Are you saying you can’t use the shift key on your computer keyboard to make capital letters? If you shift key doesn’t work, how do you know it’s the keyboard and not the game?
The terminology ANet uses can be confusing. Many people confuse the account name with the display name.
The display name is what shows up on the forum. In this case, vasil petrov.6458 is your display name. Your account name is the email you use to login to the forum and the game.
The display name can only be changed if it has personal information or if it breaks TOS. The account name, your email, can be changed by contacting support.
So if it’s your display name that you need to change, you need to contact support and show them how it has personal information (or breaks TOS). The account name/email is much simpler to change.

Something I’ve read in the Suggestion forum: Account wide bags or account wide bag slots. These bags or bag slots hold items in common across all your characters. Anything in these bags/slots can be accessed by any of your characters that have them. You can put the everlasting harvesting tools in there for example and any of your characters can use them. You can transfer items from one character to another without having to put it in the bank first.
No, it’s gone.
The only way they have to do something like what you ask is through an Account Rollback and that Is only given to hacked accounts,

There are 2 ways you can do a name change.
The first is to buy a name change contract from the gem store. The second is to contact support and self report your name. If they agree the name is offensive you will be given the option to rename. If you self report then there shouldn’t be any repercussions such as a suspension. That doesn’t mean you won’t get a suspension because the agent makes a mistake, but you aren’t supposed to get one.
To contact support, top of page-support then submit a request.

There is a language toggle at game log in. Maybe that was switched and it’s causing this. It’s the flag icons at top right at game login.
There is a bug on some devices that cause the game’s password to fail if you use the device to log onto the forums. For example, I can’t use my iPad with the iOS update 7.0.2 to log onto the forums, I have to use my original iPad with an older iOS. When I use my new iPad, the game’s password is forgotten and I have to reset it.
It seems to be mostly Apple devices that are doing this but there have been a couple of reports from people using other devices also.
The serial code shouldn’t be needed to make a ticket. By going to top of page-support, then top of page-submit a request, you should be able to make a ticket from there. If you don’t know your serial code, try putting in unknown there instead of leaving it blank.

I rather doubt unlinking will do anything. They obviously have your login information if you are getting authenification requests. You might even have a keylogger.
To really stop these requests you should first check your computer security. When you are sure your computer is clean, change your game and email passwords. If you do this it should stop the log in attempts.

What OP said about combat goes for GW1 also (not the skills, but movement while using skills).
I went back this month and for a bit of nostalgia, took my Spirit Lord Ritualist out for a bit of Hard Mode fighting. And it was boring. Your character autoruns up to the target and starts autattacking. Your heroes/mercenaries/henchmen run up with you and start autoattacking also. If you need to move you have to stop combat as you are rooted. It’s very static compared to GW2.
I remember after the first GW2 beta, seeing videos of people strafing while fighting and thinking, How are they doing that? And demonstrating to guild mates what the video showed. “While attacking, you run around in a circle!” (Runs in a small circle to show them). My guild mates are going "Ooohhhh"
It was really a shock going back to GW1. I ran up to a ledge and hit jump. Oh yeah, can’t. When combat started I immediately started strafing, except it was so awkward as all attacks root you and it’s difficult to break the root. No dodging of course. The combat style feels so old school now that for me it’s unplayable.
It used to have magic find stats but they took magic find gear out of the game and made the stats on those items selectable instead. At the same time they made this item account bound on acquire. iirc, all gear that had magic find is now account bound.

If you haven’t done it already you need to run a security sweep first of your computer, being sure to also check for keyloggers. Once your computer is clean you contact support.
Go to top of page-support then top of page-submit a request. Make a ticket from there. Tell them you were hacked and request an Account Rollback.
Good luck.
Maybe lag? You disconnect on your side but not on theirs and then when your computer tries to reconnect you get that error message?
To be sure, why not run a security sweep of your computer?

That does sound somewhat suspicious but usually when they hack you the first thing they do is change your password. If that wasn’t done then I might suspect a glitch of some type The only thing you can do now is get back on and check.
ANet does offer a one time per account rollback if hacked so if the worse happens and your account was hacked you can have it returned to a point close to the hack date.

