as a big portion of the community thinks that content needs the perfect ideal dps classes, support casse and tanking classes to have a smooth run and so they see the dps benchmarks they see highest dps being ele and condi ragers and they thing only that can be used to clear raids when thats far from the truth.
Truth be told you can clear raids you dont need a specific class like everything in this game SKILL>> NUMBERS ppl dont understand that and thats why they would kick a thief or a guardian that do 30k dps (unrealistic in most cases but it helps my point and i can stil occur) for an ele that does 20-23k dps jsut because he has the tempest icon, same aplies for condis and tanks or healers i have had friends telling me how smooth of clears they had bback in the day on vg with thief tank and auramancer healers.
I ‘m not saying eles are bad condi ragers are bad or druids are not needed im just saying the content isnt that hard that tthese classes should be mandatory but your avarage gw2 player does’t seem to be able to realise that (sorry if i came out as a kitten).
This, if anything people need to get good at this game and stop copying good guilds comps, you only need the best DPS for Gorseval, KC and Xera to some extent.
The way I see it, raids are very time consuming and not that great in any aspect, it’s a good thing for guilds who wanna test their limits but otherwise it’s really obnoxious for people who don’t wanna wait for 2-3 hours.
The last update for fractals made me enjoy the game again, stuff like Nightmare Fractal is what should’ve been added in HoT as Dungeons, people love 5 man content because it’s easy to build a group for it, and you have challenge motes to make these harder, and the rewards are fair aswell.
Yeah, take full DPS groups for pugs and wipe over and over at Slothasor/Matthias/Xera because the groups have little to no sustain even with 2 druids and 2 mesmers, at least with 1-2 Revs/DH and/or 1 Necro you have perma protection + other boons and stuff to make druids and mesmers life easier.
Necromancers have psychokinesis powers to make full use of the environment, the next elite spec should have that.
Too bad that raid mechanics are anti-Thief, might aswell delete it and make a Ranger instead, it’s even not needed anymore in fractals, Anet screwed up with this class when HoT came out and I don’t think they’ll manage to fix it unless Ele and Mesmer are adjusted properly.
So yeah, you’re gonna have to wait till next expansion to “maybe” play Thief again.
I’ve been in groups using 2 Revs and 2 Chronos, we did Wing 1 (except Gorseval) and Wing 2 without much issues, people had a lot more sustain with Glint/Jallys and Glint/Mallyx in Wing 2.
Does anyone know the song that was playing in the background of the Ensolyss fight? I NEED IT.
note: New frac is amazeballs
Battle on the Breachmaker, it was originally played when you fight against Scarlet for the last time in Lion’s Arch at the end of LS Season 1.
So it’s true. We are going to let the 2 dragons destroy each other? Why didn’t they think about it before?
Not really, Primordus is still way stronger than Jormag (Fire vs Ice lel), a good match up against Primordus would be the Deep Sea Dragon, otherwise it’s 50/50 with Kralkatorrik.
My guess is that Primordus will indirectly help Braham to get Jormag killed so he can steal his power.
So that means Jormag is going to die this season? Maybe he will get weakened by Lazarus or Primordus and Braham will deal the fatal blow? If it’s true, Kralkatorrik will be active soon.
Cringe, that’s all.
It’s not new though, content rehashed again for the 3rd time after Fractured update in 2013 (with Thaumanova being the only new one) and Chaos Isles a few months ago.
I raid but I don’t like it, it just feels terrible and I would have liked more dungeons instead.
On the contrary, most EU groups are gentle, open-minded and not toxic at all. Be sure that you meet the requirements, listen to the commander and be a teamplayer.
Behaving like a d_ck or saying you are a “pro” which is not verifiable only by telling it will obviously result in a kick.
I had the previous poster in one of my groups, it was advertised as “exp”, he wasn’t, so he got kicked. That’s the reason why he is writing such a post because it is very safe he behaved like this several times and had to deal with the consequences every single time.
Yeah because you need to post that in every topic I’m in right? And even if I got kicked once, what does it mean? You people should stop making fixations like that, it’s childish and provocative, nothing else.
Back to the topic, I can assure you TC that EU is not that raid friendly, unless you have guild mates on EU don’t do it, NA has a better community overall.
Hey guys,
Well I’ve been planning to transfer from NA to EU, a big part of the reason I do that is the timelines are simply better for me to find static groups in.Being a pug deep down however, makes me wonder how is the raiding community in EU?
Do you have alot of groups in LFG or is it 95% statics? Can you recommend casual raiding guilds with statics that need +1? multiclass and exp but not looking for record breaking speed clears or w.e. ~ a name to whisper would be awesome (:
Thanks,
Shadow
EU raid community is really really bad compared to NA in term of behaviour, people will ask you to link many stuff and have over the top requirements to join them (like 100+ LI spammed in chat for a wing 2-3 boss and Envoy set).
