There was a post from Reddit about this. Only 1 mob type counts. They are looking into it. I can’t remember the name of the mob but if you look up the Reddit thread in the general discussion forum it’s in there. But that’s the only one worth killing ATM
Check the wiki for these achievements. There are specific spots you need to go. The tip in the achievement expalins it a bit but the wiki is more clear.
Your not deleting your characters to transfer right? Your post doesn’t seem to imply that but if you are be careful because your personal bank will go poof I believe.
It doesn’t matter if other games work fine for you. That doesn’t tell you all that much about your connection to Anet servers. Servers to other games are probably not in Seattle. That’s why you run a ping plotter test. Anet won’t take any claims seriously unless you run a test and it shows there is packet loss on their end. You should wait a couple weeks and see what happens with burnzerker. It was nerfed hard but they are looking at revamping the nerf. So at this point I’d say wait before putting in a large investment.
The tool isn’t able to be set up for 10 man parties. So instead of making a new section that would only kind of work (one person dropping squad and posting in LFG), they are choosing to do nothing for now. They hope to at some point be able to redo the LFG tool to allow for 10 man squad.
I don’t agree with this but their logic is reasonable. I’d rather have a half baked way of doing this than the circus it is now.
Believe it or not, devs are probably more frustrated by this problem than most of us. So how about show some support instead of shooting arrows at their knees.
That being said, @devs: if there is any way the players can provide data or any way to help out, please let us know. We are all very eager to help.
The real problem is lack of communication. Some communication would go a long way here. But according to my recent interaction with Gaile, communication occurs in terms of when it’s fixed = there was communication. In the meantime we wait to see if the fix occurs so we can see if communication happened or not. So people become upset and choose things like refunds or quite and never bother coming back to see if it was fixed. I don’t really approve of this form of communication. Granted I do appreciate the devs, especially Gaile and everything she does but I do not agree with how issues like this get handled.
The idea that the ascended drop rate is the same as before HoT seems crazy to me. That or there is a bug that only effects some people. I don’t have a nice spreadsheet like above (started one after seeing that) but for myself, I used to get 1-2 chests per week doing a daily 49/50. (single fractal) Since the Patch, I’ve gotten maybe 2 (1 was from a recommended daily 19). Speaking with others they have had similar experiences. Though I have heard that some people are getting good/similar drops. Many others are getting garbage. That and doing higher level fractals (>=90) doesn’t seem to improve your chances by much if at all. Definitely not worth the increase in time. I’m curious how the spreadsheet was generated. I’m assuming it is across multiple people based on the numbers. I will say that for the first week post patch the numbers seemed decent but since then it has been barren. Either way, keeping detailed track of the chests now so that it is more precise. Maybe my RNG is in a lull.
Regarding the armor sets. I’m glad I’m not a new player having to craft from scratch.
After the Fractured update, I ran scale 30/40/50 fractals daily. In 6 months of fractal running, I didn’t get a single ascended box or fractal weapon. I started running fractals again 3 weeks ago. I’ve received 4 ascended boxes so far.
Fractured killed drop rates. It took Anet months but eventually they changed it. It was still not right after that change and they changed it again to up it. I think there was another one or two times where it got messed up and was changed again. But since fractured the drop rate has changed like 4-5 times now because they have constantly messed it up and it took a lot of data collection to prove it before they would look into it.
Really? This guy is almost certainly trolling, calling intended game behavior an “exploit” for questionably thought-out reasons and we aren’t allowed to call him out on that? He hasn’t even addressed the issue of the amount of DPS you lose running back to a boss after you die, or the fact that there is no competitive nature to world bosses in the first place and complaining about other players’ playstyles in a cooperative environment is needlessly toxic. And the community for the past few months has been toxic enough. Why allow people to post in forums if you’re going to censor legitimate criticism? There are ridiculously more outrageous posts I’ve seen that don’t even get a second glance. I’m done trying to defend this game. If the forum team wants to encourage pointless bickering, that’s the way it goes eh?

