For my own part, not speaking for anyone else, I’m just tired of seeing “heavy armor” with more skin than metal. That’s all. I think it’s a funny mistake on Anet’s part that they included nipples, and also somewhat bizarre considering their stance on the subject. Did you know that the female Orrian heavy chestplate used to show flesh underneath the claws covering the breasts, rather than a metallic plate? They changed it in Beta Weekend 3 or for release, I forget which. No one even complained about it, but apparently that was too tasteless. Now that they’re making money off of it though, clearly even nudity is fair game. It smacks of a cheap cash grab.
I’m not taking any kind of moral stance. I just think it’s sleazy, from a business perspective and from a content/design standpoint as well. I like nipples, I even have a pair myself. But I really don’t see a particular reason for them to be displayed on my supposedly armored character.
Except this armor has no skin showing at all. There is zero nudity. Granted, it’s skin tight armor but still. As for the alleged nipples. I’ve seen the pictures on the thread and they look like graphic glitches to me. Artifacts of the light hitting a rounded, shiny surface.
There does seem to be a fair amount of ummmm…… excitement, if that the proper word to use here, over the mere possibility of the presence of female nipples. Multiple screenshots with closeups of the “offending” area with discussions whether or not those are nipples showing or graphic glitches. Idk. Maybe it’s cultural. Maybe it’s an age thing. But some people are getting pretty frothed up about it.
Yah, to be more precise, it’s the base part that’s restricted. The spools of thick elonian thread. Those and several others on the same line on the panel are once daily.
Try going to every map. Sometimes people don’t accept a chest for zone completion and the chest for 100% of all maps is stuck behind that. Be sure you go into the Chantry of Secrets a second time. There is a poi deep inside there that doesn’t show on the maps.
I bought the item with in-game money (gold) not real-world currency.
Based on previous threads, gems bought with ingame money are not tracked by account. Only gems bought with real money is tracked. Therefore support has no way to refund the gems you bought with gold.
I’m going to put my vote in for a release of a version without the blue part. I looked at it for my Sylvari Mesmer and really like the non blue part but the blue was a deal breaker. It clashes too much with the color theme of pink and white I have for her as well as hiding her glow. The rest of the armor is lovely though.
It’s very rare to see any Mesmer in game wearing one of those masks. The only one I know of off hand is a guildie who made a character that looks like Ronald MacDonald and uses the smiling mask for that reason.
My bet is it’s like the clockwork tonic. Works for only 5 minutes then has a pointless 30 minute cooldown. Worthless.
(And yes, I’m still irritated about those stupid restrictions on something that could have been really cool. Used the clockwork tonic a couple of times and was so disappointed in it I stuck it in the bank to gather dust).
I previewed it on several of my characters. It looks good on my thin female Sylvari. However on my Female Norn who has a normal body size, it makes her butt look HUGE. Seriously, from the back she looks like she is obese. The way the cloth flairs out in the back is less than flattering. In addition, the curl on the boot toes is outsized on a Norn. To the point where it looks ridiculous.
That’s the reason then. Because of people using transfers to cause problems in WvW, they put in a cooldown period between transfers. However as long as your friend is in the same server region, NA or EU, you or he can guest and play together until you are able to transfer again.
I’ve heard of this happening when someone forgets to accept the reward for map completion of one of the maps. The final chest for 100% is stuck behind this. If this is the problem you will need to go to each zone, including WvW zones, to check if there is an unaccepted reward still.
He needs to do a security scan on his computer. This includes looking for any keyloggers. Once he is sure his computer is clean then he can change the password on his email. Once that is done, if he has the serial number he can change the password and lock them out. If he doesn’t have IP authorization, he needs to set that up.
Once he has his account back and it is secure, with IP authorization to back it up then he can work on getting his one time only account restoration (a rollback of the account to a point before the hack). I’m afraid that he has permanently lost any items in his guild bank. Those are not recoverable using the account restoration.
To all of those arguing against OP’s suggestion, may I point out the Guild Wars 1 cosmetic system did essentially what he suggested.
In Guild Wars 1 if you bought a costume from the cash shop it was then available to all your characters for unlimited use. You spoke to a NPC to get the costume at any time. If you deleted it, nbd. Speak to the NPC again and get another copy.
If Guild Wars 1 could use this system for all the years it had costumes, why not Guild Wars 2?
They turned on FFA PvP in the Beta? I did not know that. Thanks for telling me. However… the game has been updated a lot after that. Even if that code is still there and still works, they’d have to test it. Make sure everything’s working right, all powers and skills are using the right numbers. And it would still create servers different from the others, adding to the stuff they have to debug. The switch makes the problem smaller, but it’s still very much there.
No, they didn’t just “turn on” FFA PvP in the beta. They created “teams” and applied players to those teams (much like the mechanics found in WvW and EotM) on two separate occasions in special instance versions of Plains of Ashford and Metrica Province.
They’ve NEVER had Free-for-All PvP at ANY point, beta or live.
I thought that Southsun Survival activity was Free-For-All PvP. I’ve only done it a couple of times but I don’t remember seeing any allies, at least not until you die and become one of those mists things.
Definitely make a support ticket. From what I’ve read they do replace that item if deleted. If 3 days go by without a resolution then put your ticket number in the sticked thread for tickets 3 days or older in the Accounts Issues forum.
I’d say play with a bit. Same thing happened to me today and I solved it by searching for another Gw2 Setup program on my hard drive and it seemed to work. Hope this helps.

