The thread I saw about the log in bug stopped without anyone posting a solution except to try unclicking remember password. It appears you are going to have to wait for support then. Hope it gets resolved soon and you get back in game.

Either you got hacked or it’s the ‘game forgets passwords’ bug. It’s probably not hacked because if they switched your password, you wouldn’t be able to access the forum.
Be sure you are using email and password, not account name and password.
Try unclicking the remember password button on the game and typing it in manually.

I don’t think transferring will do anything. Contact support by going to the top of the page and tell them what happened. See if they will return the items.
Not for me, I get a random bonus item once a month or two months. It’s all RNG.
You should contact support. They are the only ones who can tell you why the game is refusing your card. Go to the support tab at the top of the page.
I know Orr is supposed to have the most events of any area but I’ve only done a handful do them because they are a pain to do solo. If there were other people in the area doing events and calling them out that would be fun.
A daily that pulled people to Orr or other high level maps is a good idea.
Yah well if they allowed people to rename their own accounts, someone who was planning to harass others or scam could first chose an offensive account name, do what they want, rename their account with another offensive name, rinse and repeat. ANet’s policy is directed towards protecting other players so they made firm rules on account renaming. Unlike character account renaming which is much more flexible.
Yes, you can make a character to play in the game then delete it and any others and transfer for free.
Transferring servers
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Server
“The transfer fee is only charged if you have characters on your account; in other words, if your account has no characters or you delete all existing characters first, you will be prompted to select a new home world after creating a new character, free of charge.
To transfer to a different world, go to the character selection screen (using F12 or when you first logon) and select the desired world; you will be logged out while the game makes these changes, which might take 5-30 minutes. You can transfer once every seven days at a cost determined by the destination server population and whether or not you have characters".
Making the initial choice of a server is not counted as transfer so the first transfer can be at any time.
P.S. The forum filter has a horror of people trying to sneak naughty words into a conversation. If you look closely at the filtered words and ignore spaces you will be able to see a naughty word in it. :P

Basically they don’t allow people to chose their own account name for a renaming for two reasons. One is to keep account renaming to a minimum to protect other players from people they have previously blocked. The seconds is because the ones who didn’t have the common sense to chose a non offensive account name in the first place are likely to repeat their error, as shown by the number of people who have posted on this forum after getting a suspension for renaming their characters with offensive names after a first forced renaming. Since ANet’s policy is trying to keep account renames to a bare minimum, they don’t allow players to chose a rename.
Post from another thread where Gaile commented on ANet’s account renaming policy.
“We’ve seen a few threads about display name changes, so I will add some information in the first post on this thread and in addition, want to post it here:
To those asking for changes to the Display Name: There are very good reasons why we do not offer the changes as a service at this time. It’s important in any game — and especially in an MMO with the high number and visibility of player interactions — to create a “personal history” for an account. I don’t mean your in-game “personal story” but a history of your account as viewed in the game.
If we allow changes of display names, a person who has been harassing another player will be hidden from that victim’s sight. A person who has built up a reputation for cheating, or botting, or doing other breaches of the UA, becomes invisible to those players who were aware of the issue and were awaiting action on the matter. Several other factors of “individual accountability” can be negated by simply hiding behind a new display name.
I take on board things like typos in making a name. But assessing the difference between a change and a correction can be difficult, and at this time, we’re holding firm on the “no changes” policy. There are two reasonable exceptions:
An offensive name will be changed — once — and it will be changed by a GM using an anagram system, so the user does not get the privilege of choosing the second name.
A display name will be changed to prevent the disclosure of personal information. For instance, the display name is the player’s real name or even email address. We have improved the account creation process to make it clear how display names function, and we even have expanded the User Agreement to accomplish the same objective. If players know that your display name is actually displayed in the game and on the forums, they’ll be less likely to use a name that poses a security risk. If they know that using an offensive name results in a randomly chosen name, they’ll be less likely — one hopes — to choose an unacceptable name.
Some of the same arguments about display name changes also applied to character names, but as you know, we made that option available when the feature could be properly developed. At some point we may make a feature available that allows a player to change his/her display name, but if we do, I am confident it will take into consideration all the risks of those changes, and address them effectively.
In the meantime, and with all due respect, we will decline to change display names unless they involve one of the two exceptions cited above”.

