Alright, thanks.
While I was looking through the internet for the possible causes and similar cases, I read that some people claimed to have their accounts permanently banned without the option to appeal the it. That was what worried me the most.
Even if you can’t log into the forum you can still contact support by using the support tab at the top of the page and making a ticket.
Hello. My name is Astral Projections and I’m a Guild Wars 2 addict.
(Large crowd of people) HI ASTRAL!
Types these codes into chat to preview.
Toxic Glove Skin: [&AgGHvwAA]
Toxic Mantle Skin: [&AgGAvwAA
There is a ‘game forgets password bug’. Refer to this thread about error 11 .
I’ve contacted support. They told me to delete the dat file and run a repair. I put the post in that thread. It didn’t work for another person with that problem but you can try it. If it fails, try updating your ticket and maybe put in a reference to that thread so they know what you are talking about.
By the way, do you have your serial code? If you do you can change your password without contacting support, which is much faster. A few minutes rather than a day or two.

when trade between 2 legit accounts he just could send it with mail – for free
Well there is an auto-ban system for gold trading in mail, but I agree there are cheaper and more sleuthy ways of circumventing it – just trade gold in a private guild bank.
That won’t necessarily work. A friend loaned me 175 gold to get the Golden title several months ago. She put it in our guild bank, I took it out and was later banned for gold buying. (It was reversed after I contacted support).
I’ve used one so far, when they had a sale on character slots I figured I could always use it as a mule and have the (ever decreasing) hope of an expansion. Made the new character level 20 and parked it at a JP for a daily chest farm. The rest of the scrolls are in storage, gathering dust.
The golem event drops as much as a dragon event and can be done with a small group of people as it scales. It also has a fast timer so it repeats frequently during the day and you can use alts to get the main chest. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Defeat_the_Inquest's_golem_Mark_II
Shatterer of course has dragonite. The smaller events such as the Jungle Wurm, the Shadow Behemoth and the Maw also have a few in their chests.
iirc, back when the game first started, people asked about this and the answer was to use an invisible bag.
It’s just basic marketing to bring buyers in. It’s not different from a coupon you get where you get X amount of money off if you buy product Y. Its a coupon worded differently than what you usually see because you have to log into a game rather than go to a store.
The requirements are ridiculous. To get this event now you can’t be some casual player who joins in when it starts, you have to be a member of a guild that does this event as it’s reason for existing (and those who are already in 5 guilds can’t unless they drop one). You then have to guest to the right server. You have to get there way ahead of time as the spawn window is so long, which means you will be in that area for one to two hours instead of playing where you want. You have to be able to get into the overflow that your guild is getting into. And then you better have enough people, at least 80 people, and no one getting on the turrets and trolling by refusing to use it.
Would that be an effective way for someone to buy gold from a gold seller? The buyer of gold to post and the gold seller to buy? There is the fees of course but it would get around the banning problem. As long as each gold seller has one certain item it only buys and as long as this item isn’t noticed by random players who then try to sell that item at that price it might work.
The gold buyer sells 4 of one item to the gold seller get 3996 gold minus the fees and also sells one additional item valued at (I guess about) 700 gold to cover the fees. The items sold would change from one buyer to the next to keep other players from also listing. As long as the gold seller buys promptly, this should be fairly low risk.

ANet had a dream before launch and in its dream it saw an army of players, the men all wearing trenchcoats and the women all with buttcapes. ANet saw this and sayeth, “Behold! All the naughty parts are decently obscured and this is good.” Then ANet sayeth to its designers, “Go out and design trenchcoats and buttcapes and I shall give unto you a bonus for each one you designeth that looks like all the other trenchcoats and buttcapes so that all the players who cometh to the game shall look the same and none shall be different”.
Then labored the designers long and hard over many months Many trenchcoats and buttcapes were made yet all looked alike unto each other so that none stood out as different. All were slightly different so they could be claimed as many, yet none could truly be told from the other. And ANet saw the multitudes of players thus adorned in their trenchcoats and buttcapes and smiled.

If they were going to make it one guaranteed scrap per chest then why should they bother with the scraps being in chests at all? Why not one weapon skin for $15 USD and you buy it directly? The reason why, imo, is that they believe that people like the system as it is now. And since people are buying these keys in sufficient numbers to make ANet happy, then they are right and have no reason to change.
If people weren’t buying the keys, they would have dropped it a long time ago.
That’s not really a good argument. People HAVE to buy the keys to get the skins because there is no other way.
What I am saying is, I think the number of people buying keys the way they are set up with random chance exceeds the money that they would get by selling the weapon skins directly or by selling one scrap per chest guaranteed. They are selling these to make money and they are selling them in the manner that they calculate will bring in the most money. If they could make more money by selling by selling directly then they would. If they could make more money by selling a guaranteed one scrap per chest then they would. Since they sell the scraps with a random chance that must be the best money maker and it’s not going to change unless people stop buying the keys.
When they set up this system, they would have studied all the cash shops from the different MMOs. They would have seen which methods pulled in the most money and chosen those methods. Since they chose the random chance method for the weapon skins then that is the one that is the most profitable for MMO cash shops.

