That’s another odd thing. When someone has an offending name, the first time is is a forced name change only. There is no suspension. When the person first tries to log on, he gets a message that the character must have a name change before he can play. He can change it and then log on. It’s only after that first time, when a person reoffends by picking another offending name, that the 72 hour suspension happens.
And another thing, really, you should have gotten an initial response within 24 hours of sending the ticket. Sometimes it’s sent off the a spam or junk folder. Did you check all your folders just in case their email went in there?

Afraid not. Once it’s soulbound it’s soulbound. There nothing ANet can or will do about it as this is a case of player error and is not something they will fix.
Well according to wiki, it sounds like it should reset.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Krait_Obelisk_Shard
Krait Obelisk Shards are shards of an ancient krait obelisk that was recently found in the possession of krait across Tyria when the Toxic Alliance was revealed.
A Krait Obelisk Shard can be added to the home instance by using Krait Obelisk Shard (item). This shard is a place of power and provides a skill point once per day.
But then in a note it says: Upon first use, the shard will grant each character one skill point.
So the way it’s phrased is a bit confusing. I would suspect the note is correct but it doesn’t hurt to bring it to their attention, just in case it’s supposed to reset daily.

I’ve been hit by an immobilize bug in PvE 2 or 3 times, though not recently. I can’t use weapon skills or move from that spot. I have to go to character selection screen to stop it.
If you have a ticket that is 3 days or older post here for Gaile to look at it, being sure to post your ticket number.
I remember that. The zerg was fighting the candy corn boss. I got downed, nobody ressed me – so I teleported to the res point. On the way back, the skeleton boss took keen interest in my Asura necro and followed me all the way to the zerg. And for the next few minutes, the two bosses tag teamed and killed off the majority of the zerg force…as you see in the picture. It was total mayhem, most people had to use res point at least 3 times before we cleared it all.
Attached proof I was there
Oooohhhh. So it’s your fault! BAD DOG! (Smacks with rolled up newspaper).
He showed you a list of what needs to be completed to earn titles and you completed several on the list.
Does this mean, for any of the titles you completed all that needs to be done but the title doesn’t show or you’ve just completed some of the ones on the list for one title? And can you post a screenshot of what you have done for one as an example?
Temples also sell backpieces. These are exotics, the stats depend on the temple and you buy them with karma.
Edit:
This site shows which temple has which stats. The wiki is probably wrong about the stats on Melandru since magic find was removed from gear a while back.

I finally figured out, thanks to astral projections on another forum. use email address vs account name.
Glad you are able to get in. Have fun in game.
And yes, it’s confusing, it’s a common error.
Imo Bifrost is currently somewhat of an unused Legendary. The only staff I use on a regular basis is on my necro. My guardian uses it only when I need a speed boost. My Mesmer only used it while leveling. It’s a lovely staff though. If you use the staff enough on your Mesmer then it’s worth while. Otherwise, it will be just for display while in LA.