Of course it is biased towards new players. It’s the first quest on the quest line.
The relevance is people feel frustrated and want to know when this is getting fixed. I was validating that and explaining how things get fixed in batches and how communication on this specifically may not be the best, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it this is not being addressed. I was trying to be helpful. In no way was I telling people to stop posting about it.
Basically just check the LFG, people still do this once and awhile but a lot less so than previously. I think fractals might be the second fastest way.
I noticed a lot of people posting here are newer players. I also have the same issue. However I would bet that this will be fixed with the next patch. Anet acknowledged this issue last week. They have been trying to do less small patches for issues like this and instead do a larger patch fixing several issues at once. This was explained a few months ago because there were complaints about constant patching and interrupting game play.
I wish there was a bit better communication but if I had to bet, most likely, there is a fix for this on the way but it won’t roll out immediately as it gets chunked in with other issues that get fixed all at once.

I like it how it is. It’s like winning the lotto. It’s the only item besides fractal tonic that is like this and I’m okay with that. And no I don’t have it nor fractal tonic.
It’s great you guys ask for feedback. I really do appreciate that. However if you hang out in the forums long enough you start to feel that the feedback isn’t going anywhere. This needs to be more of an ongoing and reciprocal conversation. Out of our feedback I would expect a post addressed to the player base saying " We heard you on the following points, we will be looking into them as resources allow. [followed by a list of points]." Then perhaps later or with the same post: “Points 3,7,12, and 15 are going to be a higher priority for us. Points 5,8, and 9 may not be something that is possible. Again this information is tentative and subject to change.”
I understand the player base takes things literally so you have to be carful what you say. But it feels like we have all these threads about good feedback and very little comes out of them. I’m not sure what this disconnect is but it has become apparent to anyone that frequents the forums.

It happened back with the tower of nightmare. There was experimenting with slyvari glow. They actually made it like twice as bright which also affected things like cultural armor and it was really cool. Unfortunately some people didn’t like it and they reverted it. But this also messed the colors up at the time for npcs.

You’re just thinking too literally. Usually literal thinking leads to a positive result or correct answer. However there are several exceptions to this. This just happens to be an exception. If you look at the bigger picture, it is unhelpful to define every weapon as a DPS weapon for discussion sake. We all know that all weapons deal damage in some way. That’s a given. But when we want to talk about combat characteristics of each weapon we come up with broader categories for them. This includes things like support and damage. Even tho all of them are dealing damage.
Anyway if you can’t understand this it’s fine. Some people can only think literally and struggle to think outside of that. And really it’s fine. But I’m not going to argue about it.
Every single weapon that deals ANY damage is by definition a “dps weapon”, since they deal more or less DPS. Just fyi.

For discussion sake we don’t say every weapon is a DPS weapon. Some weapons are for support or defense but of course they also deal damage. Then Some weapons are designed specifically for damage.

I believe the community may be in need of your services. I heard ominous tellings of certain mini pets aiding adventurers in fights such as in world vs world. Commanders of Jade Quarry believe super monkeys are currently the strongest mini pet they have encountered. Unfortunately this damage is insidious as no mere gamer can see it in the damage logs. Someone with an insightful eye, like yourself, may be able to shed light on this issue.

You should type /ip and report the ip so if they investigate it they know which server. It’s possible to get a different server shard this time around depending on who opens.
I’m not sure there is actually a gray area on this issue. It’s really not controversial at all. But anyway my other comments weren’t really directed toward the issue. It was toward the people discussing math. And as Zoltar pointed out there are some people here bad at math as days divided by 365 does not equal months.
Although you could just do this once and write it down or save the dates In a word doc. It would be pretty much the same thing. I’m not saying I’m opposed to this. I don’t know how much Dev time this would take to make and if it’s significant then I would be opposed to it.
It’s horizontal progression. You should have seen all of the QQ when they added the ability to change stats. Anyway at this point it is not going to be changing so no use putting much effort into advocating for anything different. Except maybe the ability to save sigils.
This would be really cool but would have a lot of issue to implement. Like not enough room, how it would work with mega servers, and I’m sure something I didn’t think of. Awesome idea tho. I think someday mmo’s will be able to accomplish this but right now I don’t see it happening.
