You can play the personal story on another char, get the item, break the soulbinding on it to make it account bound then let your character have it.

If you don’t know how to break soulbinding:
Buy a white, low level, cheap coat. Use a T stone to merge them together, keeping the appearance. It will be now account bound. Put in bank. Your other character takes it out then uses a T stone to put the appearance on the coat it’s wearing.

That was kind of a snarky comment. You aren’t required to rez anyone, downed or dead. I generally try to rez but if there are too many enemies nearby and it’s likely to get me killed, then they have to wait.

If someone said that to me while I was rezzing them, I would have said “oops, my bad” stopped rezzing and run off.

Might be the server. I hear some are quieter than others. Try guesting to other servers and see. If you find one more to your liking, you can transfer. If you delete all your characters, you can transfer for free.

He appears at the fountain in LA, every hour iirc.

Thank you for this idea. We are dropping the expansion we were working on and have switched to making this our new endgame. Hope you enjoy it.

Try contacting support. Support tab at top of the page, and make a ticket. I’m not positive but I think they help out in some way. Possibly by having you delete one and they send you another. At any rate, it’s worth a try.

I’m terrified it will be from a BL chest RNG also. I really hope they are gem store direct purchases but I doubt it. My guess, RNG mixed in with skins sold on the TP for 100 gold.

I liked it a lot too.

I got into it by accident. I was in another map and thought, well I guess it’s time to join the herd in Kessex and run from spot to spot. WP’d in and found myself in an instance. I loved it. Very atmospheric. Reminded me a great deal of the missions in Guild Wars 1. (I guess I miss instanced content more than I thought I would). I thought it was well done and was a good way to tell the players what was going on and some of what they needed to do (collect the plants for an antitoxin). A nice little bonus was finding out I could repeat it by talking to the NPC. I very much liked and appreciated that feature. I probably will do it at least once more to make sure I got all the details of what they said.

How about a Ranger grub wearing a Quaggan backpack with a bow taped to his head? He could pull the string with his teeth. No bear though for a pet. Bears eat grubs for dinner.

Kind of suspicious. If someone hacked your account and logged in while you were playing it will kick you from the game.

I suggest you contact support. Top of page, the support tab, and make a ticket. Maybe you got lucky and changed the password before they did but you still need help with the email authentication.

While they don’t suit any of my characters, I looked them over and thought they were well done. More suited for Sylvari, but still nicely done.

For one, normally you don’t send in multiple tickets. More then one slows them down and slows down any response to you. All they do with extra tickets is read them then close them down. They don’t help you at all. If you have additional information you update your first ticket.

Right about when you sent in your first ticket, they redid their support system. It’s possible they are swamped with duplicate tickets from people trying to negotiate the new system as well as bugs that may have arisen. It usually takes up to 24 hours for the first response.

What I do suggest, if you only have ticket(s) to the old system (the ticket number will be in the format 1310XX-XXXXXX) go ahead and make a new ticket for the new system. Copy and paste your old ticket number and information on the new ticket. If you do have a ticket to the new system and if it’s been 3 days or more since you heard from them, post in the stickied ‘tickets for review, 3 days and older’.

I doubly very much it’s a hacker. A hacker would change your password and lock you completely out of both the game and the forum.

If it’s been 3 days or more since you contacted them you should post in the stickied, ‘tickets for review, 3 days and older’.

You may have the ‘game forgets password bug’. You are going to need to contract support. Use the support tab, top of the page.

Then why did the champions turn away from the people fighting it and go after my Ranger who just appeared on the scene, completely ignoring all the other characters who were fighting it till it managed to chase him down and kill him? This happened repeatedly. All he had to do was show up to get unswerving agro. That site mentions toughness and he was wearing rare knights armor but the excessive agro stopped when I switched to exotic knights armor (with more toughness).

While some people are having password problems, one common error is they try to login with the account name (Jow.5478). The game is like the forum, email and password. Have you been doing that?

It’s my understanding that it’s insulting comments directed towards people. I would think this is ok, What on earth are you doing guys? Stop farming kills in the middle! Go cap something for the love of God!” But not this, What on earth are you doing you (insulting word)? Stop farming kills in the middle! Go cap something and quit acting like a bunch of (insulting words)".

Both are telling people in a team to stop doing something and to start doing another thing but the second one has personal insults that can be reported.

Sarcastic remarks by themselves are fine as long personal comments are not included.

There have been some support changes, you no longer go to ‘ask a question’ but you still make a ticket for it.

People who get suspended and try to log in get a screen (I think it’s black) with a text message saying something like, ‘you have been suspended for X hours for reasons A, B, or C’. You shouldn’t get a screen with login error.

It’s impossible for the forum to tell you if it the suspension is a bug. The screen sounds like it’s bugged. I suggest you contact support using the link at the top of the page.

