You aren’t trying to log in while the game is still loading are you? Also, are you using email and password or display name (Shaun.4089) and password? The email and password is correct.

If you are using email and password, possibly you hit the ‘game forgets password’ bug. Try changing your password and see if that helps. Unclick the remember account name and password and type both of them in manually.

Since your account was almost certainly hacked, be sure to do a security sweep of your computer being sure to also check for keyloggers. It wouldn’t hurt to change the password after the sweep on your email in case they got into that.

You are allowed one account restoration (an account rollback to a date before the hack) once per the lifetime of each account. Whether or not you use it at this time will depend on the state of the account and how you feel about it. It’s likely your old characters will be deleted and new ones, possibly already at level 80, in place. The account may be bare or it may be holding a lot of gold, etc if it was used for botting or gold selling. Using the account restoration at this time is not required if you don’t want to. It’s up to you if you want to use it or save the option for a possible future hack.

Idk. Which one of your children would you keep and the others you show the door and say, go find a JP and stay there for a daily farm.

I´d also like to add a thing about events, it´s very likely it was mentioned but: please, disable or edit existing events where they don´t make sense where the LS is. It´s really funny. There is this big tower swarming with krait and NC, but there is this guy that goes finding lost heirlooms. Or centaurs are just going their buisness, totally ignoring it.
Or, when there is Scarlet invasion, there is Scarlet events and other, completely illogical events happening at the same place. And worst thing with Scarlet invasions- other mobs don´t attack Scarlet minions and Scarlet minions don´t attack normal mobs. It makes world not living, but static. Maybe when Scarlet is happening, disable other events to spawn at least or something? It makes no sense

In addition to disabling events, it’s a small thing but could the yellow mobs run away from these creatures? It’s odd to see something like a horde of twisted creatures and deer and moas calming walking thru them. Particularly in the middle of a fight with a zerg of people. The yellow mobs should be fleeing the area, not admiring the scenery. I’m not one to worry much about immersion but this looks unnatural.

Just for grins, I searched for Ascended rings: while on this forum and on this thread page. It said, no results. The search function on this forum has been broken for months!

If someone makes this mistake, what they should do is create a ticket with support. Support has been known to help in this situation.

And in Guild Wars 1, unique only meant that it was a green weapon not that you couldn’t equip 2 or more of them at a time. If you wanted to in Guild Wars 1 you could equip 4 of the same unique weapons on your character. There wouldn’t be much point to doing so but you could.

The laurels as is are fine for a person playing only one character and only one build. If you have multiple characters you like to play or multiple builds you like to switch between then it gets punishing.

I’m for having more ways to get laurels as I have 8 characters I’m trying to gear up completely. And no, I don’t want to stick to one only as that’s boring.

You don’t level the character to level 10 first. You make a character, finish the introductory instance and immediately start the personal story, continuing till you get to the level 10 story and get the key. You don’t do anything else but that and it takes in the neighborhood of 30 minutes. Human, warrior (or guardian) and commoner are the recommended choices. You can run past most mobs and just fight the ones the story requires.

I also recommend you buy a cheap ranged weapon as at the end you will be level 4 and they will be level 10. If you don’t have access to a bank golem, there is a TP right before the bridge in the human story line. You can buy one and pick it up there.

Let’s face facts. This company is here to make money, and we’re where that money comes from. Bank slots are proven sellers, and they can increase the amount they offer whenever they need to. It would be hard to get money out of a wardrobe function in the same way.

Their money outweighs our play-ability.

They could get money out of it if it required a T-stone or an equivalent new item from the gem store to place an item in a wardrobe. This has been suggested in every thread about wardrobes I have read.

That email is a fake. Don’t answer it. Also, ANet doesn’t lock down accounts if you stop playing. Your account was probably hacked.

It’s not a breach on privacy because they have no idea about any personal information about you. Would it matter if they were harassing you because of something you said in game as opposed to something you said in the forum. Either way, you report and block. People who are going to harass will find someone and something to harass other about.

I now have the ‘game forgets password’ bug. I have the game set on ‘remember password’. I live alone and no one has visited my home in the last few days. It’s happened 3 times so far.

You’re assuming that the birthday presents will be important enough to you to be worth it. Were the first year presents worth it to you to get another round in year two? It’s likely to be the same, a mini (or several of the same mini) and some buffs of some sort. If that was good enough to hold on to one character then do so and buy a new slot. Park the old character at a chest somewhere to open daily. If not, then delete and remake.

