Support must get hundreds, if not thousands, of tickets and in game reports daily. Each support person undoubtably has a stack to work through each day. I doubt they have the time to dig around and look for information outside the ticket/report parameters. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were forbidden to do that. Most companies put a premium on getting tickets opened then closed as fast as possible. If they do, then the individual who looked at your reported name is not going to take the time to do more than exactly what the ticket calls for, as doing more takes longer and will hurt their average ticket closing time (and hurt the money they get paid as well as getting disciplined for taking too long).
Your best bet is to simply contact support and self report. Get all your names changed and start over.
I remember seeing a thread on gw2guru forum back during beta, where someone had found a child NPC in Fireheart Rise. That person spoke to the NPC and was told he had a friend named Nicholas who had a family tradition of collecting things. The child said he was looking for grawl necklaces for his friend Nicholas.
There was a screenshot of the NPC and the conversation.
I think you’re referring to this thread
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/63986-easter-egg-nick-reference-in-gw2/
Yeah. That was it exactly. :-)
I have high hopes that they will bring this back in some way with a descendant of his carrying on the family tradition. maybe this thread will make them consider it.
Well in all fairness, OP may not be a native English speaker and may be unaware of the meaning of the slang word mofo, or simply didn’t think of it.
I would think that all your names are going to be reported sooner or later OP. Since each report brings a longer and longer suspension you may want to consider renaming all your characters. If you contact support and self report, telling them you were
unaware of the slang term mofo, you can get the option to rename all for free without getting suspended.
Your display name may also be reported and changed by ANet one day. Normally you don’t get a choice of the new display name if they change it. If you self report and ask for a particular one that is consistent with your new character names, maybe they will let you have that one (a small chance, but possible).

FOUR GRAPE JUICES!
If anyone is looking for frames, I believe they are being sold by the Wintersday vendors for 250 ugly socks/hats/sweaters each.
I think it wouldn’t hurt to bring back the guild wars 1 book system for the DEs.
Each map has a book available for it from an NPC. Inside each book is a list of each DE for that area. People take these books, do DEs and turn the full or partially filled books in for money and karma, maybe laurels, and progress towards a new skin for gear or progress towards a piece of ascended armor. Perhaps an NPC can carry one of each type of armor and weapons. When X number of points/tokens/laurels are reached from turning in books, a player can choose an item from the NPC. The more of the book that is filled in, the better the rewards are.
To keep people from repeatedly doing the starter maps, add a new daily. This daily would be to do X number of events in X level map, such as do X events in a level 60-70 map. Using levels instead of particular maps would help to keep the people from zerging the events and spread them out.
This would allow people to work on filling out the books at their own rate. They can do the maps on the days it is on the daily or do it on their own on other days. If there is a bonus to turning a filled book in on the day of the daily, they can fill it up over time and hold on to it and turn it in when done and on that daily. They can carry multiple copies of one book if they want to repeat events to fill books up.
The book system would have several advantages.
1) pull people out of the starter zones and into higher level maps.
2) get people doing DEs they haven’t done before
3) keep them from farming the same event over and over to fill a book as the book only counts one per book.
4) if they have multiple copies of a book, they can redo events to fill one page of each book they have.
5) the Devs don’t have to rework the rewards of all the events, it can be done with the rewards a filled book gives.
6) if filled books give better rewards, then this would encourage people group up to do the group events that are ignored now.
7) it would give people another way to get ascended gear, by playing the game.
Help!! I deleted my main... (Ticket)
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Astral Projections.7320
I’ve deleted characters. You first have to hit the delete button, which opens up a panel. You then have to type in the characters name and then hit accept. If you didn’t go thru these steps then you didn’t delete a character.
If the character is actually gone without you deleting them then one of two possibilities occurs to me. One is that someone else accessed your account and deleted your character. The other is some sort of bug, which is possible but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone report this before. so, it was someone in your home, your account was hacked, or it’s a bug. Its most likely a hacker or someone in your home, rather than a bug.
If it’s a hacker, you need to check the security of your computer and change the password. If it was a family member or ‘friend’, there is nothing support will do about this. You will need to turn off ‘remember password’ or change the password.
If it was a hacker or a bug, you should contact support.

Accidentally Bought PvP Set, Can't Refund
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Astral Projections.7320
From previous posts on related threads, I’m pretty sure that they don’t or can’t refund glory. Apparently the only way they have to do something like that is to roll back the account to a previous date. They only do that to when restoring hacked accounts and its only offered once per account.