You should have gotten an email from them, which you then reply to in order to update your ticket. If you can’t find that email check this thread here for possibilities of why you can’t.
One thing you can do with an retired character is park them at a chest and open it daily. You might check to see if the guild puzzle chests are available to be opened daily if a character is parked there. Or you could outfit the character in masterwork or rares, leave them in Frostgorge or Orr and make an ori/ancient wood harvesting tun daily.
Not seeing that to turn on, in chat options..
Only “Show Timestamp”, “Show Channel Tag” and “Show In-World Bubbles”
Hmm. It may be in the game options at the top left of the UI, not chat options. It’s been a few months since I’ve looked for it.
I believe it’s impossible at this time and this is why I think so.
If servers were merged, I would bet that the way it’s done is that the old servers are destroyed and a new one made with the populations put in the new one. The people who are asking for mergers may have forgotten or don’t know that guild banks are tied to their server and can’t be moved. This would mean that the guild banks would be destroyed along with the servers. All the influence, upgrades, access to commendations and guild missions and items in the guild storage would be lost. Because of WvW considerations, a minimum of 3 servers, and maybe 6 servers to make 2 opposing sets, would have to be merged with a loss of all those guild banks. There is no way that ANet could merge servers without massive outrage from people didn’t want a merger and who lose their guilds and all their work on it.
Until ANet has the tools to detach guilds from servers and move them to another server, mergers will not happen.
Go to chat options and select ‘game messages’. While it will start telling you a bunch of stuff you don’t need to know, such as every single item you loot, it will also tell you when people you have friended log on or off. It will say in chat, for example, Smashfist.9749 has logged on.
If you want wings, you should look into the Holographic Dragon wings in the Trading Post. Type Holographic in the search and you can preview them. At about 10 gold right now, I know they are likely way out of your current price range but they can be a longer term goal for you. Once you get to level 80 and have access to more money opportunities, 10 gold isn’t that much. Just be aware that price depends on supply and demand so the price is likely to go up as supply goes down.
Type /age in chat. It will tell you how many days since character creation and how many hours played for that character and for the account
You can also type /deaths to learn the number of times you have died.
Ranger in PvE is simple. Get a bear to hold agro and use a bow. They can stand off at a distance and pew pew most mobs down. And I bet most kids would enjoy having a faithful pet friend to tame, name, and play with.
Warrior is good but can be fragile against mobs that have a lot of conditions. Guardians are much tankier and may be a better choice if deciding between these 2.

One thing I have to ask is, who is writing the LS storyline? Not the particular person, but the job title. Because if it’s Devs writing it, you should hire people who actually write stories for a living, as writing good stories is not a Dev’s strong point. It’s not what they are trained for and frankly, it shows. Or get a professional editor. The stories I’ve seen so far have lore illogical inconsistencies (such as the krait allying with non krait) or just need overall tightening. A good editor would be able to tell you that a maniacally evil person with no ingame background who makes large scale alliances appear out of nowhere with no obvious effort is not a good plot device.
When you started the Scarlet route, you could have, for example, given us instances where we were silent observers of her making these alliances. Where it is known that we are seeing this to explain and move the story along, such as the instance where Logan hires Marjory. Books do this all the time, the ‘fly on the wall’ scenes that move the story forward and explains it so the reader can understand. Doing this would have greatly improved the current LS and made it more palatable for many people.

I can’t imagine them suspending for copyright issues for words in a made up language or for minor characters in a book. I don’t think you can copyright a language for one thing. Names of particularly famous characters maybe, but not words from a language. I know of one frequent forum poster who has an account name with a famous character name who has obviously never had to change it so even that’s not likely.
Maybe you were sanctioned by accident. That has happened before. Or maybe it has a meaning in another language. But I agree, wait for support to tell you what’s wrong.
You might want to specify if you want to match the pink of the flowers, the green of the body of the bow, or both. ^^
I suspect while many people remember the name of the particular skin color they picked, they are not going to know the names of what colors best match the bow unless they happened to have picked that color. You best bet is to get a clear picture of the bow and refer to it during character creation.

