After like 5-6 yoloq runs got dc on forest..server error..ok….went back and was fine…then i got legacy and server error on map loading, tried again 6 (SIX) times and everything was fine until legacy map loading stuck and dc, server error…all 6 times…
I gave up, i remeber this exact thing happening like last year still on legacy, map loading stuck and dc…daf is going on?

So, now that the Skyhammer changes have gone in (hammer now dodgable, floor break time increased, can’t break floors while in stealth), what are people’s opinions? Is it bearable, or even fun, now?
I’m interested in seeing these questions answered by those who have posted in this thread with a generally negative opinion, but have gone back and retried the map since yesterday’s changes.
In your opinion, are yesterday’s changes to Skyhammer generally positive? Are there other small tweaks like this (aside from removal of solo queue) that you feel would make the map a better experience for players – changes that wouldn’t drastically change the gameplay dynamic and aesthetic of the map?
yeah, can still pull and kb to death but it’s overall way better than before…cannon changes were definately needed..working like treb is fine now. In a game built around dodge mechanic having something undodgeable was simply nonsense
shatter mesmer need a nerf into the ground, its zero fun to play vs this spec since release…
the shatter dmg, clones, ports and stealth is just ridiculous op.
also every game with mesmers in general is not much fun with this npcs everywhere running around (but thats another problem of this game)in this forum peoples complain about rapid fire on ranger at the moment
first nerf the mesmer dmg, its insane op and this profession have more as enough survive mechanics compared to the rest of zerker builds to nerf the damage of mesmer allready!there is not much you can predict when you get shattered out from stealth and after that this the mesmer just port away again and you dropt bellow 50% hp
really nice to fight this kitten profession if you are not a thief.

If you have good mates (Yeah i know…it’s soloq) you can fight 5v4 letting the usual braindead engi/mesmer/whatever camping hammer while you can just dodge it, it’s way easier than treb too since you can always see it with all those lights, announcements and stuff
Long story short: l2dodge and leave him on cannon
2 dps can kill lord in seconds ignoring guards with stealth, those guards are also way too weak the only decent thing they can do is blocking projectiles…everything else is just worthless. If they are eles make them heal lord at least….and yeah removing annoucements would be nice. And kitten give him an healing skill without 2 seconds cast time…even a monkey can interrupt that

380The score is so one-sided because red team has 4 players and the blue team has 5.
One of the players on the red team pushes the B button…. and goes into spectator mode… creating a shortage of two players for the red team
……forcing a player to be Autobalanced to red from the blue team.
As soon as the autobalance occurs…. the teams will then be even, and the player who is spectating can now join the winning team instead of being on the losing team.
Even if he gets returned to the losing team due to a future autobalance, he will still receive credit for winning.
Please remove this from Hotjoin spvp….. people are abusing is so much, it is absurd.
ppl caring about hotjoin…i usually go there just to test stuff and troll….who cares hj is kitten and full of kitten, we have WAY more important things to fix before looking at hotzerg

Last ppl i had in team in soloq were probably thinking they were in hj, i got far…1v2 (Other team was really really bad but somehow mine was worse) and they lost everything….they saw we (Well I) got a point so everyone went far standing there…so i moved to mid while it was freecap…got mid and everyone of them left far and went sitting on mid…well not really everyone, our almighty power ranger went svanir, died and got it stolen..
i was like wtf…but then i remembered i was in soloq…so alt f4 and gg

there was the usual reterded engi sitting at hammer last night, he made his team loose cause they had to play 4v5 the whole game while everyone on our team could easily dodge cannon….still it should be totally removed from soloq but at least it’s a bit less braindead then before…maybe…
Nerf Fire+Air (or Blood or w/e) job done. Shatter Mesmer isn’t OP, the double proc sigils are.
Well this might be a solution. But since all the shatter mesmers have those sigils it is more one factor that makes the current state of the build op.
Totally fine with nerfing double sigil proc…it would make s/d unviable and nerfing thieves (Even if not deserved) is always good for mesmers xD

The topic is getting too long I ca’tn read and reply everything. Anyway I have stated what I think about shatter mesmer. It is too strong, has way too few counters, and overwall toxic for the game. I would even go further and say zerker specs are the reason spvp is not a popular game mode. Probably there are more people doing living story or even jumping puzzles than spvp nowadays.