My personal guess is that this situation is fixed and he no longer needs help. Even if he has a slow connection, after a year it’s surely downloaded by now.
I did with my Necro. I had a level 80 Sylvari necro but one day when messing around with the Norn character creation I saw and fell in love with the looks of the Norn Necro facial masks. So I bought another character slot and made a Norn. Leveled her to 80 and that’s the one I play. My Sylvari now does a daily ori/ancient wood run in Frostgorge.
A guildie made 2 Mesmers and has them both to 80. One is for WvW (with PVT gear) and the other she uses for PvE. I’ve heard other people doing something similar. They have more than one of the same profession and each one has a different build and gear.
It’s all in what you want to do and what you enjoy doing.

One thing that can trigger a ban is is getting money from a friend. You said your friend bought money from a gold seller. Did he possibly give you some? If so, since he was guilty then it would make you look guilty also.

They are very strict about account name changes and only allow them in 2 cases, when the real name is used or if it breaks TOS, so be sure and put down the reason why you need it changed.
There have been numerous threads in the forum since beta asking for armor without buttcapes on women and trenchcoats on men. They claim to read the forums so they must be seeing these but each time they release new armor it’s the same old thing. A variation on the class theme they have decided upon. They seem to be very entrenched on their view of what each class should be wearing and unwilling to change no matter how many times they see requests for more variety in styles.
I predict this thread and any succeeding threads will slide off the front page, unacknowledged and without results.
If it’s not a required field then leave it blank. If required you could put in Unknown. Or you could send an email to Support@guildwars2.com explaining the situation.
They were there before those events came about and they will be there when those events are gone. That’s their home. When ANet places an event in a site, they don’t delete any mobs there. They remain and keeping an eye on them is part of combat and situational awareness.
It’s difficult for them to hack you if you have IP authorization set up. Even if they have your email and password the hacker still needs you to authorize access before they can get in. The only people who can get in are people who access your computer at home if you have it set on ‘remember password and email’.
You get one account rollback to recover any items lost from a stolen account, but only from outside hackers. If someone gets into your account from your computer and deletes/sales stuff then you are out of luck. They don’t cover that. So unclick ‘remember password/email’ to cover that situation.
So, have the IP authorization set up. If you get an IP verification request, only ok the ones from your IP. Have an email and password that is unique to this game then have ‘remember email and password’ turned off on your computer. In addition, if you get an email saying it’s from ANet asking you to verify account ownership, don’t touch the link as it’s a phishing email from a thief. If you do all this, your account should be safe.
But seriously, it usually takes then a day to 2 days to resolve an issue and they ask you to let them have 3 days. You have to remember they get thousands of support tickets a day plus someone has to pull up your account and go over what happened, all of which takes time. I hope this is resolved in your favor. It’s because of balance. As said before you have 20 weapons skills with one weapon set. Everyone else has 5 with one weapon set and 10 with swapping. If Ele’s had weapon swapping then they would have 40 weapon skills available to them with everyone else still having 10. So to balance the Ele, they are only allowed one set of weapons at a time.
So yes, you do need to carry around any weapons you aren’t currently using. But every profession has more weapons available to them than they can equip and many people carry extra sets of weapons in their inventory in addition to the ones they have equipped.

Basing it on prime time is meaningless. Because there are players all over the world, prime time is continuous throughout the day. My prime time is many others people’s work time or sleep time and vice versa.
Maybe you are talking about your own personal prime time? In that case you need to tell us what it is and which time zone.

A common mistake is people trying to log on with their Display name (Gio.6894). It’s email and password.
