Noone ever asked to buff AI in pvp (Or at least noone playing at decent levels)…ppl keep asking to totally remove ai and spam specs since one year ago, but they made this pvp casual friendly and THIS is the reason why so many old pvp players left. Ppl asked to nerf spirit ranger and old decap engi just because they were too easy to play making bad players being decent with pretty much no skill involved…and then they buffed turret crap…ppl just quit because competitive pvp just turned into some sort of casual friendly 1-3 button spam crap.
With 15% more Reward Track progress the cap of 2 tiers per day is reached faster. I therefore suggest increasing the cap while Call of the Mists is active to 3 or even 4 tiers per day (in Hotjoin).
I suggest reward tracks progressing only by winning (Yes…WINNING, why should someone get rewards when losing) TeamQ

Did read the highlights of this thread, was disappointing to read the challenge was not accepted. i am sorry europeans but my bet is on NA super pugs this time.
Just think of PvP’ers as people in the military, they get paid, its not crazy amazing and its not dirt poor either. As a PvE’er you can get crazy rich, but as a PvP’er you can get your name etched in stone and talked about throughout the lands of Tyria.
Just like Vanderbilt, a PvE’er, accumulating 100 million over a hundred years ago (1.5 trillion worth today) (others include Bill Gates, Henry Ford as PvE’ers), and I would consider people like Adolf Hitler, Napolean, Alexander the Great PvP’ers.
They were freakin rich too btw…well at least during their good times
It’s funny because someone just posted a thread on the WvW forums asking why we aren’t rewarded as well as you are.
I mean you have easy access to skill point scrolls, leveling tomes, awesome finishers that require little more than a grind, unique armor for nothing more than a grind, easy access to dungeon armor that PvErs need to run numerous times to get a single piece, etc etc etc.
From the outside looking in, it would appear far too much effort is spent appeasing the PvP players over the WvWers.
Perhaps they should remove all of this, award Badges of Honor for PvP play just like it’s awarded for WvW play and turn those badges into a legitimate currency that could then be exchanged for:
10 badges == skill point scroll.
100 badges == leveling book.
1000 badges == PvE/PvP armor piece.
etc etc etc.
I don’t pve at all (Not even zerg vs zerg) and i have 8 chars at 80 in first account 5 chars 80 in second account and 3 80 in third + more than 200 tomes AND skillpoints scrolls in storage and can’t do kitten with them. Just let us sell those craps on tp at least…i don’t need pve levels in pvp let alone hundreds of account bounded tomes that i will never been able to use after I leveled up everything I have (For no reason anyway)
And tons of crap from chest too only good to fill your inventory up once you start opening them…i’d rather get gold only (Even less than all this kitten worth) but not having to spend 10 minutes/day opening chests and selling or destroying stuff…stop forcing ppl playing pvp to go pve in order to give our rewards some sense…right now it’s just a waste of time we don’t even have a kittening bank and tp there so just stop giving us stuff we can’t do kitten with in pvp

In pvp all stats are equal you can only swap worthless skins almost noone cares about
so…noone actually cares about buying legendaries (Or about ppl doing that) with gems, golds or whatever, you should post this in pve or sheeps vs sheeps (zergs vs doors or however you wanna call it) forums..
They should totally remove legendary crap from pvp anyway, those things only add more particle kitten and weird animations noone wants there…if someone wants to go for a swag contest you can go pve and show your stuff off, in heart of the mists noone gives a kitten bout that, or about how many mobs, rocks, trees and dungeons you farmed anyway
The MMR spread between a rank 3 and 97% can actually be very small. Your leaderboard rank (for the top players) is your position in a sorted list, and does not represent the distance between players other than to say one is lower than the other.

I’ve been playing alot of Team PvP lately. I have noticed the number of longbow rangers are growing hugely. I didn’t mind to much, but I realised I lose very much when I am in a team with multiple longbow rangers, which is very common. I think this is because longbow rangers want to stay on a big distance. This has very much disadventages for my team:
-We do not receive any buffs from you or get debuffs removed.
- You are most likely to not stand on the point when fighting, not making it at least neutral.
So please take this advice: Longbow is fine, I don’t mind. But please just get on the point (Probably smarter with a melee weapon, but I would already happy with that).
As for a repeat: do not feel insulted, it is not ment like that

There’s nothing that can rek TCG atm…cause they can adapt in order to win every single matchup they get, they run a really flexible comp that can fill many ways to go not just the usuals condispam comps we see all around

Mesmer with focus, arcane thievery and nullfield is probably the most broken kitten you can get on skyhammer there’s basically nothing you can do if he’s decent enough…rangers have knockback from longbow and fear on wolf btw..