Uh.. I think Spirit Watch, competitively, is much closer than Skyhammer. At least people still run builds for conquest, and not builds for ping pong.
Skyhammer > Spirit Watch. In Spirit Watch, you have orb running builds (defensive warrior with main hand sword is the biggest example) and not conquest builds. It needs multiple people to even keep it slowed down, which gives the rest of the team an advantage on the nodes. If you don’t have one, you lose.
On Skyhammer, other than stealth pulls, all that CC is avoidable by playing well.
other than stealth pulls, temporal curtain after ripping stability, corrupt boon + 2 fears and unavoidable cannon shots…yeah…
But lets all not act like in an open field duel off point a shatter mesmer isn’t one of the best specs in game – it has all the tools to avoid damage/conditions
yeah too bad noone cares bout dueling arenas and kitten like that. Tpvp is conquest not duels…and noone is gonna 1v1 around map with mesmer in tpvp cause their thief is gonna jump on you in less than 10 secs..going alone with mesmer is a deathwish already…let alone going alone to yolo 1v1 in the middle of nowhere

Probably not the most balanced map (Cause there are still classes than can spec for orb running and stuff) but for sure not even close to be as stupid and cheese as skyhammer. I’d rather play 10 spirit watch than ONE skyhammer.

Do you really think mesmer is OP in comparison to ele? Mesmer is easily the worst class right now, and you basically have to build a team around a mesmer because they need maximum protection. You NEED a thief with a mesmer. A class that needs to “be carried” is not OP. Cele ele, a class that carries every fight and every situation, is OP. The reason cele fights take so long isn’t because their doing “magical combos and working together”. It’s because they are all self sustaining bunkers that can kite, DPS, rotate on and off point, have high mobility, and HIGH SUPPORT to keep teamfights going forever. It doesn’t take skill to play such a comp.

No, macros is the term. Complex combos requiring specific timing programed into 1 key. It’s more common than you think and virtually undetectable.
More common? Let’s say half good eles actually use macros especially dps…there was even one (And i think old players can remember him) who actually went for a world tournament final with those…and he also had to play ranger during final cause it was on lan and couldn’t macro there. So yeah…
And don’t even try to say he didn’t use them cause i actually know who made those macros for him…and he also showed me the same one that guy was using to 18-20k in 0.3 secs with zerk dps ele. Got oneshotted on both bunker guard (With aegis on) and rabid ranger in less than half second

PvP becomes lame when people are doing it for any reason other than they like to PvP. Too much rewards attracts the wrong kinda players to a competitive game mode.I can understand what you are trying to say, but wouldn’t having more people actually make the entire SPVP better?
- we wouldn’t have 10+ min queues anymore
- we would get more attention from Anet
- eventually, even if all of the new people are bad, some of them will learn and evolve

Teldo was a node fighter for sure, but he was almost the only one able to do that, after they made decrap engi viable pretty much everyone after some time was able to do what he used to do only because he was the best engi in the world, engi wasn’t brainded when only really good engis could do that…it got reterded right after they made it so easy that every average player could do things that required a really high skill level before. Izerk on shatter mesmer still hits pretty hard and it’s still fine since alwais had been a really easy skill to dodge (Also considering how crap staff phantasm is) and the only other good dmg output if shatter combo on cd…if you remind i wasn’t against backstab nerf at first (Assassin’s signet) because it was really too much dmg, i was against later nerfs (Like c&d) that, infact, totally made d/d unviable and it’s still unviable after almost 2 years. So do you really want to say i was wrong asking not to nerf everything on d/d thief? How many d/d thieves can you see in tn atm? Right…not even one. And btw the really first spec i was playing on thief was s/d dazelock (Tactical strike with mesmer runes) that also was the hardest spec to play (Probably also compared to actual meta too) and they nerfed it too since it was way better than backstab in the right hands…i basically stopped playing thief after dazelock and d/d got nerfed to the ground and never went back to it.

Noone ever asked to buff AI in pvp (Or at least noone playing at decent levels)…ppl keep asking to totally remove ai and spam specs since one year ago, but they made this pvp casual friendly and THIS is the reason why so many old pvp players left. Ppl asked to nerf spirit ranger and old decap engi just because they were too easy to play making bad players being decent with pretty much no skill involved…and then they buffed turret crap…ppl just quit because competitive pvp just turned into some sort of casual friendly 1-3 button spam crap.

Buffing useless stuff is good…making it spam to win it’s not, and i’ve always been against casual friendly specs like phantasm mesmer (Never played phantasm in tpvp once in my life in more than 3k tn matches), bm ranger, spirit ranger, decap engi, turret engi and so on….you won’t find ONE post from me in 2 years asking to make this pvp easier. Since you’re talking about TP then you probably remember how engi was high skill high reward during those times…really good engis could even 1v2 (Like teldo) while others weren’t able to do kitten. That’s how it should be for every single class/spec around and this is what i’m asking since start….atm you need to be REALLY good on shatter mesmer in order to be effective and not a freekill while it only takes 1 week to be able to play any celestial crap out here and being decent (Not god for sure but decent) in any average tpvp match in pretty high ladder too. Same goes with pre patch warrior (Now it’s still good but no more crazy how it was before)…took 1 year to get to a good level on mesmer, went on warrior and i was already playing it in top 100 after 1-2 weeks…and this was wrong for warrior and it’s wrong for all those celestial spam bs around
Just to make and example: wanna buff turrets because they were worthless last year? Fine. Buff turrets and make them not full auto but with aim and fire controlled by the engi…useless stuff buffed and ppl who can’t play will never able to do kitten while good players would…buff =/= casual friendly and easy, but those guys at anet will probably never get that