I googled and found a thread from back in gw1, 2008, a guy got a suspension for having the character name, X Uranus X,
It’s how it sounds in English that’s important here. How are they to tell the difference from someone actually using the planet name from someone using it to get around TOS?
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Their policy is that account names are changed when they break ToS and when they have personal information on it. When they are changed, the person may not get to choose the new account name. I know they don’t get that option when they break TOS but not sure when it’s personal information.
As to your account name, I guess you could contact support and make the argument that your name breaks TOS since it refers to nude or semi nude male ‘pinups’. If they do change it though, you may not like the new account name.
What I saw when I first looked at the name was a ‘creative spelling’ of an offensive phrase, which is my guess why it was banned.
Swith the n and the a, then sound it out.
Omygosh. OP should have played gw1. The inflation there was crazy and there were tiny, tiny gold sinks. No traveling costs, no trading posts costs (there was no trading post). Once you were set up, there was just small occasional purchases to drain your gold
Your bank could hold 100,000 gold and your characters could hold 10,000 gold. I had
my bank maxed at 100,000 and a number of characters holding 10,000 each. A friend and I were farming items that sold for about 18,000 to 20,000 gold each (10,000 gold and then X number of ectos to make the rest). I remember selling an axe with good stats for about 5,000 gold. I was buying fluff items, like eternal tonics, for 10,000 to 50,000 gold or more eachAnyone who complains about gold sinks needs to play in a game that doesn’t have enough of them. It’s an interesting, eye opening experience.
I agree with the basis of what you’re saying, I just want to add one important note on the numbers:
There was no copper or silver in GW1. 1 gold was the smallest possible unit of currency, about equal to 1 copper in GW2. (It’s quite common to get 10g off the first enemy you
kill for example.)100,000 gold is still a lot of money, but not as much as it might seem if you’re used to the way GW2 does it.
Yeah, it’s hard to compare any two games moneywise. But it was easy to hit the limits your bank and have to start storing money on alts. Without real gold sinks, there was no real way to drain the excess gold. People had so much money they had to resort to barter because the prices were higher than the amounts the game allowed for trades.

Edit: and I wasn’t even one of the rich people. There were people who were selling vanity items for millions of gold, and selling them. For example, the mini polar bear was selling for about 1,300 ectos. Iirc, ectos were priced about 8,500 gold each. This means one mini was selling for about 11,000,000 gold.

Log-In Issues (specifically Error 11) - [merged]

This game forgets password’ bug does in part seem to be linked to the iPad with the IOS 7.0.2.
I normally access the forum on my new iPad and about 5 weeks ago, after I updated my iPad to the new iOS, the game started occasionally forgetting the password. I did a repair and it stopped for about a month then it came back and the game was forgetting the password every day. Repaired the game, didn’t work. I switched to an old iPad I have with an old iOS and used it to access the forum and the problem stopped. After 6 days I forgot and accessed the forum with my new iPad and the game promptly forgot the password again.
Unfortunately, turning off the ‘remember password’ on the iPad doesn’t seem to stop the bug.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Afaik, there is no way to get items back if you’ve deleted them. The previous responses I’ve seen said that they consider typing the character name in the delete screen sufficient confirmation that you will lose everything on that character.
Response from support from someone who did the same thing and who sent in a ticket.
“While we understand your position, as a general rule we are not able to replace items left on deleted characters, and that is true in the case of the items you have requested”.
How about…. Baleroc Rageflame
That’s a good charr name right there.
Do you have a Mac? There have been known issues with them. If so, read this thread. And look over this thread.
Did you try to use the arrow thing at the very end, probably on the right hand side, to bring it into view?
The screen only holds a certain number of character slots at one time. The arrow things at both end bring the extras into view.
You then might have to wait for the event, Help the ogres remove the Branded from their land.
When I got my whistles, I did this event first then ended up at Gladefall with Gortho. After a pause the next event started and he became a merchant selling whistles.
Wiki, unfortunately, doesn’t seem to have this set of events fully documented. You might have to hang around by him till he leaves Gladefall to start the first stage of the events.
Contact support. After verifying you are the account holder they will send you a reset password link. You won’t need a character name for that.
Top of page-support, then top of page-submit a request.
Error code 42 is related to connectivity. They recomend waiting a bit and trying again after a few minutes.
Most typically, I buy Fine salvage kits. At least one of the cultural weapons sellers in the Black Citadel sells them and 3 Fine salvage kits will fulfill the daily.