I haven’t got a chance to talk to ROM in game yet, but I would like to be able to 1v1 him if its possible. While he may not main ranger, I watched the way he plays and he has a lot of potential with the class if he can learn the right rotations to maximize damage.
As for power rangers in tpvp, are you talking about zerk or actual power specs?
Power is good for dueling and roaming scenarios alone. You don’t deal enough damage to effectively help during a fight tpvp-wise and actually end up hindering your team as it is very difficult to hold a point/provide the necessary support with either damage and/or buffs.
Zerker ranger however, is good in tpvp. It would be the primary roamer of the team and would be able to sit on the sidelines and pump out enough damage to change the tide of a fight. Even if the zerk ranger can’t down the person/get the kill, putting someone on the defensive means less pressure on your teammates.
Going duo or trioq is pretty fun…you can win way more going with 2-3 on ts instead of alone or 4 (If you go 4+1 you’re probably gonna get premades) but sometimes you get some ppl that are totally uncarriable….
Problem is that we have no “not ranked” tque for new players or ppl testing stuff, you can’t really test a side point defender in hj cause they’re just gonna zerg you with 3+ all time, let alone trying to roam…and soloq well..skyhammer…
Too much stuff going on here…cause you also need to count might stacks, how fast can you build it (Also sonsidering other specs in your comp, like fighting with a bunker guard in tf or being alone on side for example)
Dps aswell as cond dmg output can change drastically from one situation to another, stats alone don’t prove that much cause if you look at 2 warriors one with zerk amulet and the other with soldier you may think zerk one is gonna have way more dps than soldier…in the real world soldier has intelligence signet and if you use it the right way dps is not gonna be that lower…if soldier hambow is fighting near bunker guard he’s probably gonna deal more damage than a zerk one 1v1 on side..and even in a 1v1 situation soldier will last longer than zerk so total damage output would probably be higher anyway with lower dps ofc
And keep in mind that in this meta survivability and sustain is WAY more important than dps…winner is gonna be the one who can last longer not the one who can deal more damage..

I believe after all of these useless updates the only way A-net could fix the SPvP in this game would be by adding new weapons for each class(ie: Guardian with daggers hee-hee), new classes, new trait lines, etc, or just nerf all of the gimmick builds, so people have to start thinking again, or even just go back two patches! Keep all of the reward tracks and additions like that but just take the skill balance back a couple patches!
Solo Q is littered with trashy gimmick builds making SPvP almost as challenging as PvE. In my last match I could identify 5 people running builds off of www.metabattle.com. This is rediculous, and I know it won’t change.
(don’t talk to me about trying team pvp, it’s almost the same story just with more decap engis)

LOL There are people out there who don’t usually play meta specs (Like xerrex) being way BETTER than randoms playing meta specs…just saying…if you don’t know how to rotate, how to play against different classes and specs or to dodge (At least) you’re gonna be a freekill even if you run the best meta builds around…that, btw, are not there…(Hambow with strenght runes and sure footed…yeah…and variants with celestial or zerker ROFL)…my ranger’s spec isn’t even there and it’s the most kittened thing you can play on ranger atm (Not dps crap ofc)…while they put power (again…POWER) ranger in that while it had never been meta and never will be outside killing randoms in hotjoin, that site is a joke…and ppl believing that are even worse

problem is that ele (This time) is pretty balanced…celestial + might stacking isn’t…and not only on eles…just look at sword offhand wars and celestial engis for example..

Is there some sort of tanky mesmer build? Right now I’m all berserker’s with traits into everything +dmg to phantasms and it’s not working cause it seems like my dmg vs others is still low and I get downed in just a few hits.
mesmers can’t bunker points…due to stealth , kiting and skills making you loose cap…
so there’s no need for a bunker mesmer since it won’t work anyway unless you wanna play reterded PU only decent in wvsw or yolo 1v1s noone cares about, in tpvp it’s just totally worthless so unless you want to be flamed hard (With good reason)i won’t suggest you to run PU outside hj, wvsw or other crap like those

- Get 2 points carrying as much as you can
- Watch half of your team going far at 5 secs to enemy’s respawn
- Watch the same bunch of reterds getting wiped on far
- Hf being outnumbered and loosing everything else while they keep going one by one vs 2-3 getting farmed
- Alt F4
I think Spvp will benefit if it has a mode where 5 new players can match up against 5 AI’s. That way they can learn the game without getting stomp by veteran players. This will improve their experience in Spvp. I’m surprise the NPE did not include this new feature.
There are ppl around in tpvp who are just gonna be rekt even vs AI i guess..i’d rather have an AI cele d/d ele or war or bunker guard in team than like 50% of ppl out there…can we get our heroes back from gw1? Please?

Over the past few days I have been doing a few solo and duo queues into Team Arena (since rewards are best there) and saw a lot of rangers.