lol basing whether a class is viable off of solo q is sooooo stupid….. As you can see im r1 Solo q….. I hadnt played in 5months, i Played 1 game, went up 17k ranks to rank 1…… I play pistol/pistol 17 13 28 12 10 thief…. does that make it viable?? Warrior is fine, you just cant be as terrible when you play it….

Warrior is viable but has its counters while d/d celestial (For example) if played at decent level has pretty much no counters in 1v1…not even other celestial specs and can also roam faster than hambow , this makes d/d ele better side bunker than war atm since if you have a decent ele on close he can probably get out from every possible 1v1 without backup no matter the class/spec he would face, and that’s a HUGE advantage in tournament..and keep in mind atm there are many more mesmers around and mesmers are pretty much uncatchable with war and you will always gonna lose in 1v1 on hambow if you get a mesmer who knows how easy is to kite you around

I’m totally against the decay we have now.
I’d like a leaderboard in which is much harder to reach top 1000.
And at the same time, it should be much harder to decay beyond top 1000. It’s not like once you have proven to be a top player (let’s say top 25) and you don’t play for 3 months you become a complete newbe like these leaderboards imply.
Problem is that when you get back you can now win just one match against anyone and you will be back to top 25 even if you go pug at 4 am and kill some randoms not even on ladder…then you can leave pvp for another 3 months rinse and repeat

Real problem is also ppl evading dacay playing once every like 2 days in odd hours being able to keep their rank without playing against something at their level. Ppl can’t stay top 100 if they only win against 3-4 am pugs. If someone wanna stay top 100 they must win and keep winning against all other top 100 teams otherwise they must go down…atm if you’re top ladder or you know you can’t get higher than you are you can just que up in odd hours staying there pretty much forever with almost no effort…atm once you get there it’s done, but being top ladder should be something you must fight for everyday not just a couple of matches and then disappear from prime times.

Nah not permanent…right now if you are 300 you won’t go100 just winning one match against a top 100 team anyway….with what i’m saying you will go back to 100 if you got decay to 300 but you first need to win just one match vs a 150 or better team…still a huge difference from those who are 300 and those who just got decay to 300..but at least they’ll have to prove to belong to their old position first…high ladder ppl stomping pugs at odd hours avoiding playing against each other it’s a huge problem and for sure another thing that makes those ladder completely worthless, it’s like on soccer everyone just sitting on top just playing against amateur teams…beating amateurs should not allow someone to stay on high ranks

Some easy fixes aimed at giving some sense to ladder
Decay working the same as now but being able to go back on your old position only after winning a match vs another team (Or soloq comp) with mmr in the same range
Example you’re 100 > you decay to 300 for not playing > you have to win vs a team with mmr not less than -50 positions from where you were before decay (So upper 150) in order to get back to your old rank, if you were 100 you went to 300 and you win vs a 200 team you’re just going up to 200 then but not back to 100…and everything under that -50 range only making decay slower (NOT STOPPING until you get an even matchup). This is gonna solve the % (After not playing for some time) back to top 100 bs after winning (Or losing) vs pugs/bad teams and holding your ladder rank going for late night roflstomping when noone at you level is around…to stay on top teams would have to CONSTANTLY win against teams at their level and can’t just sit on top winning 1 match at 4am every day.
+ Total ladder and mmr reset every 2 months or so giving everyone a chance to go up way faster than now if they’re good enough with some “endseason” decent rewards for top ranks ofc so efforts won’t be wasted
This is mainly aimed at tque ofc…soloq is a bit more tricky and they must remove skyhammer (And fix 4v5) first before going for good ladder anyway, with afk, 4v5 and sh crap still on it wouldn’t have sense anyway

2 games last night…first one skyhammer vs full cheese focus/nullfield mesmer+2 engis team, second one legacy 4v5 with some reterded guy called Afk Solo Q obviously afking…i didn’t even try for a third..
Fix your kitten anet and start permabanning (Yeah PERMA) idiots too…we definately need some cleanup in pvp since we don’t even have an afk report option (Let alone reports are going nowhere anyway)

Dieing while moving on ct’s roof or stairs IS NOT normal for sure, there must be something really wrong with z axis going on there…but looking at how much it takes to fix bugs here well…gl with that