For instance, some SC people and Brazil got kicked several times and had trouble finding groups with pugs in EU aswell, that says a lot.
Well, raids sucks, LS3 episodes every 3 months for 1-2h of gameplay each, PvP and WvW got destroyed and there’s no interesting content in PvE released in a regular basis aside raids, I mean no new dungeons and only one new fractal after 3 years which is made with pieces from others? No wonder why people are leaving/not interested.
Also add the fact that this year and 2017 are full of outstanding games, so good that GW2 is just like a shadow vanishing with all the light around.
My complaint about raids is how it destroys the idea of the “no trinity” in GW2, because now there’s one: Chronomancer, PS Warrior and Druid. Basically if you don’t have these, you’re not getting anywhere aside the easy encounters like VG, Trio or Escort and that’s a big shame.
They’re beatable without those… People are too blinded by the meta to do other things though. I haven’t read a single guide or watched a single video about raid content so I don’t know metas or anything when I would raid.
This and also the legendary insights issue.

We had so many options in the past before HoT came out, everything was cool but now it isn’t, I have to play Fresh Air Tempest or Chronotank because if I don’t I’m getting rejected by people in raids, guild or PUGs.
I already said it but they have to get back to dungeons and do more fractals without previous content rehash (Chaos Isle is cheap to me, the only new content was Thaumanova Reactor in 2013).
Outside of raids and ranked PvP, this is the best community I’ve ever seen.
m8 :/ alacrity is an elite spec exlusive mechanic/ buff like facets on revs, like got(kittening)l that druids bring the fact that alacrity doesnt benefit thieves should not mean that mesmers should not have alacrity or alacraty should change in any way. It means thief needs a rework something that would make this an actuall class that requires some skill rather than standing close to boss and semi afking while just dodging and aaing.Alacrity is fine the way it works your best bet atm is to w8 and hope that the next theif elite spec will do something else other than aaing
I hope they are going to do something because I can’t stand the meta now, Tempest is one of the most boring elite spec out there with DH…
Thief brings nothing other than DPS and some CC with the Venom share, but it got nerfed as far as I know so what’s the point? If anything, I think Alacrity should be nerfed or removed from the game, I fail to see the logic with it being restricted to Mesmers only, like why? Why is it not a boon that other professions can apply? I mean we’re repeating the same thing all over again like Quickness when it was a Mesmer exclusive.
Something that could work would be giving other bonus from Alacrity to Thief like weapon skills being faster.
Next raid is a wing of it’s own or it’s part of the Forsaken Thicket?
4 ele with glyph of elemental power and 1 druid is the new meta.
I’m gonna craft the Ascension soon and I want to share it through all my characters, but I wanna know if I’ll be able to change the stats (Viper to Commander for example) even if there are infusions inside.
ANet no longer has a dungeon team and has committed its resources elsewhere. We will not be getting more dungeons, and quite frankly I’m OK with that given the positive trends for Fractal and Raid development.
OK with 1 new fractal and broken raids?
Do you think Anet said ohh crap we need to change something since people are 3 man killing raid bosses?
Right like your old dungeon content is super easy because it was set up for exotic armor and 30-30-10 stats. Now we have 30-30-30 stats with ascended armor and buffed up HOT spec lines. Now people have found problems with the HOT spec lines that can exploit raids.
I mean if Anet wants to say that raids are the challenging end content fine but can they at least make it so classes/teams play the way it was suppose to be played?
I mean they have killed PvP/WvW/ and core Gw2 stuff and come to find out that there high end content for TEAM PLAY can be soloed cant be a good thing.
You forgot the fact they are going to release another raid wing in November and we will have to wait another 6 months for maybe one true new fractal because I don’t consider Chaos Isle fractal to be new, it’s recycling content in another form and to me, only Thaumanova Reactor was new 3 years ago.
They should just get back to dungeons with some raid/fractal mechanics to avoid stacking or be forced to pick an unoriginal meta build.
Full berserker is definitely the norm. For niche situations like raid tanking and such, people often throw in some commander’s or knight’s gear, but I read that zerker armor and some knights trinkets does the job for that well enough if the raid has a revenant for the extra boon duration. As for the weapons, zerker is also the go-to there, and zerker gear would be easily swapped to an ele or necro if you play those too.
You don’t need Commander for everything in raids right? Just some trinkets and armor?
Tomes as kits like Engineer would make Guardian a whole lot more fun to play and tactical, which is what the class desperately need because let’s be honest, the gameplay barely changed with DH compared to the other elite specs…
My experience with pugging HotW is actually better than any other dung. Of course you will have to kick out some 500 AP newbs who are randomly clicking lfg buttons and have no idea what they’re actually doing. But people who do HotW fullruns usually know their way around and are familiar with their class pretty well. That said, last time I pugged it was like 2-3 months ago, stuff may have changed.