Edit: highlighted the area most specific to your question.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Hasn’t happened to me since I put AOE loot on a different key than interact. Check your options to do the same.
I don’t think anyone can really answer your question as the amount you need increases for each level and it depends if you get gold, silver or bronze. Plus it matters a bit if you are in a level appropriate zone or not.
This site here shows how much exp you need for each level. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Experience#Total_experience_gain_per_level
You can kill a champ or two, see how much exp you get and calculate it from there.
@Midnight
There is no restrictions on getting the portal stone. It and access to the HoM are for everyone. It’s only the rewards that are restricted. If anyone wants to afk there, I can’t imagine a problem with it. If ANet had a problem with it, the portal stones would require a Guild Wars 1 account to get. In fact I imagine ANet likes it. It can stir interest in gw1 and possibly cause sales.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
Generally it is using abusive language or profanity directed towards other people.
I suspect this idea appeals mostly to those who have a Legendary on a character they no longer play. Otherwise I can’t see there is much of a need for this. You can already break the soulbinding and transfer any item you want.
You are going to have to contact support, top of page.
Also, this is not really an account issue. It’s more one for the Game Bugs forum.
It would be nice to be able to sell stuff from black lion chests we don’t want, such as any of the various boosters or tonics. People who don’t PvP don’t want glory boosters and those who don’t get the chests don’t always have access to tonics for the costume brawl daily.
They consider that having to type the character’s name sufficient to stop accidental deletions and they don’t do rollbacks for anything but hacked accounts. I’m afraid it’s gone.
However the holographic wings, not the Shatterer ones, are available in the trading post for about 8 to 9 gold.
I have a question. Is there a way to report a player in game for something that might not be listed in the options menu?
The one time I reported someone, it was because he was teleporting around the map and obviously using some sort of hack. I know warriors are almost Gods at the moment in both pve and pvp. However, to my knowledge, teleport should not be one of their abilities just yet. (Maybe next patch
)
Is there a way to report something like this in game? I failed to find a fitting option.
If it was me, I would use the option ‘botting’ to report such exploits.

Account names can only be changed by ANet and they will do so if it’s considered offensive. If they’ve changed it then they will not change it back. Your new account name is here to stay.
I agree. I know that some might argue that this excludes low level players but it still would be nice to have something encourages people to do events in Orr.
ANet might consider adding a daily for map specific events. It would be nice to see lots of people in the higher level maps rather than doing events in the low level ones.

Update your ticket (or make a new one that includes the information on the old ticket since support may no longer have access to old tickets now) and ask for an account rollback closer to the date of the hack.

Yep. That one has been around awhile. It’s best to remove the links when posting as someone may click on them.
If you want to see more samples you can read this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/A-Note-about-Phishing-Emails-1
Ah, I see. It was my understanding you could at least get to the character screen since you got released. Well, that’s annoying. :/
It’s about midnight for her if she lives on the west coast. Which means she probably won’t be back on the forum for another 12 hours, give or take a while. Your best bet is to update your ticket to see if support can resolve it and check back here in about 12 hours if you are still locked out to see if she is posting on the forum.

They do have their own slot.
Go down 5 rows on the left side then across to the 5th slot on that row.
They already changed your account name. Did you change your characters names, all the ones that had the hold put on them? If you haven’t, you need to do that.
If you did that and still can’t play perhaps the ok to play didn’t get to the support person handling your ticket or the release to play didn’t work. You should update it and let them know.

Yes.

Unfortunately, I don’t think support will help. While the transfer button does need a confirmation notice instead of the guesting button, they still considered it user error and won’t correct a mistaken transfer.
From another thread where someone transferred by accident:

As suggested above, if you clear your account of all characters, you may transfer for free. Otherwise, I’m afraid you’ll need to wait for the 7-day “cool down” period to expire and then pay for another transfer.

The only free way, besides buying gems with ingame money, is to delete your characters. Be sure to put all non soulbound items in the bank beforehand.

It doesn’t save the download as it goes along? It does appear to go back to zero, but it really doesn’t. Try looking at the number of files remaining, download for a while, note the number of files, stop and restart download. Are the number of files left the same as when you started or when you stopped. If it actually goes back to to very beginning it’s not an account issue but a technical one and you will need to contact support.
Nope we were using a different email id (my wife’s email id).
Anyways this issue got resolved. Big thanks to GW2 support people. Although they could improve their web site user interface to provide a error message or some information instead of just refreshing the page and letting the user make the same mistake again and again.
Maybe you should make a thread in the Suggestions Forum about that. Describe what could be improved.