Living story has the same cycle all the time:
1. Players need to gather some things x amount
2. they need to go around of the world find things
3. they need to kill x number of foes
4. they need to do some Jumping Puzzle
5. and all ends a dungeon.Usually that Jumping Puzzle and Dungeon stop a good amount of players to see ending of a Living Story arc, so they start to care less and less about it, because they know they will not be able to finish it. They will never see the end of the current story.
This has been a consideration for me also. I’ve attempted those dungeons but haven’t completed any of them. Either they are too long (4 hours!!! reported for the last dungeon) or my group attempted it, sometimes more than once, failed, and then I never went back. This means I didn’t see the endings of those LS updates and now I never will.
After playing Guild Wars 1 for several years and being used to their costume system, it was a grave disappointment to encounter the inflexible Guild Wars 2 system. For a game that’s built on cosmetics, the town clothes are either poorly thought out or it’s a system that’s highly monetized. If monetized, it’s too highly monetized for the good of the game imo.
For those who didn’t play Guild Wars 1, the costumes (that games version of town clothes) overlaid your armor. What that means is, you could wear any costume on top of your armor, still have all stats and weapon skills, and wear it in combat. There was an NPC who stored your armor for you and gave you copies of them upon request This meant each character had access to any costume you bought at any time. You never had to store it in the bank. You never had to worry about accidentally deleting it and losing forever what you paid for. It made changing your armor appearance easy and convenient.
For those who say costumes break immersion. Bows that shoot unicorns with the ANet logo on them. Tybalt backpacks. Wings. Quaggan backpacks. A mace that looks like a dico ball. People doing modern dances from Earth such as the Charleston or Everyday I’m Shuffling. Charr doing a human tribal dance. Etc, etc…
In addition, costumes don’t need to be ‘goofy’. They can look like armor or robes. They could give a way to vary appearance while not hurting others immersion.
Some actual costumes from Guild Wars 1. All of these were wearable in combat over your armor and were dyeable. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Costume
Strangely enough, the paper bag helms are in Guild Wars 2 wiki and it doesn’t say currently unavailable. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Paper-Bag_Helm_4-Pack
What BrotherBelial mentioned where we found out about past events would be great. Fill in the back history of Guild Wars 2. It could either be set in the present to find answers that a historian asks or it could be a flashback sort of thing, where we become that historical person and relive those events. It would probably be more expensive as it might require instancing to be truly effective but this would be way more interesting than zerg here then zerg there and also find 20 of these. The best way to do this might be a personal story like setup with instances at different points on the map you go to. To reduce costs, don’t have any voice acting. Ditch that in favor of text bubbles.
This sort of story could be left ingame forever for anyone to do whenever they want. All they would need to do is talk to the correct NPC to initiate the story line. This would allow you to explore the game’s lore, have releases all can do and have it permanent for people to do at leisure and in the years to come as they start the game.
I got this a couple of days ago. It lasted about 5 minutes or so then stopped. I was using my iPad (Safari browser) but was able to access other forums such as gw2guru and use the internet for other searches during this time so I’m assuming it was the forum and not my connection.
If you are having trouble purchasing stuff from the gem store you will need to contact support, top of page then go to submit a request on top left and make a ticket.
One possibility is you hit ANet’s credit card limits. If so, you can ask for the amount of money you can spend per month to be raised.
Sorry about your broken legs (ouch) but appreciate the research. I’ve done the champ farm a few times but since I’m holding on to the mats right now, it was hard to tell exactly how profitable it was.

Wow! A skill point that acts like a skill point.
If you thought it would reset, you were deluding yourself.
The long term gain in functionality is that your quartz-harvesting alt no longer has to go anywhere else to combine the 25 quartz they dig out every couple of days.
NOT the complete annihilation of the skill point economy.
lol. The complete annihilation of the skill point economy? I have 210 skill point scrolls sitting in my bank right now. And that number seems to be on the low side as I’ve seen other people talking in game, saying that they have stacks of them. When I had 100 or so, people were pinging a stack of them in chat. Just killing a few champions will get you several. How in the world would one skill point a day per account annihilate the skill point economy?
And before you say, then obviously it’s not needed. Well, obviously it’s not needed. However a just one use per character skill point node is useless to me after that one time use as I’m not charging quartz, having no use for charged quartz. If it was a once a day skill point per account, at least it would have some continuing value.

I had a ranger with rare knights armor who drew excessive agro. I switched to exotics knights and it stopped. In my case it may have been the ratio between toughness and vitality that was affecting this. At that time I had traited for 30 points in vitality.