Are the IPs from Texas? Sometimes the Texas server’s IP will show up on people’s account.
If you ever do get hacked you can submit a ticket and get your account rolled back to a point before the hack.
If I were you OP, I would just delete and start over since your character probably only has a few levels anyway. You might run your character thru your personal story til you get the key for a black lion chest as a reward. You don’t have to level up to do it. I recommend you have a ranged weapon for the last 2 or 3 steps as the mobs can be several levels above you by then.
That event has been broken since the start of the game. I remember when I was still leveling a character back then, being taken by surprise by the endless stream of bomb carrying bandits and getting swarmed and killed when I attempted to clear the event.
This event has been reported as bugged since the start of the game and has had threads discussing it several times already. I have to admit I’m not expecting it to be fixed because of this thread either.

I’m sorry your thread got hijacked. Oak Knob really should have made his own thread with his complaint, not posted on yours.
As to you getting your old display name back, I doubt it. I couldn’t see anything wrong with it and possibly it was changed in error. However because of their accountability policy, once it was changed and most especially since so so much time has gone by, I don’t think there is any chance it will be changed back.
The reasons they don’t allow people to rename their display name is because of accountability. They don’t want people who scam others or people who are blocked because they were offensive/scammers/stalkers to get around blocks by changing the display name.
They have also found that people who make offensive character and display names will commonly do so again when given the option. There have been many threads where Gaile has pointed out to that thread’s OP that they made additional offensive character names after being suspended and forced to change.
Since they know that many people will repeat their errors and because of accountability, they don’t allow people to choose their display name if it’s reported.
Anyone who complains about the gold sinks in video games might want to read up on what happens when gold sinks are inadequate.
An example is Diablo 3 which had hyperinflation due to insufficient gold sinks and bots farming gold.

In this article, one player was quoted saying he had 30 million gold but was too poor to buy better gear. Another player later in game said people might have 2 billion in gold but the value of the gold was dropping so fast that investing in anything ingame was impossible.
(There was a bug involving the auction house on May 7, 2013 which greatly increased inflation but the game already had hyperinflation before then).

1) there are people capable of speaking both English and Spanish. Some of these are on the English servers.
2) when you party up with someone, if they mouse over your party picture they can see your achievement points and your account name.
3) many people look at achieve points when they pug to see how much the person has played and to get an idea how likely the person knows what they are doing.
4) therefore if you ever pugged a dungeon or a fractal, its likely they saw your account name in your party icon picture.
5) kaka means dung or (excrement) in Spanish. (actual word was forum filtered)
6) using this term is against TOS and is sufficient to have your account name changed when reported.

I thought up another question. Are you logging into the forum or the website and then can’t log into the game? There is “device forgets password” bug that comes up if you log onto the forum using an iPhone, iPad, or some of the other computers. It’s not on ANet’s side, it’s a bug on the new iOS on some of these devices and how they store and remember passwords.

No, they wiped all the characters and the server chosen when the game started. Nothing at all was carried over from beta. When you start the game you choose a new server and make a new character.
It doesn’t matter if the account owner ever accessed the account. Thats not a requirement for a hacker. The hacker may be a key logger and was informed when he
bought the game and all the login information. Or your friend kept the same login info from beta and when he bought the game the hacker/key logger was able to get in.
He needs to do a full security sweep of his computer, including checking for key loggers. If he has a keylogger, his email is compromised also. Once his computer is secure he needs to change the password on the email to keep the keylogger out of it.

Just to check, are you trying to login with your Display name (BlackPrince)? The correct login is with email and password, the same as the forum login.
Or you trying to log on using your display name, Mortalik, and not your email? Sometimes people do that by mistake.
If that’s not the problem then you will need to contact support. Top of page-support, then top of page-submit a request. Chose Technical Support.
You might also try running a repair on the files, like you did above with the diagnostic.

He should update his ticket again to let them know it didn’t work. If that also fails, you can post his ticket number here In the thread for tickets 3 days or older for Gaile to look at.
People divorce or two people stop being friends. They then fight over the account and who owns what. Someone gets drunk and trashes the account (it was funny/a good idea at the time). Someone spends gold for the Legendary they always wanted and the other objects. Someone else spends some or all of the accumulated laurels, karma or dungeon tokens on themselves.
Amazingly enough, support doesn’t want to take the time to untangle all this. They feel they have enough to do.
Sooner or later, sharing one account leads to problems. No way around it.
And you just know they’re wanting the new version to be awesome enough that there are minimal complaints from the people who lose the old version. I bet that part is what is taking extra time.
They’ve never said how much you have to do. The reason is, it’s a gradual increase. It’s not “do a certain amount and your account is unlocked”. What you can do if you don’t want to level your second account enough to be completely unlocked, is for your first account to email gold to the second account. Just don’t send more than what that account needs as sending the extra gold back may be a problem. Because of gold sellers, new unleveled accounts have restrictions on them on sending other accounts gold.
Because people would get the daily reward and not notice. Then switch characters, decide they didn’t get the daily, contact support and waste support’s time just to find it is in of their character’s inventory the whole time.
At this point there is no way to change a guild’s name or its tag and I’ve never seen anywhere where they said they were considering this in the future. The only option for people who wish to change is to make a new guild with a new name, which is only good for a new guild or maybe for someone who is representing a personal guild.
Also, you might try posting in the Tech Support forum, as this forum is more for stuff like lost passwords and people who need to talk to Gaile about support tickets already made.
You might also wish to contact support. Top of page-Support, then top of page-submit a request, make a ticket from there.