That dungeon was not famous because of how long the paths took for the least amount of gold in all existing dungeons…
Wing 1 is the easiest, Wing 2 is the hardest and Wing 3 is very annoying because the fights are too obnoxious, KC and Xera are way longer than they should be.
So, since when an elder dragon dies another one takes his power, then that means Zhaitan was still alive after all and lived through Mordremoth, that would explain how he could destroy the pact so easily, he knew about the airships from Zhaitan, and Primordus + Jormag (though I think he absorbed the bloodstone power like Lazarus) probably knows how both Zhaitan and Mordremoth were defeated.
I know that i will stop going to fractals with my reaper for a long time.
Time to use my zerk DH hammer / viper DH sword on the dailies.
Hammer DH now without boonthieves (perma prot and no retal ) and with lower toughness will be really welcome in groups instead of kicked.
Holy kitten! I can play Guard again like in the old days before HoT? Great!
I might be saying something stupid but is it possible both Lazarus and Primordus are going to RoF not because of the Bloodstone but because of the Door of Komalie?
Probably there are bloodstones easier to access, and probably some of them are under white mantle control. If lazarus were aiming them, I think it would be logical to get those first.
What happenned to the Door of Komalie after the events of prophecies is a mystery for me, but if we assume it remained closed because the soul batteries, those batteries might “expire” soon. Considering this Lazarus might be heading that way to refill them.
Also if Lazarus was to fail in keeping the Door of Komalie closed and we encounter Titans once again, is it possible for Primordus to corrupt them? As far as I know Titans adapt to their terrains , if we encounter them in RoF they are all gonna be stones & fire, which could be corrupted by the Fire Dragon IMO.
Also if this can happen, Lazarus might be aiming to open the Door of Komalie to release Titans once again, but to be corrupted by the elder dragon, making him a lot stronger, which in return will weaken us much more.
Primordus doesn’t corrupt living beings unlike other elder dragons (or maybe it has never been seen), he endlessly create minions with earth and lava with kitten in their face as a mockery.
PS: I know this is the Smelter Demon from DS2 but it was too funny not to put in it.
5 ppl that know what they’re doing.

Btw.- I play T4 fractals with my guard, and while it really hurts having to cripple my DPS through trait adjustments just to avoid retaliation, it is still playable. Sure, not optimal, but totally doable. Just follow the old yet simple “respect the lfg” rule and don’t force yourself into parties that strictly don’t want guards in them.
So I’m gonna faceroll Reaper then, good thing is I have the ascended stuff needed but the bad part is the money for these infusions…
I used to play fractals daily before HoT came out when lvl50 was max level, but my Guardian is bad now because of terrible instabilities and mobs are huge sponges at HL, so I’ve been wondering, what are the best comps? I’m aware about Reaper OPness btw.
Didn’t the Mursaats decided to “hide” because of Elder Dragons? What if Primordus is after Lazarus and wants his magic to become stronger?
They said they were going to rework the boon thieves instability, otherwise Guardian is tricky to play as you lose a lot of DPS without Symbols and you can’t use your Wall of Reflection since it’s a light field too, so in the end you’re like a poor core Mesmer I’d say.
Disagree.
At gw2 launch 2.546.124 players played hardest content. (Arah dungeon)
6 months later 1.8245.654 (fractal update).
1 year later, 1,124.456 players played liadri, concealing dark (8 orb extra challenge)
6 months later 741.874 (Fractal level 100 was added)
Another 8 months later: 600.754 Hot Added, difficult maps/mobs only this much people have all masteries, map completions, and story completions in this map
3 months later: raids. Player tried 1.541.235. Players succeed 214.456
5 months later, game in stagnation, only two raids added, current amount of total play (defeats included) 412.456
4 months later: OP’s suggestion makes it out: 214.214 people left doing it
4 month later, op’s suggesiton make it out again 124.478
1 year later, 3 inclusions more: 32.458 players left, playing hardest content. These numbers are artificial, and made up, but they are made up to illustrate a point, wich correlates closely with reality (in my opinion) of what Anet has done.
You can’t make up numbers and then proceed to use them as an argument. That is absurd
Politicians have been doing it for decades and people still vote for them.
Then when it is revealed to the ignorant that the numbers are made up he pretends to be upset, and at the next election vote for someone else that also made up all the numbers.
They should do more fractals/dungeons than raids, only 1 fractal after 3 years is terrible and shouldn’t be praised at all, it’s not even entirely new. Raids aren’t even harder than fractals, there are no real instant kill or annoying stuff to deal with, they are just puzzle which once you know how to solve it becomes trivial and for less rewards than Fractals again.