Otherwise, orichalcum level harvesting tools. The axes and sickles can be bought in th Cursed Shore and the picks are sold by an event merchant in Southsun. I haven’t bought any harvesting tools with anything but karma since I found these.
The ascended weapons and armor are too costly in time, laurels and money as well as too restrictive for builds and alts for the value, the small stat advantage, you get from them.To make them worthwhile and so that a patch doesn’t trash a whole build worth months of work, make the stats selectable on all ascended items. Otherwise it will be too painful when particular builds are nerfed.
The way ascended gear is set up now it discouragers creativity and experimentation and encourages ‘cookie cutter’ builds. It encourages staying with what is safe and known. I can’t imagine that the Devs are trying to set up a game that discourages innovation and encourages conformity, but this is exactly the game they are setting up now with ascended gear.
I’ve personally decided not to do ascended armor, even though I have sufficient gold to do so. It would be too disheartening to have to discard a set of armor that takes so long and costs so much because of circumstances beyond my control.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
There also appears to be a problem with using iPads with the last IOS update to access the forum or other parts of gw2. If you use the iPad, somehow it causes the game to forget the password. Something is wrong with the iPad software, the part where it remembers passwords, and this causes the game to forget your password when you log on the forum using the iPad.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
I can think of a way, but it’s not particularly efficient.
It costs 10 copper per crafting level to switch. If you ask each crafting NPC, it will tell you the total cost. So if you ask one and it tells you its 40 silver then you know that particular one is level 400. Ask each one and write it down.
48 hours is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy to long besides it should at the very least lock me from rated pvp not all pvp. anet say something! tell me that you honestly think this is fair.
Gaile may give you an answer, but its about 2AM for her right now. I suggest you come back in about 10 to 12 hours.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
To revive an old thread, a similar thing just happened to me.
After coming back from a break from gw2, I had forgotten about not being able to wear the same ascended ring. That you need one with offense slot and one with a defensive one for example.
I bought a 2nd accessory (earring) for a char that is exactly the same as the first. When I tried to equip it, obviously it didn’t let me and I realize I wasted a lot of resources. The obvious save is to use it on my alt.
The problem is, when I logged in my alt to use the earring, it says that it is soulbound
to another char! My first character was never able to actually equip the earring but the
act of trying to do so made it soulbound to him. Now that has to be unintentional
therefore a bug!
This thread is 8 months old and not all the information in it is current and relevant.
It’s my understanding that support will work with you on this. You will need to contact them by the Support tab at the top of the page then by Submit a Request, also at the top. Make a ticket from there. They have sent people a trinket with the opposite offensive or defensive slots to replace the unusable one.
I can't enter the kessex hills instance
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Astral Projections.7320
Yes, go to the camp and speak to Marjory. She will have a option to redo the instance.
Try reading this thread here and see if the solution in it works for you.
Try going one last time into the Chantry of Secrets. There is a well known issue where paople have to go in there after area completion. There is also a poi in there way in the back that is occasionally missed.
If that doesn’t work, I recommend you waypoint to every zone and city one last time and check the map while in that area. Sometimes the maps don’t show accurately
unless you are actually in there and one of the new pois, such as the 2 new ones in Kessex, won’t show up.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
The only thing you can do at this time, if you haven’t already, is to make sure your computer is clean by running a security sweep and also checking for keyloggers.
Ow. Annoying.
Try updating your ticket with that statement, DONT SEND ME A PASSWORD LINK! And tell them it’s the game forgets password bug.
Unfortunately, I don’t think they know how to fix it yet. Are you using an iPad or tablet of some sort to access the forum? Supposedly there is a bug connected with the iPad IOS that’s doing something. However I didn’t use my iPad for a day, and it still forgot the password that day, and took out the iPad “remember password” feature and it’s still happening.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Ok, it sounds like you are entering your in password correctly but it’s always best to ask.
You are typing in the email and password? Sometimes people try to log on using account name (DrMinx) and password and this makes it fail.
For a second point, don’t send multiple emails. That doesn’t help you. All they do is close them out and it slows them down. Close out all your emails except the first one and update that one whenever you need to say something to them.
Assuming you are typing in the email and password, it sounds like you have the ‘game forgets password’ bug. I have this bug also and it’s very annoying. I had to make a new password twice yesterday and again today just to answer you.
As for them sending you a password reset, that’s part of you sending in multiple emails. From my experience, they send this to you as a first response or something. On your first email, after closing out the others, tell them you have this bug, the game forgets password bug, and type after that, Don’t send me a change password link! (Or words to that effect). Maybe that will stop them from doing it again.