If the character was level 80 I would say keep and park somewhere for daily harvesting. Since it’s only level 17, I would recommend deleting and remaking. You can use the instant level 20 birthday present to relevel.

Truthfully, to me the Guild Wars 2 birthday presents aren’t important enough to hold on to a low level character. And this is someone who had numerous low level characters in Guild Wars 1 and held on to them for birthday reasons.

People stopped doing DEs and then ANet gave up on them.

ANet made a few new DEs, released them in the middle of a busy NEW holiday update and got no response about them because 1) people were doing the new exciting content and 2) no one had a clue where they were or would be able to tell a new one from one they hadn’t done before, assuming they saw it when they were in the area and were able to trigger it. So ANet threw up its hands said welp, that failed. No point in trying again. And abandoned the heart of the game.

But why did players abandon DEs? Because the game is cosmetic driven and now also Ascended gear driven and both of these cost money. Lots of money. Money that the DEs don’t give. The DEs are primarily a karma source and only good if you are going for temple armor or a Legendary. If you have sufficient karma for them or you aren’t going for them, then the game penalizes you if you do DEs. If you want cultural armor, or a particular new weapon skin from the TP then doing DEs is a mind meltingly slow way to get money.

By making karma useless except for those 2 reasons, ANet guaranteed at the start of the game that the heart of the game would be abandoned.

To get players back to doing DEs, the rewards need to be reworked so there is a reason to do them rather than endless champ farming. Or endless dungeon running for that matter. Either karma needs to be more useful or doing events in a map need to have cosmetic rewards for doing them or they need to give other things people want.

While I’m echoing others here I want to remark on the points about DEs that I agree on.

1. increase the rewards for them. It has to be enough so people will prefer them to champ farming. The rewards don’t necessarily need to be only money. They can also be T7 mats for example. Or tokens of some sort. Laurels maybe, which are badly needed by people who have a stable of alts. Access to merchants who sell items only after you have done a certain number of events in a map on a day or if you have enough area tokens. Maybe a merchant who sells T7 mats. Do 10 events in a map for example and get your choice of 10 T7 mats.
2. make the ones that haven’t been done for a while by any players be worth more. Not a lot more as this will cause friction by people wanting to let it sit for greater rewards, but enough that people will prefer them.
3. make the rewards for events at least account bound and once per day to stop people farming the same event repeatedly.
4. add new events frequently and remove or modify/extend the chain of old events.
5. encourage people to move to new maps to do events rather than doing the same map every day. Perhaps you do events in one map on day one, then in order to get rewarded for doing events on day two, you need to go to another map. There would need to be some sort of cutoff so that people don’t do one event and then can’t play in that map for 24 hours. Perhaps the cutoff could be 4 events in a map. If you do 4 or more then the next day you need to play in a different map. 3 events or less, you can return to the same map the next day.
6. extend the notification area of events on a map. Currently I can find them using an app but I would rather the game showed me. Perhaps the orange event circles can be seen much further out and perhaps the ones that can be started can have an orange dot on the map.

I have about 150 Globs of Dark matter All from using black lion salvage kits that dropped FREE from doing dailies and all while making a profit of over 1g per salvage.. so 1 × 25 salvage BLSK gets me about 25g + 25 Globs of dark matter + 35 Globs of Ecto + some T6 ore or silk

Very profitable.. and so easy to do! just salvaging exotics with runes and sigils that sell for more then the armor or weapon cost me to buy off the TP

Must use a BLSK though because if you salvage without a 100% chance to get the sigil or rune and you dont get it you are making a large loss.

This can also be done with Master salvage kits with an 80% chance of extracting the sigil/rune to SELL back and probably still be more cost effective then just salvaging worthless exotics just for the Dark matter globs. AT least you have a chance to get back all your money + make a profit on 80% of the exotics you salvage.

It’s nice (for you) that you’ve gotten so many black lion kits from dailies. However I’ve only gotten one BL kit in the last few months. It’s not always possible to rely on ANet’s RNG for this sort of thing. Which means either buying them with gems, which means it’s not nearly as profitable, or using the Master salvage kits.

Don’t assume that everyone is getting the same RNG items you are and basing what is profitable on that.

Every 1000th achievement point chest has either the zenith weapon skins or the radiant/hellfire armor skins. Since you got your first weapon skin at 1000 achieve points, your next opportunity to select another will be at the 2000 achieve point chest.