Could always change races multiple times then. The Norn who became a Charr who became a Sylvari who became an Asura who refused to become a human because humans are bookahs and Asuras are the best. It would tangle up the story line a bit, but oh well.

You probably were hacked. If you were then you can get an account restoration which will rollback the account to a date before the hack.
Before you do anything, you need to make sure your computer is secure. Check for keyloggers and then you might want to change your email password and then your game password.

I’m assuming there is no way for you to contact him out of game?
I would first lock him out of the guild bank, sending him an email saying why just in case. If he doesn’t respond and you see him on, then report the account like you would any account you you see that looks like it’s being botted. After that, support can decide if he is or not. Be aware that they ban bots in waves and it may be awhile before they take action.
As far as I’ve seen as an explanation on the forum before, the nodes move for one reason, the map was empty. The map is emptied when no one is in there and whenever they have an update. When the map is empty it ‘disappears’ and when it reappears when someone then enters the map, the nodes reset.
Malchor’s leap might be the only one that empties out occasionally and that also has a node tracker kept on it. The only practical way to test this theory would be to track nodes on a low population server and a low use map and see if this happens.
On Desolation the only map (out of all the maps with a daily chest event) I see this happening frequently is Mount Maelstrom. The fastest I’ve seen was something like I do the golem event, grab a few platinum, switch to another character for a different event then go back to Mount Maelstrom and it has already changed.
It is very easy to notice the node movement right now because of the toxic seedling patches but it was always easy tell in Mount Maelstrom.
Maybe it was Mount Maelstrom that I keep reading about the nodes moving, not Malchor’s. That map might be far enough off the beaten path to occasionally empty out, even if it’s only for a few seconds.
I see the nodes on frost gorge changing all the time, and that map is never empty with the champ trains running. The nodes also change all the time on queensdale as well.
I do Frostgorge runs for ori and ancient wood every day and the only times I see the nodes change there is after an update. I have alts parked at a node at the end of each days run and when I log back on the next day, they are still beside the node. None of the ones on the map have moved.
Funny, the ones on my server change all the time. Sometimes they are right next to one of the champs, then across the map by where jormag spawns. Never seem to be in the same spot twice.
What server are you on? Could it be one that is low population and that map empties out sometime during the off hours?
Fort Aspenwood.
Hmmm idk. That one is listed very high.
All I know is that I never see the FG ori/ancient wood nodes change sites unless there is an update of some kind. Once I find them, I make my route and I don’t have to look again until the next update, no matter how long it is.
Edit: I use this source here and as of the time this comment was posted, the nodes on the maps I’ve seen haven’t changed sites since the last update. http://gw2nodes.com/index.php

Ok I tried this and it did not work, sadly. Thanks Astral for the PM about it.
Password is back to resetting every hour again now.
Yah. Wasn’t real hopefully about it. You might try updating your ticket saying you tried this and see if they can suggest something else.

Bumped to bring back to page one.
Did you check the spam and junk folders? There is a problem with some email sites not handling email from Guild Wars 2 properly. Check this thread here about email problems to see if that’s it.

The suspension should not be for 3 days for a first naming offense. The first offense should only be a forced rename and then you can log back in.
If you have never gotten a forced rename in the past and you have gotten a 72 hour suspension with the first one then they have made a mistake. I recommend you contact them to discuss it to let them know they are in error.
It feels like you are addicted?
I suggest you contact support (or maybe a mental health professional) if you ever get the urge to snort the game off the computer screen or mainline the game thru the power cord.
They can’t just autoban based on someone’s report. ^^ Each report of a hack, gold seller, bug, abusive language, name that breaks TOS or whatever else people decide to report, like the guy that salvaged one ecto and contacted support trying to get a refund, all go to people who are working in support. No doubt these reports go into separate piles but there are a lot of them continuously streaming in. Each one requires someone to investigate and respond and the more difficult one can take hours to resolve. It just takes time to get to any one report.
If you’ve sent them a request for an account rollback and haven’t heard from them in 2 days, be sure and check all your email folders. The emails can be sent off to the spam and junk folders and in some cases where people have checked ‘not spam’ when they find it in a spam folder, they never get the emails any more at all.
If you’ve checked all folders and it’s been 3 days or more since you’ve heard from them, post on the 3 days or older thread here for Gaile to look at.
If it’s only been 2 days, wait an additional day to post.

To me it sounds like your playing one till it bores/irritates you. Your best bet is to have several professions then and switch between them. If you switch frequently you won’t have time to get bored by it, by the time you get back to any one of them they will feel fresh again. I have one of each profession and switch frequently so I don’t get bored using the same skills over and over and over again.
Just my two cents.
Yeah. Looking over the Guild Wars 1 skill bars is an exercise in nostalgia. You could spec yourself for life steal and do tremendous amount of damage. And then there were the other hexes and curses that made this profession so interesting.
On the other hand, going back to play, it seems so clunky and awkward now it’s hard for me to stay logged on for more than a few minutes.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
The Guild Wars 1 skill, Aura of the Lich allowed you to conjure minions from thin air.
At level 18 Death magic, if you had a monk to provide healing, you could conjure up and hold up to 11 minions, no corpses needed.the first picture is of 11 minions, conjured out of thin air. The second is the Necromancer skill bar. The bottom right icon has the number 11 on it. That number shows how many minions the Necromancer is holding at that moment.
Sorry for the blurriness. Took the pictures with my iPad.