If you have a ticket that’s 3 days or older, they ask you to post your ticket number here for special attention from Gaile.
Be sure to read this ticket here for information about email from ANet not being received
You simply took the picture from a different angle.
Agreed. My plates also seem to be growing
O.o I never knew plates could do that. Does this mean Scarlet is going to come out of one of mine and I will find her standing in my kitchen?
I thought it would be a skill point a day also and was disappointed it was a once per character use only item. I still will be getting it, but only because I’m getting the meta on this LS and going for the 25 extra AP points for completing it. Since I’m not getting celestial armor, I won’t be using it and even if I were, the skill point in a map (Lornar’s I think is the map name) is a quick jump to and jump back.

For the armor, if you have already soulbound it you can break the soulbinding, put it in your bank and then have another character pick it up.
To break soulbinding on a piece of gear.
Buy from the trading post a cheap, low level white piece of the same type of gear. Use a transmutation stone to transfer the look of the soulbound gear to the stats of the white gear. It should then be account bound. You can then put it in your bank. Your other character can then take that gear from the bank and use another transmutation stone to put the look on its gear.
Be sure and check all your mail folders. Sometimes they get sent to spam or junk folders and don’t get seen.
I’m not sure what advice or help you could get from someone on the forum. For one thing, she is going to have to establish ownership of the account. That can only be done through support. Even if she could do it on the forum, it wouldn’t be a good idea for her to give out sensitive account information where anyone can see it. The staff person who commonly posts on this forum helps people but she normally only does so in special cases, such as where people are appealing final decisions or need extra help that they can’t get from support.

I buy $10 a month with real money then buy gems with gold if I want more. I figure the game is easily worth $10 a month.
Just think, in years to come you can take people to your home instance and point out your own personal quartz charger. Which is useful if you have quartz to charge and a reason to do so (and maybe not so useful if either of those aren’t true). They will be madly jealous, I’m sure.
The only ones that can help her is support. She can go to support at top of the page then go to ‘submit a request’ at top right and make a ticket.
You get PvP armor by playing PvP, and that armor is for looks. When you go there (crossed swords top left of the UI) you will be level 80 with access to all traits and skills with a starter set of gear. Venders there will give you more starter gear and you buy more than that with PvP currency, glory.
PvP armor can’t be used in PvE and PvE armor can’t be used in PvP.

People do get banned by accident, so you may have been banned for botting while never doing it.
As for ‘extended unattended play’, I don’t know as they’ve ever defined it. The game does kick you out for standing around and I guess getting around that might provoke a ban. I’ve seen at least one thread asking this question. It went unanswered. I suggest you either log out or go to character selection screen if you are going to be idling for awhile.

Yes, that is correct. Be sure and remove all nonsoulbound items first and put them in the bank as everything on the character and in the inventory will also be deleted.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Server
“The transfer fee is only charged if you have characters on your account; in other words, if your account has no characters or you delete all existing characters first, you will be prompted to select a new home world after creating a new character, free of charge.
To transfer to a different world, go to the character selection screen (using F12 or when you first logon) and select the desired world; you will be logged out while the game makes these changes, which might take 5-30 minutes. You can transfer once every seven days at a cost determined by the destination server population and whether or not you have characters".

If you have a ticket that is 3 days or more old, post in the stickied thread “tickets for review, 3 days or older”. You put your ticket number there.
Just a heads up, you can’t use someone else’s account to post on the forum. Your girlfriend however can post for you and be the one to post in the stickied thread.
The only people who might be able to help you is support. Top of page and then make a ticket.
Can’t you buy a gem card and give that to him?
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/gems-cards-now-available-at-select-retailers/
Aren’t there quivers you can craft using ingredients from doing fractals?
Once you’ve gotten set up, yah having that phone app should keep him out. Good luck with getting your account restored.
Sounds like you were hacked.
You need to scan your computer for security problems, also checking for keyloggers. You might want to also change the password for your email. Once your computer is secure you should contact support, at the top of the page, and make a ticket. If your account was hacked you can request an account restoration which will rollback your account to a previous state from before the hack.
You will need to contact support by making a ticket. Use the support tab at the top of the page. I’m pretty sure they will be able to resolve this for you.