What on earth are you trying with that build? You have ZERO % condition duration on everything but chill (which doesn’t really matter anymore) and only 1/3 (~500) of the conditiondamage you should have (~1.5k+). You are playing with conditionbased weapons but use berserkerstats on them? Celestrial used to have every stat before HoT and the introduction of concentration and expertise (there where + boon duration and + condition duration stats on one statcombination but that was the exception). After the introduction of expretise celestrial became even more suboptimal for condition builds.
To be precise: over a longer battle you are cutting the potential conditiondamage of your build by half because you don’t use runes/sigills/bufffood/expertise to increase your condition duration. You are cutting your conditiondamage even more by using only ~500 condition damage. Might increases it to 1.2k but with 25 stacks of might you should have ~2.5k.
The ability to stack 25 Stacks of vulnerability on your own is nice in solo scenarios, but if you are playing with a group the boss will most likely always have 25 stacks of vulnerability. 25 Stacks might are mostly spreaded by a ps, but groups of mostly necros can buff themselves with blood is power. Your build stacks might only for yourself!
In terms of power damage: celestrial doesn’t grant you more power than viper+sinister. Viper(+sinister) provides more power than celestrial (~100)! Also viper mixed with sinister provides a bit more precision than celestrial.
In general you are sacrificing more than 75% of your damage for a bit survivability with your build. I would recommend not to use such a build in groupscenarios.
btw: a condition reaper doesn’t want to be like 100% of the time in his shroud. you may use it as a second lifebar in presure situations or just use #4 and leave or additional #3 and #5 in case you need CC. You can use #5 as an icefield to whirl in if you don’t need CC in the next minute.
Inb4 they add a stat made with Celestial stuff that has Concentration and Expertise.
Ya right, except you won’t let average player into your group because we haven’t already done raid 100 times. Public groups are out of the question for someone wanting to start raids.
My only personal requirement when I make a pub is that they understand the mechanics well enough to not need them explained. If they are bad players who die repeatedly and consistently fail the mechanics, they’ll be removed from the group after a few failures so it doesn’t affect the entire team too badly. I don’t think anything about that is particularly unfair.
Join a guild raid? Most already have their “core raid team” maybe sometimes they might run a “pitty party” and kill 1 boss with some member who aren’t in the inner circle for charity work, but nothing serious.
Speaking as a leader of one such guild, you’re absolutely incorrect. I am willing to bring any serious member of the guild to any boss and explain the whole fight and work it through with them. If they’re an extremely bad player and can’t stay alive through anything, well, then we bring them to easier encounters so that they can practice. Obviously if they show no signs of improvement or willingness to improve, I’m not going to keep bringing them. Again, nothing here seems particularly outlandish or unfair to ask of players.
This exclusivity is why raids are bad.
The perception that all or even a majority of groups are exclusive is what’s bad, as it’s just not true. I see training runs grouping up and learning all of the time and have even helped them out. I personally lead a guild that brings total new raiders into difficult encounters and witness them thrive. The exclusivity is self-imposed; people see groups asking for requirements and then assume that all groups have requirements and then give up. If you’re serious about wanting to be a raider, you can do what we all did back in the day—gear up appropriately, practice a lot with your class on DPS rotations and skill usage, watch a lot of videos, and then get in there and try it!!
Just because you’re different doesn’t mean everyone is like you, you’re speaking for a minority again
A lot of people would rather attack and belittle anyone who dares to criticize raids than admit there is an actual issue here.
That is a common debate topic where the goal is to shut down the conversation rather than directly address the topic raised. It is typically a sign of a weak position and desperation more than anything.
To people like the OP, I say don’t let people frighten you away from expressing your opinion.
It doesn’t matter what raids were originally designed for. It doesn’t matter if a small group of people consider them successful. What matters is the impact they are having on the overall endgame, their impact on the morale of the playerbase and making sure EVERYONE’s opinion is heard.
If people have issue with the current state of raids, then they should make those issues known. If people disagree with those issues, they should debate those issues directly. Making it personal about the poster – no matter what the situation – is just a bad debate tactic.
As an example of good feedback, see Rising Dusk’s post above. While I disagree with what he is saying (I don’t care what they were meant to do – I think what is important is the real impact on players in the game), he did something almost no other person did in this thread. He kept it about the topic and debated the points rather than attacking the person.
That’s pretty much the “hardcore” PvE forumers in a nutshell, they point out old stuff and get along with it just because they don’t like it, it’s like people in general who dislike a particular person for whatever reasons and would try their hardest to not let him do stuff he wants or enjoy.
As for Vince, I’m not gonna bother but you should stop spreading false accusations, the only thing in which I screwed up badly was the reflect (which is a bad strategy btw, 2 reflects and more healing/support is better), seeing that you worship the CM so hard means you might be on his guild, maybe I’m wrong but I don’t care, grow up and make sandwiches.
