Go to the gear icon in your inventory at top right. You can select rarity there. Items will show a blue, green, orange, or purple border if they are one of those rarities.

I was having password problems a few weeks ago. Support told me to delete the dat file and run a repair.

From their email:
I would like for you to try repairing your Guild Wars 2 installation:

First,

Hold down the Windows button on the keyboard and hit the “R” key.
Paste in the following line: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2
Click “OK.”
Delete the local.dat file located here.
Next,

Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.
Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”
Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Repair.”
Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”
Edit the “Target” line to include -repair at the end. Note: Please make sure -repair is outside of the quotes -- Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” -repair -- Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe -repair”
Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes. If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try Step 5 again.
Right-click “Guild Wars 2 Repair” and select “Run as Administrator.”
Allow the repair to run and once completed, right-click" “GW2.exe” or your Guild Wars 2 Shortcut and select “Run as Administrator.”

Once completed, please try starting Guild Wars 2 again. Please let us know the results of this test at your earliest convenience.

Ah, I do remember that thread and their issue. I didn’t realize that it was a Heroic Chest this thread’s OP received and that is likely related to the situation of the TC in your linked thread. As this OP had only mentioned a “hero item and some tome of influence”, I wasn’t sure exactly which items those were as I have seen several types of items as being among those included in these ‘apology’ mails. Due to this I did not associate it with the Heroic Chest issue that your link has shown as happening before.

Well, he said hero item. That was the only thing I could think of and his account of what happened and what he got was sort of vague. Unless there is some other hero item from the gem store?

I’ve seen cases in the past where a suspension was given in error and those items were mailed to the account in-game mail as a sort apology for the error/unjustified suspension. I think it should have had a note with it though, not just items.

I don’t know about that. However, if he had been actually suspended, he would have gotten the black screen with the suspension notice and would have had to contact Support to have it lifted early if it was in error.

It wouldn’t have been a matter of minutes, no notification, and items sent to him without any sort of message.

It’s someone trying to steal your account. Delete it

If you gave them any information at all, you should contact support, run a security scan on your computer and change your password. You might go ahead and run a security scan just in case even if you didn’t since you clicked on that link. And after that, change your password.

To make sure I understand what you are doing.

The proper log in is, email and password. It’s not Display name (Visconte.6094) and password.

So, you are using email correct?

Did you ever check your spam or junk folders?

Also, some emails are not accepting ANet’s emails to you. If you can’t find them since it’s been so long, you might update that ticket, then give them a day and check your spam and junk folders to see if it’s there. Possibly you can put the new email in the updated ticket. Tell them you are not getting their email on the old email and have them send to the new email.

Sounds like some sort of glitch or bug, if you had actually been suspended you would have gotten a black screen after the login screen saying, Your account has been suspended for X hours for (reasons X, Y, or Z), and you wouldn’t be able to get back in the game.

You can report it by making a ticket. Top of page then top right of page, submit a request.

Once you have transferred a 7 day lockout to another transfer starts. Even if you delete your characters again, it’s still in place.

Since you haven’t transferred yet, you can delete and transfer and he can guest as long as it’s within the same server group (NA or EU) but then he will lose all progress when he deletes when the lockout ends unless he pays for gems to transfer at this time.

No, you can not. Only armors from within classes can be transmuted to each other.

You undoubtably have the low level, yellow T stones. If you want to check, try to merge two pieces of 79 or lower level mixed armor classes together.

No, the ascended mats can only be refined to bricks, ingots, etc.

Imo, changing them to account bound is possible but extremely unlikely. They made ascended gear so the people who who like progression in stats will have a long grind. It’s a form of endgame for a certain type of player and it keeps these people busy and logging on each day. They are undoubtably assuming people will be gearing up multiple characters or multiple sets of stats on one character. To make these account bound will make the grind shorter, which is not what they want.

I rarely salvage less than 10 at a time as it’s too common to salvage a couple and get nothing. You need to salvage a minimum of 10 to come close to the the average of 0.9.

Save them up till you get at least 10, and preferably 20, before salvaging.

This also isn’t a bug but rather a suggestion. Wrong forum and not read by the staff people who take notes of suggestions.

This aspect of the guild has been in the wiki for quite some time, but you would have to think to look it up to know. It’s not exactly intuitive. The problem seems to be that the guilds are attached to servers, not accounts, so they don’t transfer when you do.

If there is someone you know and trust in the old server, you could make them a guild member and they could take the items out of the bank and mail them to you.

As to lost influence, maybe the same person can access the upgrades such as guild banners. They could get these going and at a time agreed upon, set up the banners. You could guest to that server and get the guild bonus off the banner then go back. This way, you could use up the influence until it’s gone. Of course, the tricky part is finding someone honest and dependable. But it’s one possible workaround for a bad situation.

You might look into whether or not the guild bounties can still be done if you guest to that server, if you have these already unlocked.

Maybe doing something like this will allow you to drain the influence off your old guild while building up influence in your new one.

My Mesmer has standard, crafted level 80 armor which I’ve never replaced on her cuz I happen to think she looks really good in it. Now, if I’m standing by someone who is wearing the newest gem store armor and I’m looking at them and thinking “That’s sooo ugly!” and their looking at me and thinking, “Crafted. That’s sooo lame!” Which one of us is winning?