My problems with the Living Story

1) I know what is going on. I don’t know why it’s going on.
I have played since beta, almost every day and have done each new LS. If a new player were to ask me about Scarlet, my answer would be she is a slvari that attacked the queen and then attacked random maps. Where did she come from? I dunno. Why is she doing this? I dunno. Why is she attacking random maps far from towns and cities? I dunno. The background info is missing from ingame and before I read in a forum thread, I didn’t even know it could be found out of game.

2) it’s too fast and too shallow.
I gather ANet likes the buzz from people logging in for the new LS updates and talking about it but too much is just busy work. Running to different effigies on different maps and dancing like a monkey before each one is busy work. That sort of stuff is fine for holiday rewards, like carving pumpkins for Halloween. People expect frivolous stuff then. Slow down the pace. This will give your people more time to write deeper story plots and better things to do. Now it feels like an achieve race to get it done.

3) some way of going back to the old Living Stories.
A lore library maybe. Right now, if you missed one, it’s too bad so sad. Interactable books could have the cutscenes and background information. Maybe they could somehow trigger the ones where you actually participated in as an instance. Maybe they could even trigger the old, removed dungeons so new players could do them, even if they don’t get any sort of reward for it. If necessary, these dungeons could be scaled down so they are soloable if it’s too hard to get a group for this.

I don’t think anyone has really figured out what triggers agro in this game. I noticed when my ranger had rare knights armor while in Orr he was an agro target for any champion. All he had to do was appear and they would break off from who they were fighting and chase him down. This stopped though when I got exotic knights armor. I suspect it has to be some combination of toughness and health that triggers it and maybe you have hit a ‘sweet spot’ for agro. Perhaps you can check by resetting your traits to give more toughness and/or vitality and see if it affects this. If it does you could keep the traits you want and change up your armor to get the reduced agro.

One of those emails, the one about the new support system, is just a generic email they are sending out to everyone that sent off a ticket. It’s just a FYI email.

While there does seem to be some password problems right now, one mistake people make is they try to use account name and password instead of email and password. It’s the same login as this forum.

While there might be a problem with your ticket because of the new support system it wouldn’t be closed or on hold. Hopefully Gaile will be able to sort the problem out for you.

Heavens, I remember people ‘leaching’ off soloers in Hard Mode farming runs out of Rata Sum in Guild Wars 1. There wasn’t money involved but it benefited both sides and there was almost always people advertising In chat ‘looking for leachers’ or ‘want to leach’. This sort of thing, dungeon runs, runs to new areas, leaching/soloer teams, went on for years in Guild Wars 1 and no one that I know of complained about it. Afaik ANet is perfectly fine with it going on and they are the main ones to worry about.

Pretty much this game is similar to Guild Wars 1 where you need to set your own goals and work on them. Yours was making one legendary. You could have the goal of one of each Legendary. Or 100% map completion on each character. Or getting all Living Story achieves. Or getting 100% on Weapon Mastery on each weapon, including ones like shield and focus. And so on.

Guild Wars 1 was mostly a title hunt game. This game it set up in a very similar manner.

Hopefully Gaile can help you then. It’s almost 9AM for her and she most commonly posts here in the afternoon. I would check back in a few hours if I were you.

And yes, Orr is exclusively risen. Everything there, both the people and the animals, are risen. There are only red mobs, no yellow or white ones. So everything hates you on sight and wants to kill you. And this is the easy version of Orr.

Be sure to check all your email folders. They sometimes go into the junk or spam folders. If not there, don’t PM her but do put your ticket number on your post. You might ask support to resend that email also. If all else fails, maybe you can change emails and have them send it to the new one.

I wouldn’t post the email on the forum as that is half of your login info that you are giving away for everyone to see.

No, this sort of thing is considered player error and is not something ANet will reverse. You will have to run the dungeons again to get more tokens.

The only real way they have to refund tokens is to do an account rollback and that is reserved for hacked accounts.

How about Ranger Warrior? Double longbow and a bear. :P

This strikes me as odd. I used a basic salvage kit on about 20 rare items with an item req of 46 – 53 and didn’t receive a single essence of luck. Considering how many I have been getting from other items it made me wonder if there was a minimum level.

It’s only fine and masterwork, per wiki, not rare.

For example, a single banner warrior can provide a group with a total of 4 banners that each with Regeneration. If the warrior himself was the only one who can pick them up, then using multiple banners would actually be detrimental, as you could only take one of them with you.

How about you try to spend less time hitting the F key like a greedy, loot-crazed salivating puppy?

Can’t forget skill 3 and the area swiftness boost. That’s great for running in zerks when others use them too. Regardless though all you have to do is change your interact to some other button and leave aoe loot at F. Other people picking up banners very good strategically I wouldn’t want it to change.

There you go, assuming everyone else knows the skills your banner provides. As soon as I realize I’ve picked one up, I shout at my computer, the dog jumps up from his nap and knocks over the lamp, and I am playing by the light of my monitor hoping no shards of lightbulb got into my soda.

I do NOT have time during combat to learn your skills, nor do I WANT to. I DO use AoE looting, but I still pick up banners by accident on occasion since the F key is multi-functional and not just for looting.