OMG. My female Asura went in there and now I find out that smirking scum was seeing through her helm and was leering at her ears? Ohhhh, just wait till she tells his krewe what he’s been up to. He’s been hanging around humans too much.
There are two “sort of” freebies this month. If you buy at least 800 gems with real money you will get a green Quaggan backpack sent to you in January. If you buy at least 4000 gems with real money, you will get sent a Mini Mr. Sparkles also. Both of these items are free but require real money spent to be eligible to receive them, like the kites and the mini pets were a few months ago. They are a reward to people spending real money.
There is a thread in the Tech Support forum about game access issues. You might want to look at it. (Login issues after new Build).

Do you carry a shield? Shields are reputed to increase aggro.
There is a stickied thread above (Tickets for Review, 3 days and older) in which you can post your ticket number for consideration.

They’ve never published an actual list of what Support can or cannot do. Probably because what they can do is subject to change. From reading posts I’ve gathered that if the game could be considered at least partially at fault or if it’s something that involves spending gems then there is a good chance they will help. If it’s something that is player error then they do not. In this case it was player error and player error is not something they reverse.

It could also be a problem with your firewall blocking access. Maybe you could turn it off for a few minutes and try logging on.
There is a bug involving iPads and iPhones, where these items cause the game to forget its password if you use them to access the forum or support.

How about an iPad? If you use an iPad with a newer iOS (7.0.2 for sure) to access the forum it can mess up the password.
I put this in the other thread, but since this is a new thread specifically for horizontal profession, I’m reposting.
I think it wouldn’t hurt to bring back the guild wars 1 book system for the DEs.
Each map has a book available for it from an NPC. Inside each book is a list of each DE for that area. People take these books, do DEs and turn the full or partially filled books in for money and karma, maybe laurels, and progress towards a new skin for gear or progress towards a piece of ascended armor. Perhaps an NPC can carry one of each type of armor and weapons. When X number of points/tokens/laurels are reached from turning in books, a player can choose an item from the NPC. The more of the book that is filled in, the better the rewards are.
To keep people from repeatedly doing the starter maps, add a new daily. This daily would be to do X number of events in X level map, such as do X events in a level 60-70 map. Using levels instead of particular maps would help to keep the people from zerging the events and spread them out.
This would allow people to work on filling out the books at their own rate. They can do the maps on the days it is on the daily or do it on their own on other days. If there is a bonus to turning a filled book in on the day of the daily, they can fill it up over time and hold on to it and turn it in when done and on that daily. They can carry multiple copies of one book if they want to repeat events to fill books up.
The book system would have several advantages.
1) pull people out of the starter zones and into higher level maps.
2) get people doing DEs they haven’t done before
3) keep them from farming the same event over and over to fill a book as the book only counts one per book.
4) if they have multiple copies of a book, they can redo events to fill one page of each book they have.
5) the Devs don’t have to rework the rewards of all the events, it can be done with the rewards a filled book gives.
6) if filled books give better rewards, then this would encourage people group up to do the group events that are ignored now.
7) it would give people another way to get ascended gear, by playing the game.
For a complete name switch, you’ll need 3 contracts.
1-change first char to a placeholder name
2-change second char’s name to first one
3-change first char’s name to second’s old name.
For two contracts, but not a complete switch
1-change char one to a name almost the same as char two
…..for example If char two is named Elesh, make char one Eleshi
2-change char two to char ones original name.
In this case, you won’t have a complete switch, but you save the price of one name change contract.
I’m holding on to mine right now, besides necessary purchase like obsidian shards for ascended gear. Like others said, they may come out with a real use for it later and it doesn’t flow in as fast as it used to.