And it may be even better looking than the one you got. ^^

If you delete your characters, the transfer is free. There is a 7 day wait if you want to transfer a second time.

Be sure and remove all items that you want to keep and put them in hour bank. If you already have a guild, such as a personal guild bank, the items in it will not transfer with you. If you have a personal guild bank, you should remove all items and put them in your regular bank.

It’s not unusual for them to have several new builds after an update. They are always a few bugs that come up and need to be corrected.

I don’t think you have a chance of getting a refund myself as, technically speaking, it’s not the same armor since it has the flame update. However, personally I think it was a shoddy move for ANet to put exclusive, very expensive, armor that was specifically labeled as cultural armor that only that race could wear, in the gem store at a discounted price for all races to wear. Flame update on the armor or not, it’s really still the same armor. A different paint job doesn’t make it a non cultural armor. These cultural armors were transmutable onto other races at launch. ANet removed that option because it was unintended. They said cultural armor was designed to be exclusive to that race and to create more diversity among the races. So they rolled them back, removing them from the game. Now they are selling one of them in the cash shop.

It will be interesting to see how ANet handles this.

The problem is there isn’t any way for a company to move fast enough to stop someone from stripping your account. They must get hundreds, if not thousands, of tickets and ticket updates a day. Those go to different groups of people but each person will have a stack of tickets that they are to work on. Yours will go to the bottom of the stack as it’s normally a first come first served situation. They have to work thru all the tickets to get to yours. Any ticket update you send will also go wherever your ticket is in the stack.

Sorry, it’s just not reasonable to expect your ticket and situation will get preferential treatment over anyone else’s.

I thought we were going to get a story about Asurans. They get an idea that doesn’t work out the way they thought. It could have had cut scenes where it showed the idea going wrong, the place starting to come apart, people starting to panic. And either is all comes apart or they are forced to explode the building to fend off something even worse. Either dying because of their hubris or dying nobly to save everyone else.

They aren’t being ignored.

ANet bans bots in waves so there will be periods of time when they aren’t getting banned even though they are being reported. The reason why is, if they banned them individually, the botters could use this information to figure out what triggered the ban and learn to get around it.

Pretty much, use focus. And make your Mesmer be an Asuran. At least it looks like they are running faster.

If it were me, I’d take out all the speed signets and speed boosts from weapons and give a flat 25% speed boost to all professions. Almost everyone uses either the signet or the weapon for the speed boost and it narrows the use of interesting utility skills and causes people to equip that one weapon just for that.

As Yargesh said, if you delete your characters you can transfer for free. There is then a 7 day cooldown in which you can’t transfer again.

The reason for the 7 day period is because of WvW (world vs world), the big PvP/PvE map. People were abusing free, no cooldown transfers at the start of the game to spy on enemy servers. Because of complaints about this, they put in the cooldown period (each matchup lasts one week so by the time a player can play in WvW again, the matchup is over).

If you friend somebody and they are online, when you are in character select and look at all the servers, it will show you which friends are online and which server they are on.

If you are playing, you can be informed when he logs on. Friend him then go to chat options (top of each chat section such as map chat). Enable game messages. In addition to telling you stuff you don’t care about, when he logs in it will say on that chat, display name.1234 is online, where display name.1234 is his name like sirjosh.9561 is yours.

Idk, you could have parked them all at a JP for a daily chest each. You can get exotics and rares well as the regular drops. You could have parked them in Frostgorge by an ori or ancient wood node for a quick harvest or done a run of each to get all 4 nodes. You could have just let the account sit and used it all for storage. It’s possible you could have parked each one by a guild puzzle chest to open daily, but not sure about this one. (When your inventory is full you go to WvW, visit a crafting table and unload or sell everything and log back out. Next time you log back in, you are standing by the node/chest. Or you email everything to your main account).

Imo, deletion of level 80s is the last thing you should have done.

They can “force” the Injection Meter to move by keeping it in the daily achievement. There are enough people who do the achieves to slowly move the meter over time.

This is something I’ve seen occasionally, but not recently. Yours is the only post I’ve seen lately about this so it’s not a wide spread problem unless you are the first one to post.

Maybe it’s just taking time for ANet to get the money, even though it cleared on your side.

Sometimes there is a delay in the email system. Sometimes the persons email is filled up.

Try deleting emails and see if the gems show then.

Ok, did you try deleting your emails? If you have 10 or more that can cause a problem.

The game needs a way to separate friendly particle effect from enemy particle effect and have a way to turn off the friendly one as it’s the one causing all the problem. I need to see enemy effects, such as red rings. Truthfully, I have no real use for friendly fields in this game as the combo effects aren’t that important and we are usually stacked on the boss anyway. Any combo field will get dropped at my feet whether I see them or not.

It’s so bad in some fights, I can tell if I’m standing in front or behind the boss. I can’t even see the boss at all, much less any tells I’m supposed to be watching for.

Since there isn’t a close match for what you wish to report, it may be best to contact support and fill out a ticket explaining who, when and what.

To do that, top of page-support tab, then top right of page-submit a request.