I would like the option to hide chest armor also. I would probably only use it for my Charr and I doubt the problem with ‘naked’ players is that big a deal anyway. For one thing, if people wanted to do that, there is nothing to stop them from running around LA without armor and how often do you see that? I’ve seen more people playing ‘naked’ because of armor damage than I’ve seen people ‘naked’ in LA and my eyes aren’t virgin enough to be offended by pixel people who are only wearing pants.

On both my guard and warrior, I have ranged and melee. I use ranged while closing in then switch to melee, then dodge out and use ranged while kiting if my health drops enough.

If you have both weapon sets as melee only, it’s too restrictive imo.

I put mine on my female Norn necro. At least it scales more properly there. It’s way off on the Sylvari and I didn’t bother to check my Charr. I figured it would be ridiculous on her also.

If your ticket is 3 days or more old then post your ticket number here in this thread for review. If it’s less than 3 days then you need to wait for support to look your ticket over.

Typically though the first suspension is 72 hours. It should tell you this on your login screen when you get an error message. It should also give the reason there also. Typically something like abusive language for example.

They already said they are likely to have dueling but no dates have mentioned.

I remember trying the first version of the fire ele way back when. At that time I had a level 20 warrior and it was almost impossible. Dead people everywhere and many ended up with all armor broken by the end of the event. Then they made it too easy. You could stand in one spot and autoattack. I actual think this version is better. It’s hard but not outrageously so. You just have to be ready to dodge and watch out for the embers.

I do wish they would name the invulnerable embers differently from the killable ones. It would make targeting and killing them easier.

Unfortunately no. Nothing can be done. Support does not have the tools to unsoulbind an item so it can be transferred so there is nothing they can do.

And I can sympathize. I seem to have the same bug. I’ve had to reset my password twice on the last few days.

Well. I like them. I bought one of each and gave them to my Necro. With her Karka shell backpiece and Demon Masque and think they go well together.

Their block system is severely lacking. You can block someone and if they friend you and then use game messages, they will be told specifically in chat when you log in and when you log out. They can use the friends list to see what map you are on even if you log in as ‘invisible’. From other threads, it’s my understanding it doesn’t block what they say if they are in the same guild as you. And as this thread says, it doesn’t stop them from partying up with you.

Someday someone is going to use this weak sauce system to stalk someone. For example, lets say someone is stalking you in real life. Perhaps an angry ex spouse who knows your character name. If they have the game, even if you have them blocked, they know when you are logged on and that means they know when you are at home and if you live alone, that you’re probably alone. It’s hard to believe that ANet isn’t aware of the potential problems with this.

In the expansion Nightfall, didn’t some of the monsters sent by Abbadon have 6 red eyes? Maybe this is leading up to an expansion of the map into Elona.

Could it be the WvW ‘Power of the Mists’ effect on stats? If your server went down a tier or is losing in WvW, your stats effected by this will go down.

They use the overflow system. Once an overflow appears, they taxi others in their guild over, (the ones in the overflow group up with those not in it, those then click on the portrait where it says ‘join in Sparkfly Fen’ and they then go to that overflow). Repeated till all are in it. This leaves the original map empty.

Here’s the thing, the gifts normally are based on the account age not the characters age. However under some circumstances that doesn’t work due to bugs or whatever reason. I’ve seen it happen to a friend while my character was deleted just fine without missing out on anything lol. I would recommend that if you don’t want to spend the gems for a character slot go ahead an contact support. Let them tell you if that would affect your account. IF you ever run in the issue with not receiving the gift, you would have at least something written by support and it would be easier to follow up or getting reimbursed on at a later date.

Edit : If you still have the Bday gift that was given out prior make sure you put it in your bank (should be account bound) before deleting the “old” character.

No, birthday presents are by character age, not by account age. While there might have been a bug in when a character got the first birthday present, the intent is for each character to get one on its birthday. Contacting support on this is a waste of their time as they will only be telling you that it’s character birthday not account birthday.

Yeah, I agree they should have the option to be separated. In fact, the whole guild system could use someone going over it and making it better.

There are usually 3 main ranks in a guild. Officers, members, and initiates. Having 3 ranks to guild bank permissions would be a nice feature.

I guess he is asking for the ability to move a commander title from one character to another but only in PvE?

Yeah I use yahoo as well, and after clicking “not spam”, I no longer receive the authentication mails. Only option is the remove the authentication, until the problem is fixed.

Another option is to contact support and change the email to one that’s not having this problem. That way you can keep the authentication, which is a powerful tool to block hackers.