There was a thread about it which you can read about here , but it ended without a answer. You might want to post on that thread if you have that problem.
your not getting me, its part of your creation, im an engineer, engineers have the option of getting a backpack, the backpack is unequipable I believe. I did not chose said backpack and I would like to, thus the question at hand.
The makeover pack only has the option to change the characters physical appearance.
If there is starter items you want you can make a new character with the item you want then use a transmutation stone, the yellow one, to transmute to a low level item. You should be able to transmute it to a low level backpiece or a white blackstrap that is part of a gem store backpiece. The item may still say soulbound after transmuting but should actually be account bound. Once it’s account bound the character you want it on can pick it up out of your bank, transmutate it again and use it.
A guild mate used transmutation to change a soulbound Mad Memories from one character to another.

Contact support for this. They have sent replacement trinkets to people who have made this type of mistake. Top of page-support, top of page-send a request.
Norn are just giant dwarves imo. Although, it just isn’t the same…
Female dwarves reputably have beards also. This would rule out Norn as giant dwarves.
They haven’t decided yet. From what I’ve read they plan to do expansion type content as part of the Living Story. Soooo, whenever. Maybe.
I see. I’m not planning to do a Legendary and don’t know the details. However, I doubt support will give a refund.
Just to check, you are using email and password? Sometimes people try to use display name (Requiem in your case). The login in the forum and the game are identical.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Maybe that’s it. He bought runestones, couldn’t send them and so sent cash and now wants a refund for the runestones he bought.
If that’s it, again no chance of a refund. Either sell them to get some or all of the cash back or keep them in case you want to do a Legendary yourself.
Hmmm not sure what you are asking for a refund from. You sent cash to a friend and you want your friend to refund it or support to do so? It’s not very clear to me what you are asking.
If you sent cash to your friend to help him out and now want it back, there is no chance that support will send it to you or make your friend give back the money you sent him as a gift.
If you can’t get your rewards ingame, log into Guild Wars 1, speak to Kimmes. Switch between individual and account rewards. Then log back into Guild Wars 2 and speak to Kimmes again. That should allow you to get your rewards.
If you are only playing for loot, try one of the single player games. For example, I used to play Morrowind and I had had a room full of top end, pricy armor and weapons that I stopped bothering to vendor. I had books, potions, mats and lock picks piled high. I had stacks of gold sitting on the floor once the gold in my inventory got to ridiculous levels. I had wayyyy more gold and loot piled up that I had any possible use for.
You can do that in single player games though. So what if I had millions in gold and piles of loot. In an mmorpg, the other players have to be factored in. If everyone makes incredible loot, then in no time at all that incredible loot is average. People will be posting on the forum, “what the heck ANet! I do the (whatever) and my reward was only 10 exotics!”
What would happen to the economy if everyone’s loot was incredible?
Yeah, there are a couple of them. I know of one behind the LA bank. I think they are a Devs signature of some sort.
So… so…
Do you ladies wanna see some norn/human chests possibly some kilts ;D LOL
Or the grenth hood (I dont think there’s anything close to an executioner hoodie…) + full commando is good?:P Only armor I can complain about is medium (male) trench-coats…
Oh actually, I think this might be relevant (imgur):
http://imgur.com/MMdocdc(the issue this post is bringing up is a bit deeper and is on a larger scale (not just this game)…) :P
(took the curtsy of uploading the picture, for those that don’t like clicking on links….)
I was offended by the nips on the male figure. They need to be blacked out. (Hands you a sharpie).
You think that this is some kind of joke?
Those shoulder spikes!
“I’m home honey, here let me hug you.”
(Gives the wife a hug)
Ooooh eeereee errrrggggggg gllllgllkklllllll.
Oops.
The issue isn’t so much the armor itself, but the rating of the game and the armor’s place in that said rating.
As in, that armor could sear the eyeballs of some poor innocent chile and forever scar their psyche?
I guess it could happen. Can’t let them chilluns be harmed you know with a underboob flashing them.
Type /age into chat while on the character you think should get a birthday present to make sure it’s 365 days or more old. Birthdays are for characters, not accounts. If you made characters then deleted them it will take longer.
If it is, try clearing out your mailbox. If you have 10 or more emails It will be behind them, there but invisible.
If that doesn’t work then contact support. Top of page-support, then top of page-submit a request, and make out a ticket.