Yeah I actually got sent a manual and auto reset password four times before they actually read the ticket. And then had zero movement on it for nearly two weeks after they said they were accelerating it, until Gaile stepped in to help.
This is more an issue of my privacy now. I’m quite worried.
I’ve had to contact support a few times and so far my experience has shown they send you a password reset as the first official answer regardless of what the problem is. After the second time I contacted them back in Guild Wars 1 days, I specifically said first off, DONT RESET MY PASSWORD the 3rd time I contacted them but they did anyway so I wasn’t astonished when they did it this time also.
As to the privacy concerns you express, I doubt it. It’s just an annoying bug that’s ‘hitting some accounts. There isn’t any reason to think ANet has been hacked. If they were, they would be stealing your account and the items in it, not resetting your password but otherwise doing nothing.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Do they have a slot for them in the PvP locker? If they don’t then they must have forgotten and the best thing might be to report it in as a bug, ingame with a screenshot.
I hadn’t considered Smooth Penguin’s version of events because I’m so desperate for Dark Matter that I don’t sell any exotics now, but he’s right. People need to craft large numbers of exotics for level 500 crafting and if you don’t need Dark Matter then it’s better to sell for 2 gold and recoup the costs as much as possible. When you combine this with people who sell without considering the cost of crafting, it keeps the prices artificially low.
What value does someone have in selling a bunch of items several gold below cost? What do they gain from it? You haven’t suggested how this could possibly benefit a person.
My feeling is, these are being made by people who aren’t considering how much it costs to make an item. Many people feel that the mats they gather have no worth. They think those mats are free and they don’t count the costs when they use them to make an item. If they make a weapon that has ‘no value’ because they made it from mats they gathered then if they sell it for 2 gold, they think they have made 2 gold profit.
I think this is a more likely explanation that people deliberately selling items below cost just to keep the price of the item below cost.
What I see when I look at the graph over time is it hovering consistently about 1.5 to 2 gold, except for the occasional spikes. When the spikes are over it returns to the low base price. The price fluctuations seem to gave been more extreme for that one for some reason, but the price of around 2 gold has been the average price for a while.
If you look at the graph for that one, there was a sudden spike but then it returned to its previous value. http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/46269
The one day graph shows the spike and the return to regular value closer.
While that one is fluctuating a lot, all the assassin pearl types are in the same price range, about 2 gold or so, and all are underpriced. http://www.gw2spidy.com/search/Assassin%27s%20pearl?recipes=
there is a sudden 7 gold price drop on this item. and the item is 5 gold below the cost of what it costs to make. there is something not right about this particular incident.
Which item?
It’s hard for people to comment specifically without knowing which one you are referring to.
You’re right, there is no reasonable explanation for one person to make multiples of one and then sell them for several gold less than cost. It is reasonable for many people, maybe hundreds of people, to be making these for exp and some of them to be selling them on the TP.
There was a long thread recently where numerous people said that if they gathered the mats, then those mats had no value, no opportunity costs, and using them when you make gear made it for free. That sort of thinking will cause people to underprice the value of the items they make and sell. Those people who decided to sell probably weren’t considering the costs of making them, just like the people in that thread.

Are you sure that was the final chest?
Reward
Upon completing the last map required for world completion, a world completion icon will pop up next to the loot icon. In addition to the regular rewards for the last map, players will receive:
2 Gifts of Exploration
A star next to the character’s name, viewable by other players
The title Been There, Done That, available to all characters on the account
The Map Completion Account Medal.
This doesn’t say anything about exp. but map only completion does give exp. 10% of your level.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Map_completion
Some players reported that they did not receive the reward when they obtained the world completion achievement. For some, revisiting the Chantry of Secrets resolved the issue. A few were able to work around the issue by revisiting every map on the required list. Another fix is to go through the Asura gate in Lions Arch to Black Citadel. If you encounter this issue and are not able to fix it on your own, you will have to contact ArenaNet support.
I would try 2 things. Visit each map and go thru the Asura gate in Lions Arch to the Black Citadel. If neither of these work you will need to make a ticket.

Try visiting each map and see if there was a chest you got for completing the map that you forgot to open, including the WvW maps. That has been known to stop a person from getting the final chest.

Try going back once again into the chantry of secrets. One known bug requires it before the person gets their gift of exploration.
Another possibility is, a waypoint or point of interest was added to an map you have already done. Another possibility, you forgot to open the chest from a previous map you completed.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
From what I’ve read on the forums in the last year, lots of people buy these keys. Some have claimed to have spent hundreds of dollars total or say they buy $50 worth of keys at a time. As long as people are spending like this, ANet will have no reason to change.