Unfortunately no. Once deleted they are gone. The only way ANet can restore items is through an account rollback and they only offer that to hacked accounts. They consider having to type the characters name sufficient thought to stop accidental deletions. So any deletions of characters and items are considered deliberate and irreversible.
And what about when getting hacked and they delete everything and done. That isn’t what the owned wanted…
That’s the account rollback that I talked about in my post above. If your account is hacked you can ask support for an account restoration which rolls back the account to a date before the hack. Restoring all items, money, karma, and characters to that time.

Yeah, I’m forced to rename my guardian. It seems that someone is offended the name ‘Pasi Pakki’. Idk why tho. Pasi is common finnish name and pakki is slang word from finnish word ‘puolustaja’ which means defensive type player. Can somebody please explain me why this is inappropriate name and I will change that.
The only thing I can come up with is someone confused it with kitten . (Forum filter won’t let me tell you, changes it to kitten. Use the link to see the word).
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Paki
‘kitten acquired offensive connotations in the 1960s when used by British tabloids to refer to subjects of former colony states in a derogatory and racist manner’.
But I would contact support, it seems a bit of a stretch. Tell them the real meaning of the word and see if it gets overturned.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
I wouldn’t like it. I normally play at night time and this would make me be always playing at night in game. And I’m not the only one. Most people play in the evening or at night after they get off work, eat, do household chores, take care of kids, etc…. This would have them rarely seeing daytime ingame. I doubt few would like it.
And as others have said, this is another planet with its own period of rotation which is HIGHLY unlikely to match Earth’s or your particular spot on the planet.

I knew about DR, didn’t know if affect events like that too. I only recently started farming events because of the karma nerf (wasted mine on orrian boxes
).
I found out switching a toon also works. ThanksEdit: wow, i don’t get karma in dungeons too? I just sis my usual rounds and got 0 karma in all of them
according to wiki im supposed to get 1880. What’s going on?
They recently took karma rewards from dungeons.

“Liquid Karma dropped from dungeon end chests have been replaced with Empyreal Fragments”.
Have fun playing. ^^
You hit Diminishing Returns (DR) which is Guild Wars 2 anti farming code.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Diminishing_returns
Know one knows how long it takes to start it but once it starts that character needs to leave that map and do something else for a while to reset it. You can return to the first map after you have done other things elsewhere. ANet doesn’t give out the details as botters would use this information to avoid it.
Yes, they are changing it up. Read this thread here for details.
Yah, different site from what I meant. I don’t check that as often as I see the announcements on the main forum page.
Not everyone reads the Accounts Forum. If there are going to be changes where interested parties should make an effort to save old correspondence, maybe this change should also be posted in the Announcements section of the main forums page.
I believe it already had been. =)
Really? I don’t see it there. I see current issues with the daily, the forum moderation one, game update notes for the 15th and so on. But none about changes to support perhaps we aren’t talking about the same site, I meant the main forum page.

There is one free way to change. Delete all your characters and you will get an option to switch servers.

Be sure and remove all non soulbound items, including empty inventory bags, and place them in your bank. Soulbound items can either be vendered, salvaged, or just left on the character. Any of the character names will be reserved to your account for 24 hours.

Have you already contacted support? If not you need to do so.
If you have already contacted support and it’s been 3 days or more then post your ticket number in this thread here .
Look at the WvW menu….I would image it would indicate who you are playing for.
I’ve guested and forgotten and tried to go to WvW, it’s “blank” in that it doesn’t give you any server names since you can’t go to WvW while guesting.
OP, offhand the only way I can think for you to know is to ask, either in map chat or have a guildie check the roster.
I suspect that they are like ori and ancient wood nodes. From harvesting every day in Frostgorge, thus is what I have seen, normally those reset at the reset time unless you have harvested that node within 6 hours of reset. Then it’s reset plus those hours. That is, if you harvest 5 hours before reset it’s reset plus 1 hour. If you harvest 3 hours before reset it’s reset plus 3 hours and so on.
That would explain why someone opens a chest within the 6 hours before reset and then it’s not available again at reset, he need to wait that extra time.
Hi I have bought GW2 game when the pre launch! i bought the Digital Delux Version.. I would like to know since i purchased a year back on the pre launch and i didnt get the "Suit of Legacy Armor, Mithril Box, 10 Experience Boosters " is there any way that i can get them? i am playing Guild Wars for past 6years from the old GW1. I thought if there is a change of getting them it would be appriciatable. Looking forward
The Heroic Edition is an extra, it’s not part of the pre launch Digital Deluxe. If you want it you will need to buy it.
Well, you can still get one achieve point on the daily ‘do Teq event’ by going there, hitting him a couple of times then go afk.
That’s something at least.