Preferably, they should only be able to be picked up by the person who dropped them, like turrets. Until that day, I’d appreciate it if you’d drop them back towards the edge of the action, not right in the middle of the scrum. The people who want to pick them up can go grab them, and the rest of us won’t curse your very birth.

As I said in my post above, you CAN split it up. Leave loot on F and put interact on some other key.

You go to options to do it.

I don’t think that’s likely, that the TP took 30 gold instead of 3 silver, however if money disappeared then it’s a bug, someone got into your account or you did something and forgot. It’s really only something that support will be able to answer. There is no way that anyone, including ANet staff, can answer this on the forum.

The type of salvage kit you use does not effect the amount of essence of luck you get. A rough salvage kit works just as well as a Black Lion one for this purpose. Any fine or masterwork gear will have a chance for it. No level is specified. I have gotten essences from low level gear.

I’m at 92% and I’ve stopped actively increasing it because of cost. But since I used to have 0% magic find, 92% is an improvement.

You will need to contact support, there is always a possibility you were hacked.

Another possibility, does anyone else such as a sibling or a roommate have access to your computer? If you have password remembered and they do, someone could have logged on and done something with your money.

I would gladly give up this versatility to not have to worry about picking them up. Like I said, maybe it could be a menu option, so people who join groups with banner-mad Warriors could turn that toggle off, but for most people they have no need for picking up banners. If it came down to “we can only turn this ability off for everyone or leave it on for everyone,” I think that 9/10 times, it would be better to turn it off for everyone, and that 1/10 times, they can figure out some other strategy.

I’ve gotten too used to hitting F to pick up loot, I’d still be picking up banners I just wouldn’t be getting any loot. Maybe they could give us a separate key for picking up banners and I would just bind that to “L” or something else suitably out of the way.

Lame topic, there is already option which solve that problem. AoE loot, i play banner war and we havent problems with loot, revive etc. Because F prefer – revive ? loot ? banners ^^

Ok, that’s it, next time I pick up a banner by accident I’ll just run it ten seconds away from the zerg before putting it down again, then go back to where I was and collect my loot.

I have my pick up loot on F and put interact on G.

I still spam F to pick up loot, and I still hit F, when I see something like a banner come up when picking up loot, but since picking up a banner is now on G with interact, nothing happens.

If you mean ticket wise, from a few hours to 24 hors for the first response.

If you mean on the forum, it’s early Sunday morning. About 2 AM for Gaile, the Support Liaison. I wouldn’t expect her to post until Monday sometime.

Your ticket will probably be resolved by support long before she comes back.

That used to happen to me but a few months ago they allowed us to separate the interact and loot keys and it hasn’t happened since.

Check your options, put loot on a different key than interact and there you go. You’ll never pick up a banner by accident again.

AoE Looting
Players can now loot all creatures and loot chests dropped by creatures in a small radius with a single interact.
This feature can be used by either:
Selecting a new “AoE Loot On Interact” option, which will use the same key binding as the “Interact” key but will only trigger the AoE Loot functionality while none of the forms of the interact dialog are visible.
Creating a new key binding named “AoE Loot” under the “Miscellaneous” section of the key bindings tab on the options panel.

Lol. I remember encountering those chickens. It was me and 2 guildies. One of us killed one and ended up with all 3 of us being run out of town by them.

It was a little embarrassing being chased off by chickens.

A book system would address also some of the problems with people who leave for a while and come back. The Living Story has progressed and they have no idea what is going on. There have been a number of threads and complaints about this.

Put the cutscenes from each Living Story in an interactable book along with some explaining text. A person who wants to read up on it can go to the lore library, chose the book on that part of the Living Story and read the text and see the cutscenes, such as the one where Logan goes to the Tavern and meets Marjory and Kasmeer there.

The karka shell one required a recipe and the mystic forge. As yet there is no recipe for any other backpiece from the Living Story. The only other ones are from Fractals and also requires a recipe.

It would be nice to be able to sell stuff from black lion chests we don’t want, such as any of the various boosters or tonics. People who don’t PvP don’t want glory boosters and those who don’t get the chests don’t always have access to tonics for the costume brawl daily.

So should those same items if bought directly from the Gem store also be available for TP? Cause you can’t have it both ways. In which case it ends up floating the Gold for Gems rate via proxy instead of strictly controlling it with the exchange.

You can already sell a couple of items that you buy with gems. Minis are a big one. People buy the 3 pack sets with gems and then sell the ones they don’t want on the TP. I’ve also gotten a mini 3 pack from the chests, opened it and sold the minis. You can also indirectly buy weapon tickets from the BL chests from other players. I’ve gotten 2 tickets so far. I sold the first weapon skin I got with a ticket for about 50 gold. I could have sold the second one for about 70 gold. I consider that similar to selling tickets as people are getting the use of a ticket without buying gems. If you can do this, why not other things from the BL chests?
